It seems bread is truly a timeless food. It all began with early humans eating something more akin to flat-grain-paste, to now being made for people all over the world!Even domestic bread making is regaining popularity, and I must admit I have tried my hand at it. It’s deceptively difficult. If you follow the recipe, then you will be just fine! But if you don’t pay attention, things could go horribly wrong. At home, it may just be flat and uneven. But for Salem, Massachusetts, it could be the cause hysteria and a year of fear.Sources:http://www.historyofbread.com/https://www.countryliving.com/life/a39888/salem-witch-trials-ergotism/http://www.physics.smu.edu/scalise/P3333sp08/Ulcers/ergotism.htmlhttps://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/295966.php#effects_on_perceptionStuff You Should Know: How Carbon-14 Dating WorksUNOBSCURED
From purifying food to preserving bodies, Salt has been present throughout all of humanity; even being utilized by Neolithic peoples! But it isn’t all sunshine and rainbows. While Salt has been key to our survival, it was also a precursor to money for early civilization and is one of the most corrosive materials on Earth. It’s importance cannot be overstated, but too much of a good thing eventually turns it bad. And if you don’t believe me, ask the city of San Elizario what they think. If you like what I’m doing, please consider subscribing and leaving a review! Soda has a much longer history than I was expecting. I never would have guessed that the fascination with fizzy-water began in natural hot springs and was more of a relaxing agent for the skin than it was for drinking. But hey, look at us now!The life of soda is filled with fun science experiments, a man’s search for relief, and apparently some potentially dark (and I mean really dark) associations. Regardless, Soda is a staple in pop culture and while we should probably focus on healthier options, I find it hard to turn down a Sprite on a hot day. It’s just so refreshing!Check out my sources for some more information. Also consider subscribing and leaving a review! The history of paper is one that is now more concretely understood and agreed upon by most historians. While there is also more to discover, this is what we know as of right now.The information on what types of paper there are and how to make it are vast and I decided not to list any one source as I looked all over the place. I recommend looking it up and exploring the (seemingly) endless possibilities! Finally, it is HARD to find information about Paper-singers using the internet and readily available western resources. What I know comes from stories told to me by a professor, but the snippet linked below at least confirms the information that was told to me.Sources:http://www.silkroadfoundation.org/artl/papermaking.shtmlhttps://books.google.com/books?id=Ch1DAwAAQBAJ&pg=PT233&lpg=PT233&dq=tibetan+papersingers&source=bl&ots=8FIK4BkJ8T&sig=ACfU3U1jsKJok5uFVMpXeG4p8vGxxyQZLw&hl=en&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjs1b2zssXlAhUkTt8KHYxeCdoQ6AEwAHoECAYQAQ#v=onepage&q=tibetan%20papersingers&f=false
