I've grown accustomed to altering my expectations of things in my life. Sometimes not as healthy as it should be. Even though we go through painful experiences, that in itself should not falter the greatness in future experiences that are waiting for us to encounter. And that in itself takes courage and vulnerability. It wasn't easy for me and I still have some boxes left in this cave of solitude but in order to grow a change must happen. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/rose-n-the-dark/support
When I first found God I was so on fire for who God was. How much God gave me and freed me of my prisons, that I got thrown into a loop when dealing with people who are in the church. I've gone through so much judgment in my life that I couldn't get over it. Until I finally had to learn that church members are human too…. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/rose-n-the-dark/support
My life has been filled with putting up this facade. And at the end of the day, I had to drop all the masks, I adopted through my years. One of the biggest things to being truly free is to go natural in your truth and know when to drop that mask. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/rose-n-the-dark/support
Music is one of my go tos. I've processed my pain, joy, and my prayers through it. When I couldn't take it anymore I would go to my bathroom and sing until I didn't feel the pain anymore. The power of song can be so freeing and it has helped me time and time again. Let me tell you the reason why I sing. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/rose-n-the-dark/support
I've come to a place in my life where I know who I am and more importantly who I was. We tend to pick things up from the people and experiences we find along the way. But I had to know what to drop by the waste side and what to keep onto. Grave Of The Fireflies is a Studio Ghibli film that I hold dear to my heart for a number of reasons. One of that is now becoming a lost art. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/rose-n-the-dark/support
There is going to come a time where you are going to have to get to the next level. But knowing the lesson in your growth is the biggest factor to making strides. To be teachable is to know respect. And once you're respecting God's will over your life you will always get the respect of yourself and others. Real recognizes real. You know the vibes. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/rose-n-the-dark/support
It's not always a walk in the park, and sometimes the only thing you really need is to just be understood. I struggled with receiving and also giving help. We all fall short in some aspect of life, but lacking to be reachable is so important. I can't grow unless I'm ready for that sit down you know. Let's dive in. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/rose-n-the-dark/support
Rejection feels awesome, doesn't it? And I mean this so very sarcastically. Rejection is one of those things that you know you are going to have to experience, but we try our hardest to avoid it. Even though this is an inevitable process, it allowed me to see something so plain as day. Like the forgotten keys left on your counter, the truth was standing right in plain sight. I finally understood why rejection potentially happens. The roots of why this painful conundrum happens ever so often to us. You see, ironically their rejection became the mirror of my reflection. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/rose-n-the-dark/support
Mental imagery is the envisioning of one's goal even though the contingent factors are not present. Children do it all the time as we commonly call it using their imagination. But as we grow older we do away with using this tool. When we imagine our life's purpose we are in fact using mental imagery. God loves to give us the end goal and vision, but faith is the mental imagery that keeps us on the right path. Knowing what is an asset or the hindrance is what is going to make or break you. You know the saying you are what you eat. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/rose-n-the-dark/support
Getting that breakthrough isn't easy. And usually, it isn't other people its things that we haven't dealt with that is within ourselves. But when we finally get there you can now maneuver around the hurdles that hinder your growth. Baby let me tell you. IT AIN'T ALWAYS EASY. But it is possible. Fully having a seat with your pile of hindrance is what God loves. To be teachable and to actively overcome them is your key to getting into bigger arenas of life. What to grow deal with with your weapons. Because if you ask yourself how far could I have gotten if I would have just changed the dysfunctions of myself. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/rose-n-the-dark/support

Turn the other cheek. A biblical verse that encourages even the most thwarting individual. It's a phrase that we all say but how many actually put it to good use. Artist TOBE NWIGWE sings on this topic and how many co-sign to. The struggle is real ya'll! LOL But I find that I always have to be in the word of God. Trust me it's tempting to revert back, to my yesteryear. But then you have to ask yourself, what does it really mean then? In today's episode, I talk about why is it so hard to not backslide. Everyone comes into this world with a purpose. And a lot of people spend a lifetime trying to find it. I had to go through trail and error to finally find mine. I had to fail to cultivate the gift of God's purpose. It's a burning desire to strive, conquer, and achieve. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/rose-n-the-dark/support
Last week we spoke about the men, but today we give omage to our ladies. As a woman I know too well what we face day in and day out. But it is so important to know who you are in this life. Hold your barings and stand tall for we are a gift. Love people and God will get you there. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/rose-n-the-dark/support
Can we give a round of applause to the men in this episode! Today we address the hardships and triumps of men in our community, as well as in our families. As a community the due diligence of scaffolding him is of most importance. The path of a man's purpose, is his greatest battle. But with the adherence of positive recognition, he too will conquer to his own actualization. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/rose-n-the-dark/support
Today we address how integrity can get blurred out of your decision making. You have to ask yourself, by what lengths are you willing to make, in order for you to obtain you want. You be surprised what some people would do to justify their gains. You reached your goal, but what good is it if you lack all integrity. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/rose-n-the-dark/support
Today we touch on vulnerability. I really wanted to dissect this topic and get down to the core of it. We tend to run away from fully opening up. The irony of wanting to be understood yet keeping secluded is like a paradox of misplaced validation. The more you open up the easier the journey. The only way to thrive is to be able to be vulnerable. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/rose-n-the-dark/support
