Sometimes when nothing else helps, playing baby white noise can be an effective tool to quickly calm a crying, colicky infant. When a baby is fussy, suffering from colic or not sleeping well, play this soothing white noise and watch them quickly settle down. Bring peace to your infant and to your household with this relaxing baby sleep sound. While playing white noise for babies, it's important to keep tabs on the volume, because any white noise machine, smartphone, or computer can put out levels that are too loud for your child. It's recommended to play the sound at least a few feet from where your infant is sleeping and to keep the volume no louder than the sound of a soft shower. Parents can download an app to turn their smartphone into a sound level meter. One good, free, option is the sound level meter app created by the U.S. National Institutes for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) available on the app store as the NIOSH SLM app. This episode was originally published in 2021. This free episode may begin with a short ad, but once the sound starts, there will be no further interruptions or breaks. Here are some great products to help you sleep! Improve your health and happiness. The sound you hear in this episode creates a calm atmosphere and at the same time blocks out disturbing noises. This will help you de-stress, unwind, and rest. Enjoy two hours of relaxing sounds to help you relax, focus, study and fall asleep.About ASMR Sleep Recordings:The purpose of ASMR Sleep Recording is to help you sleep and concentrate better. This particular episode lasts two hours and has no ads in the middle, so you won't be woken up or disturbed while focusing or relaxing. When you listen to ASMR Sleep Recordings, you can lock your phone, so you won't get any bothersome stimuli from notifications and other sounds from your phone. You can switch between apps while studying or working without pausing the ambient sound.About our sounds:Water creates a natural white noise. Infused with the relaxing quality of nature and the sound-masking properties of white noise, listening to running water is an ideal way to turn off all the stressful things life brings, and to de-stress. Some of our most popular sounds include a river, flowing creek, babbling brook, gentle waves on a lake, and a bamboo fountain. Rain also creates a natural white noise. Infused with the relaxing quality of nature and the sound-masking properties of white noise, listening to rain is an ideal way to switch off all the stressful things life brings and to de-stress. Some of our most popular sounds are rain on an umbrella, hailstorms, hard rain, soft rain, gentle rain, wind and rain, rain on a car.White noise helps babies and children to get a better and deeper night's sleep. This is because external sounds are masked by the noise. With white noise in the background, your child will not hear annoying cars driving by or dogs barking in bed. This allows your little one to sleep better. And it also saves you as a parent a lot of hours!Pink noise is more common in nature than you might expect. It can be compared to continuous rainfall or wind. In addition to white noise, pink noise is also increasing in popularity, especially in business environments. Because it can increase productivity, concentration and creativity.Brown noise can be compared to waves of the sea, a river current, strong winds or the sound of thunder during a storm. Like pink noise, brown noise is very similar to white noise. However, the frequencies have been lowered even further and a lot more concentrated. This gives it a rougher/coarse tone than pink noise. It sounds a bit deeper and a bit bass-like. The benefits of brown noise are the same as the other types of noise. It provides relaxation, increased focus and improved deep sleep.DISCLAIMER: Be aware that loud noises can damage your hearing. If you can't carry on a conversation without raising your voice while playing one of our spheres, the sound may be too loud for your ears. Do not place the speakers directly next to a baby's ears. If you have trouble hearing or ringing in your ears, stop listening to the white noise immediately and see an audiologist or your doctor. The sounds provided by ASMR Sleep Recordings are for entertainment purposes only and are not a treatment for sleep disorders or tinnitus. Consult your doctor if you regularly have severe sleeping problems, experience fitful/restless sleep or feel tired during the day.ASMR Sleep Recordings is the white noise and nature sounds podcast to help you sleep, study or soothe a baby. Ringmaster James T. takes the day off to honor our American Presidents, well, some of them, but never fear, Chris Krok is here to fill-in. So, apparently, a manager of a Mexican restaurant in Old-Time Scottsdale is in hot water for apparently cutting of the Super Bowl halftime show to play a looped DJ mix of "Ice Ice Baby". The reason he is in trouble is because of bunch of white liberals, mostly white women, complained. Chris plays the audio of one of those women, who by the way doesn't even live in Arizona! Speaking of white liberal women, everything they do and say referring to the Latino community is basically putting them in a box and they better not deviate from their beliefs and set rules. Plus, Senator Kelly is upset that DHS purchased a warehouse in Surprise for immigration purposes, saying no one in Surprise wants that, so we check in with our Surprise listeners to see if that's true. All this and much more, take a listen on this beautiful President's Day.

Prenatal Down's Syndrome tests, for instance, are now so widespread that in some Scandinavian countries almost 100 per cent of women choose to abort a foetus diagnosed with the condition, or – if using IVF – not implant the affected embryo. The result is a visible change to these populations: there are simply no more people with Down's to be seen on the streets of Iceland and Denmark.New technology is now available – at a high price – for those who want to go further. So-called polygenic embryo screening can give a very full picture of the adult that the embryo could become, including his or her vulnerability to an enormous number of diseases – heart disease, diabetes, cancer – and also the physical and psychological traits that he or she would likely possess: height, hair colour, athletic ability, conscientiousness, altruism, intelligence. Is this a good thing? Should we welcome a world in which parents are routinely selecting their embryos in this way? I'm joined today by two guests who take a very different view. Emma Waters is a policy analyst at the Center for Technology and the Human Person at the Heritage Foundation. Her work focuses on family, biotechnology, and reproductive medicine.Jonathan Anomaly is a philosopher, author of the book 'Creating Future People: The Science and Ethics of Genetic Enhancement', and is also the director of scientific research and communication for Herasight, a genetics startup that offers polygenic embryo screening. BABY CHRISTIAN OR MATURE CHRISTIAN? Hebrews 5:12–14 In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God’s word ALL OVER AGAIN. You need milk, not solid food! 13 Anyone who LIVES ON MILK, BEING STILL AN INFANT, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. 14 But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil. The Trump administration has created an incentive for Americans to have more children within the next three years. Any baby born between Jan. 1, 2025, and Dec. 31, 2028, is eligible for $1,000 of seed money in a tax-advantaged investment account known as a “Trump Accounts,” though any parent with a child under 18 can open an account for their son or daughter. The account operates similarly to an IRA, and parents, relatives, and friends can contribute up to $5,000 annually, though they do not have to make regular contributions. “Your child's funds will automatically be invested in American companies,” according to the Trump Accounts website. When the child turns 18, they can either allow the account to continue to grow, or they can withdraw the funds for education costs or to purchase a home. If the maximum amount is contributed to the account annually from the time the child is born, the account will have grown to over $270,000 by the child's 18th birthday. Between the rapid increase in the cost of living over the past 20 years, and many young people in debt with student loans, true financial freedom is a distant dream for many in their 20s and 30s, but “Trump Accounts” could change that for the next generation. If Americans take advantage of the program to its full extent, Generation Alpha, born between 2010 and 2024, and Beta, born between 2025 and 2039, can hope to avoid the financial situation many millennials and Gen Z young people find themselves in today. On this week's edition of “Problematic Women,” we discuss the potential financial and political implications of Trump Accounts. Plus, we celebrate the day of love and romance with our favorite hot takes on Valentine's Day. Enjoy the show! Trump Unveils New Initiatives to Bring Real Food to Americans Robert F. Send a textHow much oxygen is enough when resuscitating extremely preterm infants? This week on The Incubator Podcast, Ben and Daphna explore the TORPIDO 30/60 trial comparing 60% versus 30% FiO2 at birth. While primary outcomes were similar, babies in the 60% group needed fewer chest compressions and less epinephrine—a signal worth discussing. They examine an Indian non-inferiority study on surfactant thresholds (40% vs 30% FiO2), where waiting until 40% meant significantly fewer intubations and shorter respiratory support for the youngest babies. Ben presents compelling Melbourne data showing growth-restricted preterm infants face six-fold higher NEC risk—even with identical feeding protocols—and discusses how critical birth history gets "lost" as babies grow.Daphna tackles therapeutic hypothermia in late preterm infants, reviewing Toronto's retrospective analysis showing 34-35 weekers experience higher mortality and more brain injury compared to 36-37 weekers. As units rewrite cooling protocols, are we moving too fast on limited evidence? The episode concludes with Ben, Daphna, and Eli discussing the repeal of "sensitive locations" protections for immigration enforcement. Through the story of a mother detained while visiting her NICU baby in Chicago, they explore how these policies impact family-centered care and highlight advocacy opportunities through the Protecting Sensitive Locations Act.Current research meets real-world NICU challenges—all in one episode.Support the showAs always, feel free to send us questions, comments, or suggestions to our email: nicupodcast@gmail.com.
