We are two very sarcastic ladies sharing our opinions and experiences during the never ending journey of our weight-losses and gains.
Karen and Jo return at a socially acceptable distance to talk about gaining weight in lockdown, homeschooling angst and those perfect few still doing Joe Wicks on a morning and can't stop bloody going on about it. Yes we are jealous and no we aren't skinny yet, but we are still here and moaning as usual. email us on social@skinny-yet.com instagram facebook
Karen and Jo have been ruminating on the BBC documentary "Who Are You Calling Fat?" and there's a lot to unpack. We give our opinions on the subjects raised, a lot of them we have been banging on about for months, and Karen might be signing up for an E-course in the future... or maybe not. We also talk about the C-word a lot, oh and Christmas too. You can email us your reviews of Who Are You Calling Fat too, let us know if you agree or disagree at social@skinny-yet.com or find us on instagram @skinnyyetblog
Skinny Yet return to talk about finding a place to fit in within the tribes on social media and just how many cookies are too many in one sitting? We kick off season two with many a line drawn under things, such as binges, Instagram and politics. Everyone is welcome to join us in our new club no matter if you are big, small, fat or thin as long as you are nice and just eat biscuits from the packet like a normal person.
This episode we discuss Weight watchers' new diet app for kids, fat shaming bullies and how some people are just unwilling accept that Slimming World works for some people. We talk about our successful losses and successful chocolate brownie experiences, and could Skinny Yet be embracing positivity? The rants may suggest otherwise.
This week Karen isn't impressed with requests for her to stop losing weight and Jo investigates body positivity in an era where fat shaming is so mainstream, a (once) respected journalist can casually advocate a death sentence for fat people in need of help. And maybe Jo can embrace her curves when she finds out where all the influencers get their plus size clothes from.
This episode we discuss Karen's progress with Slimming World and Jo's departure from it. Jo has drawn the line on SW and jumped ship to plain old calorie counting, but the temptation for 1200 calories worth of KitKats is always lingering. We also give our opinion on Pinch of Nom vs Slimming World and have we invented a new weight loss support group?
In this episode we talk about Big Body Squad (channel 5) a fatsploitation tv show that makes us uncomfortable for many different reasons. We also discuss sugar addiction and whether it is taken seriously enough by doctors and the media. Would plain packaging stop us from buying that Double Decker? No.. the answer is no. Find us on www.skinny-yet.com Instagram Facebook
This week we discuss anxiety meltdowns before weigh in and how CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) might help the woman manning the scales avoid Jo's wrath. Karen gets some Instagram related issues off her chest and both discuss just how crap the new boots ad is.
This episode we try to understand the new non-diet to take social media by storm, HDE - hunger directed eating. We also discuss saggy skin, blind weigh-ins and we drop hints to Karen's other half (she wants presents)
This episode we talk about weigh-ins, skipping weigh-ins, partners and is there a conspiracy to keep us all fat? If there is it certainly seems to be aimed at Jo.
This is a long podcast so make a cup of tea and gather appropriate snacks for your syn allowance/state of mind. In this podcast we catch up on two weeks worth of what has been bothering us most about dieting, and we soon realise we are not the ones with all the answers, but wouldn't mind talking to someone who has it all figured out.
We talk about falling off the diet wagon into a pan full of brownies, why Instagram lies to us about dessert and the fateful return to Slimming World. There's some strong language, but showing unobtainable biscuits to us on social media will encourage swearing.
Karen and Jo discuss how Jo needs to get off her fat arse and restart Slimming World. Is another journey about to begin?
Introducing Skinny Yet? We are two friends, sharing our opinions and experiences during the never ending journey of our weight-losses and gains. We are typical women with a PhD in sarcasm, though it's often aimed at our own insecurities. In our first podcast we introduce ourselves and try get to the heart of why we are desperately trying to complete our "journey" and ask ourselves "are we skinny yet?".
