Christina Hayward, a nursery school and kindergarten teacher at the University of Chicago Laboratory Schools, was named Tuesday as one of this year's 10 winners of the prestigious Golden Apple Award for Excellence in Teaching.This is very overwhelming to have so many grown people in my room," Hayward said with a smile as she received a gift basket as part of the honor.
