They were visiting UCD School of Architecture as part of the UCD Masters Of Architecture Masterclass lecture series. They gave a public lecture and then the following day ran a workshop with the masters students. They toke time out the workshop to discuss with us the skills they were looking to teach the students and how that relates to their own work. In this episode we are in conversation with Yvonne Farrell and Shelly McNamara of Grafton architects. They joined us in Richview for a student led event to celebrate them being awarded the Ulysses medal from UCD for their achievements in architecture. Previous recipients of the award include the architect Kevin Roche. In this episode Tom O' Brien discusses his work method and his position in architecture with Kevin, James and Laura. Tom is a studio tutor in first year of UCD Architecture as well as being a practicing architect. Tom was recently shortlisted as one of the emerging talents in architecture by the architectural review. His work so far has been small scale domestic extensions in the city and one off housing in the country.
