Alas, today we finish Moon People by Dale M. Courtney. We’ve laughed, we’ve cried, we’ve eaten cheddar bay biscuits at Red Lobster and then gotten busy as hell afterwards. But there’s only one way to bring this saga to a close: run the thing into a ditch and hitchhike away from it when it’s still … Continue reading "Episode 70 – Potato Pudding and Space Catalogs"
In this edition of Microwave Cooking for One in Space, we ascend with our arsenal of 200 microwaves. We're gonna' cook Mars just right. We read the original Moon People four years ago in Episode 14. Thank you to listener Daniel Canady for this recommendation. Content Warnings are light this week - just some mild sex and violence in addition to our usual barnyard language.
Welcome back, Literary Slummers, and prepare yourselves for the most Action Pact episode yet. This fortnight, we read Moon People by Dale M. Courtney, sent to us from listener Emily, and boy… was this a journey. Join us as discuss David, the astrology professor, how telescopes work, Red Lobster, and more. A very special thank you to Ben Cope for our theme song! Check out his YouTube channel: youtube.com/fretwiz. Our 14th episode! Our current book is almost 800 pages, so it's taking us a bit longer than usual to read this one. For now, enjoy the last episode we put out before our hiatus. We've risen from the dead just in time for Halloween. In this episode, we begrudgingly go to space and we don't even meet people from the moon. This book short story disappointed in length, content, and execution. It brings shame to the science fiction genre. The English language is warped and twisted by the vacuum of space that is Dale M. Courtney's 'writing'. This is a very expensive short story written in the style of a child running through a park and shouting about each thing it sees. Actually, that would probably be far more entertaining and descriptive than this awful piece of literary sewage. Thanks to fellow terrible book lover Daniel Canady for recommending Moon People!
