As Big Mom finally tastes Sanji's legendary wedding cake, Totto Land is swept into unexpected peace—her hunger soothed in a euphoric frenzy. But while her rampage ends, the Straw Hats' peril continues. On Cacao Island, the Sun Pirates fight fiercely to clear a path, only to face Oven's boiling sea and the Queen Mama Chanter's fiery assault. A clever decoy by Wadatsumi spares the crew from destruction, but their escape is still far from secure. In a pivotal moment, Jinbe stays behind to help his old crew protect the retreat, vowing to reunite in Wano. As the Thousand Sunny finally breaks free, heartbreak and reflection ripple through those left behind—Sanji mourns Pedro, Pudding hides her tears, and Katakuri lies wounded, his mask broken but his dignity intact.LinktreeThank you for listening! No one ever remembers Stacy's dad~

Marina and Jemma begin the episode with a quick round up/ precis of the recently announced spending plans from Rachel Reeves. There's stuff to like but it's not the most scintillating, partly because it's pretty sensible which doesn't create massive headlines, as it shouldn't. Acknowledging that politics should be dull but that 'dull' doesn't make for a very entertaining podcast, the Trawl ladies decide to set their thoughts to music....who knew they could play the synthesiser? Then, they feel obliged to hark back to when Reform MP Sarah Pochin chose to use her first question at PMQ's as an opportunity to suggest banning the burqa. They wouldn't have given such a stupid question any oxygen only it led to a chain of events that can't be ignored for a number of reasons. It led to a resignation, a back pedal and a very disproportionate amount of coverage. This makes more sense given the recent scoop from Byline who have exposed how the BBC are trying to appeal more to Reform voters.....Jemma and Marina also discuss the flotilla which Greta Thunberg set sail on along with 11 other activists who were trying to break the Israeli blockade which is preventing food getting in for starving Palestinians. On a lighter note, Tommy Robinson and his pals got kicked out of a steak restaurant and lots of under rated tweets were written as a result. Pudding is served by comedian Sam Avery. This week we're checking in on Jennifer Dilandro's show because she had a fabulous guest - the mediocre and bland Mario Bosco! They talk about all the exciting things going on in their lives like haggling for better deals, purchasing clothing, and getting lost trying to find the studio. Tab Birt joins the show to discuss Mario's relationship with Arnold Schwarzenegger. On Cringe of the Week we watch Vito fantasize about suicide. Pure Genuine's Frenchie Hawna has her most epic episode ever as she discovers the future of podcasting. Opie finally announces his big podcast deal and is back in Manhattan to hang with Matt and Little Foot at Gepfarts. Maribeth joins the show to play another round of 2 Minutes with Tom, listen to the internet news, read recent reviews, and listen to your voicemails.
Dive into the heart of Totto Land's chaos as Sanji and Pudding risk everything to infiltrate Cacao Island, while Luffy's battle with Katakuri in the Mirro-World reaches explosive new heights with the unveiling of Gear 4: Snakeman. It's all happening. That said, potholes might not be getting fixed, loft extensions might not be getting signed off and bins might not be getting collected - those things may or may not be happening, but Doge has been announced.Yes, this episode goes into what is happening in various Reform led councils. Firstly, having decided that Musk's Doge has gone 'so well' in the States (spoiler alert, it hasn't, it's failed miserably', Farage has announced the same approach over here. Though they should really be using a different acronym. After all, how can you have a Department of Governmental Efficiency in action when they're not actually in government? Hmm. Anyway, they want to slash millions, billions even, the numbers quoted are huge, although when Lewis Goodall challenges Reform Chairman, Zia Yusef, on his wild figures, Yusef cites an unnamed think tank as his source. Seems reasonable. Pensions will go - not Farage's EU one to be clear, that's staying, obvs - meetings will be reduced and apparently a hit squad of talented experts will be instigating all of this, for free. Meanwhile, the Tories are having a mare. Jenrick is busy doing the media rounds but Marina has found some pretty incredible receipts. And Truss is in Hungary, wanging on about free speech and how she's had to go to Budapest to say what she wants. Each to their own. Some great underrated tweets and clips follow, plus the ladies explore the somewhat biased coverage of the man arrested for driving into the crowds of football fans in Liverpool. he lives in a cul de sac and that, apparently, means a lot. Pudding is by the phenomenal Larry and Paul Enjoy! Wagon wheels, mushy pea hummus and baked bean daal. Move over Rick Stein, there's new gastronomic broadcasters in town. Yes, food is the order of the day as the delectable George Egg rides into the studio to serve up a delicious Made Up Game for Elis and John. And the theme doesn't stop there, for before you can say ‘Ready, Steady, Cook' there's a longing for Great British puds and the question “why do chippies give you so many chips?”. In non-edible happenings will Elis continue to fail at connecting until death? That and much more in 56 minutes of digestible content.

This episode begins with Jemma and Marina explaining why they weren't aligned this week for pretty much the first time in Trawl history, though their disagreement was quickly put to rest once they'd consulted listeners and asked what you think. There's a quick goodbye to the MOTD version of Gary Lineker and then, it's straight into what's happening in politics here in the UK. However, before they get round to the newly announced Reform manifesto, they feel it's only fair to check in with Tory HQ. Someone's got to after all. There's not a huge amount to report apart from Kemi Badenoch being roasted by Trevor Phillips, Robert Jenrick turning into a London Underground vigilante with more than a dash of Alan Partridge and one very unaware tweet. Then it's time to break down some of what Farage had to say, only you'll be pleased to note that one clip of Natasha Devon will blow your mind and give you hope. It certainly had that effect on the Trawl ladies and begs the question why getting do Reform get so much airtime? When Farage starts lecturing women on what they should and shouldn't be able to decide about their own bodies, it's time to look at the kind of people who agree with him. Some hilarious takes follow; A bumper under rated clip and tweet section comes next and the clip of Trump being insulted and sulking like a petulant toddler is almost as funny as the one of a regretful Musk who is clearly not allowed to play with the big boys at The White House any more. Leader of the Lib Dems, Ed Davey, makes a good point about how well that's gone for him. Pudding ends the episode where it began with one from the Broken News vaults belonging to brilliant comedians, Larry and Paul. Enjoy! What can we say... Sadly, this pod isn't a laugh a minute, although Jemma does manage to squeeze in a little humour when discussing Marina's social algorithm which has taking scrolling to another level of doom. Jemma landed back from a few days away from the news to the harrowing events in Liverpool and the grim state of affairs that saw Merseyside police rush to declare the ethnicity of the suspect, yet seemingly this wasn't enough to placate the usual suspects who seemingly relish any opportunity to weaponize suffering for their own gain. Talk turns to the tragic events in Washington, where two Israelis were gunned down and Netanyahu's response which is a masterclass in gaslighting and responsibility shirking. The ladies discuss how the dehumanisation of Palestinians and devaluing of their lives has become so prevalent and share one powerful explanation by Israeli journalist, Gideon Levy. And while it was only last week that David Lammy declared suspended trade negotiations with Israel, just wait till you see what our UK trade envoy has been up to. Mystery May Edition!
This Trawl begins with a theological question inspired by Trump's wildly disrespectful sharing of an AI generated image of himself dressed as....the Pope. Yes, that's the point we've reached folks, the President of the United States is playing fancy dress for all the world to see. Marina's Catholic mother is not impressed! After a somewhat un Trawl like discussion about religion, the Trawl ladies move on to the latest in UK politics and the results from the local elections, which include Darren Grimes of GB News fame becoming a councillor (but not really understanding his job description) and Dame Andrea Jenkyns becoming Mayor of Greater Lincolnshire. Andrea wants to start off by firing all the Diversity officers in her council, only there aren't any. There are plenty of clips and tweets as you'd imagine, plus the backlash from Farage's speech where he has said he'll ban working from home. Marina and Jemma discuss why this is a fundamentally terrible idea for a myriad of reasons. They also talk through how Labour might, should and probably will react. Is a Reform victory at the next election a very real possibility? It certainly feels that way though a week is a long time in politics let alone a few years. Pudding is by the brilliant Cody DahlerEnjoy! George Herbert's poetry often draws on the natural world, gardens, and quiet reflection: 1. “The Flower” Theme: Renewal, the seasons of the soul, joy in growth Perfect for July because: It celebrates the resurgence of beauty and hope—after cold or darkness, flowers bloom again. “Grief melts away Like snow in May, As if there were no such cold thing.” “Who would have thought my shriveled heart Could have recovered greenness? It was gone Quite underground; as flowers depart To see their mother-root, when they have blown.” “Thy garden is not bare; And I shall find once more The sweet communion with thy saints.” 2. “Easter” Yes, it's tied to the holiday, but it also celebrates light and blooming. “Rise heart; thy Lord is risen. Sing his praise Without delays, Who takes thee by the hand, that thou likewise With him mayst rise.” Pair this with literal rising things—morning sun, lilies, tall foxgloves. 3. “The Pulley” Theme: Why God withholds perfect rest—so we seek Him. This works well in summer, when life feels abundant, but still leaves a twinge of longing. “When God at first made man, Having a glass of blessings standing by…” (and yet withheld rest, to draw man's soul back to God) A beautiful idea for a reflective pause among too-perfect blooms. 4. “Love (III)” Theme: Divine love, human unworthiness, and acceptance It's more theological, but gentle and moving—great for a quiet bench moment in a shady corner. “Love bade me welcome; yet my soul drew back…” “You must sit down,” says Love, “and taste my meat.” So I did sit and eat.” It pairs beautifully with the hum of bees and the hospitality of a garden. If you want a very short quote for your garden journal or bench-musing: • “Thou hast given me this herb of grace to smell and taste.” — from “Grace” • “Sweet rose, whose hue angry and brave…” — from “Virtue” • “He that in mirth and youthful jollity keeps measure, is more temperate than he that lets his sorrow flow out without check.” — from his prose The Country Parson *CraftLit's Socials* • Find everything here: https://www.linktr.ee/craftlitchannel • Join the newsletter: http://eepurl.com/2raf9 • Podcast site: http://craftlit.com • Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/CraftLit/ • Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/craftlit • Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/craftlit/ • TikTok podcast: https://www.tiktok.com/@craftlit • Email: heather@craftlit.com • Previous CraftLit Classics can be found here: *SUPPORT THE SHOW!* • CraftLit App Premium feed bit.ly/libsynpremiumcraftlit (only one tier available) • PATREON: https://patreon.com/craftlit (all tiers, below) ——Walter Harright - $5/mo for the same audio as on App ——Jane Eyre - $10/mo for even-month Book Parties ——Mina Harker - $15/mo for odd-month Watch Parties *All tiers and benefits are also available as* —*YouTube Channel Memberships* —*Ko-Fi* https://ko-fi.com/craftlit —*NEW* at CraftLit.com — Premium Memberships https://craftlit.com/membership-levels/ *IF you want to join a particular Book or Watch Patry but you don't want to join any of the above membership options*, please use PayPal.me/craftlit or CraftLit @ Venmo and include what you want to attend in the message field. Serves 4 Ingredients 4-6 bananas 3 tablespoons butter 4 tablespoons brown sugar a decent squeeze of lemon juice a pinch of salt 3 tablespoons brandy or rum (optional) softly whipped cream to serve Method Peel and slice the bananas into 2–3cm thick slices. Melt the butter and brown sugar together in a frying pan until bubbling. Stir in a squeeze of lemon juice and a pinch of salt. Place the bananas in the pan and cook in the bubbling sauce until softened but not mushy. Add the alcohol, if using, and let the sauce bubble for another 1–2 minutes. Serve the caramelised bananas smothered in sauce with a dollop of softly whipped cream. This recipe is featured in Nici's cookbook 'A Quiet Kitchen'. This week, the Straw Hats are riding a tidal wave of chaos—literally. With Pedro's sacrifice still fresh, Jimbei takes the wheel (and the spotlight) as he navigates the crew through a giant candy tsunami using some insane ship-surfing skills to fake their deaths and give them a shot at escape. Meanwhile, Luffy's stuck in Mirror World getting absolutely cooked by Katakuri, who's making it very clear that he's on another level. Outmatched and bloodied, Luffy orders Nami to destroy all the mirrors on the Sunny to prevent an incoming ambush, trusting that he'll figure the rest out later. And over in Chocolate Town, Sanji's gone full Iron Chef with Pudding and Chiffon, whipping up the ultimate wedding cake using nothing but his nose and a dream. Can they finish the bake-off in time to save the crew? Tune in to find out!LinktreeThank you for listening!Cake needs a little crunch~

The second Trawl in one week centred on the economic recklessness of Trump. But hey, when one guy's wiped nine trillion off global markets, there's a lot to unpack. There are theories as to why the Donald has chosen this path, some deeper than others. Jemma and Marina have clips to illustrate the first two and bleeps to cover up the third, which, to be fair, probably carries more weight. Do we want chlorinated chicken here? Some folk are fine with the notion, despite the reduced welfare standards and prospect of upset, American tums. Others not so much and others - like Lee Anderson - say bring it on, even if it would stuff British farmers. And of course there's Musk to consider - he's had a really full on couple of weeks, what with the protests and people hating him. Marina and Jemma don't exactly have the violins out. There's chat about delicious European food, under rated tweets and lots of funny bits. Cos what's the alternative? As the chaos in the Seducing Woods ramps up, the Straw Hats continue their frantic escape from Big Mom, who's literally tearing the forest apart. Nami makes a shocking power move by turning Zeus into her personal lightning pet, but even that isn't enough to stop Mama's wrath as Kingbaum is obliterated by Prometheus. Meanwhile, Pudding recruits Chiffon in a last-ditch effort to save Sanji and his crew. Chopper and Brook reclaim the Shark Submerge and rush back to the Sunny, only to find it swarming with Big Mom Pirates—including Perospero and Katakuri. Back on the battlefield, the Straw Hats take down a pursuit squad, but Big Mom keeps charging, undeterred by Nami's thunderbolt. As the dust settles, Pudding and Chiffon reach Sanji just in time, but Mama's not done yet—another massive attack is already on the way.LinktreeThank you for listening!Frozen acorns are a delicacy~
