YOU ARE NOT TOO MUCH: Giving Yourself Permission to Own Your Desires with Jeanette LeBlanc

Jeanette spent most of her life working very hard to be a good girl. One day she woke up and decided to write her way out of her own life - things haven’t been the same since. Single mama to two ridiculously unruly daughters, Jeanette believes in the smooth honey burn of whiskey, the crashing of mama ocean, pencil skirts, vintage band tees and fringed boots, the kinship of the wild wolf, walking for miles in unfamiliar cities, that the burn down always precedes the rise, the singular power of dark red lipstick and the necessity of putting out for the muse on the regular. Oh yea - and that sometimes our stories are the only things that can save us. The events of your past do not need to hold you back anymore. Your past does not need to dictate your future. Today, we take the first steps in making that mindset shift.   Meet Jeanette Schneider, the founder of Lore Advocacy, a network of professional women whose goal is to inspire women to change the world. Working with women across the globe, she's been studying how humans have been programmed to act, think, and behave in certain ways—and not always to someone's benefit. She has made it her life work to help people shares love letters written to their younger selves to help people discover the messages and lessons they were taught over the years that aren't true, but BELIEVE are true. Her new book "Lore: Harnessing Your Past to Create Your Future," challenges women to closely examine the stories that have shaped their lives. Her daughter, Olivia, helped her discover how this can start early on and how it even affected her over her life. Topics on this week's podcast include...How messages we receive from parents and our community growing up can keep us stuck as adults. Why being aware of the messages you tell yourself can help you be a more present parent and help your kids develop a healthier self-image.The importance of being clear about what you believe vs what you were raised to believe. How tapping into the signals our body and heart gives us can guide us to better decisions. How harnessing your past can help you push forward to the life you want to live. What words of wisdom from people about to leave life can teach us about living life today. How writing love letters to your younger self can help you heal your past and stepping powerfully into your purpose. Today Beryl is sitting down with Jeanette Nyberg -- a blogger, artist, and creativity pusher. She splits her time between her art blog, Craftwhack, and her lifestyle and humor blog, Lifewhack. She is the author of Tangle Art and Drawing Games for Kids, a fun drawing book that is absolutely not just for kids. Jeanette and Beryl had such a lovely conversation about fulfillment as a creative mom. She shares: Her transition from life as a working artist to life as a mom and how that opened the door for new ways of finding her creativity. The importance for moms and women to give themselves permission to go ‘off duty’ and create art or make crafts outside of the realm of being a parent. She’ll also introduce you to Tangle Art and share how it can be a form of fun and meditation for both kids and grownups alike! Find Jeanette here: Craftwhack and Lifewhack HOMEWORK: Beryl has two fun and FREE opportunities to work together in the coming weeks. First of all, the free mini class, One Ingredient Fix, returns on February 20th. In one week she'll teach you the key ingredient needed to change how you approach taking photos of your family and improve your picture taking right away.
