The Department of Applied Physics and Instrumentation offers courses in a number of areas: Instrument Engineering; Environmental Science & Sustainable Technology; Applied Physic & Instrumentation; and Specialist courses and Minor Awards.
This programme provides a comprehensive foundation in the physical sciences of physics and chemistry with other modules in mathematics, instrumentation, computer technology and biology.
Instrument Engineering is the specialisation that is centred on the principles of operation and applications of the diverse range of measurement and control instrumentation used to automate machinery and processes throughout industry.
This degree is recognised by the Institute of Physics. Graduates of recognised degrees qualify for Associate Membership upon graduation and may apply for full Membership after appropriate work experience.
