Wer am Tisch mit den Pflichtteilen sitzt, will wissen, wie groß die Torte überhaupt ist. Da kann man den Erben fragen – oder man schickt die Notarin, die alles aufnimmt und ein notarielles Nachlassverzeichnis erstellt. Etwa, weil man befürchtet, vom Erben hinter die Fichte geführt zu werden. Vielleicht hat man sogar konkrete Anhaltspunkte dafür, dass da etwas verschwiegen wird. Knifflig ist die Sache, weil beispielsweise auch Schenkungen aus den letzten zehn Jahren berücksichtigt werden können und sich so auf den Anspruch des Pflichtteilsberechtigten auswirken. Also sind Jahre an Kontoauszügen durchzuwälzen. Aber zurück zum Titel dieser Folge: Die Notarin rückt in der Regel auch aus und nimmt den Hausstand des Erblassers auf. Britta und Maraike berichten, wie unangenehm das sein kann. Und auch, wie viel Arbeit mit der sorgfältigen Anfertigung eines notariellen Nachlassverzeichnisses generell verbunden ist. Ein Umstand, weshalb manche Notare solche Mandate ghosten oder versuchen, sich auf andere Weise das Leben einfacher zu machen. Ein interessantes erbrechtliches Instrument. Die Kapelle bezahlen muss übrigens der Erbe – aber sie schmälert auch die Erbmasse. Und damit am Ende auch das Pflichtstück. This week on The Breggin Hour, Peter and I sat down with one of the more wonderful men we know: Sheriff Richard Mack, founder of the Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association, the Arizona sheriff who took the federal government all the way to the Supreme Court over the Brady Bill—and won. He has a new book. The title is deliberately offensive. He said so himself, and he meant it that way. The Democrat Murder of America: Demagoguery in the First Degree. The cover is a jackass in a patriotic hat, a knife in its hoof, stabbing the Statue of Liberty in the back. Sheriff Mack admitted it is horrible. That was the point. He wanted your attention. The book site is murderofamerica.com. There is an ebook at $14.92, an audiobook at $17.76, and a paperback at $26.76. They planned those numbers. Columbus. 1776. 2026. This is not a campaign pamphlet for a party. Sheriff Mack said it is not a pro-Trump book and not a pro-Republican book. It is a history book about what is being done to the country from within—and a manual for people who still believe the Constitution and the individual human being are worth defending. You cannot have communism and freedom That was the sentence he kept coming back to. Those philosophies are not cousins. They are not “different paths to the same good.” They are the antithesis of each other. Communism does not recognize civil rights. It does not honor the person. It tells you how many children you may have, what you may say, what you may own, and what you must obey. The promise of forced equality is a lie. The individual is erased. Peter and I have spent years saying the same thing in another language: collectivism—religious, political, or “scientific”—is the opposite of Christianity and of the American founding. The First Amendment begins with faith for a reason. A Creator who made each person in His image is not compatible with a state that claims ownership of the soul and rejects the individuality and unique qualities of each person. Sheriff Mack asked a question the media will not ask the new crop of openly socialist and communist candidates: What will you do with the people who refuse to cooperate? We already know part of the answer. We lived it. COVID was the rehearsal On the show, we talked about the last few years as if they were ancient history. They are not. Children locked inside. Playgrounds closed. Churches shuttered. Babies staring at masked faces for the first years of life. Australians held for months in camps. Planes on which you could remove the mask only to eat—so Sheriff Mack ate peanuts for hours, until they changed the rule to force the little ritual of pull-down, bite, pull-up. Control for control's sake. They learned that a “crisis of the day” can make Americans surrender schools, businesses, worship, and the Constitution. Justice Scalia, in the very case Sheriff Mack won, wrote that the Constitution protects us from our own best intentions. It divides power so we will resist the temptation to concentrate it as an expedient solution to the emergency of the moment. Never let a crisis go to waste. That is not wisdom. That is a method. If you think that chapter is over, Sheriff Mack's warning is simple: wait until the people who admired that machinery hold still more offices. **History they hoped you would forget** The book is full of names younger Americans were never taught. Nikita Khrushchev, General Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, told Americans they were gullible. You will not accept communism outright, he said. We will feed you small doses of socialism until you wake up and find you already have communism. We will not need to invade. We will destroy you from within. We will bury you. Sheriff Mack's argument is that a political movement inside the Democrat Party is fulfilling that threat—not because every Democrat is a villain, he said, but because the party's dominant direction is to replace the Constitution with something closer to Marx. He talked about Dorothy Kilgallen, the What's My Line television game show panelist and journalist who interviewed Jack Ruby and then died the same night her JFK notes disappeared—barbiturates and alcohol, ruled an accident, the same pattern as Marilyn Monroe. Vince Foster. The sudden expansion of Vietnam after JFK was gone. The deep state is not a new invention. He talked about CNN's Sarah Sidner, who came to his daughter's house, recorded eighty-five minutes, heard again and again why they were even talking—his Supreme Court victory against the Clinton Justice Department—and then went on Anderson Cooper and mentioned none of it. Peter and I know that pattern. We have been walked out of buildings we were invited into. YouTube banned us for life after we announced *COVID-19 and the Global Predators*. The media is not a referee. It is a participant. Elections, cities, and the Senate Sheriff Mack described a country in which a tourist from Buenos Aires can walk into a New York polling place, register without ID and without English, vote, and fly home to brag. He described the open talk of abolishing or neutering the Senate and packing the Court—so that a handful of giant cities decide the fate of small states. Destroy the Constitution, he said, and you destroy the country. He also said something we hear too rarely: there are good Democrats, including Christians, who have been lied to. The book is written to be handed to them. Start with the epilogue, he suggested. Then talk. That is not hatred. That is an invitation to wake up from indoctrination. The smartest person in the room, he said, is the one who can recognize his own brainwashing. A peaceful manual, while peace is still possible Peter's closing on the hour was short: buy the book. You are not only buying pages. You are supporting one of the great living voices for constitutional liberty in this country. Sheriff Mack and co-author Dan Perkins talked, while they were writing, about what happens if the book actually gains traction. They have already been smeared. They know the next step. Perkins told him he hoped their wives would be taken care of. That is not melodrama. That is what it costs now to say plain things in public. The alternative they offer is still peaceful: know the history, refuse the next crisis-of-the-day, restore local accountability, protect the sheriff's oath to the Constitution rather than to Washington, and come together as good people who still love this country. We are of a generation that did duck-and-cover, that watched people shot trying to leave East Germany, that saw COVID used as a nationwide obedience drill. Younger people have been propagandized in school and have not seen the same failures with their own eyes. That is why a book like this matters. It is a history lesson and a warning in one. Die Risiken sind enorm, wie man in den USA sieht, wo dieser Mechanismus zu einer Art Korruptions-Gamification führt. Man könnte den Eindruck bekommen, dass ein unschuldiger, schöner Mechanismus nach der Logik der Märkte in ein kapitalistisches Monster verwandelt wurde. Stimmt das? Und sollten wir uns darüber ärgern – oder das vielmehr als Gelegenheit erkennen, uns gegen derlei Mechanismen zu wappnen, um uns mündig zu entscheiden, wann wir uns gamifizieren lassen und wann nicht?

Tighter AI safety requirements could reshape the pace of AI investment. Ariana Salvatore and Michael Zezas dig into why the spending may shift toward more compute, not less.Read more insights from Morgan Stanley.----- Transcript -----Ariana Salvatore: Welcome to Thoughts on the Market. I'm Ariana Salvatore, Head of U.S. Public Policy Research at Morgan Stanley. Michael Zezas: And I'm Michael Zezas, Deputy Global Head of Research at Morgan Stanley. Ariana Salvatore: Today, we'll be talking about AI safety and regulation. It's Wednesday, September 23rd, at 10am in New York. We put out a note last week on AI frontier capability gain and the associated safety risks. Those have been in focus in recent weeks, and as a result, we've gotten a number of questions about the path forward for government regulation. So today, Mike and I are going to get into some of the newest developments, where we think things are headed, and how the midterms could shape that path. Michael Zezas: Yeah, and this is pretty important because the concern is that if AI safety scrutiny increases, it's going to slow everything down. You might have less CapEx, fewer model releases, and there's all sorts of downstream effects for the pace of U.S. growth and investment strategy in equities and throughout the AI investment theme. But Ariana, you and the team landed in a bit of a different place and are arguing that a bigger focus on AI safety could end up being a tailwind to compute spend rather than a brake on it. Can you break that down for us? Ariana Salvatore: Sure. So, the way we see this playing out, is there are five potential states of the world. Some include industry self-policing; some include the prospects for heavier government intervention. Across all of them, as you mentioned, we actually think this is a pretty big tailwind to compute spend and CapEx more broadly. That's because as the labs integrate greater safety monitoring infrastructure, we think that spend is only going to accelerate, especially as LLM capabilities increases at a nonlinear rate. Similarly, on the regulation front, we think there are a few things that prevent something like a large comprehensive AI regulation bill from coming to fruition. We think there's really three, kind of, key obstacles to something like that happening. The first is the politics. So, the president himself has said he's against some sort of large-scale regulation. The second is the procedure. So mechanically speaking, there would need to be a legislative vehicle for this sort of thing to ride on. That's hard to see emerging in the very near term. And the third is precedent. So, historical precedent here tells you that usually regulation is catalyzed by some sort of high salience event. That's why our framework for government reaction here hinges on two components: incident salience, as I just mentioned, and instrument availability. Instrument availability basically reflects the extent to which the government already has a tool that it can pull in this direction. So, that's how we think about it going forward. That doesn't mean all policy action is off the table, but that supports our expectation for higher CapEx, higher compute spend over the coming years. Michael Zezas: Right. So, the idea is that the spending continues and the things that would otherwise limit that spending, you don't see as real plausible policy options at the moment. And can you break this down a little bit more? Because I know there's a lot of different proposals floating around Washington, D.C. from policymakers right now. What are you paying attention to? Ariana Salvatore: We don't expect an overarching AI regulatory authority in the near term. Now, importantly, we also don't expect sweeping open weight model regulation. The reason for that is threefold. First of all, we think the U.S. is keen on maintaining this managed stability relationship with China. We've written about the expectations around the U.S.-China summit. That's kind of a delicate balance that we think is likely to persist. So, overly restricting open weights models might throw a little bit of a wrench into that equilibrium that we see. So that's the first reason. The second reason is diffusion. We think the U.S. administration wants to see the proliferation of open weights models. We know that companies are using some sort of hybrid of open and closed weight. So, to the extent that, you know, banning these models would slow adoption, we don't think that's in the interest of the administration. And the third reason is purely mechanical. It's really hard to enforce these sorts of restrictions. Once a model weight is published online, it can be really hard to clamp down exactly who and where it's going to. Obviously, companies can download them, customize them, et cetera. So, the enforcement picture here is also really challenging. That being said, we do think that the executive can continue to lean in and, sort of, make some incremental adjustments or changes on the regulatory front. But we think it's likely less severe than some of the proposals you're seeing in Congress right now. Things like the Kill Switch Act, for example, which basically mandate that companies can maintain an ability to shut down models at a moment's notice, right? If a certain threshold is crossed. So, that's something that we see as less likely to come to fruition. But again, setting safety standards, guardrails, all of that from the administration we think is possible in the near term.Michael Zezas: What about some of the pushback that would at least appear to be rising at the state and local level around construction of data centers? Is that something that you think might materially slow the industrial build-out and the CapEx levels around AI? Ariana Salvatore: So far, what we've seen is that AI safety risks are not the top of the priority list when it comes to data center pushback, right? So, things like environmental concerns, affordability – those tend to be the main vectors of the opposition. That being said, we've gotten the question, right, to your point, of does this, sort of, risk focus mean that the data center backlash is likely to grow? We think that it could, but at the same time, we think this is a highly idiosyncratic issue, meaning that this is something to pay attention to on a very granular level. Certain states and localities will be the ones to really administer these restrictions, and we think in the aggregate, hyperscalers are going to be able to continue to mitigate. We've already seen these mitigation measures employed. We're still constructive on AI CapEx this year and next, because overall, we see the build-out really becoming more of a conditional build-out. So, that means contingent upon some of these concessions, maybe it's more expensive in certain areas. But overall, we don't think that the concerns around safety are going to derail that story. Michael Zezas: So, then when it comes to data centers, the conditions that might be being put on their construction at the state and local level, for the most part – those building out the data centers have been willing to make those concessions, so it hasn't slowed that much. Is that fair? Ariana Salvatore: That's right, and it really depends on where the pushback is coming from, right? So, in some cases, you're seeing communities push back on things like water usage, right? And we're seeing the hyperscalers come out and respond and say explicitly, you know, how much water they're using in some of these operations. Google is proposing a regulatory framework, so that's something that they're mitigating through that lens. In another example, you've got local communities pushing back on just, sort of, disruptions to quality of life, and you're seeing companies like Meta announce a fund to engage more locally there.So, it really is different. There's no one-size-fits-all solution here. But yes, I agree with you that overall, we don't think this is going to meaningfully constrain the build-out. Michael Zezas: Got it. So, it seems like the idea here is that the secular trend around AI development is going to continue in your view. Is there any way that you think the midterm elections or the outcome around that might change your thinking? Ariana Salvatore: So, I think the midterms will be important for sentiment, but when it comes to the actual policy path, we don't think they're the main driver, and there's two key reasons for that. The first is obviously the president is not changing until 2029. So, the fact that President Trump still has to be involved in any capacity – if we were to see a bill emerge from Congress to us gives a little bit of clarity on what that bill could actually look like. And so ultimately, whatever comes to fruition will have to be a product of collaboration between Democrats, Republicans in Congress, and the president. So, that's a pretty much a constant. The second reason I would say is because, as I kind of alluded to earlier, you tend to see government response when there's a high salience event. And in that case, it doesn't really matter what the government configuration is if it's reactionary. When you think back to things like the pandemic, we saw the CARES Act. In 2008-2009, you saw the ARRA. Those are all efforts that were produced in a divided government. And so, in that vein, we basically think that you need to see some sort of event catalyze a response. The key driver is not going to be government configuration. It's going to be the salience of that event specifically. Michael Zezas: Okay, got it. So, the guidance to investors on the back of all of this is what? Ariana Salvatore: So, the thematic recommendations from our team are intact, right? So, what we were talking about is basically we see these all converging towards a tailwind to CapEx and a tailwind to compute supply. So, in that vein, we still think that you should own inference compute bottlenecks because of that excess demand relative to supply. We think that's going to persist regardless of most of the policy scenarios. We also think own leaders in cybersecurity, as we mentioned. This should drive increased spend, especially as open weight models become much more capable. And then in the third piece, we think you should own AI adopters. AI models are already pretty capable to drive significant productivity. We think that that's just going to continue to unlock. The last thing I would mention, we didn't really get into it in this podcast, but in this conversation we typically also talk about AI sovereignty and the U.S.-China restrictions here. So, in that context, we would avoid negative exposure to rising U.S.-China technology transfer restrictions. We think that's an increasing probability because we do see the governments taking more of an active role, which we think drives bifurcation of the global market. Paul mentions some musical instruments when he is talking about speaking in tongues and prophesying to the church at Corinth. This church is seeking spiritual gifts with such passion but they have left out love, in particular, Agape love, or unconditional love. They are more concerned about the spiritual gift they have and whose is better! Paul is making a point that, when one speaks in tongues, they are talking it God and only God can understand it, therefore, the people who hear them gets nothing from it. If they would seek to prophesy instead, they will speak out loud, in a language that all can understand, and the entire body would benefit from what God says through that individual! He uses the flute, trumpet, and harp to clarify his point. He says they are dead; they are useless without someone blowing breath through them or plucking the strings. God wants to use us like these instruments, but He wants us to edify one another with the gift, or gifts, He has given us...not be selfish with them!

In dieser Folge von TICHYS Rechtsstaat spricht Rechtsanwalt Tobias Gall mit Rechtsanwalt René M. Kieselmann über diesen brisanten Fall und den erfolgreichen Kampf vor dem Verwaltungsgericht Stuttgart gegen den Entzug der Waffenbesitzkarte. Kieselmann ist spezialisiert auf EU-Vergaberecht sowie Sicherheitsrecht und bringt langjährige Erfahrung aus dem Sicherheitsdienst, dem Katastrophenschutz sowie der Militärpolizei und dem Waffenrecht mit. Gemeinsam diskutieren sie, wie Behörden das Waffenrecht zweckentfremden, um es als scharfes Instrument gegen unliebsame Meinungsäußerungen einzusetzen. Dabei würde es schon riechen kritische Stimmen unterhalb der Strafbarkeitsschwelle zu sanktionieren, indem die „waffenrechtliche Zuverlässigkeit“ allein aufgrund politischer Missliebigkeit abgesprochen wird. The fire-breathing Pharisee who was breathing threats and murder against the disciples is sovereignly stopped by Jesus Himself, struck blind, and then given both physical and spiritual sight. God not only saves this foremost of sinners—He commissions him as a chosen instrument to take the light of the gospel into a dark world. This text reminds us that every true conversion follows the same pattern: we were headed in the wrong direction, God apprehended us by His grace, He opened our eyes, and He put us into service. What happens when an AI agent fails, and how can enterprises prove they saw it coming? On this episode of TSIA's TECHtonic, Thomas Lah takes on one of the most important questions facing organizations moving AI from experimentation into the enterprise: How do you prove that AI is actually delivering the outcomes you promised? Drawing on TSIA's Five Proofs of Outcome-Based Revenue, Thomas and guest Sekhar Sarukkai unpack why proof of performance and telemetry are becoming essential to proving business value. Sarukkai, a serial entrepreneur who previously founded Skyhigh Networks and Securent, now leads Chatsee.ai, which recently raised $6.5 million to build what he calls a failure intelligence layer for AI agents.The conversation takes a revealing look at what really goes wrong when AI agents enter the real world. After analyzing 10,000 enterprise agent failures, Chatsee identified 157 distinct failure categories, and found that hallucinations account for less than 10% of actual failures. Instead, enterprises are facing bigger and often invisible challenges around resolution, escalation, silent execution, and the growing gap between pre-deployment controls and runtime governance. Thomas and Sekhar also unpack the hidden economics of AI failure, including how a seemingly minor error can quietly spread through downstream systems for weeks. Sekhar introduces a framework for measuring direct loss, propagation, detection delay, and reversibility, while making the case for shared accountability across enterprises, AI platforms, and integrators.If your organization is serious about moving AI agents into production, and proving the value they deliver, this is a conversation you'll want to hear.
