Max checks in from a musty Missouri hotel while earning his Light Sport Repairman certificate, and the guys detour through GA maintenance, Starbase, RTA wizardry, and the ongoing decline of 123.45 as a social network. Mailbag covers Sugar Alpha, Qantas' ultra-long-haul A350 plans, where Spirit's pilots and traffic may have landed, and whether 21.Five needs a Discord server. In Flight Advice, Dylan and Max tackle the stereotype that pilots are destined to cheat—and how couples can build trust, recognize real red flags, and keep the hotel-bar lifestyle from becoming a relationship MEL. bto - beyond the obvious 2.0 - der neue Ökonomie-Podcast von Dr. Daniel Stelter

Das 2025 verabschiedete US-Bundesgesetz GENIUS Act (Guiding and Establishing National Innovation for U.S. Rob Zettel joins Dylan and Max to tell the story of flying MiG-21s and MiG-23s with the USAF's secretive Red Eagles under the Constant Peg program. For professional pilots, it's a fascinating look at training, aircraft handling, risk management, and what happens when experienced aviators are handed an airplane with no two-seat trainer and no simulator. Rob gets into fighting frontline U.S. fighters in the MiG-21, taking the MiG-23 to Mach 2.35, handling a serious hydraulic failure, and later trading Cold War fighters for a career at United and the 757. Unternehmensstrafrecht „light“: Geldbußen in Millionenhöhe Deutschland kennt kein echtes Unternehmensstrafrecht. In the spring of 1783, with the Revolution all but won, the most dangerous enemy of the United States was its own army. Unpaid for years, cheated of their promised pensions, the officers camped at Newburgh, New York, had every reason to be furious — and an anonymous letter, circulating hut to hut, told them the time for begging was over. A faction of politicians in Philadelphia, led by Alexander Hamilton, saw in that fury a weapon they could use to force a helpless Congress into line. Their cause was just. Their argument was strong. And it led straight to the edge of a military coup. This is the story of the Newburgh Conspiracy — the crown George Washington had already refused, the rival general willing to hold the match, and the afternoon in a hall called the Temple when General Washington answered a righteous, well-armed anger not with force but with a pair of spectacles and a few tender words, and stopped the thing cold. It is the moment America stood at the line that has swallowed almost every republic in history, and did not cross it. Caesar crossed it. Cromwell crossed it. Why didn't General Washington?

Fr. Mike highlights the works of King Cyrus, who we met yesterday, and how he is able to contribute to the will of God without actually knowing him. Cyrus not only shows us that no soul is ever too far for God's grace, but that God makes all things new, and is able to bring beautiful blessings from the most desperate situations. Today's readings are Isaiah 45-46, Ezekiel 6-7, and Proverbs 12:9-12. For the complete reading plan, visit ascensionpress.com/bibleinayear.

The vocalist and musician plays the duduk, an ancient double reed wind instrument carved from apricot wood, which has cultural ties to the country. Last October, KQED's Elize Manoukian brought us this profile about how Khatchadourian is preserving culture through sound. Small Ring, Big Dreams: The Central Valley's Backyard Wrestling Underdogs If you turn off Highway 99 just north of Stockton, you'll find the 209 Dragon's Den. The venue is wedged between a private home, a plant nursery and a barn, offering one of the humbler places to tangle in the independent wrestling scene. Since it launched about a year ago, it's been drawing wrestlers from around the state. But the 209 Dragon's Den isn't just a place to bring the community together– it also helps wrestlers better understand themselves and their sport. In March, reporter Hannah Weaver took us ringside. We often think of health as something that's built through food, movement, sunlight, sleep, and the choices we make each day. But what if one of the most influential forces shaping our terrain isn't something we consume, but rather the people we surround ourselves with?In this conversation, we sit down with author, explorer, and former Global Citizen executive Michael Trainer to explore the science and philosophy of resonance: the idea that our nervous systems, our biology, and even our sense of purpose are constantly being tuned by the relationships and environments we inhabit.Drawing from years spent studying with indigenous wisdom keepers, neuroscientists, spiritual leaders, and health researchers, Michael shares why loneliness has become one of the defining health challenges of our time, how our relationships influence everything from emotional resilience to physical health, and why finding your own "unique song" may be one of the most important acts of healing.Along the way, we discuss the biological effects of coherence, the power of community, the role of music in human connection, what ancient cultures can teach us about belonging, and why the strongest medicine doesn't come from a bottle, but from the quality of the people and places that shape us.If Terrain Theory is about creating the conditions for life to flourish, then this conversation asks a deeper question: Who—and what—are you allowing to tune the instrument that is you?Learn more about Michael and his work:https://michaeltrainer.net/Purchase Resonance: The Art and Science of Human Connection:https://resonance.biz/Support Terrain Theory on Patreon! Jonathan Healey, The Blazing World: A New History of Revolutionary England, 1603–1689. In 1649, Charles I was tried and executed in public, a shocking event that horrified European monarchs. The segment explores the establishment of the Protectorate under Oliver Cromwell as Lord Protector. John Lambert drafted the Instrument of Government, England's first written constitution, which included checks and balances and religious protections for Protestants. Although Cromwell refused the crown, his rule relied on military strength and the imposition of Puritan values, such as banning Christmas celebrations. Upon Cromwell's death in 1658, his son Richard failed to maintain control, leading the nation back into political chaos. (6)2650

We thought we would discuss critical thinking and how it applies to today's propaganda-laden world. And we did. But the conversation quickly turned into a luminous, expansive exchange of knowledge, opinions, and faith, especially between Dr. Fox and Dr. Breggin. Dr. Fox has an open and warm demeanor that radiates care and affection when he greeted us. Dr. Andrew Fox is an Anglican priest who now lives with his wife in the heart of Texas, where he has settled after immigrating from the United Kingdom. He became an American citizen and shared with us about how happy he is to be here in the United States. We exchanged stories about the unexpected and delightful joy with which recent World Cup tourists coming to America for the first time shared their experiences on social media. Europeans discovered how beautiful, engaging, friendly, welcoming, fun, and (the food!) delicious America is. Then they shared all of that on social media, red-pilling their friends and families and helping Americans feel proud again after these terrible post-COVID years. After the show, I enjoyed reading Dr. Fox's blog on this topic, “The World Cup: America's Greatest Untapped Form of Diplomacy.” Dr. Fox introduced his forthcoming book: Truth in the Age of Applause: How Stupidity Is Ruining the American Dream. We discussed critical thinking and how it and civil dialogue are essential for challenging harmful ideologies while maintaining respect for authority—particularly said Dr. Fox– in scriptural contexts. The conversation explored the differences between Old and New Testament perspectives on Jews as the Chosen people, with Dr. Fox commenting that while the Old Testament focused on a specific tribe's witness to one God, the New Testament emphasizes an egalitarian approach where all people are children of God. We discussed how modern concepts of relativism [the philosophical belief that nothing is objectively true or universally applicable] have been misused to undermine truth, particularly in debates about biological reality and gender identity, with Dr. Fox noting that reality doesn't change regardless of opinions. I discovered after the interview that Dr. Fox has spoken the truth very actively rather than seeking applause. Dr. Fox had served eight years as Austin City Fire Chaplain when, in 2021, he wrote a blog arguing that men should not compete in women's sports due to biological differences between the two sexes. According to the Christian Post: Months later, Fox was dismissed when officials decided that his efforts to apologize to unnamed offended parties were not sufficient, as he refused to recant his views on LGBT issues. In August 2022, Fox filed a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas, alleging that AFD officials “retaliated against him for exercising his First Amendment rights, violated his First Amendment right to free speech and free exercise of religion, and violated the Texas Constitution.” On March 3, 2026, the city of Austin reached a $78,000 settlement with former Austin City Fire Chaplain Andrew Fox, according to the Alliance Defending Freedom. Dr. Fox does not seek applause. He seeks truth. Separated instrument retrieval remains one of endodontics' most technically demanding—and humbling—procedures. In this episode of Endo Voices, Dr. Marcus Johnson joins internationally recognized clinician, researcher, and educator Dr. Yoshi Terauchi for a highly technical yet practical exploration of the science and strategy behind predictable instrument retrieval. From cyclic and torsional fatigue to canal curvature, fragment location, and CBCT assessment, Dr. Terauchi explains why successful retrieval begins with diagnosis, visualization, and disciplined treatment planning.Dr. Terauchi shares the principles behind his systematic approach to retrieval, including strategic dentin removal, ultrasonic technique, bypassing, and the clinical application of the Yoshi Loop. The conversation highlights the delicate balance between persistence and preservation: when does continued retrieval become more damaging than the fragment itself? Along the way, Drs. Johnson and Terauchi discuss secondary fracture, apical displacement, pericervical dentin preservation, tactile sensation, and those difficult cases in which the separated instrument lies beyond the curvature.Episodes of Endo Voices may include opinion, speculation and other statements not verifiable in the scientific method and do not necessarily reflect the views of AAE or the sponsor(s). The healing power of love, creativity, and faith Peter Breggin MD & Ginger Breggin Mon Jul 6 The Breggin Hour Cultural Wars, Faith, Family Life, Health   It was one of those recording sessions that lingers in the heart long after the microphones are turned off. On a recent afternoon, Peter and I had the profound privilege of speaking with Dr. Francis Christian—a gifted surgeon, poet, professor, and thinker whose life embodies the integration of science, art, and deep faith. His latest book of poems, To a Nurse Friend Weeping, published by a small Canadian house, and his Substack (francischristian.substack.com) reflect a man who sees the full spectrum of human experience: suffering, joy, and the creative spark that connects us all to something greater. Dr. Christian joined us as we explored themes close to our own lives—especially in this season of recovery and reflection following Peter's stroke. The conversation flowed naturally from the personal to the cultural, touching on what it means to be fully human in a world that often fragments us. Reconnecting Medicine to the Human Story As a professor of surgery at the University of Saskatchewan, with expertise in trauma and oncology, and a former director of patient safety and quality improvement for the province, Dr. Christian could easily have focused solely on technical excellence. Instead, he founded the Surgical Humanities program and served as founding editor of the Journal of Surgical Humanities. He explained it beautifully: “Unless you're acquainted intimately and engaged with the human story, how can you actually treat the human being?” The humanities—literature, poetry, music, and visual arts—remind physicians, residents, and students of the narratives behind the patients they serve. He shared how he witnessed talented young people set aside their creativity under the pressures of training, only to become cynical. The program sought to reconnect them: through an annual musical evening with an orchestra of physicians, nurses, and students, and a journal that welcomed high-literary-quality pieces from medical voices or non-medical perspectives on medical themes. Creativity isn't a luxury; it is essential to wholeness. As Dr. Christian noted, we are created in the image of God, the Master Creator. To be fully alive is to create—to engage with joy, sorrow, suffering, and relief in ways that science alone cannot teach. For those of us who have faced illness or cared for the sick or wounded, a physician who is truly present—who hears you, respects your humanity—becomes part of the healing itself. Sexuality, Sublimation, and the Gifts of Commitment A recent essay on Dr. Christian's Substack moved me profoundly. In it, he explores the sublimation of sexual energy into creativity and the devastating cultural costs of the sexual revolution. He spoke with poetic respect about human desire—not as mere biology or casual encounter, but as a profound drive that, when channeled with reverence, fuels art, poetry, family, and civilization itself. He drew on John Keats' “Ode on a Grecian Urn,” where the lover's unfulfilled yearning becomes eternal beauty: “Bold lover, never, never canst thou kiss… yet do not grieve… for ever wilt thou love, and she be fair.” For centuries, Christian civilization elevated this longing toward the prize of marriage—a sacred house of fulfillment, commitment, and creative partnership in raising the next generation. The sexual revolution of the 1960s, he observed, lowered the “price” of sex, especially for men, through the pill, abortion, and cultural shifts influenced by feminist and Marxist ideas. What was promised as liberation has delivered falling birth rates, crashing below replacement levels, declining testosterone, less satisfying relationships, sky-high divorce rates, and energies diverted from family into ideologies. Birds, he noted wryly, often show more fidelity than this new mammalian norm. We spoke of the sadness for young people today—burdened by debt, indoctrinated to view children as encumbrances, and offered casual encounters via apps instead of the depth of lifelong trust. Yet there is hope. Some younger generations seem to be turning toward virtue, early commitment, and building families with community support. Peter and I shared from our own journey: the joy of treasuring one another, the self-sacrificial love that grows stronger through trials, and how God's grace sustains it. Peter reflected movingly on how, since his stroke, he has seen God's love through my care for him—and how it has drawn us both closer to the Divine. “Treasure other human beings,” he urged, especially the young. “Dare to love. You'll get hurt, but the more you love, the more you help others become loving.” Dr. Christian echoed this in referencing agape love—the selfless, giving love modeled on the cross. He reminded us of St. Paul and Jesus' mission: to heal the brokenhearted, set the bruised at liberty, and proclaim good news. His hope, like ours, is that people find new life at the foot of the cross and in the resurrection's promise of eternal meaning. A Call to Treasure What Matters This conversation left us refreshed and reminded of what civilization truly rests upon: deep respect, creative fullness, committed love, and faith. In a time when so many forces seek to cheapen human connection, we are called to nurture love like a garden, to greet “that of God” in one another (as the Quakers say), and to resist the fragmentation of modernity. Dr. Francis Christian's life and work stand as a witness: a surgeon who operates with skill and soul, a poet who finds beauty in the weeping and the joy. I encourage you to visit his Substack and explore his poetry. In a world hungry for authenticity, voices like his point us back to what is true, good, and life-giving. Peter and I continue to learn, day by day, about the miracles of recovery, partnership, and grace. We pray this hour of reflection blesses you as it blessed us—to love more boldly, create more freely, and trust in the God who made us for relationship. Thank you, Dr. Christian, for sharing your wisdom and your faith. We had such a wonderful conversation with Rainer Zitelmann on The Breggin Hour — the kind that leaves you feeling hopeful about the future while reminding you how important it is to keep fighting for truth, freedom, and justice. Rainer is a historian, a sociologist, and an author who has written more than thirty books, including two that really caught our attention: In Defense of Capitalism: Debunking the Myths and his latest, New Space Capitalism. He joined us from Berlin, and right away, you could feel his warmth, curiosity, and genuine excitement about big ideas. Why Capitalism Still Matters   Rainer has been sounding the alarm about the dangers of socialism for years. When he warned about it eight years ago, some people rolled their eyes and said, “Who believes in socialism anymore?” Well… here we are. The financial heart of the US and one of the greatest American cities, New York City, has now elected its first Democratic Socialist Mayor, Zohran Mamdani. Rainer would have preferred to be wrong, but events keep proving his point. He loves good discussion — even when people push back hard. As he put it, the stages are: first, they ignore you, then they attack you, and eventually, they say they knew it all along. The Space Revolution Happening Right Now One of the most exciting parts of the interview was hearing Rainer talk about the new space age. He told the story of Elon Musk's early dreams of making humanity multi-planetary — a vision that started with a crazy idea and a trip to Russia to buy rockets (where they apparently weren't too impressed at first or maybe thought he was a US agent trying to steal their space technology!). Fast-forward, and SpaceX is now launching more rockets than entire countries. Rainer pointed out that last year, SpaceX alone did more launches than all other nations combined in many categories. The reusability of those rockets — something governments struggled with for decades — has dramatically cut costs. He explained the difference in incentives: under the old government model, higher costs often meant higher profits for contractors. With private companies like SpaceX, lowering costs means bigger success. That simple shift changes everything. The Power of Private Property — Even in Space Rainer made a strong case that private property rights will be essential if we really want to open up the Moon, Mars, and beyond. The 1967 Outer Space Treaty says nations can't claim sovereignty over celestial bodies, but Rainer believes treating space like a giant “commons” won't work any better than it has on Earth. He imagines settlers claiming manageable areas (think the size of Singapore on Mars), turning them into investment and shared-ownership opportunities. His vision is optimistic — not just for billionaires, but for regular people who could one day own a piece of humanity's future in space. Unbreakable Spirit We also talked about Rainer's book Unbreakable Spirit, about people who overcame enormous challenges — born blind, paralyzed, or facing other severe obstacles — yet lived lives of remarkable achievement. He shared the story of Ray Charles, who took full responsibility for both his successes and his struggles. That kind of spirit moved us deeply, especially given Peter's own recovery journey after his stroke. Rainer's admiration for people who refuse to see themselves as victims really comes through. It's the same attitude he sees in the great entrepreneurs pushing humanity forward. A Warm Message of Hope Listening to Rainer feels like talking with a friend who still believes in big dreams and human potential. He loves the American spirit of bold goals and personal responsibility. As he quoted Robert Zubrin: “Freedom will give us space. Space will give us freedom.” Whether it's defending capitalism here on Earth or imagining humanity's next steps among the stars, Rainer reminds us that real progress comes from freedom, courage, and the willingness to take responsibility for our own lives. We thoroughly enjoyed this conversation and highly recommend checking out Rainer's books — especially In Defense of Capitalism, Unbreakable Spirit, and New Space Capitalism. They're full of that rare quality, hope, as well as clear thinking and fresh perspective at a time when we need both. Meet the Guest Rainer Zitelmann is a historian, sociologist, entrepreneur, investor, and internationally bestselling author. He holds doctorates in history and sociology and has authored or edited 31 books translated into 35 languages. His books include New Space Capitalism: The Entrepreneurial Path to the Stars, In Defense of Capitalism, The Power of Capitalism, and How Nations Escape Poverty. His work has appeared in the Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Newsweek, Fox News, The Daily Telegraph, Le Monde, and numerous international publications. ______   Learn more about Dr. Peter Breggin's work: https://breggin.com/   See more from Dr. Breggin's long history of being a reformer in psychiatry: https://breggin.com/Psychiatry-as-an-Instrument-of-Social-and-Political-Control   Psychiatric Drug Withdrawal, the how-to manual @ https://breggin.com/a-guide-for-prescribers-therapists-patients-and-their-families/   Get a copy of Dr. Breggin's latest book: WHO ARE THE “THEY” - THESE GLOBAL PREDATORS? In this session from the 7th Annual HVACR Training Symposium in Florida, Eric "Elk" Kaiser delivers a comprehensive workshop on airflow testing and measurement. Eric opens by challenging technicians to think beyond simply pointing an instrument at a duct and reading a number. Before selecting any tool, he argues, professionals must understand exactly what they are measuring — whether that is velocity, pressure, volume (CFM), or the mass weight of air — and why each of those values matters for designing ductwork, sizing equipment, and delivering comfort to customers. The session sets the stage for a deeper technical conversation about the physics of air and how those physics affect measurement accuracy in the real world. A significant portion of the presentation focuses on air density and how it affects the accuracy of common industry formulas. Eric walks through the origin of the widely-used 1.08 and 4.5 airflow constants, explaining that they are derived from a theoretical "standard air" condition of sea level pressure (14.7 PSIA) and 0% relative humidity — conditions that virtually no technician encounters in the field. He demonstrates how changes in altitude, temperature, and humidity all shift air density, causing those constants to become variables. For technicians working at elevations above 2,500 feet, the density difference can exceed 10%, enough to significantly skew BTU calculations and equipment performance assessments if left uncorrected. Eric also walks through a real-world scenario involving measurements taken across an operating evaporator coil, where a 3.4% density shift between return and supply could easily be misread as duct leakage. The workshop then moves into a thorough survey of airflow measurement instruments and the specific conditions each one is best suited for. Eric covers vane anemometers (large and mini), hot wire anemometers, pitot tubes, flow hoods (passive and active/fan-powered), flow boxes, the temperature rise method, and the digital TrueFlow grid. For each tool, he discusses accuracy considerations, density correction requirements, velocity limitations, placement requirements, and common mistakes. He is candid about the limitations of manufacturer performance charts, sharing a behind-the-scenes look at how one manufacturer evaluated static pressure using a six-foot plenum and four averaging probes — conditions that bear no resemblance to a cramped residential closet with a coil slammed on top of the furnace. The takeaway is that no chart, regardless of source, should be trusted without understanding the conditions under which it was created. Throughout the session, Eric emphasizes a core professional philosophy: understand your instruments, understand their limitations, and understand what level of accuracy is truly needed for the job at hand. He introduces the concept of stacked inaccuracies — where instrument error combines with density correction error to produce readings that can mislead technicians into diagnosing problems that do not exist, or missing ones that do. He concludes with a strong endorsement of the digital TrueFlow grid for residential applications, highlighting its app-based forecasting feature that allows technicians to predict whether a new piece of equipment will work on an existing duct system before the installation begins. The session closes with audience Q&A covering topics such as using density-correcting instruments to compare supply and return readings, and measuring airflow in systems with multiple filter grilles. Topics Covered What airflow measurement actually captures: velocity, pressure, volume (CFM), and mass weight of air — and why the distinction matters The origin and limitations of the 1.08 and 4.5 airflow constants, and when technicians must correct for non-standard air conditions How air density changes with altitude, temperature, and humidity — including a 22% density drop from sea level to 5,000 feet elevation Real-world example: how a 3.4% density shift across an operating evaporator coil can be mistaken for duct leakage Instrument selection overview: large vane anemometers, mini vane anemometers, hot wire anemometers, pitot tubes, and in-duct flow devices Passive vs. active (fan-powered) flow hoods — accuracy differences and the importance of using residential hoods for residential applications Proper probe placement for in-duct measurements: ASHRAE guidelines, straight-run requirements, and how turbulence affects readings Duct traverses: log Chebyshev point averaging vs. timed traverse methods, and best practices for each Manufacturer performance charts and external static pressure testing: how lab conditions differ from field conditions and why charts can mislead Motor types (PSC, constant torque ECM, constant airflow ECM) and how motor behavior affects static pressure measurement and airflow setup Manometer selection: resolution, accuracy, auto-zeroing features, and why a precise-looking display does not equal an accurate reading Temperature rise method for estimating airflow: appropriate uses with electric heat, and limitations with gas furnaces Digital TrueFlow grid: application for residential retrofit work, CFM forecasting, and evaluating existing duct systems before equipment replacement Audience Q&A: density correction on supply vs. return readings, multi-grille TrueFlow workflows, and commercial system setup strategies   You can watch the flow hood comparison video by TruTech Tools HERE.
