Mit diesem Format innerhalb des Podcasts möchte ich euch einen wertvollen und bereichernden Blick über die eigentlichen Grenzen Dangasts hinaus unterbreiten.Und diese erste Ausgabe ist direkt ganz besonderer Natur, weil der Dancast diesmal sprichwörtlich und im wahrsten Sinne "goet". Denn die Episode entstand in voller Gänze auf dem Fahrrad. In a generous act of grace and kindness, our guest on The Breggin Hour invited Peter Breggin to share his perspectives on being a head injury patient. After over 60 years of helping patients and vulnerable persons to understand and overcome head injuries and brain damage from psychiatric drugs, electroshock, and lobotomy, Peter suffered a stroke in August of 2025. Vor 20 Jahren fegte Hurricane Katrina über die Gegend und hinterliess grosse Zerstörung. In der Folge gründete der Bundesstaat eine Küstenschutzbehörde, die sich dem Meer entgegenstemmt. Der Mississippi hätte dafür ein wichtiges Instrument sein sollen: Massenhaft sollten mit «Diversionen» Flusswasser und Sedimente in die Feuchtgebiete geleitet werden, um sie zu nähren – und um neues Land zu bilden. Am «Nepunte Pass», an einem natürlichen Seitenarm des Mississippi, sieht der Wissenschaftler Alex Kolker Beweise dafür, wie der mächtige Fluss Land bildet – wenn man ihn lässt. Doch Fischer kämpften gegen die Sedimentumleitung, weil sie wegen des Süsswassers um ihre Austern und Shrimps fürchteten. Der Gouverneur von Louisiana stellte sich auf ihre Seite und stoppe zwei Diversionen. Damit fehlen zentrale Projekte im Kampf gegen den Landverlust. Die Zukunft von Louisianas Küste ist ungewiss.

Die Einführung des digitalen Euro wurde schon vor fünf Jahren diskutiert, jetzt scheint die Realisierung des ambitionierten Projekts näher zu rücken.2029 soll es soweit sein, wenn auch heute noch unklar ist, wie genau das digitale Zentralbankgeld im Euro-Raum genutzt werden kann. Aber plant die Europäische Zentralbank tatsächlich lediglich ein verbraucherfreundliches Instrument, das das Leben der Konsumenten vereinfachen soll? Nein, der digitale Euro ist auch ein geopolitisches bzw. geoökonomisches Projekt, mit dem die EU der Dollar-Dominanz aus Washington etwas entgegensetzen will. Die Botschaft als Wort in der Politik umfasst sowohl die Behörde als auch deren Auftrag: Die Botschafter sind die Träger der Botschaften als Nachrichten. Die Botschaften sind institutionell wie inhaltlich an das entsendende Land gebunden. Botschaften sind diplomatische Vertretungen von Staaten und in der Regel den Außenministerien unterstellt. Während die Außenmininsterien die internationale Politik ihres Landes umfassend, auf einer geopolitischen Ebene vermitteln, sind die Botschaften auf das jeweilige Land zugeschnitten, in dem sie das Heimatland vertreten.Botschaften als Behörden sind ein wichtiges Instrument der Diplomatie. Über sie werden die Kontakte zwischen den beiden Staaten gepflegt, Probleme auf den Tisch gebracht und nach Lösungen gesucht. Zumindest sollten sie das. Botschaften sind ein wichtiges Instrument gegen Eskalation und für Verständigung. Wenn eine Botschaft Stellungnahmen des eigenen Staatsoberhauptes auf ihre Webseite stellt, dann richten sich Geste und Inhalt zuerst an die für die Außenpolitik zuständigen Beamten des Gastgeberlandes.Das heißt natürlich nicht, dass diese Adressaten exklusiv sind. Was sich unter anderem daran zeigt, dass Botschaften auch gezielt Medien Angebote machen, um Botschaften einem größeren Kreis als dem der politischen Beamten zugänglich zu machen. Deshalb verfügt auch die russische Botschaft in Deutschland über eine Pressestelle und gibt auf ihrer Webpräsenz Pressemitteilungen heraus (1). Umgekehrt sollte es für Medien zur grundsätzlichen Aufgabe gehören, die offiziellen Lautsprecher des Landes, welches gerade redaktionell im Fokus steht, routinemäßig, regelmäßig abzurufen. Und das tun die etablierten Medien offenbar nicht.Wer aber nicht in der Lage ist, seine Hausaufgaben zu machen, läuft Gefahr, ins Dümmliche abzugleiten. Läuft Gefahr, zu raunen und zu spekulieren, um sich damit etwas ins eigene Weltbild Passendes zurechtzustricken. Das gilt für Politiker und Medienleute gleichermaßen. Man muss sogar sagen, dass es für die deutsche Gesellschaft als Ganzes gilt. Unverdrossen läuft man weiter seinen eingebleuten ideologischen Vorurteilen hinterher.Das Dümmliche klingt dann so: „Rätsel Putin — Was er will, wo er haltmacht“ (Tagesspiegel) (2); oder so: „Was will Putin mit seinem Krieg erreichen?“ (ARD) (3). Von den ARD-Sendeanstalten wird mangels echter Expertise auch gern mal mit anonymen Polit-Kommentaren hantiert und ein solcher liest sich dann so:„Ein großes Problem der russischen Kremlologie besteht in dem Versuch, bestimmte Handlungen oder Pläne der obersten Nomenklatura als rational darzustellen, insbesondere in der Öffentlichkeit. Eine grosse Mehrheit der Kantone spricht sich dabei für die EU-Verträge aus. Doch so klar scheint die Haltung innerhalb der KdK nicht zu sein. Denn rund ein Drittel der Kantone setzen sich gleichzeitig für ein Ständemehr an der Urne ein, was die Chancen auf ein Ja stark mindert. Wie geeint sind die Kantone also wirklich? Und spielen sie mit dem «Ja-aber» den EU-Gegnern in die Hände? Ebenfalls in die Schlagzeilen gerieten die Kantone kürzlich, weil sie das sogenannte Kantonsreferendum gegen die Individualbesteuerung ergriffen haben, ein politisches Instrument, das äusserst selten zum Einsatz kommt. Insgesamt zehn Kantone sprachen sich damit gegen die Reform des Steuersystems aus und erzwangen eine Volksabstimmung über das Bundesgesetz zur Individualbesteuerung.
