Co-hosts Sophie and Maddie are coming in HOT to the podcasting world to discuss navigating life in your twenties and all things college related. Turn the volume up and prepare to meet the two new best friends you never knew you needed.
We missed some prime opportunities to chime in on the pop culture tea over the last few months. With a quick recap on Peter’s season of The Bachelor, we weigh in on how chaotic the season and its ending was, and our thoughts on Peter and Kelley pursuing a relationship after the show wrapped. We don’t blame you Peter, it’s no secret that Chicago girls are elite. Then, because we love you all, we discuss the phenomenon of men who wear chains (24:50). Where and when do they buy them? Is there a special meaning? Do girls love it or hate it? We had so many questions, so we did our research, asked you guys for your thoughts, and have all the tea! We finish up answering some of your questions (46:20): shows to binge watch in the q, first time drinking experiences, and most importantly the best thing to order at Sonic! This is one of our favorite episodes and we laughed A LOT, hope you guys do too!
In this episode, we dive back in and talk about where we are now after our nine month hiatus, some changes and the future of the pod, and address the two biggest elephants in the room on planet earth right now: the Call Her Daddy situation and COVID-19. Sofia, knock it off! You guys asked for our thoughts on what’s going to happen with CHD and we delivered, plus we give a little summary of what’s going on for those who live under a rock (9:16-42:53). Then, we address the pandemic and get very vulnerable, open, and honest about how we feel and how this is impacting us individually (49:40). Things get a little heavy as we bring light to the topic of mental health, but we hope everyone knows they’re not alone no matter how they’re feeling and it’s okay not to be okay, always, but especially right now. We know this is a change of pace for us but we’re excited to be back and hope you guys enjoy! An editing note: all of this was recorded on 5/20, except for the CHD section which was recorded today (5/26) - sorry for any confusion with the audio!
This week the duo recaps the chronicles of one of the best weekends of the year - dad's weekend. Charter Buses, Coolers, and Angry Managers! Oh My! Then they talk about the phenomenon of THE CHASE, discussing what it is, why it's so important to keep up with, and what makes it so thrilling. As they finish up the episode talking about just how far girls are willing to push the limits when they're in "chase mode", Maddie shares the cliff-note version of a story they'll get into at a later date regarding one of her longest and most brutal chases of all time.
This week, S&M take a break from their busy week of studying to catch up with each other and raise awareness about what the youth is up to on "Tik Tok". Then they get onto the topic of doing the walk of shame, exit strategies, and awkward situations. They wrap up by sharing some fun stories surrounding the topic and previous experiences, to include the infamous Bank of America story. While this week may be a little slower and unorganized, don't miss out on one of their most important tales to tell (we love you Clifford!).
On this episode, S&M give their two cents on relationships in college. They explore the different types of prominent relationships patterns and couples they see on campus. Later, they get into a heart to heart conversation where they chat about their personal thoughts and experiences with relationships in college, define what a healthy relationship is to them, and then discuss (and laugh about) their lists of qualities they look for in an ideal relationship. At the end of the day, they settle on the idea that they'll forever date each other. This one was a fun, yet vulnerable conversation - turn the volume up and listen in on their unfiltered girl talk.
Welcome to the first episode of Calling in Thicc and S&M's journey of conquering the podcasting world. As they return to the new school year as upperclassmen, they decided to impart their "wisdom" onto listeners (whether they like it or not) and give a few tips as everyone gets settled back onto campus. They laugh through this episode as they dive into the basic topics of Shacking Etiquette, the Do's and Don'ts of Tindering, and a recap of Syllabus week. Grab your backpacks because class is in session!
