Destiny swapping is a widely debated topic. The idea that a person can somehow take your fate and swap it with theirs…is rooted in deep levels of jealousy. To the point that it can impact someone's life and take their blessings, or so it's believed. It's much more than a friend trying to dress like you or steal your partner. They are trying to latch onto who you are, your personality, your hopes and dreams. Some say that you can sense it happening. A person will insert themselves into your life, and all of a sudden you start to lose focus, you can't even seem to make your own decisions. Valeria had no idea, but someone very close to her was seemingly jealous of her. Netizens believed that this person was so envious, that she'd kill Valeria to take her fate. This is the case of 23 year old Valeria Marquez And how she was shot and killed during a TikTok livestream. We're continuing our celebration of nine years of Two Girls One Ghost with the second half of our two-part deep dive into the Grand Canyon, where we investigate the baffling disappearance of honeymooners Glen and Bessie Hyde. Their dangerous journey down the Colorado River ended with an intact boat, a journal, and decades of theories involving murder, a skull, secret identities, and a woman who claimed years later that she was Bessie herself. Then we head 210 feet underground to explore the haunted Grand Canyon Caverns, a place filled with forgotten remains, Cold War secrets, prehistoric creatures, and a hotel room surrounded by total darkness and near-total silence. If your revenues are at least in the seven figures, go to https://NetSuite.ai/Theory.The team reacts to DSA-affiliated activist Tracy Rosenthal, who—per the reporting the host cites—has withheld an estimated $108,000 in rent and openly encourages tenants in their building to do the same, with their landlord reportedly an immigrant now losing the building. The host is careful to say he hasn't independently verified every detail, but uses it to make his central argument: that "just don't pay rent" activism, however it's framed as helping the poor, actually lands hardest on the people it claims to protect. He argues Rosenthal—whose father he says is a multiple-Grammy-winning musician and who grew up wealthy—has a safety net ("they can always go back to mom and dad") that the working families they're advising do not, so when a landlord can no longer maintain or run the building, tenants end up in unmaintained housing, and those who join rent strikes risk landing on tenant-screening "do not rent" lists that follow them, push them toward fewer economic opportunities, and make housing harder to secure. He frames the whole thing as reasoning from resentment—aimed at hurting a perceived "capital class"—rather than from what actually helps poor people, and warns that if you make it impossible to run housing as a business, the only remaining owner is the government, which can only subsidize until the "engine of prosperity" breaks. He argues this path repeatedly ends in stagnation, using Cuba as his example. The team reacts to Mayor Mamdani's new video targeting Amazon's delivery model—where drivers wear Amazon branding and follow Amazon-set routes and hours but are technically employed by subcontractors—and his support for the Delivery Protection Act, which would push responsibility for those workers back onto Amazon. Drew presses the steelman throughout: if the setup is illegal or strips workers of deserved protections (the way the Uber/Lyft contractor debate played out), shouldn't the government step in? The host agrees that if a company is breaking the law you enforce the law—but argues this specific move is a case of a candidate promising affordability while doing something that will make deliveries more expensive, calling the two goals "matter and antimatter." His core argument is about preserving choice: independent-contractor status is a real tradeoff that many workers actively want (flexibility, control), and banning it doesn't magically convert those into higher-paying jobs—companies instead do less, automate, or leave, and a subclass of lower-skilled workers loses the on-ramp entirely. He draws the Uber-beat-the-taxis parallel, argues minimum-wage hikes disproportionately wipe out teen and entry-level jobs, and points to Austin and Houston loosening building regulations to bring housing costs down as evidence that over-regulation is often the choke point. He frames the government's proper role with a sports metaphor—referees who set and enforce fair rules are essential, but when the refs outnumber the players and start tripping the best performer to even the score, the whole game gets worse. Threaded through is his contested thesis that this is driven by resentment and an "overproduction of elites," and a nuanced exchange with Drew about when market intervention is genuinely warranted versus when it becomes a barnacle. The team digs into three new Google research papers that, in the host's read, show large language models already outperforming human doctors—even in the messy, sometimes adversarial reality of real patient interactions. The host, careful to stay honest about both AI's risks and its capabilities, walks through the numbers: in a randomized clinical exam of 100 scenarios across 300 live video consultations with patient actors, graded by 20 board-certified physicians, the AI scored 83% to the doctors' 68%, with correct first-guess diagnoses at 91% vs 77%, clinical reasoning 90% vs 76%, guiding a physical exam over video 72 vs 39, and—strikingly—empathy rated higher for the AI (82 vs 71), echoing earlier findings in AI therapy studies. The AI also finished exams slightly faster. A second paper tracking patients across three visits with shifting symptoms found the AI's care rated appropriate 95% rising to 98% by the third visit, while human doctors actually got worse over follow-ups (72% to 81%)—which the host speculates is because doctors "back off too soon" once they think they've found the answer, whereas the AI keeps refining. A third paper used reinforcement learning across 57,000 simulated encounters—including thousands where patients actively try to deceive the doctor, hiding medications or insisting chest pain is just heartburn—with up to 60 conversational turns, producing a model that beats the already-superior AI 87.6% of the time head-to-head. The host argues the gap will likely keep growing, predicts that within a few years failing to at least consult AI could be treated as malpractice, and forecasts a near-term future of human-assisted-by-AI care rather than fully autonomous machines—because AI is probabilistic, not deterministic, so a human stays in the loop the way pilots remain in an autopilot cockpit. His bottom line: this is one of those cases where the technology may genuinely become what we hoped for, even if the economic transition to get there is turbulent.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
Texas holds the second-most electoral votes in the nation and is often a testing ground for policies that later manifest across the U.S. But can historically Republican Texas turn blue? And if so, what impact could it have on the rest of the country? We speak to two Democratic contenders hoping to shift the next election. In this episode, Maria Hinojosa speaks with Gina Hinojosa, a Texas State Representative and the Democratic nominee running for Governor of Texas. They discuss key issues like data centers, abortion access and education – and why the outcome of this race has national implications. This is a Graves Talks CLASSIC EPISODE! PART TWOThe Playboy Mansion has long been known as a symbol of luxury, excess, and celebrity—but behind the image lies a side of the house few people ever talk about. In this episode of The Grave Talks, Bridget Marquardt shares her personal experiences inside one of the most famous homes in the world, and the moments that didn't quite fit the narrative.Beyond the parties and public persona, there were instances that felt difficult to explain—subtle shifts in the environment, unexplained sounds, and the sense that certain spaces held more than just history. For those who lived there, the mansion wasn't always just a backdrop for nightlife. As Bridget reflects on her time inside, the conversation turns to what may still linger within those walls—and whether a place so full of energy and emotion could hold onto something long after the spotlight fades.Because sometimes, even the most glamorous places have stories that were never meant to be seen.#TheGraveTalks #PlayboyMansion #BridgetMarquardt #HauntedHollywood #GhostStories #ParanormalPodcast #HollywoodMystery #HauntedHouse #CelebrityGhostStories #SupernaturalEncounterLove real ghost stories? At twelve years old, she already hated being alone in her father's old house. Something about it had always felt unsettling, but one night while babysitting her younger siblings, that feeling became something much harder to dismiss.Around 2:30 in the morning, she woke to footsteps outside the bedroom and watched someone she recognized moving repeatedly between the hallway and bathroom. Eventually, the figure stopped in the doorway and stared directly at her.She called his name. More than once. Then the real boy appeared—sleepy, confused, and clearly dressed very differently from the person she had just been watching.Years passed before she found something she had kept from that night. And while telling the story again, something happened to it.#RealGhostStories #GhostStories #Doppelganger #Paranormal #HauntedHouse #TrueGhostStories #Mimic #HauntedObject #ScaryStories #Unexplained Love real ghost stories? From the moment she first stepped inside her friend's old house, something about it felt wrong. Strange things happened often enough that the family had almost become accustomed to them, including sightings that were difficult to dismiss as imagination. But one night, while a group of friends sat together talking, something happened that unsettled everyone in the room. She asked her friend's brother a question and clearly heard him answer. So did everyone else. There was just one problem: he hadn't spoken. His mouth never moved; he wasn't even looking at her—and the voice that sounded exactly like his seemed to come from somewhere just behind him.Love real ghost stories? It started with people insisting they had seen her in places she had never been. A coworker spotted her upstairs in the library. A friend waved to her across campus. A professor spoke to someone who looked exactly like her.Every time, she had an alibi. At first, it seemed like nothing more than a strange coincidence—a student somewhere on campus who happened to look remarkably similar. But the sightings became harder to dismiss, especially when people who knew her well began describing encounters that made no sense at all. Then, after weeks of hearing about this other version of herself, she finally came face-to-face with her.Who was the woman everyone kept mistaking for her? And why had she been appearing long before she ever allowed herself to be seen?#Paranormal #GhostStories #Doppelganger #Unexplained #ParanormalEncounter #CampusGhost #Supernatural #CreepyStories #TrueGhostStory #UnexplainedPhenomena Love real ghost stories? She'd lived in plenty of places before and never believed a house itself could be haunted. If anything strange happened, it always seemed connected to her—not the building. Then she moved into a townhouse where one bedroom felt wrong from the very beginning. The uneasy feeling never spread beyond that room, but it also never went away. After a terrifying encounter beside her bed, she decided to cleanse the space, convinced it would finally bring some peace. Instead, the very next night, she woke to the overwhelming sensation that something was leaning over her in the darkness... and she couldn't shake the feeling that whatever had been there wasn't happy she'd tried to make it leave.#RealGhostStories #HauntedBedroom #GhostStories #Paranormal #Smudging #GhostEncounter #HauntedHouse #SpiritActivity #TrueGhostStory #GhostlyEncounters #ParanormalActivity #UnexplainedLove real ghost stories? Happy Sunday, Heal Squad! Welcome to The Sunday Set Up, part of our new Heal Squad Weekend. Life lessons to help you start the week. This week, we explore why so much of life comes back to letting go… of outcomes, expectations, and the belief that happiness is waiting somewhere on the other side of the next accomplishment. We talk about the advice “not postpone your happiness,” and how easy it is to convince ourselves we'll be happy WHEN: we get the promotion, the money, the relationship, the house, or finally accomplish the thing we've been chasing. We talk growth mindset, doing your best without being attached to the outcome, and how sometimes real growth isn't pushing the rock harder…it's realizing you can finally put it down. We go deep into Kev's Speaker Emporium and Pagers, conversion vans, 80s sound systems, ”play personnel” skating-rink hot chocolate, the questionable love of vending-machine chicken soup, and the arrival of Halloween decorations. This week, ask yourself: What happiness am I postponing? What am I pushing too hard to control? And what might happen if I did my best… and then simply let go? Have a great week, Heal Squad. Mike talks to director Lee Kirk about his new Green Day comedy, Nimrods, which follows a group of teenagers who road-trip to Los Angeles for the chance to open for their heroes, Green Day, on New Year’s Eve. Lee shares how he first connected with Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong, the real-life band stories that inspired the movie, and what it was like directing a cast that includes Green Day playing themselves, Mason Thames, Mckenna Grace and Lee’s wife, Jenna Fischer. In the Movie Review, Mike talks about Super Troopers 3. The troopers try to bring down a new drug ring, while Farva's wildly over-the-top engagement to Thorny's sister spirals into chaos. Mike talks about why he thinks this proves comedy movies are dead, why Broken Lizard's comedy has aged poorly and what movie they should have made instead of this one. In the Trailer Park, Mike talks about Jumanji: Open World where the in-game avatars Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, and Karen Gillan enter reality stuck in malfunctioning "demo mode," forcing real-world humans to step inside the game to fix it. Mike shares why people are outraged at Sony and the Rock’s Top 10 highest grossing movies. Get tickets to see NIMRODS in theaters August 14th! New Episodes Every Monday! Jo Piazza is the bestselling author of Everyone Is Lying to You, The Sicilian Inheritance, and her newest novel, The Parisian Heist, and the host of the Under the Influence podcast. Kate and Jo open by tracing the origins of trad wife culture on social media, discussing Nara Smith's recent rejection of the tradwife label on Call Her Daddy, and whether a new wave of trad wife horror novels signals a real cultural shift or simply a more extreme splintering of the trend. The conversation then turns to The Parisian Heist, a dual timeline mystery following an American art student in 1990s Paris entangled with a powerful art dealing family, alongside the real history of Jo van Gogh Bonger, the sister in law who single handedly built Vincent van Gogh's legacy after his death, with Jo discussing her research trips to Paris and Auvers sur Oise and how the 2025 Louvre jewel heist informed the novel's climax. Welcome back to Impact Theory, I'm Tom Bilyeu. Today, we're cutting through the noise around artificial intelligence—addressing both the real and overblown fears dominating the headlines. Together with Derek Thompson, we're taking a hard look at where AI is actually headed: from viral but out-of-touch startup launches to the unprecedented investments pouring in from America's biggest tech giants. We'll explore whether the AI sector is in a dangerous bubble or just getting started, what the US-China AI arms race means for the future, and how these innovations are reshaping everything from our jobs to our culture. We'll also confront the tough ethical questions—like the destruction of rare books for AI training—and what all of this means for you, me, and everyone trying to navigate this seismic technological shift. In a small Wisconsin town, everyone seemed to know the story of the girl who had died at an old country church—and the legend that said she could still be seen if someone rang the bell after dark.So one night, a group of teenage girls decided to find out for themselves. They drove out to the isolated church, wandered around the cemetery, and eventually managed to strike the bell high above them. The sound rolled through the darkness, and for a moment they simply waited to see if anything would happen. Then one of them looked up.What she saw in the bell tower sent them racing for the car—and she soon discovered she wasn't the only one who had seen it.#RealGhostStories #GhostStories #HauntedChurch #BellTower #UrbanLegend #Paranormal #TrueGhostStories #HauntedWisconsin #ScaryStories #GhostStory Love real ghost stories? Late one moonless night in rural Mexico, a young couple slipped away together and began walking miles through the darkness toward a new life. Then a glowing ball of fire appeared beside the road.It seemed to launch from the trees, disappear ahead of them, and return again and again as they walked through the night. It never came close. It never seemed to threaten them. But it also didn't seem willing to leave. For decades, the family wondered what had accompanied them that night. Then, more than 60 years later, someone heard their story—and had a startling reaction.#RealGhostStories #Paranormal #Unexplained #StrangeEncounters #UFO #BallLightning #UnexplainedPhenomena #TrueStories #Mystery #HighStrangenessLove real ghost stories? She had known the old bar practically her entire life.Everyone in town had heard the stories—the former hotel rooms upstairs, the Prohibition tunnels below, the mysterious woman employees sometimes saw, and strange sounds that seemed to belong to another era. She had eaten there, had drinks there, and never thought much about any of it.Then she noticed a help-wanted sign. She already had a job. She wasn't looking for another one. Yet after leaving the bar that night, she couldn't stop thinking about going back.Eventually, she applied. In the days after her uncle died, the family stayed close together, sharing memories and trying to get through the grief. More than once, they had the feeling he was still nearby. A curtain moved without a breeze. The dog reacted strangely near the basement where he had spent so much of his time. Then, the morning after the funeral, her aunt noticed a terrible smell coming from the kitchen and traced it to a forgotten bag of potatoes sitting on the hardwood floor. When she lifted the bag, everyone came running.Because underneath it was an image so specific—and so closely connected to the man they had just lost—that the family immediately wondered if this was more than a strange coincidence.#RealGhostStories #GhostStories #SignsFromBeyond #AfterDeathSigns #Hummingbird #Paranormal #LifeAfterDeath #LovedOnes #Unexplained #GhostStory Love real ghost stories? This is a Grave Talks CLASSIC EPISODE!There's something unusual surrounding Ellijay, Georgia—and it goes far beyond local legend. In this episode of The Grave Talks, the team behind Unknown Ellijay—Brad Kennedy, Luke Pilgrim, and Ellis Treece—share what led them to explore one of North Georgia's most quietly active paranormal hotspots.Through their docuseries, they've documented real accounts of unexplained encounters, from sightings in the dense Appalachian woods to stories tied to homes and land with long, unsettled histories. What drew them in wasn't just the stories themselves, but how often they seemed to repeat—and how many people were willing to share similar experiences. As they discuss their work, they explore the line between folklore and firsthand encounters, and why some places seem to hold onto more than just history.Because sometimes, what's hiding in plain sight isn't trying to stay hidden at all.For more information, visit their website at sozobearfilms.com and watch the series on their YouTube channel by clicking here.#TheGraveTalks #UnknownEllijay #Cryptids #BigfootSightings #Dogman #HauntedSouth #ParanormalDocumentary #AppalachianMystery #SupernaturalEncounters #ParanormalPodcastLove real ghost stories? This is a Grave Talks CLASSIC EPISODE! PART TWOIn 1901, legendary author Edith Wharton built The Mount—a grand summer estate meant to be her personal retreat from the world. Yet more than a century later, her words still ring true: “I don't believe in ghosts, but I'm afraid of them.” Over the years, the mansion's beauty has been shadowed by stories of disembodied voices, footsteps echoing through empty halls, and an unshakable presence that lingers long after the guests have gone. From its transformation into a girls' school to a theater troupe's residence, The Mount has accumulated layers of emotion, history, and mystery. Now, Crypto Paranormal Investigations, led by Miranda Arthur-Smith and Nick Smith-Koblitz, ventures into its opulent yet haunted corridors to uncover what still stirs within its walls. In this chilling episode of The Grave Talks, they share their findings, experiences, and evidence from one of America's most literary hauntings. This is a Grave Talks CLASSIC EPISODE!When Jill Shelly purchased an 1861 Masonic Lodge in Keithsburg, Illinois, she wasn't exactly a stranger to haunted properties. As the owner of the infamous Boyd House, she had already spent years investigating the unexplained. But her newest property came with mysteries all its own.Built as a Masonic Lodge, the historic building would take on other lives over the generations, including time as a hotel and, according to local stories, possibly a brothel. And since Jill took ownership, investigators have reported voices, shadow figures, unexplained sounds, and EVPs—including what appear to be the voices of children.Who—or what—may still be lingering inside the 1861 Lodge? Happy PotLuck Saturday! This week, we are joined by Heather Bifulco of Tidy Style. We talk about how organizing creates peace, if not happiness. How forcing yourself to organize can force you to assess the various pain points in your life that you are unaware of. We talk about how we underestimate the damage pain points do to our lives when they are added up. How organization begins with categorization and should always begin in the kitchen. And how visibility is accessibility—and the cure for all of our mismatched Tupperware. Happy PotLuck Saturday! We'll Talk Shawtly! This week we're breaking down a 75-year Harvard study that found the biggest predictor of a successful adult by age 25 wasn't grades, test scores, or extracurriculars, it was whether they did chores starting at age three or four. We get into why that is, plus three rules for making chores actually work in your house (hint: don't pay for them). We also share an easy first-date hack from Logan Ury (whose new Netflix show, The Later Daters, we mentioned last week): ditch the small talk and jump straight into the middle of a story instead. It works for any nerve-wracking new-people situation, not just dates. Plus, a simple nightly ritual called C.A.P. (Celebrate, Appreciate, Prioritize) to close out your day, a few decluttering tips for a clearer mind, and some sentences that we can't stop thinking about. This month a federal watchdog raised the alarm over thousands of staffing cuts at the Federal Emergency Management Agency. On this week's On the Media, an episode from our miniseries American Emergency, all about FEMA: the agency that steps in when large-scale catastrophes like wildfires, floods, and hurricanes strike. Despite its vital work, the agency is widely despised and mythologized – and it's fighting to stay alive under the Trump administration. In this episode, which first aired in the spring, OTM co-host Micah Loewinger tells the origin story of FEMA — which initially focused less on disaster relief and more on plans to save the government from nuclear attack. The agency's secrecy inspired wild conspiracy theories and paranoia among far-right groups, including the fear that FEMA is building camps to detain citizens and stifle political dissent. The episode culminates with a never-before-told story of a plot to stalk FEMA's top brass in the nineties. A massive new review pooling 113 clinical trials and almost 8,000 people just weighed in on whether collagen supplements actually work, and Chalene Johnson breaks down what the research really found for skin, joints, and muscle, tied to the estrogen drop behind midlife skin changes.
