This week, Kevin has lost his voice, so in his place we welcome a very special honk-based replacement guest who may or may not be an actual honk-girl (spoiler: it's Amelia Marino, Doughboys associate producer, professional poop-reviewer, and reluctant TikTok comment-section warlord). We cover the essentials: why air conditioner repairmen are secretly all undercover conservatives who gaslight you about humidity, the deep lore of curly hair maintenance, and a heartfelt tribute to Mr. Biao, the TikTok legend who dries wet things and wets dry things for reasons no one can fully explain. We also get a rare and vulnerable look behind the curtain of Amelia's ongoing identity crisis: she's tired of being known for her poop-adjacent humor and wants a full image rebrand. So we workshop options like Amelia Bedelia, Ameals on Wheels, and Salvation Armelia, none of which fully escape the poop of it all. Along the way: a surprisingly deep dive into the emotional economics of being a Doughboys PA, a mutual confession of unclockable improv-anxiety, a very good "Scorpion Tales" podcast pitch involving Amelia's dad, and a rousing round of "What's Kevin's Deal" that gets solved almost immediately, threatening the very structure of the segment itself. Also: bug reviews, marine biology dreams, thrifted Brooks Brothers sweater vests, and a passionate defense of humidity as a personality trait. This week's focus is mental health, chronic illness, honking, and the eternal question of whether you can ever truly rebrand away from diarrhea-heavy content. Learn more about your ad choices. One trial is live. One retrial is more than a year out. Tony Brueski takes listener questions on both in a single combined cut. His guest is Robin Dreeke, retired FBI Special Agent and former chief of the Bureau's Counterintelligence Behavioral Analysis Program. The Lindsay Clancy trial is in the middle of medical testimony at Plymouth Superior Court, with the case expected to run six to eight weeks and more than a hundred and eighty witnesses on the list. Two treating psychiatrists have testified they saw no psychosis. One of them acknowledged she does not think she has ever treated a patient with postpartum psychosis, a condition that affects roughly one to two mothers per thousand births. The Alex Murdaugh retrial is tentatively set for April 5, 2027 before Judge Debra McCaslin. Pretrial proceedings are running out of Lexington County. Prosecutors have moved to admit his 2023 trial testimony and to bar polygraph evidence and third-party guilt. The defense has demanded a fresh Brady and Giglio search with written certification inside thirty days, independent DNA testing, and a change of venue.Different states, different crimes, different defendants. What lines up is the fight over what the record does not contain and who is responsible for that.Lindsay Clancy has pleaded not guilty to three counts of first-degree murder and is presumed innocent. Her defense argues she was not criminally responsible. Alex Murdaugh's convictions were overturned by the South Carolina Supreme Court. He awaits retrial and is presumed innocent. He has denied the killings throughout.Robin Dreeke takes all three segments and listeners run the questions. Postpartum psychosis affects roughly one to two mothers per thousand births. 988 is available if you need it.END LINKSJoin Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/ Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? One line of forensic testimony in the Lindsay Clancy trial has convinced an enormous number of people that her husband was the one holding those exercise bands. Search Lindsay Clancy fingerprints and you will find it everywhere, usually with his name attached to it.Trooper Jonathan O'Loughlin testified that investigators recovered no usable fingerprints from the knife or the three bands. If her prints were not on them, the argument runs, somebody else was holding them. Tony Brueski takes that argument seriously enough to check it against the rest of the same testimony. Then he keeps going down the list. What a forensic toxicologist told the jury about the four medications in her blood. What an interior bedroom door actually does. Who was on the other end of two phone calls that evening and what they heard. Who is testifying at Plymouth Superior Court, and which of those witnesses are named in the civil suits. And a phone conversation from the first anniversary that has been sitting in the open for two years while everyone argued past it.There is a difference between no usable fingerprints and no DNA, and the two keep getting blended together. Her DNA was on those bands, and both sides agreed to it in open court. On August 4 she answered the judge out loud, more than once, agreeing that the Commonwealth would not have to prove certain forensic facts about the blood, the bands and the DNA. Her attorney told the court they had not been contesting the government's case in chief at all.If you have argued about this case with anybody, get the whole list first. Then argue.END_LINKS:Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/ Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Self respect has nothing to do with the approval of others, or reputation, but it is about discipline and honesty and doing the brave thing. Facing accountability is self respect. Assessing risks worth taking and taking them, is self respect. Facing the things you've ignored is self respect. "It is the phenomenon sometimes called alienation from self. In its advanced stages, we no longer answer the telephone, because someone might want something; that we could say no without drowning in self-reproach is an idea alien to this game. Every encounter demands too much, tears the nerves, drains the will, and the spectre of something as small as an unanswered letter arouses such disproportionate guilt that one's sanity becomes an object of speculation among one's acquaintances. To assign unanswered letters their proper weight, to free us from the expectations of others, to give us back to ourselves—there lies the great, the singular power of self-respect. Without it, one eventually discovers the final turn of the screw: one runs away to find oneself, and finds no one at home." Have you done everything right and still watched the scale refuse to move? I sat down with fitness industry veteran Chalene Johnson, who built her career telling women exactly how to lose weight, and then walked straight into that same wall herself in perimenopause. Her hormone panel came back "dialed in." She was still doing every workout, every macro track, every habit that used to work. The weight stayed anyway, until she found the piece nobody had pointed her toward, the link between cortisol, insulin resistance, and a metabolism that stops cooperating no matter how hard you push. We get into the stress inventory that changed her day almost overnight, why she traded daily cardio for heavy strength training, her honest concerns about GLP-1s, and the Harvard longevity data that convinced her friendship matters more for a long healthy life than anything you'll find in a gym. Timestamps: 0:00 — Doing everything right and still gaining weight in perimenopause 4:36 — How the fitness industry sets women up to fail on purpose 12:00 — Hormones "dialed in," weight still not moving 13:14 — The cortisol and insulin resistance connection nobody explained to her 13:57 — The stress inventory exercise that changed her days 23:39 — Why she traded cardio for heavy strength training 25:48 — The identical twin study on muscle, memory, and cognition 27:55 — Her honest concerns about GLP-1s and rapid weight loss 33:49 — Why community predicts longevity more than diet or exercise 36:03 — Rapid fire: supplements, sunlight, and energy vampires 42:08 — Camp Be More and where to find Chalene Memorable Quotes: "I have my hormones dialed in, but when I was working with an integrative medical doctor who would look at my panel, she's like, 'Your cortisol is through the roof.'" — Chalene Johnson "The machine needs for you to not succeed so that you believe, okay, something else is going to work for me." — Chalene Johnson "We can't heal a body we hate." — Dr. Anna Cabeca Key Takeaways: A "perfect" hormone panel doesn't rule out cortisol and insulin resistance quietly driving weight gain underneath it Writing out every stressor and circling only what you control turns "reduce your stress" into something actually doable Lower body strength training, not cardio, was the single habit Chalene says moved the needle most for her body and brain The identical twin study she references found more lower body muscle correlated with better memory and cognition at 50 and beyond Rapid weight loss without addressing muscle and detoxification support can cost you the two things that matter most for longevity Community, not diet or exercise, was the strongest predictor of quality of life and lifespan in the longest running Harvard longevity study Vitamin D from sunlight and magnesium are the two non negotiables in Chalene's own daily routine FAQ Why do I keep gaining weight in perimenopause even though my hormones are balanced?  For many women, hormone balance is only part of the picture. Cortisol and insulin resistance can quietly drive weight gain even when a hormone panel looks well managed. Addressing stress load and metabolic health alongside hormones is often the missing piece. Does stress actually cause weight gain, or is that oversimplified? Chronic stress raises cortisol, and elevated cortisol is linked to increased insulin resistance and a slower metabolic rate. This isn't about willpower. It's a physiological chain that can work against weight loss efforts regardless of diet and exercise habits. Is strength training better than cardio for women in midlife? Strength training, particularly lower body work with adequate weight, supports muscle retention, bone density, and metabolic health in ways cardio alone doesn't. Many experts recommend prioritizing strength training first, then layering in cardio. What is Camp Be More? Camp Be More is a live event created by Shelene Johnson for women, focused on connection, aging on your own terms, and building community with other women navigating midlife. How much strength training do I need to see results? Shelene recommends starting with two days a week focused on the lower body if daily training feels overwhelming. Consistency matters more than volume when you're starting out.   Connect with Chalene Johnson Website: https://chalene.com/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/chalene Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/chalenejohnson/?hl=en TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@chalenejohnson YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@chalenejohnson Connect with Dr. Anna Website: http://drannacabeca.com/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/thegirlfrienddoctor Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thegirlfrienddoctor/ TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@thegirlfrienddoctor Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/thegirlfrienddoctor/

Set the Lindsay Clancy trial beside the Alex Murdaugh retrial and the witness lists start to rhyme. Tony Brueski takes the mail across all three segments with Robin Dreeke, a retired FBI Special Agent who spent his career in behavioral analysis.Clancy's psychiatrists testified for the prosecution that they saw no signs of psychosis. One of them, Dr. Jennifer Tufts, told jurors she did not have or seek Clancy's records from other providers and relied on her patient to disclose what mattered. The other, Dr. Alia Goodheart of McLean Hospital, testified the hospital did not obtain those records either. Neither knew about the two crisis line calls Clancy's civil suit describes. In South Carolina, Murdaugh's defense is demanding updated personnel files, disciplinary records and internal affairs materials on the investigators and forensic analysts who built the case. The state is moving the other way, seeking to admit Murdaugh's 2023 testimony and to keep third-party guilt away from the jury. One structure, two jurisdictions. A record assembled by people who were not looking for the thing the defense now says was sitting there.Prosecutors in Massachusetts argue Clancy's providers are not to blame and that she acted intentionally. Prosecutors in South Carolina argue the evidence against Murdaugh is overwhelming and that speculation about other suspects is not evidence.Clancy's trial is expected to run six to eight weeks with more than a hundred and eighty witnesses. Murdaugh's retrial is tentatively set for April 5, 2027.Lindsay Clancy has pleaded not guilty and is presumed innocent. Anyone following the Lindsay Clancy murder trial has watched a second case get built in public against her husband. Patrick Clancy has never been charged, never been named by a detective, and never been accused by her own defense team. He is being convicted anyway, daily, by strangers. The loudest item on the list is the lawsuit. He sued four of her providers on behalf of his three children's estates, and a great many people read that as a man constructing himself a story. Lindsay sued eleven, seven of them individual providers, plus McLean Hospital and Women & Infants Hospital of Rhode Island. Both filings argue the same thing about the care she got.Tony Brueski works through what the accusation needs to be true and what the record actually holds. Where the errand originates. What the toxicology came back as. What two strangers on a phone line heard from her minutes before. Dr. Jennifer Tufts, a defendant in those suits, has been on the stand defending the care she gave, with Julie Paul called after her.And there is one thing he did a year after losing them that the people prosecuting him online have never had to account for.He made that same argument first, days after the funerals, when he asked strangers on a fundraising page to forgive her the way he had. He told police the medications had given her the worst side effects possible. He said he was not married to a monster.Eighteen jurors have now heard every fact this accusation rests on, under oath, and not one of them has been asked to consider him.Come for the list. Stay for the item nobody on either side argues with him about.END_LINKS:Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/ Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Amy Phillips and Emily Dorezas's six-episode recap series of The Real Housewives of London after the show arrives on Bravo in the U.S. The recaps were recorded around a year ago and may include dated references but the recaps stand true. They praise the show's aspirational wealth, fashion, scenery, and “elegant” tone while tracking early storylines: Panthea's long-running “dentist gate” feud with Juliet, questions around Nessie's Cotswolds estate and lavish hosting (helicopter rides, vintage cars, piano, gifts), and ongoing clashes over who is a “lady,” especially Panthea versus Karen. They discuss Karen's emotional backstory, Panthea's doctor visit about hormones, and key conflicts involving Amanda's mysterious money, assistants, and her escalating feud with American Juliet, including voice memo receipts, accusations of disloyalty, and a tense lunch confrontation. This episode is sponsored by:TUMBLEMachine Washable Rugs, Made Better. By mid-December 2022, Lindsay Clancy's psychiatric nurse practitioner had exhausted her outpatient tools. Rebecca Jollotta had spent weeks adjusting medications while Clancy messaged her constantly about worsening symptoms, intrusive thoughts, and sleeplessness she could not shake.Clancy faces three first-degree murder charges in the deaths of her children at the family's Duxbury home on January 24, 2023. She has admitted to the killings. Her attorneys argue postpartum psychosis and bipolar disorder left her unable to distinguish right from wrong. Prosecutors contend she planned the deaths and carried them out with intent. On December 12, Jollotta recommended partial hospitalization. Three days later the couple called to report Clancy's worst day and persistent thoughts of ending her life. Jollotta told them to seek evaluation at Massachusetts General Hospital. They chose Women & Infants Hospital in Providence instead, a postpartum-specific program. Jollotta anticipated a two-week admission. Clancy spent one day. Reddington asked on cross-examination whether the facility turned her away because staff believed she had been overmedicated.Jollotta was the sole provider who had raised a bipolar possibility, telling Clancy and her husband Patrick at a December 6 appointment that the medication reactions concerned her. Patrick dismissed the diagnosis. Jollotta never consulted Dr. Jennifer Tufts, who was prescribing to Clancy simultaneously. On redirect, prosecutor Jennifer Sprague asked whether Jollotta ever believed Clancy was experiencing postpartum psychosis. Jollotta answered that she did not.Listen Anywhere You Get Podcasts: https://pod.link/1655749292Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Testimony in the Lindsay Clancy murder trial keeps circling back to one question: who actually knew what, and when. Clancy, 34, of Duxbury, Massachusetts, is accused of strangling her three children — Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 7 months — with exercise resistance bands inside the family's Summer Street home on January 24, 2023. She faces three counts of murder and three counts of strangulation, has pleaded not guilty, and attorney Kevin Reddington is building an insanity defense around severe postpartum psychosis and psychiatric overmedication.Under cross-examination today, Latisha Dukes, a counselor and psychologist at South Shore Hospital, confirmed she never reviewed the notes or records from Paul or Jollotta before treating Clancy — a gap defense attorneys clearly wanted the jury to sit with. Dukes testified Clancy feared getting addicted to Ativan just to be able to sleep, and that she was dealing with "unmanageable anxiety," depression, and both passive and active suicidal thoughts. On redirect, Dukes said skipping the prior notes was intentional — she wanted "fresh eyes" on the case — and added she had no role in managing Clancy's medications. Also on the stand: Duxbury Police Officer Cameron Dailey, who testified about being assigned to security detail watching Clancy at the hospital.Prosecutors maintain Clancy understood the nature of her actions regardless of her mental state. After the killings, she allegedly tried to take her own life by jumping from a second-story window, leaving her paralyzed from the waist down. Her husband, Patrick Clancy, was out running errands that day and has since moved to Manhattan. The trial, underway in Plymouth Superior Court, is expected to last several weeks.LinksJoin Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? The murder trial of Lindsay Clancy, the Duxbury, Massachusetts mother accused of strangling her three children — 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson, and 7-month-old Callan — with exercise bands inside the family's Summer Street home on January 24, 2023, moved through two consequential witnesses today. Clancy faces three counts of murder and three counts of strangulation, has pleaded not guilty, and is mounting an insanity defense built around severe postpartum psychosis and psychiatric overmedication, led by attorney Kevin Reddington.First up: Trooper Dan Lawlor, who was providing security at the hospital. On cross-examination, he testified he saw a doctor go in to consult with Clancy, and later found out that doctor had handed her his own phone to call her husband, Patrick. Lawlor also testified that he and the lead investigator discussed the possibility that a psychiatrist coached Clancy to say she was hearing voices. On re-direct, he said a separate conversation with another trooper didn't shift his testimony.Next, Latisha Dukes, a counselor and psychologist at South Shore Hospital, testified she began treating Clancy in late November 2022 for depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, and a stated wish not to be here anymore. Dukes also said Clancy had sought help at Women's and Infants Hospital before the killings and was turned away for lacking a "plan."Prosecutors are expected to argue Clancy understood the nature of her actions despite the defense's claims. Clancy allegedly attempted suicide after the killings and is now paralyzed from the waist down. Patrick Clancy has since relocated to Manhattan. The trial continues in Plymouth Superior Court and is expected to run several weeks.Links:Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Alex Murdaugh's defense is asking a judge to move the retrial out of the entire fourteenth judicial circuit, and it is the motion people argue about most. Tony Brueski takes listener questions with Robin Dreeke, retired FBI Special Agent and former chief of the Bureau's Counterintelligence Behavioral Analysis Program. The filing calls the case among the most heavily publicized criminal prosecutions in South Carolina history. It asks the court to move the trial outside the circuit where Murdaugh's family operated for generations. His great-grandfather, grandfather and father served consecutively as the region's elected solicitor from 1920 to 2006. The circuit covers five counties: Allendale, Beaufort, Colleton, Hampton and Jasper.Judge Debra McCaslin has left it to the state and the defense to discuss possible locations and bring her options. Pretrial proceedings are running out of her home court in Lexington County. The listener objection is a fair one. Documentaries, books and streaming series about this family reached the whole country, not five counties. Moving the trial also means the community where Maggie and Paul Murdaugh lived and died does not get to sit in judgment. The counterargument holds that saturation is not uniform. Jurors drawn from counties the family ran for a century carry associations jurors elsewhere do not. That is the standard a venue motion is measured against. The defense's other pending filings include a demand for a fresh Brady and Giglio search with written certification inside thirty days, plus a bid for independent DNA testing. McCaslin has also ruled Murdaugh will appear before the new jury in street clothes and without restraints, over the state's objection.Murdaugh's convictions were overturned, he awaits retrial, and he is presumed innocent.END LINKSJoin Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/ Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? A Massachusetts State Police trooper walked the jury through the hours after Lindsay Clancy arrived at South Shore Hospital today, and it sounded less like a hospital admission and more like a custody transfer. Clancy, 34, of Duxbury, is on trial for the January 24, 2023 deaths of her three children — 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson, and 7-month-old Callan — allegedly strangled with exercise resistance bands inside the family's Summer Street home. She faces three counts of murder and three counts of strangulation, has pleaded not guilty, and her attorney Kevin Reddington is running an insanity defense built on claims of severe postpartum psychosis and psychiatric overmedication.Trooper Dan Lawlor testified he served an evidence preservation order at the hospital and personally collected Clancy's clothing and jewelry, along with additional evidence. On cross, he confirmed she arrived without shoes. Then came the line that reframes the whole scene: Lawlor said he was stationed there to "maintain custody" of Clancy, which meant no visitors — not her lawyer, not anyone — until a court order allowed a psychiatrist in to see her. A hospital room, sealed off by court order. Sit with that for a second.Prosecutors maintain Clancy understood what she was doing regardless of her mental state. Clancy allegedly attempted suicide after the killings by jumping from a second-story window, leaving her paralyzed from the waist down. Her husband, Patrick Clancy, was running errands at the time and has since relocated to Manhattan. A killing with an eyewitness account contradicted by the autopsy. Video of the defendant striking the victim. Neighbors calling 911 six times in three months. On True Crime Today, Tony Brueski asks what more a prosecution needs, because in the Courtney Clenney case, all of it added up to six years.Clenney stabbed Christian Obumseli in their Miami apartment on April 3, 2022, and told detectives she threw the knife from ten feet away in self-defense. The medical examiner found a forceful downward thrust instead. She told the 911 operator the wound was in his shoulder. It was in his chest. For four months after his death she remained free, photographed at a hotel bar days later, until an arrest in Hawaii and a bond denial that cited her money and her history of violating court orders. On August 10, 2026, the second-degree murder charge vanished. In its place came manslaughter with a deadly weapon, a guilty plea, and a six-year sentence with four years of jail credit already earned. Tony walks through the honest case for the deal, including the battered-partner evidence and the family's approval, and the harder case against it, built entirely from the state's own words and filings. Then there is the twist from the hearing itself, a legal maneuver by her attorneys that concerns money, a Florida statute, and what Clenney is allowed to do once she is out. It is the detail that turns a sentencing story into something else.Christian was twenty-seven, a young man his mother asked the world to remember as more than a case name. This one stays with the facts, in the order that makes them land.Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/ Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? The Lindsay Clancy murder trial delivered its most clinical — and most brutal — testimony yet today. Clancy, 34, of Duxbury, Massachusetts, is accused of strangling her three children — 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson, and 7-month-old Callan — with exercise resistance bands inside the family's Summer Street home on January 24, 2023. She faces three counts of murder and three counts of strangulation, has pleaded not guilty, and attorney Kevin Reddington is building an insanity defense around claims of severe postpartum psychosis and psychiatric overmedication.Three witnesses took the stand. Nichole Bradley, Assistant Deputy Superintendent with the Plymouth County Sheriff's Department, described the security watch maintained on Clancy's hospital room. Then the medical testimony began. Renee Stonebridge of the Chief Medical Examiner's Office, trained in neuropathology, testified that all three children died from asphyxia, with significant brain swelling from lost oxygen and blood supply. Dr. Barbara Olson, who conducted the autopsies on Cora and Dawson, testified that bruises found on Cora were recent, though she couldn't specify exactly when they were inflicted, and that both children would have experienced pain as they lost consciousness during strangulation. Cause of death for both: mechanical asphyxiation. The testimony proved too much for the courtroom more than once — recesses were called as Clancy had visible emotional reactions to what was being described.Clancy allegedly attempted suicide by jumping from a second-story window after the killings and remains paralyzed from the waist down. Her husband, Patrick Clancy, was out running errands at the time and has since relocated to Manhattan. The trial continues in Plymouth Superior Court and is expected to run several more weeks.Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? The Lindsay Clancy trial has spent days on her medical care, and the timeline that came out of it does not line up the way either side wants. Tony Brueski works through the questions listeners are sending in with Robin Dreeke, a retired FBI Special Agent who spent his career on behavioral analysis.Start with the calendar. Clancy began seeing Dr. Jennifer Tufts in September 2022, and fourteen appointments followed by video through January 23, 2023. Tufts testified Clancy was deteriorating across that stretch, with worsening depression, insomnia and anxiety. She raised the possibility of bipolar disorder at a November appointment, then concluded Clancy did not meet the criteria. Then New Year's Day 2023. Clancy admitted herself to McLean Hospital. Dr. Alia Goodheart joined her care on January 3 and discharged her on January 5. Goodheart testified Clancy was polite, cooperative, appropriately dressed, and denied any plan to harm herself or anyone else.Somewhere inside that same window, according to Clancy's own civil filings, she called a crisis line twice. Neither psychiatrist knew it had happened. Neither had the other's records, and neither obtained records from Clancy's earlier providers. That is the question listeners keep asking, and it is a fair one. Two calls placed by a woman under psychiatric care, and no clinician treating her ever learned they happened. On all three counts of first-degree murder, Clancy pleaded not guilty and remains presumed innocent. Prosecutors argue she was not seriously pursuing treatment and that her providers bear no responsibility. The providers deny negligence.Robin Dreeke takes the mailbag on what a handoff is supposed to look like and where this one broke. Two of the motions prosecutors just renewed in the Alex Murdaugh retrial are about what the jury will never hear. Tony Brueski takes the listener mail on them with Robin Dreeke, a retired FBI Special Agent who spent his career in behavioral analysis. The first would exclude evidence of third-party guilt. The state won that fight before the 2023 trial. Winning it again means Murdaugh's lawyers cannot stand up and point at another person as the killer without clearing a bar the court sets. The second would exclude any mention of a polygraph. That one has a history. In an October filing before the first trial, Murdaugh's own attorneys wrote that Curtis Eddie Smith failed a polygraph when he was questioned about whether he murdered Maggie and Paul. Smith has denied wrongdoing in the murders. Prosecutors argued then, and are arguing again, that juries give polygraphers more weight than the science supports.Prosecutors are also asking the court to admit Murdaugh's 2023 testimony at the retrial, seeking a fresh review of digital evidence, and opposing the defense's bid for outside DNA testing. The question listeners keep raising is worth taking seriously. An office that calls its evidence overwhelming is asking a judge to close two doors it already closed once. Prosecutors would say that is standard practice and that speculation is not evidence.Maggie Murdaugh and Paul Murdaugh were killed at the family's Colleton County property on June 7, 2021. Paul was twenty-two. Murdaugh has said he found their bodies.Judge Debra McCaslin has tentatively set the retrial for April 5, 2027, and is handling pretrial proceedings in Lexington County. With the verdicts vacated, Murdaugh stands as an untried defendant again, presumed innocent. Robin Dreeke takes the mailbag on what gets kept out and who it actually protects.END LINKSJoin Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/ Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? State Police Trooper Dan Lawlor took the stand today in the murder trial of Lindsay Clancy, the Duxbury, Massachusetts mother accused of strangling her three children — 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson, and 7-month-old Callan — with exercise bands inside the family's Summer Street home on January 24, 2023. Clancy faces three counts of murder and three counts of strangulation. She has pleaded not guilty and is mounting an insanity defense, with attorney Kevin Reddington arguing she was in the grip of severe postpartum psychosis and psychiatric overmedication at the time of the killings.Lawlor testified he responded to South Shore Hospital, where he served an evidence preservation order and collected Clancy's clothing and jewelry, along with other physical evidence. Under cross-examination, he confirmed she wasn't wearing shoes. But the detail that actually matters: Lawlor said his job at the hospital was to "maintain custody" of Clancy — meaning nobody, not a lawyer, not anyone, got near her until a court order let a psychiatrist in. That's not standard hospital protocol. That's a state trooper posted at the door.Prosecutors are expected to argue Clancy understood the nature of her actions despite the defense's mental-health claims. After the killings, Clancy allegedly attempted to take her own life by jumping from a second-story window, leaving her paralyzed from the waist down. Her husband, Patrick Clancy, was out of the home running errands at the time and has since relocated to Manhattan. The trial, underway in Plymouth Superior Court, is expected to last several weeks.Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Lindsay Clancy, the 34-year-old Duxbury, Massachusetts mother accused of strangling her three children — 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson, and 7-month-old Callan — with exercise resistance bands inside the family's Summer Street home on January 24, 2023, was back in Plymouth Superior Court today for testimony that cut right into how her mental health care was actually handled before the killings. Clancy faces three counts of murder and three counts of strangulation. She's pleaded not guilty, and her attorney, Kevin Reddington, is running an insanity defense built around severe postpartum psychosis and psychiatric overmedication.Today it was Latisha Dukes, a counselor and psychologist at South Shore Hospital, under cross-examination — and the admission was a big one. Dukes said she never read the notes or records from Paul or Jollotta before working with Clancy. She testified Clancy was afraid of becoming addicted to Ativan just to sleep, and that she genuinely had "unmanageable anxiety," depression, and both passive and active suicidal ideation. On redirect, Dukes defended the gap, saying she skipped the prior records deliberately to approach the case with "fresh eyes." She also said she had no input into medication management. Separately, Duxbury Police Officer Cameron Dailey testified about being assigned to provide security and watch Clancy at the hospital.Prosecutors are still expected to argue Clancy understood what she was doing despite the mental-health claims. After the killings, Clancy allegedly attempted suicide by jumping from a second-story window and is now paralyzed from the waist down. Her husband, Patrick Clancy, was out running errands at the time and has since relocated to Manhattan. She faces three counts of murder and three counts of strangulation, has pleaded not guilty, and her attorney, Kevin Reddington, is mounting an insanity defense built on claims of severe postpartum psychosis and psychiatric overmedication.Today the courtroom heard from three witnesses. Nichole Bradley, Assistant Deputy Superintendent with the Plymouth County Sheriff's Department, testified about providing security watch at Clancy's hospital room following her alleged suicide attempt. Then came the harder part. Renee Stonebridge, neuropathology-trained and with the Chief Medical Examiner's Office, testified that all three children died of asphyxia, with significant brain swelling caused by lack of oxygen and blood flow. Dr. Barbara Olson, who performed the autopsies on Cora and Dawson, testified that bruising on Cora was recent — though she couldn't pin down exactly when it occurred — and that both children would have felt pain as they lost consciousness during strangulation. Mechanical asphyxiation, she confirmed, killed them both.Court had to recess more than once as Clancy reacted emotionally to the testimony. After the killings, Clancy allegedly attempted to jump from a second-story window and is now paralyzed from the waist down. Christian Obumseli recorded what was happening to him. On this episode of Hidden Killers, Tony Brueski tells the story of the Courtney Clenney case through the evidence Christian left behind, and the six-year sentence a Miami judge accepted on August 10, 2026.The clips came off his phone after his death, recovered by homicide investigators. In them, Clenney screams at him, calls him a racial slur, demands he let her slap him. In one exchange he tells her plainly that what she said was a threat, that he apologized, and that she hit him anyway. Her attorneys argue those moments lack context and insist she was the one being abused. His family's attorney says the recordings show exactly who the aggressor was.Four years after his death, none of it went before a jury. Clenney pleaded guilty to manslaughter with a deadly weapon and received six years, most of it already behind her through time served. Five years of probation, evaluations, and a batterers' intervention program follow. The life sentence she once faced disappeared with the amended charge.Tony traces how a prosecution that publicly branded her the aggressor arrived at this outcome, what role her battered-partner claim played, and why the family signed off despite rejecting her self-defense account from the start. He also gets into the remarkable thing her lawyers preserved at the sentencing hearing itself, a move involving her ability to earn from this case, and the pledge prosecutors made in response.Toby was twenty-seven, a son and a brother his family refuses to let be reduced to a court file. His voice is still in the record. Two very different witnesses gave the jury a fuller picture today in the murder trial of Lindsay Clancy, the Duxbury, Massachusetts mother accused of strangling her three children — 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson, and 7-month-old Callan — with exercise bands inside the family's Summer Street home on January 24, 2023. Clancy faces three counts of murder and three counts of strangulation. She has pleaded not guilty and is mounting an insanity defense, with attorney Kevin Reddington arguing she was in the grip of severe postpartum psychosis and psychiatric overmedication.Trooper Dan Lawlor, who provided security at the hospital, testified on cross-examination that he saw a doctor step in to consult with Clancy and later learned that doctor let her use his own phone to call her husband, Patrick. Lawlor also said he and the lead investigator discussed a theory worth noting: that a psychiatrist may have told Clancy to say she was hearing voices. On re-direct, he confirmed a conversation with another trooper didn't affect his testimony. Then came Latisha Dukes, a counselor and psychologist at South Shore Hospital, who testified her sessions with Clancy began in late November 2022 for depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, and thoughts of not wanting to be there. Dukes said Clancy had tried to get help at Women's and Infants Hospital before the killings and was turned away — because she didn't have a "plan."Prosecutors are expected to argue Clancy understood the nature of her actions despite the defense's claims. Clancy allegedly attempted suicide after the killings and is now paralyzed from the waist down. Patrick Clancy has since relocated to Manhattan. The trial continues in Plymouth Superior Court.Links:Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? The part of Alex Murdaugh's new defense filing that matters most is the part about personnel files. Tony Brueski works the listener mail with Robin Dreeke, a retired FBI Special Agent who spent his career in behavioral analysis. The motion asks the court to order prosecutors to produce updated disciplinary records and internal affairs materials. It covers misconduct findings on any officer or forensic analyst tied to the investigation, arrest or prosecution. It names no one. The language is broad enough to reach several people. One of them is former SLED senior special agent Ryan Kelly. He led the investigation into the September 2021 roadside shooting involving Murdaugh and Curtis Eddie Smith. Kelly testified at the 2023 murder trial. He told jurors investigators had found nothing whatsoever connecting Smith to the killings of Maggie and Paul. Kelly left SLED in 2025 and joined the Charleston County Sheriff's Office as chief inspector of internal affairs. He was fired from that job in June 2026 after an administrative investigation into allegations of harassment, conduct unbecoming, improper procedures and unsatisfactory performance. That termination has not been linked to anything Kelly did while at SLED, and there is no indication the allegations involved any Murdaugh-related investigation. Whether any of it would be admissible is a question for the court. Publicly available records do not describe the underlying conduct. That is exactly the kind of post-trial development the motion appears built to capture, and it is why listeners keep asking how exposed the state's witness list actually is.His convictions no longer stand, and Murdaugh is presumed innocent heading into April. Robin Dreeke handles the mailbag on credibility files, impeachment, and what a jury never sees.END LINKSJoin Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/ Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? One program in the treatment timeline was designed specifically for postpartum patients. Women & Infants Hospital in Providence ran a partial hospitalization track for mothers dealing with mood disorders after childbirth. Lindsay Clancy's nurse practitioner sent her there in mid-December 2022 on an urgent basis. The Commonwealth alleges Clancy murdered her three children, Cora, Dawson, and Callan, at the family's Duxbury home on January 24, 2023. She has acknowledged killing them. Her defense asserts she was in a psychotic state driven by postpartum illness. The prosecution argues she acted rationally and with planning.Jollotta anticipated Clancy would remain in the program for two weeks. According to testimony at Plymouth Superior Court, she stayed for a single day. Reddington pressed Jollotta on whether staff declined to admit Clancy over concerns about overmedication.Jollotta testified she was troubled by the early departure and told Clancy in a message that group therapy and additional support could help. She was reluctant to taper Seroquel because it had been easing Clancy's depression and sleep. Before leaving for vacation, Jollotta left a written taper plan on December 21.Reddington produced hospital records suggesting Women & Infants attempted to reach Jollotta and received no answer. She denied receiving any call. Jollotta acknowledged she never communicated with Dr. Jennifer Tufts, the psychiatrist managing Clancy's medications at the same time. The prosecution closed by asking whether Jollotta ever suspected postpartum psychosis. She testified she had not.Listen Anywhere You Get Podcasts: https://pod.link/1655749292Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Airline lounge access keeps getting more expensive—and Ed and Richard are wondering who is actually paying these prices. This week on Miles To Go, they break down American Airlines' latest Admirals Club changes, including higher membership prices and a revamped Executive Card. With individual lounge membership now costing hundreds of dollars and family access climbing even higher, the guys debate whether the airline credit card is now the only logical way to buy into the ecosystem. That leads to a broader discussion about whether airport lounges deserve as much weight as they get when travelers evaluate premium credit cards. Crowding, long lines, limited space, and inconsistent food all make Ed question how much real value lounge access adds. Richard also shares a surprise about JetBlue Mint: even on an expensive transcontinental Mint ticket, lounge access still isn't included unless you're flying transatlantic. Then the conversation shifts to a brand-new luxury resort cancellation controversy, where a well-known YouTuber arrived only to find his reservation had been canceled at the last minute. Finally, Richard gives an update on his Frontier GoWild Pass—and admits that, despite owning it, he still hasn't actually managed to use it.
