Lindsay Clancy killed her three children. Nobody's arguing that. What the state of Massachusetts wants you to skip past is the part where an entire medical apparatus watched a woman disintegrate in real time, handed her a fistful of scripts, cycled her on and off drugs like a science fair project, and then clutched its pearls when the worst thing imaginable happened in a house in Duxbury. This week I'm walking through the Clancy case as her trial finally gets going in Plymouth County. Postpartum psychosis, the kind that's rare enough for every provider to treat like someone else's problem. A stack of prescriptions and a psychiatric system that failed her at every single door she walked through, including the one she checked herself into. And a prosecution that would rather cage a paralyzed woman than say out loud that the failure was systemic and it was theirs. This is not a redemption arc and I'm not going to send you off feeling better about any of it. Content note: This episode discusses the deaths of children, postpartum psychosis, and suicide. Postpartum mental illness is treatable and the vast majority of people who experience it never harm anyone. If you're struggling, the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (call or text 988) and Postpartum Support International (1-800-944-4773) are there. Keywords: Lindsay Clancy, Lindsay Clancy trial, Lindsay Clancy case, Clancy trial, postpartum psychosis, postpartum depression, Duxbury, Plymouth County, maternal mental health, PMADs, perinatal mood disorders, overmedication, insanity defense, lack of criminal responsibility, Patrick Clancy, Kevin Reddington, psychiatric system, true crime, true crime podcast, political commentary, crimes of the powerful, We Saw the Devil, WSTDBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/we-saw-the-devil-unfiltered-political-analysis--4433638/support.Website: http://www.wesawthedevil.comPatreon: http://www.patreon.com/wesawthedevilRobin's Instagram: http://www.instagram.com/robin_wstdTwitter: http://www.twitter.com/WeSawtheDevilInstagram: http://www.instagram.com/wesawthedevilpodcast.TikTok: tiktok.com/@wesawthedevilpolitics
From not wanting kids, to loving being a mother to one, Anjelah Johnson-Reyes joins The Mom Room this week to talk about motherhood and her new standup comedy special Ugly Baby. She shares her experience going through IVF, getting pregnant at 41, and how her purpose has shifted after having her child. Renee and Anjelah discuss the early stages of motherhood, intrusive thoughts, and share their theories on why postpartum rage towards the father happens. They also relate on wishing that they had done a better job being a support system for their friends and family who have gone through childbirth, now knowing how hard that postpartum stage really is. Most people think low back pain means something is wrong with their back. It's usually the hips — and the fix often starts on your living room floor. In this episode, Dr. Gabrielle Lyon sits down with Dr. Kelly Starrett and Juliet Starrett, JD to discuss:Why 100% of the people who fly across the country to get a consult for stubborn low back pain are missing hip extension, and how to test yours with the couch stretchThe "injury vs. incident" framework that tells you when pain needs a doctor and when you can manage it yourselfHow 20–30 minutes of floor sitting each evening restores the range of motion you thought you'd lost to ageWhy mobility is the missing third leg of the longevity triangle that roughly 90% of people skipBy the end, you'll have a simple, no-equipment way to move without pain and keep the strength and mobility that let you do what you love as you age.Want ad-free episodes? We start with Kristin's ever-escalating sleep setup, my childhood bedtime prayer that explicitly included the possibility of dying in my sleep every night from ages zero to eighteen, and the fact that I then did actually die in my sleep, which, in retrospect, really should have been a tell. The midlife crisis hobby conversation covers mountain biking, beekeeping, Bob Ross-style painting, and acting class, which I have already signed up for and fully expect to enjoy. We also invent CampDash, a concierge service that sets up and takes down your campsite so that tent camping becomes something a normal family can do without spending an entire weekend in misery. Someone else needs to run it. The second half is a real one about surgeon personalities, specifically, the thing a TikTok surgeon pointed out that I think actually matters: what gets missed in all the characterizations of surgeon ego and God complex is the constant, pervasive worry that surrounds every case. The operating room is the only time all of that goes away, which is why surgeons "just want to operate", it's not arrogance, it's peace. I'm an ophthalmologist doing 12 cases a day, so I operate on a different scale than a neurosurgeon doing one eight-hour case, but I still have particular things I need exactly right: bed height, head position, the scrub tech anticipating my next move. I talk through how surgical complications require the kind of mentorship that nobody trains you for, and how one of the most humanizing videos I ever made came directly from that experience. Takeaways: Surgeon personalities aren't just ego. They're largely driven by pre- and post-op worry Surgical complications are inevitable and the mental recovery from them is something medicine barely addresses Ophthalmology surgery occupies a different psychological space than high-stakes surgical specialties Making adult friends in your 40s is legitimately hard Bedtime prayers that include the possibility of dying in your sleep probably shouldn't be a nightly ritual for children — To Get Tickets to Wife & Death: You can visit Glaucomflecken.com/live We want to hear YOUR stories (and medical puns)! In this thought-provoking episode of Badass Basic Bitch, Brianna sits down with Karolina Rzadkowolska, alcohol-free empowerment expert, bestselling author of Euphoric, and founder of Euphoric AF, to explore why so many of today's highest performers are choosing to live alcohol-free—and how that decision is transforming every area of their lives.Karolina shares her own journey from climbing the corporate ladder while feeling deeply unfulfilled to building a thriving business after questioning her relationship with alcohol. Together, she and Brianna unpack the surprising connection between alcohol, purpose, confidence, entrepreneurship, and neuroplasticity, revealing why removing alcohol often unlocks clarity, creativity, and the courage to pursue the life you actually want.Whether you drink regularly, occasionally, or are simply curious about your relationship with alcohol, this episode isn't about labels or shame—it's about asking a powerful question: Is alcohol helping you become the person you're meant to be?In This Episode, We Discuss:✨ Why so many successful entrepreneurs and high performers choose not to drink✨ The surprising connection between alcohol and purpose✨ How alcohol impacts neuroplasticity, creativity, and decision-making✨ Why “taking the edge off” may actually be keeping you stuck✨ The difference between wanting a drink and needing one✨ How alcohol can mask dissatisfaction with your career or life✨ Why confidence is built—not poured into a glass✨ The science behind why alcohol-free living can feel euphoric✨ How taking a break from alcohol can unlock new ideas, passions, and opportunities✨ Why questioning your relationship with alcohol doesn't mean you have a drinking problemMemorable Quote“Alcohol never solved it. Operating at your highest level requires energy, creativity, and mental clarity that alcohol often quietly steals.Alcohol Can Become a Band-Aid for a Bigger ProblemWhether it's stress, burnout, insecurity, or feeling disconnected from your purpose, alcohol often numbs emotions instead of resolving them. Lasting fulfillment comes from addressing what's underneath—not escaping it.Confidence Comes From Keeping Promises to YourselfOne of the greatest transformations people experience during an alcohol-free journey isn't simply feeling healthier—it's rebuilding self-trust. Bryan Kohberger pled guilty to four counts of first-degree murder, told a judge under oath he did it, received four life sentences — and is now claiming a book led him to evidence that proves otherwise. His petition cites "clumps of hair" from Ethan Chapin's hand, a phrase that appears only in a retired FBI agent's book and nowhere in the case record. Jennifer Coffindaffer examines the collision between what Kohberger claims and what the forensic evidence shows, including a defense expert's testing that matched the hair back to the victim. The conversation also covers whether Anne Taylor would end her own career to give Kohberger a path forward, and what it means for the Goncalves, Mogen, Kernodle, and Chapin families that the finality they were promised is already unraveling.LinksJoin Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/ Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? A stipulation, a surgeon, and a state trooper with a pill count — that was the docket today in the Lindsay Clancy murder trial. Clancy, 34, of Duxbury, Massachusetts, is accused of strangling her three children — 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson, and 7-month-old Callan — with exercise resistance bands inside the family's Summer Street home on January 24, 2023. She faces three counts of murder and three counts of strangulation, has pleaded not guilty, and her attorney Kevin Reddington is building an insanity defense around severe postpartum psychosis and psychiatric overmedication.Clancy agreed to stipulate to a set of uncontested facts today, which is really just a way of saying: the prosecution doesn't have to drag a parade of chain-of-custody witnesses through the courtroom to prove things nobody's arguing about.Dr. Cristina Carpio of South Shore Hospital testified about treating Clancy for the spinal injury she sustained in the fall that followed the killings — the injury that left her paralyzed from the waist down. Then Massachusetts State Trooper Joseph Rabbitt described the scene inside the Clancy home that night, focusing on the medication bottles in the kitchen. He testified that Patrick Clancy brought more bottles into the house in February, and gave the jury specific numbers on how much medication remained in each one.Every detail here is doing work for one side or the other. The defense needs those medication numbers. The prosecution needs the jury to remember there was a house, a kitchen, and a routine before there was a tragedy.Patrick Clancy, out running errands when it happened, has since relocated to Manhattan. The trial continues in Plymouth Superior Court.LinksJoin Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Massachusetts State Police testimony dominated the courtroom today in the murder trial of Lindsay Clancy, the Duxbury, Massachusetts mother accused of strangling her three children — 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson, and 7-month-old Callan — with exercise bands inside the family's Summer Street home on January 24, 2023. Clancy faces three counts of murder and three counts of strangulation. She has pleaded not guilty and is mounting an insanity defense, with attorney Kevin Reddington arguing she was in the grip of severe postpartum psychosis and psychiatric overmedication at the time of the killings.Trooper Mark Farioli testified he collected six blood vials and a urine sample from Clancy at the hospital, executed under a search warrant — the kind of evidence collection that doesn't happen unless investigators are already building a case. Trooper Leah O'Connell, who worked as a forensic evidence tech at the time, walked the jury through how that evidence was logged and moved through the chain of custody, the unglamorous paperwork trail that's supposed to keep a case from falling apart on a technicality. Trooper John Santos testified about executing the search warrant on the Clancy home itself, where investigators found books, workbooks, and pamphlets about postpartum depression and prescription medications — material the defense may lean on, and material prosecutors will likely frame differently.None of it is dramatic on its face. All of it is foundational. Prosecutors are expected to argue Clancy understood the nature of her actions despite the defense's mental-health claims. After the killings, Clancy allegedly attempted to take her own life by jumping from a second-story window, leaving her paralyzed from the waist down. Her husband, Patrick Clancy, was out of the home running errands at the time and has since relocated to Manhattan. The trial, underway in Plymouth Superior Court, is expected to last several weeks.LinksJoin Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? The only conviction in the Nancy Guthrie case is for fake ransom texts — and the sheriff running the investigation publicly stated the wrong sentence. Retired FBI agent Jennifer Coffindaffer examines the gap between what Sheriff Nanos told the public about Derrick Callella's disposition and what the plea agreement actually reads. From there, the conversation moves to the complete communication failure between the FBI and Pima County, Savannah Guthrie's new video plea and the pointed language that suggests she knows something the rest of us don't, and an assault near Nancy's neighborhood with a suspect matching the porch figure's description. Coffindaffer brings twenty-eight years of FBI experience to a case that, six months in, has produced no named suspect and no arrest.LinksJoin Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/ Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Before Domonic Rodolico knocked on Arianna Jones' door for their first date, his phone had already been pinging in a remote desert area near Lake Pleasant, Arizona. Multiple times. He lingered for twenty-five minutes on one trip. Investigators would later find concrete bags, latex gloves, and burial equipment at the same spot where cadaver dogs discovered Arianna's remains on July 11 — alongside two Harkins movie theater souvenir cups from the date she didn't survive.Arianna Bailey Jones was twenty-one and a mother of a two-year-old son. She'd spent her childhood in foster care and had only reunited with her biological mother three years earlier. She was doing the thing she'd always wanted — building a family. On July 5, she went to the movies with a guy she met on Snapchat. Her phone went dark in the desert forty-five minutes after the movie ended. Rodolico's phone left the area ten minutes later. When arrested, Rodolico told police a story about two masked attackers. Then changed it. Then admitted it wasn't true. He offered a third version he couldn't explain. The affidavit says he showed no remorse and seemed to think this was just a missing person case. He's charged with first-degree premeditated murder, held on two million dollars bond, and denies any involvement. Arianna's mother is calling for the death penalty. This is the full case — first time we're bringing it to you.End LinksJoin Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/ Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Every major case in true crime is producing questions faster than anyone can answer them — and this episode addresses all of it.Lindsay Clancy's trial: Patrick Clancy's two days of testimony, the 911 call played for the jury, the prescription bottles that complicate the overmedication defense, and whether anyone should have stopped this from ever reaching a courtroom. Nolan Wells: the contradictions between the friends and Katie McCormack, the sealed autopsy, the missing throat, the midnight call, and what Mississippi's governor thinks about the people demanding answers. D4vd: the nineteen-million-dollar motive, the bodycam lie, the chainsaws, the air fresheners, and the platforms that connected an eleven-year-old fan to a rising star.Tony answers thirty audience questions across all three cases. No holding back. No hedging.End Links:Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/ Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Jahnavi Harrison is a Grammy-nominated artist, musician, and practitioner of Bhakti Yoga who has spent her life exploring sound as a path to the divine. Raised at Bhaktivedanta Manor in England, she grew up inside one of the world's most dedicated devotional communities, and in this conversation we trace how that formation shaped her relationship with voice, identity, approval, and what it means to offer your life as a prayer. What We Dive Into:1. Most of us were told at some point to be quiet, to sound better, or to wait until we were good enough. That conditioning runs deep. Reclaiming the voice, whether through kirtan, song, or simply speaking truthfully, is one of the most direct paths back to a self that stopped performing and started expressing.2. Bhakti is not a feeling you arrive at and maintain. It is a daily offering, something you return to moment by moment, especially when you have drifted. Jahnavi's framing is simple: make space for prayer in whatever form feels alive to you, and that space will become a source of nourishment that compounds over time.3. The desire to be accepted can masquerade as discernment, as wisdom, even as calling. Jahnavi traces how much of her own journey involved slowly distinguishing the voice of genuine inner knowing from the much louder voice that simply wanted to be liked. That distinction is not resolved once. It is worked on for life.Know Thyself, but not by yourself. "Man, what didn't I get wrong? It's so much harder." Brian Nolan sold his SaaS company Sellbrite to GoDaddy. Then he bought Darren & Phillip, an Australian dog apparel brand built around viral matching dog-and-owner bathrobes, and found out that owning a store is a different beast than building software for stores. The founder was the face of the brand, and she left with the sale. The Google Workspace account was locked to Australian billing. Moving inventory from Australia to the US costs more than shipping it from China. In this episode: what nobody warns you about when buying an 8-year-old brand, how customers with 80+ repeat purchases justify losing money on the first order, and the TikTok creator seeding playbook that works in the hundreds, not the tens of thousands. Hidden Killers With Tony Brueski | True Crime News & Commentary
Three active cases, thirty questions from the audience, and nobody pulling punches. The Lindsay Clancy trial put Patrick Clancy on the stand for two days, played his 911 call to a jury that could barely hold together, and showed prescription bottles that challenge the overmedication defense. The Nolan Wells investigation has two autopsies, no cause of death, a sealed state report, and a girl whose family's account of his last hours contradicts his friends' story. The d4vd hearing put a nineteen-million-dollar motive on the record, showed bodycam of a lie told to a deputy over a year before the killing, and laid out a timeline of evidence purchases that reads like premeditation on a credit card statement.Tony answers all thirty. The evidence. The contradictions. The system failures. The questions nobody in any of these cases seems willing to answer.End Links:Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/ Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Use the free CAC Calculator I made with HubSpot for Startups: https://clickhubspot.com/0dda8a #ad #hubspot My new book, Own Or Be Owned, is all about building a business so good it doesn't need you. More profit, less pain. It's out September 18, grab your ticket to the launch event here: https://contrarianthinking.biz/oobo_bigdeal - cs You've been talking. A lot. But nobody's listening. You're explaining your ideas, pitching your vision, trying to convince your team, and somehow the room just glazes over. Here's the truth: the problem isn't that people don't care. It's that you haven't learned how to make them care. And great ideas die every single day because the person behind them can't communicate well enough to make them stick. Communication isn't a soft skill. It's the highest ROI skill you'll ever build. It's how you raise capital, close deals, lead teams, and turn strangers into believers. The difference between someone who gets funded and someone who gets ignored isn't the idea. It's how they deliver it. This episode breaks down five of the most effective communication frameworks straight from the best speakers who have ever lived, from Steve Jobs to Martin Luther King Jr. to Malcolm Gladwell, and how you can use them starting today. In this episode, you'll learn: The simple map framework: why Steve Jobs told Stanford graduates he'd share three stories before he ever started talking and how giving your audience a roadmap removes anxiety and makes them actually listen Why repetition isn't boring when done right and how Martin Luther King Jr. used I have a dream eight times in one speech to build weight, not waste time Specificity as credibility: why saying this laundromat does $3 million in revenue from 164 machines is infinitely more believable than saying this business makes a lot of money How to use silence like a weapon and why the pause before your biggest line is more powerful than the line itself, just like Steve Jobs did when he introduced the iPhone Why story beats argument every single time and how Malcolm Gladwell turned a spaghetti sauce case study into one of the most memorable TED talks ever by making you feel the discovery instead of hearing the lesson Stop filling the silence. Stop apologizing for your point. Start speaking like someone who deserves to be heard. Because the moment you learn to communicate like a CEO is the moment people start treating you like one. The medical staff who cared for Lindsay Clancy right after the Duxbury killings had their turn on the stand this week, and their testimony pulls back the curtain on what happened in that hospital room while the rest of the world was still trying to process the news. Clancy, 34, faces three counts of murder and three counts of strangulation over the deaths of her three children — Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 7 months — who prosecutors allege she strangled with exercise resistance bands inside the family's Summer Street home on January 24, 2023. She's pleaded not guilty, and her attorney, Kevin Reddington, is mounting an insanity defense centered on severe postpartum psychosis and psychiatric overmedication.Rachelle Amedee, the trauma nurse who treated Clancy in that early window, testified that once Clancy regained the ability to communicate — via whiteboard, since she couldn't yet speak — she asked for her attorney. Draw your own conclusions on the timing. Meghan Collins, who worked in the ICU, described the treatment Clancy received during her stay there, adding medical detail to the aftermath of an alleged suicide attempt that left Clancy paralyzed from the waist down after jumping from a second-story window. Her husband, Patrick Clancy, was running errands at the time of the killings. He's since moved to Manhattan and given interviews about his wife's mental state. The trial is underway in Plymouth Superior Court and is expected to stretch several weeks.LinksJoin Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? The message was identical for all of them. The friends who left Nolan Wells on Horn Island with his phone. Their families. The Jackson County Sheriff's Office. The district attorney. The coroner. The state medical examiner. Every one of them received a ten-page preservation-of-evidence letter from Nolan's family attorneys on July 20 — the same day Nolan was buried at Center Pointe Church in Ocean Springs, Mississippi. The letters directed every recipient to suspend automatic deletion, preserve all materials in their original form, and treat civil litigation as reasonably anticipated. The message was clear: we are coming, and you need to keep everything.Nolan was eighteen. He went to a July 4 boat party on Horn Island with friends, was reportedly left behind when their boat took on water, and his body was found two days later. The sheriff said no foul play before the autopsy came back. The DA sealed the official results behind a grand jury with no set date. The independent autopsy returned undetermined.Nine days after the funeral, Christine Wells-Wonsley filed subpoenas against five tech companies for Nolan's digital records — including GPS data that she'd already found told two different stories depending on which app you checked. The criminal track and the family's civil track are now running simultaneously.Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/ Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? The mental-health testimony everyone's been waiting for showed up this week in the Lindsay Clancy trial, courtesy of psychiatrist Dr. Sejal Shah, who treated Clancy during her hospital stay. Clancy, 34, of Duxbury, Massachusetts, is charged with three counts of murder and three counts of strangulation in the deaths of her children — Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 7 months — who prosecutors allege she strangled with exercise resistance bands inside the family's Summer Street home on January 24, 2023. She's pleaded not guilty. Her attorney, Kevin Reddington, is building an insanity defense around severe postpartum psychosis and psychiatric overmedication.Shah described Clancy experiencing delirium in the hospital and testified that Clancy changed her health care proxy to her parents during that period — a procedural detail that ends up saying a lot about her state of mind at the time. Shah also gave the court a broader picture of Clancy's mental health, testimony both sides will likely revisit heavily as this trial moves forward. After the alleged killings, Clancy is accused of attempting suicide by jumping from a second-story window, leaving her paralyzed from the waist down. Her husband, Patrick Clancy, was running errands when it happened and has since relocated to Manhattan, where he's spoken publicly about his wife's mental health. The trial is underway in Plymouth Superior Court and is expected to run several weeks.LinksJoin Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Nobody ever reviewed Dr. Staci Turner's ruling in the Damien Cameron case — three independent experts said she got it wrong, and she kept her job. Now she holds the sealed autopsy results for eighteen-year-old Nolan Wells. Retired FBI agent Jennifer Coffindaffer examines the structural problem: a medical examiner whose credibility was challenged by three national pathologists and never held to account, now sitting on findings that a family and a country are waiting for. The conversation covers Hunter Elward's presence at Cameron's arrest and his later federal conviction in the Goon Squad cases, the DA's control over the grand jury process with no committed timeline, and what Mississippi's history demands of an investigation that involves a Black teenager found dead near a barrier island with no answers.LinksJoin Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/ Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? She was fourteen. He had a recording contract worth up to nineteen million dollars. Prosecutors say Celeste Rivas Hernandez knew everything about their alleged relationship — and she was threatening to talk. Nineteen million dollars. That is what an Interscope executive testified d4vd's contract was potentially worth. His financial manager said he had already earned more than ten million. Prosecutors say Celeste Rivas Hernandez was fourteen years old and threatening to talk — and that the money is the reason she is dead.Over five days, prosecutors laid out a timeline that allegedly begins when Celeste was eleven and ends with her remains in a Tesla trunk while d4vd headlined festivals and appeared on late-night television. The evidence included chainsaws, bodycam footage, an inflatable pool, texts about an abortion, and a notarized form from her parents permitting her to travel overseas with him. This is your Q&A. Ten questions from the audience. The money. The evidence. The system failures. Tony holds nothing back.End Links:Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/ Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Three physicians took the stand today in the murder trial of Lindsay Clancy, the Duxbury, Massachusetts mother accused of strangling her three children — 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson, and 7-month-old Callan — with exercise resistance bands inside the family's Summer Street home on January 24, 2023. Clancy faces three counts of murder and three counts of strangulation. She has pleaded not guilty and is mounting an insanity defense, with attorney Kevin Reddington arguing she was in the grip of severe postpartum psychosis and psychiatric overmedication at the time of the killings.Dr. Michael Snyder of Beth Israel Hospital, Dr. Andrew Capraro of the ER at Boston Children's Hospital, and Dr. David Casavant of the ICU at Boston Children's Hospital walked jurors through the children's arrival and treatment — and the brain injuries caused by prolonged oxygen deprivation. The damage was most severe in Callan, the youngest of the three, whose seven-month-old brain had the least capacity to withstand it. These weren't abstract medical terms for the jury. They were a roadmap of exactly what strangulation does to a small child's body, delivered by the people who tried to reverse it and couldn't.Prosecutors are expected to argue Clancy understood the nature of her actions despite the defense's mental-health claims. After the killings, Clancy allegedly attempted to take her own life by jumping from a second-story window, leaving her paralyzed from the waist down. Her husband, Patrick Clancy, was out of the home running errands at the time and has since relocated to Manhattan. The trial, underway in Plymouth Superior Court before Judge William F. Sullivan, is expected to last several weeks.LinksJoin Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Dr. Sejal Shah, a psychiatrist involved in Lindsay Clancy's hospital treatment, testified this week, and her account moves the trial squarely into the medical territory the defense has been building toward. Clancy, 34, of Duxbury, Massachusetts, faces three counts of murder and three counts of strangulation over the deaths of her children — 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson, and 7-month-old Callan — who prosecutors allege she strangled with exercise resistance bands inside the family's Summer Street home on January 24, 2023. She's pleaded not guilty, and her attorney, Kevin Reddington, is arguing an insanity defense rooted in severe postpartum psychosis and psychiatric overmedication.Shah testified about Clancy experiencing delirium during her hospital stay and told the court Clancy changed her health care proxy over to her parents — a decision that, however it gets read by either side, says something about where things stood. Shah went on to describe Clancy's broader mental health picture at the time, testimony that's likely to sit at the center of both the prosecution's and the defense's closing arguments once this trial gets there. The alleged strangulations were followed by an alleged suicide attempt — Clancy is said to have jumped from a second-story window and is now paralyzed from the waist down. Her husband, Patrick Clancy, was out running errands during the killings and has since relocated to Manhattan, where he's spoken to the press about his wife's mental health. The trial continues in Plymouth Superior Court and is expected to run several weeks.LinksJoin Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Two of the medical staff who treated Lindsay Clancy in the hours and days after the Duxbury killings took the stand this week, and between them they laid out exactly what the state of Massachusetts was dealing with in that hospital room. Clancy, 34, is charged with three counts of murder and three counts of strangulation in the deaths of her children — 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson, and 7-month-old Callan — who prosecutors allege she strangled with exercise resistance bands inside the family's Summer Street home on January 24, 2023. She's pleaded not guilty and her attorney, Kevin Reddington, is running an insanity defense built on severe postpartum psychosis and psychiatric overmedication.Trauma nurse Rachelle Amedee testified she treated Clancy in those first critical hours, and told the courtroom that once Clancy could communicate — using a whiteboard, since she couldn't speak — one of the first things she asked for was her attorney. Make of that what you want, because the prosecution certainly will. ICU nurse Meghan Collins followed with details on the treatment Clancy received during her stay, filling in the medical picture of a woman who allegedly jumped from a second-story window and is now paralyzed from the waist down. Her husband, Patrick Clancy, was out running errands when it happened. He's since relocated to Manhattan and spoken publicly about his wife's mental health. The trial continues in Plymouth Superior Court and is expected to run several weeks.LinksJoin Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Officer Richard Lippard of the Duxbury Police Department testified that he spent sixteen hours in a hospital hallway watching Lindsay Clancy lie motionless. She was sedated and unconscious at South Shore Hospital, then MedFlighted to Brigham and Women's in Boston. She never spoke a word during his entire watch. Under cross-examination, Lippard confirmed that a Code Blue was called for her room overnight — meaning she was dead or dying. The testimony came on Day 4 of Clancy's murder trial after the jury walked through the family's former home at 47 Summer Street in Duxbury. Jurors inspected the basement, both floors, and the exterior — including the second-story window and the yard below it. A detective who met Clancy at the hospital described her as sedated and unconscious with deep lacerations across her neck and wrists. Photographs of the injuries and blood in the bedroom were shown to the jury. Two emergency room doctors then testified about treating three-year-old Dawson and eight-month-old Callan. Dawson was worked on for forty minutes before being declared dead. Callan's heart was restarted but he never regained brain function and died at Boston Children's Hospital days later. Clancy was visibly emotional as both doctors described the effort.Every witness Friday was a prosecution witness. And the prosecution's own officer confirmed their defendant was dead or dying the same night they allege she was performing.Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/ Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? The day Christine Wells-Wonsley laid her eighteen-year-old son Nolan to rest, her legal team was already moving. Ten-page preservation-of-evidence letters went out to Nolan's friends, their families, the Jackson County Sheriff's Office, the district attorney, the coroner, and the Mississippi State Medical Examiner. Every institution and individual in the chain received the same message: litigation is anticipated, and nothing gets deleted.Nolan Wells went to a July 4 boat party on Horn Island with friends and never came home. His body was found two days later by a park ranger. The sheriff concluded no foul play before the autopsy results, the toxicology, or the FBI's digital evidence review were complete. The DA then sealed the official autopsy behind a grand jury she hasn't scheduled. His mother wasn't going to wait for that process to play out. She got Nolan's phone back from his friends and found both Snapchat accounts empty. She compared Life360 and Snapchat location data and found they didn't match. On July 29, she filed court-ordered subpoenas against five major tech platforms — demanding GPS data, login histories, messages, and password reset records. Twenty-one days to produce everything. The family is building a parallel investigation alongside the criminal one, and the preservation letters ensure nobody in the official chain can claim their records were lost.Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/ Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Celeste Rivas Hernandez was fourteen years old when her parents signed a notarized travel consent form that put her on an international trip with musician David Anthony Burke, known to fans as d4vd. Weeks later, her dismembered body turned up in his Tesla, and the family's story hasn't stopped shifting since the arrest. LAPD Detective Corey Farell testified that both families knew about the relationship long before anyone called it a crime. There was a Las Vegas trip with Celeste's sister tagging along, VIP concert seats, and church visits together. Then, after Burke's arrest, Celeste's father told reporters he'd never had any contact with the musician at all — a claim that doesn't square with the record now in front of the judge. Now the defense is working an entirely different angle. Attorney Blair Berk pressed the medical examiner on whether Celeste's injuries could have occurred after death, and got a detective to read messages where Celeste referenced harming herself, an attempt to muddy exactly how and when she died. Burke has been held to answer on first-degree murder with special circumstances, along with charges connected to illegal conduct with Celeste and unlawful mutilation of her remains. The death penalty is on the table. He's pleaded not guilty. Arraignment lands August 31st. Two families that apparently knew everything. A father who now says he knew nothing. A defense team building its case around a dead teenager's old texts. This one keeps getting harder to look away from, and the hearing is far from over. Three days of testimony in Plymouth Superior Court have turned the Lindsay Clancy trial into something nobody predicted. Her ex-husband testified for two days, described thirteen medications and a woman who could not sleep, could not stop the intrusive thoughts, and could not get a single provider to catch what was happening. He forgave her publicly. He defended her on the stand. Then the jury heard him screaming into 911 that she killed their children. In the middle of all of it, prosecutors showed the jury nine prescription bottles recovered from the Clancy home — most of them still containing pills. The defense built its case on overmedication. Those bottles raise a question nobody was expecting.Tony takes on the ten hardest questions the audience sent this week — from the medications to the 911 call to whether the doctors should be the ones standing trial. Your questions, his answers, no filter.End Links:Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/ Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Two witnesses took the stand today in the murder trial of Lindsay Clancy, the Duxbury, Massachusetts mother accused of strangling her three children — 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson, and 7-month-old Callan — with exercise bands inside the family's Summer Street home on January 24, 2023. Clancy faces three counts of murder and three counts of strangulation. She has pleaded not guilty and is mounting an insanity defense, with attorney Kevin Reddington arguing she was in the grip of severe postpartum psychosis and psychiatric overmedication at the time of the killings.First up was Dr. Kelly McDonough, an emergency medicine physician, who described Clancy's arrival and treatment at the hospital. It should have been routine. It wasn't — Reddington's cross-examination turned hostile as the doctor repeatedly couldn't recall specific details of treating Clancy, and he made sure the jury noticed.Later, Sgt. Rose Stoffers of the Massachusetts State Police Crime Scene Services Section brought the day back to procedure, describing how she met with forensic scientists at South Shore Hospital to document Clancy's injuries — the unglamorous groundwork that ends up mattering when a case comes down to competing narratives.Prosecutors are expected to argue Clancy understood the nature of her actions despite the defense's mental-health claims. After the killings, Clancy allegedly attempted to take her own life by jumping from a second-story window, leaving her paralyzed from the waist down.
