It started with the dogs.Late at night, they all began barking at once, focused on something moving through the alley behind the house. It was enough to get his attention, but not enough to expect anything out of the ordinary. At first. When he finally looked outside, what he saw didn't line up with anything familiar. It moved quickly, low to the ground, but not in a way that made sense for any animal he knew. There was something about it that didn't fit. The kind of thing you try to explain away in the moment… until you realize you can't.And once you've seen something like that, it's hard to convince yourself it was anything normal.#RealGhostStories #Skinwalker #ParanormalEncounter #CryptidSighting #UnknownCreature #UnexplainedEncounter #DarkEntity #SomethingInTheAlley #TrueGhostStory #ParanormalExperienceLove real ghost stories? She's seen spirits her entire life. They appear with questions tied to moments that have already happened—confused, searching, trying to understand something they've left behind. There's always a pattern. Until one night, there isn't.The woman who appeared in her apartment didn't seem lost or disoriented. She asked a simple question—then another. And this time, it wasn't about the past.It was about something that hadn't happened yet.The next day, when the call came in, everything changed. Because the event the woman had asked about didn't exist the night before. Happy Sunday! Welcome to Heal Squad's The Sunday Set Up. Life lessons to help you start the week. This week, we explore why peace is not weakness, passivity, or “rolling over” — it's actually the body's truth meter. Your mind can rationalize staying too long, overgiving, proving yourself, or carrying guilt and obligation. But your nervous system usually tells the truth much faster. We talk about the difference between chaos and alignment, and why so many of us mistake anxiety, intensity, and emotional exhaustion for love, purpose, or responsibility. Keven shares why people who grew up managing tension and conflict often feel uncomfortable with real peace — because peace can feel unfamiliar when your nervous system has been trained for survival. But peace isn't deadness. It's a life where your goals, relationships, creativity, and ambitions no longer require constant self-erasure to maintain them. We dive into how peace sharpens discernment, restores self-respect, and helps you hear your own voice again. From boundaries and hard conversations to letting go of guilt and people-pleasing, this week's conversation is about learning to stop abandoning yourself just to keep external harmony. Because there's a difference between being calm because you're aligned… and being quiet because you've disappeared. Remember, peace is not what remains after you disappear. It's what becomes possible when you stop disappearing. Nothing here is permanent — except change. Let go and be present. Have a great week, Heal Squad! Criminologist Brent Turvey is the primary source behind "Broken Plea," the new book on the Idaho murders case. He has now been publicly disavowed by the defense team that hired him. Attorneys Ann Taylor, Elisa Massoth, and Bicka Barlow stated they are "appalled" by his media appearances and that he is violating his confidentiality agreement. They specified he was hired solely for crime scene analysis and is speaking on topics outside his scope. The book's own author told NewsNation there is "no smoking gun" and "no secret evidence." This Hidden Killers Week in Review combines two episodes examining the book's claims against the evidentiary record and the psychological portrait of Bryan Kohberger emerging from newly surfaced jail writings.Tony Brueski systematically checked every major allegation. The chain of custody claim that Turvey characterizes as "fabricated"? Moscow's police chief responded that the department uses electronic barcodes, not handwritten logs. The Othram DNA laboratory allegation? Forensic professionals confirmed it as a standard step in genetic genealogy investigation, not evidence of a cover-up. The second-attacker theory? Directly contradicted by Kohberger's own guilty plea as a sole actor — entered with no incentive to shield an accomplice and with a trial date weeks away. The prosecution's case, the defense's internal conflict over its own expert, and Kohberger's decision to plead guilty despite having every argument in this book available to him all point to the same unresolved question. The episodes also examine Kohberger's never-before-published jail letters. He wrote to his dog about alleged telepathic communication. He described "triumphantly ascending" and experiencing "clarity and serenity" from custody. He wrote his sister a letter so clinically detached it resembles academic correspondence. Across all writings, there is no reference to Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, Xana Kernodle, or Ethan Chapin. Psychotherapist Shavaun Scott analyzes these writings alongside documented jail behaviors — obsessive handwashing until his skin bled, prolonged showers, and the consistent pattern of watching his own case coverage but switching channels whenever his family appeared.Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/ Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? The concept of a matriarchy is far more nuanced and empowering than a basic ass reversal of patriarchal roles. There is a prioritization of balance over dominance, inclusion over exclusion, communal wellbeing over individual accumulation of power, environmental stewardship over endless growth, and a holistic/inclusive approach that considers impact in all areas rather than one. Hidden Killers With Tony Brueski | True Crime News & Commentary
The criminologist behind the biggest new book on the Idaho murders has been publicly disavowed by the defense team that hired him. Ann Taylor, Elisa Massoth, and Bicka Barlow said they are "appalled" by Brent Turvey's media appearances and that he is violating his confidentiality agreement. They said he was hired solely for crime scene analysis and is now speaking on topics outside his expertise. Meanwhile, the book's author told NewsNation there is "no smoking gun" and "no secret evidence" in the Kohberger case. This Hidden Killers Week in Review brings together two episodes pulling apart both the book's claims and the psychological portrait of Bryan Kohberger emerging from his own writings.Tony Brueski fact-checked every major claim in "Broken Plea" against on-the-record responses from Idaho prosecutors, defense attorneys, and forensic professionals. The chain of custody allegation that Turvey calls "fabricated"? Moscow's police chief says the department uses electronic barcodes, not handwritten logs. The Othram DNA lab story? A standard step in genetic genealogy, not a cover-up. The second-attacker theory? Contradicted by Kohberger himself, who pled guilty as a sole actor with zero incentive to protect an accomplice. The overriding question: Kohberger had every argument in this book and a trial date weeks away. He still said guilty. Then there are the jail letters — never before published, now surfaced in the book itself. Kohberger wrote to his dog claiming they communicated telepathically. He wrote his family about "triumphantly ascending" and "clarity and serenity." He wrote his sister a letter so clinical it reads like a dissertation. Across all of it, not a single mention of Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, Xana Kernodle, or Ethan Chapin. Psychotherapist Shavaun Scott analyzes the writings alongside inmate reports of obsessive handwashing until his skin bled and a man who watched his own coverage on every channel but changed it the moment his family appeared onscreen.Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/ Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Today we're diving into the latest advancements in hay equipment with a focus on round baler technology and how it's helping farmers improve efficiency, consistency, and overall bale quality. From automation to data tracking, hay production is evolving fast—and the newest innovations are designed to reduce operator fatigue while delivering more uniform, higher-quality bales. One of the standout features is Weave Automation, which allows the baler to guide itself along the windrow. With a hitch that can swing side-to-side, the system automatically weaves across the windrow during bale formation. The result is more consistent bale shape and density, less need for constant steering, and a lower risk of pulling in dirt or debris. Beyond automation, today's balers are equipped with advanced sensors that measure moisture and weight in real time. Operators can monitor conditions directly from the cab, making better decisions on the go. This data can also be uploaded into the John Deere Operations Center, giving farmers the ability to track bale performance, monitor trends, and document field activity over time. Moisture management continues to be a critical factor in hay quality, and baler-mounted testers now provide real-time readings during operation—helping reduce spoilage risk and improve storage outcomes. Upstream from the baler, windrowing and mowing equipment are also becoming more advanced. Self-propelled windrowers, merger attachments, integrated cameras, and in-cab controls allow operators to fine-tune their process and create ideal windrows for baling. These systems, combined with data tracking, help optimize cutting schedules and improve dry-down timing. All of this is connected through tools like JDLink and the John Deere Operations Center, where farmers can monitor machine performance, track field work, and make more informed decisions based on real data. The bottom line: hay production is no longer just about getting across the field—it's about precision, consistency, and using technology to maximize quality and efficiency every step of the way. www.johndeere.com Want Farm4Profit Merch? Bryan Kohberger wrote letters from jail. They've now been published for the first time in a new book on the Idaho murders. He wrote to his dog about communicating telepathically. He wrote to his family about "triumphantly ascending" and finding "clarity and serenity" behind bars. He wrote his sister something so detached from his circumstances it reads like it was composed at a university desk, not a jail cell. And across every letter — every page, every line — there is one thing that never appears. Not once. The names Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, Xana Kernodle, and Ethan Chapin do not exist in Bryan Kohberger's writings. No remorse. No acknowledgment. No indication he understood why he was there at all. This Hidden Killers Week in Review brings together two episodes for the families and the community still searching for something Kohberger has never provided.Psychotherapist Shavaun Scott examines what the letters reveal alongside jail behavior reports — obsessive handwashing until his skin bled raw, hour-long showers, and the detail that he watched his own case coverage on every available channel but changed it the instant his family appeared onscreen. Scott also analyzes his mother's FBI interview the night of his arrest, where she called him "my angel." When Kohberger stood in court and said "guilty" with no visible emotion, accepting four consecutive life sentences and waiving all appeals — was this someone who cannot tell the families why, or someone who does not believe they deserve an answer? The book that surfaced these letters has created its own crisis. Kohberger's defense attorneys publicly disavowed criminologist Brent Turvey, the book's primary source, saying they are "appalled" and that he violated his confidentiality agreement. Tony Brueski checked the book's major claims — chain of custody, the Othram lab, the second-attacker theory — against on-the-record responses from prosecutors and forensic professionals. Every claim has been challenged. And the question the families of Kaylee, Maddie, Xana, and Ethan are left with remains the same one they started with: Kohberger had a trial date and chose to say guilty. He has never said why.Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/ Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? In the second installment of this two-parter, we pick up right where we left off with Harold, and things immediately spiral. Anthony starts traveling with the doll, capturing EVPs that range from aggressive threats to disturbingly crude commentary. Psychics refuse to be in the same room as Harold, one woman is physically bitten during a tarot reading, and a Ouija board session reveals a spirit named Adam before leaving a deep scratch across a participant's body. Harold isn't just haunted, he's active, reactive, and escalating. As more encounters unfold, we learn there may be up to five spirits inside the doll, including a vulnerable child spirit and a dark entity controlling the four others. After a series of injuries, terrifying visions, and mounting tragedies, Anthony realizes he may not be in control at all and locks Harold away for years. But when the doll resurfaces, so does the chaos. Now, Anthony believes he has a responsibility to free the innocent spirits trapped inside, but with Harold growing stronger and more unpredictable, that mission may come at a cost. What started as a simple guided tour through a restored abbey quickly turned into something no one in the group could explain. The building itself felt ordinary—old stone, narrow rooms, and the kind of quiet that comes with places that have been standing for centuries.Nothing about it suggested anything unusual. Until one moment changed that. While standing in a small chamber, a woman suddenly reacted as if someone had taken hold of her arm. Not brushed past her—grabbed her. The first time, it was easy to dismiss. The second time, it wasn't.Because by then, everyone was looking. And from every angle in that room, there was one thing they all knew for certain— there had been no one there to touch her.#RealGhostStories #ParanormalEncounter #TouchedBySomething #UnseenPresence #GhostlyTouch #HauntedLocation #ParanormalExperience #SomethingWasThere #UnexplainedEvent #TrueGhostStoryLove real ghost stories? It happened in the middle of a normal summer day.She was lying in the yard when a shadow passed over her, something that should have been easy to explain. But when she looked up, what she saw didn't make sense.A full-sized passenger plane was flying directly overhead, low enough that it felt like it could hit the house. And it was completely silent. She watched it move across the sky, expecting at any moment for something to happen—for the sound to catch up, for it to crash, for someone else to notice.None of that happened. No one else reported seeing it. No crashes were recorded. It started with a simple idea.As a kid, she wanted to believe in ghosts. Wanted something to prove they were real, something she could experience for herself. It didn't feel like a dangerous thought at the time—just curiosity. Then one night, something happened that didn't feel like curiosity anymore. There were knocks at her door. Clear, deliberate, and close enough that she knew exactly where they were coming from. At first, she assumed it was her sister playing a prank. So she went to catch her. But when she opened the door, there was nothing there. And whatever that moment was, it didn't feel harmless. Hidden Killers With Tony Brueski | True Crime News & Commentary
According to prosecutors, the morning after Celeste Rivas Hernandez was allegedly stabbed to death, David Anthony Burke ordered a shovel from Home Depot. Then chainsaws. Then a body bag. Then an inflatable pool — all allegedly under the fake name "Victoria Mendez." Then he allegedly gave a radio interview. That evening, he allegedly attended a party for his debut album. The album dropped two days later. This week's Hidden Killers review brings together the most critical D4VD case conversations — the prosecution's nine-page filing that rewrote the public understanding of the timeline and the listener questions that erupted after it went public.Burke has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder with special circumstances, continuous sexual abuse of a child under fourteen, and unlawful mutilation of human remains. His defense maintains he is innocent. But what Beth Silverman laid out in the People's Brief describes an alleged pattern of behavior so deliberate it extends days beyond the killing itself. Prosecutors allege Burke texted Celeste's phone asking where she was — after she was allegedly already dead. They allege he drove to a remote area near Lake Cachuma three separate times. Blue plastic fragments found in Celeste's remains were reportedly matched to the pool by LAPD's forensic lab. Fifty-four search warrants were executed — a number that tells you this investigation reached far beyond one person.Prosecutors allege Burke met Celeste online when she was eleven and that the sexual relationship began when she was thirteen. They say she was reported missing multiple times. They say law enforcement told Burke her age during a welfare check and he claimed he'd only met her once.Retired FBI Special Agent Jennifer Coffindaffer breaks down what the evidence roadmap reveals about how prosecutors are building premeditation and consciousness of guilt. Robin Dreeke answers the questions listeners have been asking — about what allegedly happened in the weeks after, about friends and associates who reportedly noticed a smell and said nothing, and about every system that allegedly failed a fourteen-year-old girl before it was too late.Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? The man behind the biggest claims in the new Idaho murders book has been publicly disavowed by the people who hired him. Criminologist Brent Turvey — the primary source for Christopher Whitcomb's book — was called out by Ann Taylor, Elisa Massoth, and Bicka Barlow in a statement saying they are "appalled" by his media appearances. They said he was retained solely for crime scene analysis and is now speaking on subjects beyond his scope. They accused him of violating his confidentiality agreement. His own defense team is telling the public not to take him seriously. This week's Hidden Killers review brings together the most critical Kohberger case conversations — focused on what the book actually contains versus what holds up when you check it against the record. We went through every major claim. The chain of custody allegation Turvey calls "fabricated"? Moscow PD has stated they use electronic barcodes, not the handwritten logs Turvey's claim depends on. The Othram DNA lab story? Standard genetic genealogy procedure, not evidence of anything improper. The second-attacker theory? Bryan Kohberger pled guilty as a sole actor. He had every reason to name an accomplice if one existed — it would have been his single strongest bargaining chip. He didn't, because there's nothing to name. Even Whitcomb himself told NewsNation there's no smoking gun and no secret evidence. That's the author of the book saying his own book doesn't contain what the marketing implies.Kohberger had a trial date weeks away. He had every argument this book is selling. He had a defense team that could have pursued every one of Turvey's concerns in court. He pled guilty anyway. That fact answers every question the book is trying to raise. The families of Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, Xana Kernodle, and Ethan Chapin have filed suit against Washington State University alleging the school ignored formal stalking complaints against Kohberger. That's the story that matters — institutional failure, not a book tour.Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Eric Richins survived the first attempt. He knew what was happening to him. He told people close to him that he believed his wife was trying to end his life. And then Kouri Richins handed him a Moscow Mule with five times the lethal dose of fentanyl in it. This Hidden Killers Week in Review brings together two deep-dive episodes covering every dimension of the Richins case — the financial motive, the secret affair, the insurance fraud, and the murder itself.Tony Brueski reconstructs the two parallel lives Kouri was living. On one side, a house-flipping business in freefall — 236 bounced checks, fifteen failed projects, $7.5 million in debt, and a prenup clause that made divorce financially catastrophic. Her forensic accountant described the situation as imploding. On the other side, a secret relationship with Robert Josh Grossmann, text messages fantasizing about marriage, and $1.9 million in life insurance policies she quietly took out on Eric without his knowledge. Eric, meanwhile, was meeting with divorce attorneys and estate planners, removing Kouri from his will, and constructing a trust to shield their three sons from her.The timeline of escalation is what convicted her. A poisoning attempt during a trip to Greece. A fentanyl-laced sandwich on Valentine's Day that sent Eric reaching for his son's EpiPen to survive. And two weeks later, the cocktail that killed him — mixed the same night she texted her boyfriend "love you." She asked her housekeeper for the fentanyl by requesting "the Michael Jackson stuff." A jury returned guilty verdicts on every count in under three hours.Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/ Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Eleven when they allegedly met. Thirteen when the relationship allegedly became sexual. Fourteen when she was reportedly dead. The People's Brief in the D4VD case lays out a progression that prosecutors call a years-long pattern of sexual exploitation — and according to the filing, law enforcement directly told David Anthony Burke that Celeste Rivas Hernandez was a minor before the worst of it allegedly occurred. This Hidden Killers Week in Review brings together two episodes featuring retired FBI Special Agent Jennifer Coffindaffer and psychotherapist Shavaun Scott examining every layer of the prosecution's case.Tony Brueski walks through the alleged deception that prosecutors say made the relationship possible. People in Burke's world reportedly believed Celeste was a nineteen-year-old USC student. When her parents found out the truth and confiscated her phone, prosecutors allege Burke drove to Lake Elsinore and paid a classmate a thousand dollars to deliver a new one. She was reported missing twice. Deputies conducted a welfare check and reportedly informed Burke she was thirteen. The prosecution maintains he continued pursuing her regardless — allegedly taking her to Las Vegas, London, and Texas, with summer weekends spent at his Hollywood Hills home.Coffindaffer analyzes how the alleged exploitation pattern connects to the prosecution's murder motive and what systemic failures allowed it to allegedly continue. Scott examines the psychological dimensions of what prosecutors describe — from the alleged initial grooming of a child to the behavior allegedly exhibited after Celeste's death, including what prosecutors say was a radio interview to promote his album the morning after she was allegedly killed. Burke has pleaded not guilty. His defense team maintains he is innocent and did not cause Celeste's death.Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/ Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Jordan Chandler told a private investigator that Michael Jackson never did anything to him. Then his father was caught on tape threatening to destroy Jackson. Then a twenty-three-million-dollar check was written. Then the boy vanished — from the case, from both parents, from public life entirely. This Hidden Killers Week in Review pulls together two full episodes on the Jackson allegations — the complete 1993 Chandler case and the biopic-era revelations that keep reshaping the narrative more than thirty years later.Tony Brueski reconstructs the timeline that both sides cherry-pick from — the extortion recording and what it actually proves, the psychiatrist's letter that predates the tape by two days, the custody battle that tangled the investigation beyond recognition, and the strip search photographs that prosecution advocates and Jackson defenders both claim support their version. He examines why the biopic required tens of millions in reshoots after its original ending reportedly violated a legal agreement the production team didn't know existed, and what the estate's role as co-producer meant for the version of the story that reached theaters.New accusers continue to surface. A civil case potentially worth hundreds of millions is building. The Cascio family allegations have added another layer. And Jordan Chandler — the most important witness in the most recognized abuse case in modern history — legally separated himself from both parents and disappeared. This episode doesn't pick a side. It presents what's been verified, what's been credibly challenged, and what remains genuinely unresolved.Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/ Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Celeste Rivas Hernandez was fourteen years old. Prosecutors allege she was reported missing multiple times before she was killed. They allege law enforcement spoke directly to David Anthony Burke during a welfare check and told him her age. According to the filing, he said he'd only met her once. Prosecutors say the sexual relationship had allegedly been ongoing since she was thirteen — and that he'd allegedly met her online when she was eleven. This week's review brings together the most powerful D4VD case conversations — the prosecution's timeline, the behavioral patterns alleged in the People's Brief, and the listener questions that go straight to the failures that allegedly let this happen.Robin Dreeke — retired FBI Counterintelligence Behavioral Analysis Program Chief — sits down to answer the questions listeners have been sending since the filing dropped. The ones about what the alleged behavior after the killing reveals about who Burke allegedly is. The ones about friends and associates who reportedly noticed something wrong for weeks and never contacted anyone. The ones about how a child who was reported missing multiple times allegedly ended up exactly where the system was supposed to prevent her from being.Retired FBI Special Agent Jennifer Coffindaffer breaks down the prosecution's evidence architecture — fifty-four search warrants, an alias allegedly used to purchase disposal materials, three alleged trips to a remote highway near Lake Cachuma, and blue plastic fragments reportedly matched to the inflatable pool by LAPD forensics. She examines what the volume and specificity of the warrants tell us about how far this investigation extends and whether additional charges could follow.Burke has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder with special circumstances, continuous sexual abuse of a child under fourteen, and unlawful mutilation of human remains. His attorneys maintain his innocence. The People's Brief is the prosecution's roadmap — not a verdict. But what it alleges about the days after Celeste was allegedly killed, and the weeks before anyone found her, raises questions that go far beyond one defendant.Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? The book's author says there's no smoking gun. The book's primary source has been disavowed by his own defense team clients. And the defendant the book is about already confessed. So what exactly is left? This week's review brings together the most pointed Kohberger case conversations — and we did something the book apparently didn't count on anyone doing. We checked every major claim against the record.Robin Dreeke — retired FBI Counterintelligence Behavioral Analysis Program Chief — joins to answer the listener questions that have flooded in since the book dropped and since Brent Turvey started making media rounds. But the answers don't go where the book wants them to go.Turvey's central allegation — that the knife sheath chain of custody was "fabricated" — depends on a claim about handwritten logs. Moscow's police chief has publicly stated the department uses electronic barcodes. The Othram DNA lab involvement that the book frames as suspicious? Standard procedure in genetic genealogy investigations. The second-attacker theory? Bryan Kohberger pled guilty as a sole actor with a trial date weeks away. If an accomplice existed, naming one would have been the most powerful tool his defense had. He didn't use it because it doesn't exist.Ann Taylor, Elisa Massoth, and Bicka Barlow — Kohberger's own defense attorneys — have publicly stated they are "appalled" by Turvey's appearances. They said he was hired for crime scene analysis only and is speaking outside his expertise. When your own clients are telling the public to disregard you, the credibility question answers itself. The families have filed a lawsuit against Washington State University alleging the school ignored formal complaints about Kohberger's behavior from women who reported stalking and intimidation. That lawsuit — not this book — is where the unresolved accountability lives. Kohberger confessed. The question isn't whether he did it. The question is who failed to stop him before he did.Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Everyone knows about the tape — a father recorded threatening to destroy Michael Jackson. It's been cited for decades as the clearest evidence of extortion. What most people don't know is that a lawyer had already obtained a psychiatrist's letter suggesting abuse two days before that recording was made. That timeline changes the entire framing of the 1993 Chandler case, and in this Hidden Killers Week in Review, Tony Brueski breaks down why both the extortion narrative and the abuse narrative are more complicated than their loudest advocates admit.Tony walks through the Chandler case chronologically — the private investigator interview where Jordan Chandler reportedly said nothing happened, the twenty-million-dollar demand, the custody war that compromised the investigation, the strip search photographs both sides weaponize as evidence, and the twenty-three-million-dollar settlement that Jackson's legal team characterized as a business decision while victims' advocates call it an admission. He also traces how the new biopic was forced into massive reshoots because its ending unknowingly violated an existing legal settlement, what the Cascio family allegations add to the picture, and why a civil case potentially worth hundreds of millions appears to be building.Jordan Chandler remains the central figure no one can hear from. He emancipated himself from both parents, severed ties with the case entirely, and has not spoken publicly in over three decades. The most important witness in arguably the most famous abuse case in modern history chose silence. Tony presents the evidence that cuts for Jackson and the evidence that cuts against him, and explains why honest engagement with this case means sitting with discomfort rather than reaching for easy answers.Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/ Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Her parents took the phone. It should have been over. Instead, prosecutors allege David Anthony Burke drove to Lake Elsinore and paid one of Celeste Rivas Hernandez's classmates a thousand dollars to deliver a replacement — after deputies had already informed him during a welfare check that she was thirteen years old. In this Hidden Killers Week in Review, Tony Brueski is joined by retired FBI Special Agent Jennifer Coffindaffer and psychotherapist Shavaun Scott to examine what prosecutors describe as a systematic effort to maintain access to a child despite direct warnings from law enforcement and family intervention.Coffindaffer brings her FBI behavioral analysis background to the welfare check that prosecutors say should have been a turning point. According to the filing, deputies told Burke directly that Celeste was a minor and that she was missing — and the prosecution alleges he continued the relationship. Coffindaffer explains what that interaction should have triggered within law enforcement, how the alleged exploitation pattern mirrors cases she investigated at the Bureau, and why the prosecution connects that pattern directly to their murder motive. She was reported missing twice. People in Burke's circle reportedly believed she was a nineteen-year-old college student.Scott examines the psychological architecture prosecutors describe — someone who allegedly maintained a sexual relationship with a child from age thirteen while reportedly concealing her age from everyone around him, and whose behavior after her alleged death included reportedly promoting his album on the radio the following morning. Prosecutors allege Burke subsequently ordered chainsaws, a body bag, and an inflatable pool under a fake name, with forensic evidence reportedly tying those items to injuries on Celeste's remains. Associates reportedly noticed the smell of decay for weeks. Burke has pleaded not guilty to all charges and maintains his innocence through counsel.Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/ Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? On Valentine's Day, Eric Richins ate a sandwich his wife made him. Within hours he was gasping for air. He grabbed his son's EpiPen because it was the only thing within reach that might keep him alive. He survived. He told friends he believed Kouri was trying to end his life. Two weeks later, she handed him a Moscow Mule. This time the fentanyl dose was five times lethal. In this Hidden Killers Week in Review, Tony Brueski traces the complete Kouri Richins case across two episodes — the financial desperation that built the motive and the calculated murder plan that followed. The money trail tells you everything about why. Kouri's house-flipping operation was collapsing — 236 bounced checks, fifteen failed projects, $7.5 million in debt with no way to service it. Her prenup made divorce a financial dead end. Her forensic accountant called the situation imploding. So Kouri took out $1.9 million in life insurance on Eric without his knowledge, started an affair with Robert Josh Grossmann, and began texting Grossmann about marrying him while her husband was still alive. Eric sensed what was coming. He removed Kouri from his will, severed her from his life insurance, and quietly built a trust to protect their three sons.None of it saved him. Kouri procured the fentanyl through her housekeeper by asking for "the Michael Jackson stuff." She tested it on Valentine's Day. When Eric survived, she adjusted the dose and switched the delivery method from food to a cocktail. The jury heard the texts, saw the financial records, and followed the fentanyl trail. They convicted her on every count in less than three hours.Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/ Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Bryan Kohberger had a trial date weeks away. He had a defense team. He had a forensic expert. He had every single argument now being packaged and sold in a book. And he stood in a courtroom and pled guilty to murdering Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, Xana Kernodle, and Ethan Chapin. That's not an unanswered question. That's an answer. This week's review brings together the most essential Kohberger case conversations — centered on why the post-plea noise doesn't serve the families and what actually does.We checked the book's claims. The chain of custody allegation depends on a handwritten log system that Moscow PD says it doesn't use — the department has stated publicly it employs electronic barcodes. The DNA lab claim is standard genetic genealogy procedure. The second-attacker theory is contradicted by the man who pled guilty as a sole actor and had every incentive to name someone else if anyone else existed. Even the book's own author admitted on national television that there's no smoking gun and no secret evidence. That's not an exposé. That's a product.Brent Turvey — the primary source — has been publicly disavowed by Kohberger's own attorneys. Ann Taylor, Elisa Massoth, and Bicka Barlow called his media conduct "appalling" and said he's speaking outside his retained scope. When the defense team that hired you tells the world to stop listening, credibility isn't a debate anymore. The families have filed a lawsuit against Washington State University alleging the school ignored formal complaints from women who reported Kohberger for stalking and intimidation. That's where the real failure lives. Not in a book about evidence questions that the defendant himself rendered irrelevant when he confessed. The families of four victims deserve accountability from the institutions that allegedly failed to act — not a media cycle built on claims that fall apart under basic scrutiny.Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video?

Bryan Kohberger admitted to killing four people. He took the deal. He waived his appeals. And now the people who were supposed to defend him are publicly fighting each other over evidence claims that didn't matter enough to pursue when the case was still active. This week's Hidden Killers review pulls together the most pointed conversations from the Idaho murders — focused on why the post-plea noise doesn't hold up under scrutiny.Brent Turvey went public alleging chain of custody problems with the Ka-Bar knife sheath. The defense team responded by calling his conduct appalling — not because he's wrong about forensics, but because he's talking at all. And that tension tells you something important: if Turvey's findings were strong enough to suppress the sheath, a competent defense team fighting four murder charges would have used them. They didn't. Either the claims weren't as solid as Turvey now suggests, or the defense calculated that even without the sheath, the rest of the evidence was enough to convict. Either way, the idea that this plea was somehow premature doesn't survive basic scrutiny.Christopher Whitcomb wrote a book. Kohberger confessed. Those two facts tell you everything about the value of the book. Packaging questions after a guilty plea isn't journalism — it's commerce.Eric Faddis has prosecuted and defended murder cases built on physical evidence. He breaks down why post-plea forensic claims almost never hold the weight their authors suggest, what the defense team's decision to take the deal actually tells you about the strength of the prosecution's case, and what four families are left to feel while watching people profit off the margins of their grief.Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Hidden Killers With Tony Brueski | True Crime News & Commentary
Prosecutor Brad Bloodworth stood in front of eight jurors and said: “Kouri Richins wanted to murder Eric Richins, thus took out an insurance policy on his life to get money for murdering Eric Richins. Then she murdered Eric Richins, and then she submitted a claim to get the money.” The jury needed less than three hours. In the final episode of our definitive five-part series, we break down the trial that ended Kouri Richins' performance for good — the thirteen days of testimony, the more than forty witnesses, the defense's decision to rest without calling a single person to the stand, and Kouri's refusal to testify in her own defense. We examine Bloodworth's closing strategy and the two lines that sealed the case. And we sit with the human wreckage — three boys raised by the family that fought for their father's justice, and the woman who faces 25 years to life for deciding her husband's death was a reasonable business expense.Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video?
