What if overthinking is not a flaw? What if it is just your gifted brain doing exactly what it was built to do? In this episode of Someone Gets Me, Dianne A. Allen reframes the words we have been using against ourselves for years. She gets honest about what really happens when gifted and neurodivergent people suppress how their minds work, breaks down the real causes of overwhelm, and offers a grounded, compassionate path toward channeling a powerful brain instead of apologizing for it. If you have ever felt like your mind was too much, this episode is going to change how you see that. Send us Fan MailIn S2E25, we start with Slinky covered in stickers, dog hair everywhere, and Robby debating whether Slinky's “newts” need to go after he marks one of the LEGO boxes. From there, we talk about brushing Slinky and Roxy, Roxy's guard-dog energy, bite strength, and how weirdly gentle she gets when taking treats. The episode then shifts into Ian's ongoing Range Rover nightmare, including the P0341 camshaft position sensor code, the possible timing chain issue, and the brutal £6,000 repair quote. We also get into whether it makes more sense to fix it, trade it in, or sell it to a dealership, before somehow ending up on COVID car prices, Robby's possibly broken toe, dog bite stories, future dog options, pipe screens, frozen video delays, and the unforgettable birth of “Dick Falange.” Support the show

BIG Life Devotional | Daily Devotional for Women

Alright, my armored up sister – we have a battle all around us – what are we going to do about it? Well, here's what we're NOT called to do – we're not called to run head first into battles with the enemy.  We're not told to sneak into enemy territory and plan an attack.  We're told to put on our armor and STAND FIRM.  Do not waver.  Do not back down.  Don't give an inch of territory.  Don't settle.  STAND FIRM. Our job is to stand with our armor, eyes fixed on Jesus.  Hey Rambo, settle down!  Lone Ranger, you're not supposed to do this alone.  God has a resounding message for us throughout scripture: Exodus 14:14 – “The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.” Deuteronomy 1:30 – “The LORD your God… will fight for you.” Deuteronomy 3:22 – “The LORD your God himself will fight for you.” Deuteronomy 20:4 – “For the LORD your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies.” Joshua 23:10 – “The LORD your God fights for you.” 2 Chronicles 20:15 – “The battle is not yours, but God’s.” Nehemiah 4:20 – “Our God will fight for us.” God is fighting – you are to be standing firm.  If you're in the middle of a battle, you keep standing and trust God to fight for you as he promises.  But make sure you have all your armor on! Let me tell you what is NOT part of God's armor: • Worrying • Whining • Wallowing Paul tells us there's one final thing we must do in the spiritual battle in the unseen … After all this armor, we MUST STAY IN COMMUNICATION WITH OUR COMMANDER.  All the armor in the world will do you no good if you're out Rambo-ing alone.  God isn't looking for a Lone Ranger. Ephesians 6:18, “Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion.  Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.” Oh if we truly had any idea of the power of our prayers, we would never fail to pray about anything ever again.  We just don't see how our prayers move Heaven.  We don't see how our prayers allocate God's divine power.  We don't see how an army of angels are dispatched for the battle with our prayers. Prayer is your communication with your commander.  The one who holds the battle plan, the one who sees every detail, the one who promises the victory – you have a direct line of communication with Him!  And yet here we are, God's girls with divine armor, trying to fight our battles without talking to God first. Remember when Paul writes the book of Ephesians and tells us about this Armor of God in chapter 6, he's likely chained to a literal Roman soldier, keeping him in prison.  He's looking at this soldier, recognizing piece by piece how his armor relates to everything God has given us for the battle we’re against Satan and his demons.  And he's witnessing this soldier receiving orders from his commander.  The soldier is there doing what he's been told to do.  He's not alone, he's on assignment. He's seeking his commander for his next move.  He's on the orders of a higher power than himself. Girl, you're on the orders of a higher power than yourself.  You can't afford to be running off into battles, trying things your own way, hoping to fix and save everyone, without constant communication with your Commander.  PRAY IN THE SPIRIT AT ALL TIMES AND ON EVERY OCCASION. The Greek word translated “Pray in”  means “in connection to” and “with the help of”.  This isn't about the words we are saying.  This is about HOW we are praying.  This is a connection with God through the Holy Spirit to receive divine orders. Now we can make this complicated and messy and really awkward if we want, but it doesn't have to be that way.  Some say this means you have to be speaking in tongues, but scripture tells me that praying in a language you cannot personally understand is a GIFT.  Some have that spiritual gift, while others have different spiritual gifts.  Praying in an unknown language is not a badge of spiritual superiority.  Don't make this weird.  Don't make what God has given as a gift to some as a reason to be divided or turned away. Praying in the spirit is a heart posture.  It is a yearning for God's will above your own.  It is a surrender, a submission.  It is a connection void of boxes to check and vain words to repeat.  This isn't habit or custom.  Praying in the Spirit is a connection with God through conversation. If I'm praying for you in the Spirit, it means more than just speaking your name in prayer.  It means I'm allowing the Holy Spirit to direct my prayer.  When the Holy Spirit is directing, you begin praying over things you may not even know about.  Chains to be broken that you don't even see.  Healing to happen from within.  This is an unrushed, unscripted prayer directed by the Spirit.  THAT IS WHAT WE ARE CALLED TO. Praying in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion is a continual connection with your commander.  It's seeking his plan and receiving his plan. “Pray in the Spirit”: This means praying under the influence, guidance, and power of the Holy Spirit. It involves aligning your desires with God’s will rather than just listing personal wants. “At all times”: This calls for a constant posture of awareness and communication with God. It means maintaining an open, internal dialogue with God throughout the day, not just during formal prayer times. “On every occasion”: This tells us to bring everything—both joys and crises, routine tasks and major decisions—to God. No event is too small or too large for prayer. A few weeks ago, I found myself on my knees with a woman on the busy walkways in Venice.  This was a hurting soul.  Aching as thousands of people walked by her day after day.  There she lay on her face continually in prayer, begging God for the healing of her 12 year old daughter and the rescuing of her family.  My BIG Life sister Jessica and I wrapped our arms around her, cried with her and connected with our Commander.  We prayed for her in the Spirit, meaning, we let the Holy Spirit guide us in what to pray because we didn't know how to fix her situation. Now keep in mind, there was a massive language barrier.  Yet somehow (and I know how) we were able to understand her and she was able to understand us.  Jessica prayed aloud in English, not knowing what to pray, but allowing the Spirit to guide her.  The words flowed.  Words she couldn't have orchestrated on her own.  Requests she didn't even know to make. We returned to find her the next morning in the same place, kneeling, on her face, literally begging God.  And that day, we sat with her and shared a picnic breakfast.  We treated her like a friend.  We laughed.  We connected.  We shared.  We loved.  It didn't matter who saw us.  It didn't matter what a single other soul thought.  And then we once again sought our Commander in this battle.  We prayed as the Spirit instructed. Every day since I've been on my knees for Maria and her family.  I don't need to be a Lone Ranger out fixing her situation.  My money isn't needed.  I have a direct line of communication with the Commander of Heaven's Armies, and I'm calling on him for his will, his move, his power, his healing. No Lone Ranger.  No Rambo.  Just a girl in communication with the Commander through the Holy Spirit.  And as he prompts me to pray for her, I do.  Not to check a box.  Not out of habit or routine.  But out of relationship with the One who can truly battle for her. Ephesians 6:18 in the Amplified Bible says, “With all prayer and petition pray [with specific requests] at all times [on every occasion and in every season] in the Spirit, and with this in view, stay alert with all perseverance and petition [interceding in prayer] for all God's people.” The Message translation says, “Prayer is essential in this ongoing warfare. Pray hard and long. Pray for your brothers and sisters. Keep your eyes open. Keep each other’s spirits up so that no one falls behind or drops out.” This prayer is a continuous, divinely guided LIFESTYLE rather than an occasional activity.  God really isn't interested in what you do once in a while or even what you do out of routine, he's interested in true relationship and connection with YOU!  Isn't it wild to think the Creator of the entire Universe desires a real relationship with you, and the way you have it is through continual conversation with him?! Prayer is the ultimate weapon that activates all the other pieces of spiritual armor.  Without communication with our Commander, we're just girls with all the armor, running in the wrong direction, fighting battles we have no business fighting. Let's shift from routine to lifestyle.  Move from treating prayer as a morning or evening chore to practicing it as an ongoing conversation. Let's rely on spiritual guidance.  When you don't know what to pray, pause and ask the Holy Spirit to guide your thoughts and words.  You don't have to make it weird. Let's cover all situation.  Bring your daily work, your stress, your relationships and your gratitude to God instantly as they happen. Talk to your Commander!  Don't be the Lone Ranger out trying to do this alone! The lesson? The patterns you repeat are shaping who you become, and even your suffering can become a story of bold faith.

Our chains often feel more like a burden than an opportunity. So often, we focus on the results of our lives and miss the opportunities our chains give us to strengthen others. Join us this week as we see how Paul's chains strengthened the church, enabling them to use their own struggles to advance the gospel.

This message centers on the imperative of remembrance and mutual care within the body of Christ, calling believers to remember the sufferings of the saints, especially Paul's bonds, as a vital act of faith and obedience. It emphasizes the theological themes of Christ's supremacy, the unity of the church across geographic and social boundaries, and the enduring power of the gospel despite persecution, illustrated through the historical context of Laodicea's pride and spiritual blindness. We must reject self-sufficiency and embrace humility, while drawing strength from the shared sufferings and triumphs of the saints throughout history. The call to remember is not a mere nostalgia but a moral and spiritual duty, rooted in Scripture and essential to preserving the church's identity and mission. The Gospel's success in the ancient world and the enduring legacy of faithful witness are grounded in divine sovereignty and must inspire present-day faithfulness, boldness, and brotherly solidarity.

Logan Jones-Wilkins is back from the mud in Kansas to break down a wild 26-mph crash, the dominant Specialized Crux 5 debut, and why gravel racing might never be the same. As we mentioned last week, Logan was in Emporia, Kansas covering Unbound 2026. Now he's back in the studio and Mike Levy and I get to talk about what he saw. Part of that is the new Specialized Crux, but before we get there, we start with a discussion of how Logan did in his own Unbound 100 race. It wasn't exactly a quiet day out. Logan details a wild situation that unfolded right in front of him, going from 26 mph to on the ground in an instant. Despite the crash, he still managed a 5-hour and 50-minute finish on the new Crux 5, and he finally shares the real details on what the bike is like to ride. From there, we get into the rest of the racing in Kansas, and that means the mud. This year, the Flint Hills delivered thick, sticky mud that forced massive sections of walking and led multiple pros to pee on their drivetrains just to keep moving. We also tackle the arrival of true team tactics. Specialized exerted absolute control over the front of the pack in the Men's 200, prompting the question: is this the natural evolution of the sport, or does it completely change the fabric of gravel racing? The Women's 200 was a slow build with constant anticipation, blowing up early and culminating with riders Sophia Gomez Villafañe and Geerike Schreurs texting mid-race to orchestrate attacks for the final sprint. Finally, we look at the giant prototype Scott 32-inch wheeled bikes that made their debut. What does that mean for the technology, and will you see it roll out on production models soon? Welcome to Day 2874 of Wisdom-Trek. Thank you for joining me. This is Guthrie Chamberlain, Your Guide to Wisdom. Day 2874 – “Freedom From Bondage”  based on Luke 8:22-39 Putnam Church Message – 05/03/2026 The Good News According to Luke: “Freedom from Bondage”   Last week's message was: “Where Are You in This Picture?” We reflected on what type of soil our lives represent and whether we are hiding the light of Christ rather than sharing it with others. Today, we continue with our twenty-first message from Luke's narrative of the Good News of Jesus Christ. Today's message is: “Freedom from Bondage.” Our core passage today is Luke 8:22-39, which is found on page 1606 of your pew Bibles. Jesus Calms the Storm 22 One day Jesus said to his disciples, “Let us go over to the other side of the lake.” So they got into a boat and set out. 23 As they sailed, he fell asleep. A squall came down on the lake, so that the boat was being swamped, and they were in great danger. 24 The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Master, Master, we're going to drown!” He got up and rebuked the wind and the raging waters; the storm subsided, and all was calm. 25 “Where is your faith?” he asked his disciples. In fear and amazement they asked one another, “Who is this? He commands even the winds and the water, and they obey him.” Jesus Restores a Demon-Possessed Man 26 They sailed to the region of the Gerasenes,[a] which is across the lake from Galilee. 27 When Jesus stepped ashore, he was met by a demon-possessed man from the town. For a long time this man had not worn clothes or lived in a house, but had lived in the tombs. 28 When he saw Jesus, he cried out and fell at his feet, shouting at the top of his voice, “What do you want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg you, don't torture me!” 29 For Jesus had commanded the impure spirit to come out of the man. Many times it had seized him, and though he was chained hand and foot and kept under guard, he had broken his chains and had been driven by the demon into solitary places. 30 Jesus asked him, “What is your name?” “Legion,” he replied, because many demons had gone into him. 31 And they begged Jesus repeatedly not to order them to go into the Abyss. 32 A large herd of pigs was feeding there on the hillside. The demons begged Jesus to let them go into the pigs, and he gave them permission. 33 When the demons came out of the man, they went into the pigs, and the herd rushed down the steep bank into the lake and was drowned. 34 When those tending the pigs saw what had happened, they ran off and reported this in the town and countryside, 35 and the people went out to see what had happened. When they came to Jesus, they found the man from whom the demons had gone out, sitting at Jesus' feet, dressed and in his right mind; and they were afraid. 36 Those who had seen it told the people how the demon-possessed man had been cured. 37 Then all the people of the region of the Gerasenes asked Jesus to leave them, because they were overcome with fear. So he got into the boat and left. 38 The man from whom the demons had gone out begged to go with him, but Jesus sent him away, saying, 39 “Return home and tell how much God has done for you.” So the man went away and told all over town how much Jesus had done for him. Opening Prayer Heavenly Father, thank You for Your living Word and for the Gospel of Luke, which continues to show us more clearly who Jesus is. Thank You that You did not leave this fallen world to sink under the weight of sin, fear, and evil, but You sent Your Son into our darkness. As we come to this passage today, open our eyes to the power of Christ, open our hearts to trust Him more fully, and open our lives to the freedom only He can give. Calm what is storming within us. Break what has held us captive. Strengthen what has grown weak. And let us leave today with a deeper confidence that Jesus is Lord over every force that terrifies us. In His name we pray, amen. As we continue with our twenty-first message in this Luke series, we come to a dramatic turning point. Up to this point, Luke has shown Jesus healing diseases, cleansing lepers, forgiving sins, raising the dead, and receiving the broken. We have watched Him touch individual lives with compassion and power. But in Luke 8:22–39, the curtain pulls back even farther. Here, Jesus does not merely ease suffering. / He confronts the larger powers behind suffering. / He speaks to the wind and the waves. / He commands demons. / He crosses into hostile territory. / He delivers a man no one else could help. / And then He sends that healed man home as a witness. This is not just a story about weather and one troubled man. This is a revelation of the King who has come to reclaim enemy-held ground. The world we live in is not the world God originally made it to be. Genesis tells us that God created a good world, ordered, fruitful, beautiful, and fit for human flourishing. But because of sin, our world has become a place of storms, sorrow, chaos, fear, bondage, disease, death, and decay. We all know this, not just from theology, but from experience. We have all ridden through storms. We have all seen chaos. We have all known people in bondage. And if we are honest, some of us know bondage from the inside. So, this passage asks us a very important question: When the forces of chaos and darkness rise, who is Jesus really? Luke's answer is clear:   He is Lord over the storm. He is Lord over the demons. He is Lord over the broken human heart. And He is Lord over the mission that turns the delivered / into witnesses. A Simple Object Lesson Hold up a small chain connected to a padlock and a set of keys. “This is what bondage looks like. Sometimes it is visible, sometimes invisible. Sometimes it is addiction. Sometimes fear. Sometimes bitterness. Sometimes shame. Sometimes torment of mind.” Hold up the keys and say, “Chains are strong, but keys represent authority. The chain may look powerful, but the one with the key has the final word.” Luke 8 shows us a man whom everyone else tried to bind with chains. Those chains failed. But when Jesus arrived, no chain, no demon, no storm, and no chaos could stand against Him. Christ has the key. That leads us to our first of four truths. Main Point 1: Jesus has authority over the chaos that terrifies us. Luke tells us that Jesus said to His disciples, “Let's cross to the other side of the lake.” So, they got into a boat and set out. Then, as they sailed, Jesus fell asleep. A fierce storm came down on the lake. The boat began to fill with water. The disciples panicked and woke Him, crying, “Master, Master, we're going to drown!” Now pause there and feel the scene. These were not children afraid of a little rain. / Several of these men were seasoned fishermen. / They knew this lake. / They had read the sky before. They had handled boats before. But the Sea of Galilee could turn violent in moments. Sitting far below sea level, surrounded by hills, and cut by sudden winds, it could quickly become dangerous. Ancient people often saw the sea not merely as water, but as a symbol of disorder and threat. To them, the sea represented what could not be controlled. The mighty sea serpent. So, when experienced men panic, this was no small inconvenience. And where is Jesus? / Asleep. That detail matters. It reveals both His humanity and His calm. He is weary enough to sleep through danger, and secure enough to rest in the middle of it. Then Jesus rises and rebukes the wind and the raging waves. Immediately, the storm stops, and the lake becomes calm. What a moment that must have been. One instant: shrieking wind, crashing water, frantic bailing, shouted voices, terror in the eyes. The next instant: stillness. Silence. Water settling. Hearts pounding. The disciples staring at Jesus in stunned fear and wonder. And then Jesus asks, “Where is your faith?” / Not, “Why were there waves?” / Not, “Why were you surprised that life got hard?” / But, “Where is your faith?” This passage does not teach that real...

In this episode, YIMBY Law's Sonja Trauss sits down with Alex Horowitz, Project Director of the Housing Policy Initiative at The Pew Charitable Trusts, to explore new research on how housing supply impacts affordability across American cities. The conversation examines the concept of “moving chains”—the process by which new housing creates opportunities throughout the housing market as residents move between homes. Sonja and Alex discuss why housing shortages disproportionately harm low-income renters, how new market-rate housing can reduce pressure on existing affordable units, and what the data reveals about the relationship between housing production and affordability. They also explore common misconceptions about new development, the political challenges surrounding housing production, and why zoning restrictions and permitting delays continue to worsen affordability nationwide. If you've ever wondered whether building more housing actually lowers costs, this episode offers a data-driven look at one of the most important debates in housing policy today. Send us Fan MailWelcome to Rational Black Thought, the podcast where we examine politics, religion, culture, and society through the lens of critical thinking and Black consciousness. I am your host, Neo Griot. Our title today comes from Queen B's Freedom, because, if I must, I will break chains all by myself, but I would rather have the assistance of likeminded people. This week's episode is about reality itself. Not politics. Not Democrats versus Republicans. Not Left versus Right.Reality.Because one of the most dangerous developments in America isn't just political polarization. Human beings have always disagreed about politics. That's normal. The deeper crisis is that we're rapidly losing the ability to agree on what's objectively true. We're becoming a nation divided not merely by ideology, but by epistemology. By competing understandings of how truth is determined. One side still believes that facts matter, evidence matters, expertise matters, and that reality exists independent of our emotions. The other side increasingly believes that truth is whatever emotionally validates the tribe. And once a society reaches that point, democracy itself becomes unstable.Because democracy requires a shared reality framework. It requires some common understanding of facts, evidence, and objective conditions. If citizens cannot agree on what is real, then politics stops being negotiation and starts becoming psychological warfare. And let me be blunt.Black people cannot afford to be confused about this moment. We have spent centuries surviving propaganda. We survived slavery mythology. We survived Lost Cause mythology. We survived welfare queen mythology. We survived crime panic mythology. We survived voter fraud mythology. That makes this moment especially important.Because now the entire country is beginning to experience what Black Americans have long understood:Let's get to this week's agenda:Intro:Quote of the Week: bell hooksUnmasking the News:Democracy Watch: Stacey Abrams and the Warning SignsMAGA and the Epstein Conspiracy Implosion The Religion Business Good News: Building Institutions That Can Survive the Collapse     Strategies for Black Power: The War Against RealityReflections and Call to Action:Closing/Outro:Sources:https://thegrio.com/2025/07/14/stacey-abrams-warns-people-of-the-autocracy-happening-right-now/https://crisismagazine.com/opinion/magas-coming-demographic-apocalypsehttps://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/controversial-documentary-sheds-light-on-lack-of-accountability-within-religion-301955128.htmlhttps://jbhe.com/2026/05/local-connecticut-lawmakers-aim-to-establish-an-hbcu-satellite-campus-in-new-haven/Power Concedes Nothing without a Demand...

In this extraordinary episode Reagan talks with Ryan Skoog who is an author and the founder and president of VENTURE, a nonprofit that works in the toughest places of the world, serving war refugees, trafficked people, oppressed children, and the unreached.  Ryan shares personal stories about encountering benevolent angels, the demonic, miracles of God and the power of the Lord Jesus Christ that has transformed his life to reach the darkest places of the world. Ryan co-authored the book, "Lead with Prayer" which has moved many around the world to use their faith in Christ to pray without ceasing for God's Kingdom to come to earth as it is in heaven.  Ryan explains how the global church is exploding around the world even through persecution and intense evil and through the power of prayer people are encountering the love of Jesus as they get set free from the demonic chains of the enemy! This conversation will inspire you to see prayer not as an afterthought, but as the central strategy of the Christian life. You don't have to be afraid.” That encounter set him on a path of boldness—leading him into war zones, Bible smuggling, and fearless ministry. (04:30) – The Global Church Is Exploding Ryan explains how the church is growing faster today than at any point in history, especially in places considered unsafe, unreached, and under-resourced. (10:30) – Learning from the Global Church Ryan challenges Western believers to sit at the feet of persecuted Christians: (12:30) – The Power of Prayer in Leadership Ryan shares research revealing that many Western leaders pray less as they gain experience—contrary to Jesus' example of withdrawing more often to be with the Father. The book Lead with Prayer was born out of hundreds of interviews with global leaders whose prayer lives looked remarkably similar. (15:00) – Mama Rose's Story One of the most moving testimonies: a woman whose home was bombed seven times, who stared down a cobra while bombs fell, and who now cares for thousands of orphans. Her prayer habit? “I tithe my time—two and a half hours with Jesus every day.” (17:30) – Prayer as Friendship with Jesus From war zones to Wall Street, Ryan highlights how true prayer is rooted in relationship: (19:16) – Walking with God Daily Reagan reflects on her own prayer walks and how they mirror the global church's simple yet profound practice of abiding in Christ. 20:59Walking with God: A Return to Eden Ryan reflects on Genesis and Acts 3, describing how sin interrupted our walk with God—and how Christ restores it. “Repent and believe… so the cool of the day may return.” 23:14Crisis & Nightmares: The Catalyst for Change During COVID, Ryan's business collapsed—and his daughter was tormented by terrifying nightmares connected to their ministry. 24:08“You've Never Cried Alone” Ryan recounts an emotional encounter with Jesus. He sees Christ weeping with him—a moment that reveals the deep empathy of God. 28:25Jesus Weeps With Us The host reflects on a past ministry experience where someone saw Jesus weeping with a rape survivor—prompting a powerful conversation on the mystery of suffering and Christ's compassion. “Jesus is weeping with you. He continually intercedes for us.” 30:28Adoption, War, and Jesus' Presence Ryan shares the harrowing story of adopting a girl whose father was tortured in Myanmar. After surviving unimaginable trauma, she experienced a healing vision of Jesus telling her: “You're safe now.” 31:55From Night Terrors to Peace Since that moment with Jesus, she has not had a single night terror. Though still healing, the transformation began in one moment of divine presence. 32:18God's Special Grace for the Vulnerable Ryan and the host reflect on how children—especially those with special needs or trauma—often experience heaven in unique, personal ways. “Why would we think otherwise? Our God is so good.” 33:22Karma vs. the Gospel: Identity and Worth in Nepal Ryan explains how Hindu and Buddhist worldviews contribute to generational oppression and trafficking—especially among the Badi people in Nepal, known nationally as “the trafficked caste.” “Until the gospel comes in and transforms their identity… they believe they deserve to be abused.” 34:48The Gospel is Exploding Despite deep-rooted oppression, the gospel is transforming hearts around the world. One academic missions expert summed it up: “Jesus is crushing it.” 36:47When Prayer Doesn't Make Sense (But You Obey Anyway) Even when the Spirit's answer seems illogical, obedience is the path of wisdom and safety. 38:13When Partners Are Imprisoned or Martyred Heart-wrenching updates from global partners, some of whom are jailed or martyred for sharing the gospel. “We created a separate fund for the widows of martyred and imprisoned partners.” 38:46Their Prayer: Let the Gospel Go Fast Despite persecution, these leaders pray not for safety but for speed—that the good news would spread rapidly. 40:02Stop Selling, Start Loving The global church models evangelism not as performance or pressure, but as presence, prayer, and love. “In America, we don't pray as much and feel like we need to be salesmen.” 40:36 — Neuroscience and Prayer Habits Research shows: 20 minutes of prayer a day for 8 weeks can literally rewire your brain—reducing fear, anxiety, and increasing joy and openness. “Our bodies are wired to fight prayer. We have to train them.” 41:49 — Free Prayer Tools Ryan mentions free downloadable prayer habit cards at LeadWithPrayer.com, designed to help individuals, families, and ministries build consistent, life-giving prayer rhythms. 43:06 — Fighting for His Daughter in Prayer Ryan shares a personal, vulnerable story of laying face-down outside his daughter's room for months, praying for breakthrough. “I don't know why it took so long—but there is a war.” 43:45 — Spiritual Battles Are Real A chilling moment of spiritual connection: a man in South East Asia has identical nightmares to Ryan's daughter—confirming they were fighting the same battle from across the world. “We were fighting together.” 46:22 — With Him, Either Way Whether through cancer, trauma, or unanswered prayer, being with Jesus is always the goal. The joy of the global church often comes from this eternal mindset. “If the goal of life is to be like Jesus, then cancer was finishing school.” 47:57 — Your Kids Aren't Your Own Surrendering your children to God's leadership is painful—but essential. Whether it's through a miracle or a challenge, they are gifts to steward. “The gifts are both miracles and challenges.” 52:04 — Intimacy Through Surrender The most profound joy comes not from ease, but from intimacy with God in suffering. Every story in Lead With Prayer ends the same way: it was worth it, because He was there. “Desire His presence… even when you don't know what's next.”

Few cases in modern tabloid history are as bizarre, twisted, and jaw-dropping as the story of Joyce McKinney — the former beauty queen, ex-Mormon, and alleged “love-obsessed” woman accused of flying across the world, handcuffing her ex-lover to a bed in rural England, and forcing him into what the British press dubbed “sex in chains.” But beneath the campy headlines and late-1970s media circus was something far darker and stranger: a disturbed woman who insisted she was rescuing the man she loved from a religious cult, a kidnapped Mormon missionary who was tortured and sexually assaulted for three days, tabloid hysteria, countless aliases, fugitive drama, and a case so outrageous it blurs the line between true crime, psychological obsession, and a full-blown fever dream. What does it actually look like to stop living for a paycheck and start living for yourself?   In this episode of Someone Gets Me, Dianne A. Allen shares the mic with Frank McKenna, a man who spent 24 years at a job he hated, followed a quiet pull toward something completely unexpected, and built a life that most people only dream about. Frank shares how curiosity and persistence led him from New York to California to the Mississippi Delta, and why following your own path often looks nothing like what the world expects of you.   Frank talks openly about what it took to leave a life that looked successful on the outside but felt empty on the inside, how he built meaningful community in a place he wasn't even from, and why his definition of success has nothing to do with a salary anymore.   Watch the Someone Gets Me Podcast - Following Curiosity Out of Convention with Frank McKenna   Did you enjoy this episode? President Trump just dominated the historic summit in Beijing — and a top body language expert says he was straight-up lion-like. According to renowned expert Lillian Glass, Trump showed massive confidence and “gravitas” during his meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping. He wasn't intimidated at all — instead, he deployed powerful back pats that were both friendly and dominant, while the two leaders displayed genuine warmth and walked in perfect sync. Trump stood tall like a military man, moved with strength and stamina, and proved once again he's built for the world stage. The expert even shut down health rumors, pointing out Trump's strong walk up the Great Hall steps. We Also cover: Rand Paul on Dr. Fauci.  CIA raids Tulsi Gabbards' office?
