This week I sat on the couch, turned on the mic, and tried to process the unthinkable. Conservative activist and Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk was assassinated at Utah Valley University. He was shot in front of a crowd of 3,000 people while doing what he did best, speaking to a room full of young Americans. The suspect, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, was arrested after his own father recognized him in photos and pushed him to turn himself in.I don't agree with everything Charlie Kirk ever said. Most of us didn't. But what happened this week was not politics, it was a human being murdered in broad daylight for having an opinion. That should scare every single one of us.I talk about how social media forced all of us to watch this tragedy unfold in real time, how the country immediately split into categories of support, denial, or celebration, and why celebrating a man's death is one of the lowest things you can do. I had to block a dozen people from my feed this week because they were cheering it on. It's disgusting. We also talk about the dangerous “what ifs” of gun control and the government's already insane overreach. We list out what they've already done in the name of “freedom” while mass shootings continue to rack up daily. At what point do we say enough is enough? But I couldn't end the pod there. We switch gears. We cover the announcement of a new Super Mario Galaxy movie, new Nintendo Switch 2 games, and of course, the wildest reality TV news of the week. Alex Cooper announcing the new Bachelorette live on Call Her Daddy. And yes, it's Taylor from Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. The chaos writes itself. Add in Love is Blind season 9 contestants (including a guy who openly admits to eating his own boogers) and we somehow manage to close this episode on a note of absurdity instead of despair. This episode is equal parts grief, anger, disbelief, and satire. From the assassination of Charlie Kirk, to Nintendo milking us for another $70 Mario remaster, to the Bachelorette going full Mormon swinger scandal, episode 205 is exactly the rollercoaster I promised at the start.
More news about the Coldplay cheating scandal comes to light. Taylor Frankie Paul announced that she'll be on The Bachelorette on the podcast Call Her Daddy.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
In this episode of The Flame: Entertainment & Sports, host Rob Cao kicks things off in entertainment with a full Dancing with the Stars Season 34 cast breakdown. Rob highlights each couple, gives preseason predictions, and tabs Alix & Val, Dylan & Daniella, and Robert & Witney as finalists. He also spotlights Danielle & Pasha as a pair to watch, and praises the brand new troupe, especially Hailey Bills, calling her a superstar who has been making an impact since DWTS Juniors.Next, Rob dives into Bachelor Nation's big news: Taylor Frankie Paul has been announced as the next Bachelorette on Call Her Daddy with Alex Cooper. As the first lead from outside the franchise, Rob applauds the bold choice, noting Taylor's authenticity, massive built-in following, and the fresh energy she brings at a time when ratings have dipped. In sports, Rob shifts to the Miami Dolphins' embarrassing Week 1 loss to the Colts, expressing concern about the lack of fight and previewing the home opener against the Patriots. He warns fans about Mike Vrabel's elite game-planning, recalling his Titans' upset of Miami two seasons ago. Rob also recaps the Bills' comeback win over the Ravens, praising the resiliency championship teams need across any sport.

When the creator and host of the number one listened to podcast amongst women globally decided to launch a hydration beverage…it sparked tons of both positive and negative commentary from industry pundits. But could Alex Cooper be the sports drinks category version of Alanu Nu creator Katy Hearn…that was a major catalyst for broadening the appeal of energy drinks to female consumers? Well…it's been a half-year since Unwell Hydration launched, and you're probably wondering if Alex Cooper made the beverage industry “Call Her Daddy” yet. In all honestly…not even close, at least not yet, but the beverage brand is now generating around $2 million in tracked channel retail sales monthly. Though, with its Nestle strategy partnership, and intentionally throttled distribution strategy right now, Unwell Hydration could easily see substantial growth soon. But if you're curious how that compares to the market leader Gatorade…let's just say the PepsiCo brand generates basically 10x that retail sales amount every single day.

Many podcasts are now recording video as well as audio, from hit interview shows like "Call Her Daddy" to the entire slate of New York Times audio podcasts. But why is an audio medium turning to video? And what do listeners think? Nick Quah, the podcast critic for Vulture and New York Magazine, joins to discuss. Plus, we take calls from listeners with their opinions on the subject for our latest installment of "Small Stakes, Big Opinions."
Good morning, islanders! Season 7's time in the villa may be over, but the “Love Island” discourse continues. Meanwhile, the beloved season 6 cast has returned with the Bravo-style limited series “Beyond the Villa.” And to kick off today's episode, we touch on some “Bachelor in Paradise” cast reactions and new hosting gigs for Bachelor stars. What if the entire sound of modern podcasting can be traced back to a single Grateful Dead song uploaded in 2001? We uncover the musical lineage that connects NPR's classical gravitas to dubstep wobbles, from the very first RSS feed experiment to the mysterious masked composer who's scored over 200 podcast themes and shaped what millions of people hear when they hit play. This deep dive reveals how podcast music evolved from classical public radio strings into today's signature blend of plinking pianos, breakbeats, and irreverent sampling—plus an exclusive interview with the enigmatic Breakmaster Cylinder, the "Han Zimmer of podcasting" who's been hiding behind a robot helmet for over a decade. Smartphones are “digital fentanyl,” says Clare Morell, author of “The Tech Exit: A Practical Guide to Freeing Kids and Teens from Smartphones.” Studies show that a child's phone or tablet usage directly affects his or her brain development and “hinders their ability to self-regulate their own emotions, to develop self-control, and impulse control,” Morell says. Consuming digital content, especially social media, is designed to cause a release of dopamine and causes kids to increasingly live in the “limbic part of their brain, which is their social-reward kind of processing center, and it is leading to the underdevelopment of their prefrontal cortex.” The prefrontal cortex is the part of the brain that is responsible for self-control, regulating emotions, and critical thinking. As more knowledge about the effect of social media on the brain becomes known, some families are choosing to ditch smartphones altogether. have decided to wait to give their children smartphones until they are adults, and to provide a road map for how other families can join the growing trend. Also on today's show, we take a moment to remember the lives lost to the flash flooding in Texas. Charlize Theron was recently a guest on Call Her Daddy with Alex Cooper. She made big news talking about her sex life but I was much more interested in Charlize pretending that Alex's traumatic childhood is equal to hers. The fact that Alex went along with that tells me she's a total narcissist. Adam Busch was checking in on Rob Saul again and he's back to the same insults that have never made sense. Brendan Schaub might actually not be liable in the new lolsuit that he was served by his former partner at that dumb CBD company. He should be sued for the promo videos he made. 2 Bears 1 Cave is taking the summer off but instead of doing it like Stern, they're going to let much more able comics take over for a couple of months… what could go wrong? Opie had to get a new phone and the result was a complete psychotic break from reality. He also announces a brand new podcast. Matt Spiegel and Laurence Holmes got into a heated debate about who was responsible for "Call Her Daddy" podcast host Alex Cooper's bizarre rendition of "Take Me Out to the Ball Game" at Wrigley Field on Sunday evening.
In the second hour, Matt Spiegel and Laurence Holmes got into a heated debate about who was responsible for "Call Her Daddy" podcast host Alex Cooper's bizarre rendition of "Take Me Out to the Ball Game" at Wrigley Field on Sunday evening. They also took calls from listeners on the topic.
Charlize Theron annoyingly joined Alex Cooper on Call Her Daddy, Texas floods killed over 100, Pearl Jam member exits, JLo embarrassingly heads to Europe, the saga of Andy Green, and the BBL smell test. Jim Bentley does not have a bobblehead on his desk, but can he make a 45 yard FG? Andy Green continues his tour around NYC and is now sponsored, but not by us. Chicago Cubs fans rightfully hate Alex Cooper for turning Take Me Out to the Ballgame into a skit Charlize Theron recently popped up on Call Her Daddy. Coop other grift is selling female Prime. Kristin Cavallari hates her father as much as Meghan Markle hates Thomas. Thomas Markle is dying ASAP. Queen Elizabeth did NOT want their brat named after her. Suits wanted to reboot, but Markle is too big to participate. This woman crashed pretty hard during her rendition of the National Anthem. Pearl Jam's drummer, Matt Cameron, hangs up the drumsticks. OnlyFans ‘star' Denise Richards is getting a divorce. 16 and Pregnant ‘star' Whitney Purvis arrested. The Texas floods are devastating. Sade Perkins is being a bitch about it. Rosie O'Donnell blames the floods on Donald Trump. A Michigan man in Texas was taken out by Border Patrol. Not too far away an officer was shot at an immigration detention center. Nancy Mace vs Tim Walz. Joe Biden's doctor is set to be grilled in congress. The books keep dropping on Joe. JLo still wants you to bang her. She's touring in Europe and ticket sales aren't that great. Ben Affleck is worried about the next man in Jennifer's life, Brett Goldstein. Big booties mean big stinky butts. Scarlet Black has a smelly behind. Sam Asghari has ghosted Britney Spears… since they are divorced. Former USFL MVP KaVontae Turpin is the latest Dallas Cowboy in trouble. Marijuana may hurt the liver. Tom Mazawey has entered the Home Plate Club before Drew. Kate Phillips is destroying the female cycling competition… cause she's a guy. Megyn Kelly is joined by Stu Burguiere, host of BlazeTV's "Stu Does America," to discuss key policy wins in Trump's Big Beautiful Bill, including increased ICE funding, immigration reform efforts, and provisions aimed at protecting women's sports, why the right instinctively wants to point out the parts of the bill they don't like, how Trump is delivering on his campaign promises about protecting women's sports, his forcing UPenn to bend the knee and apologize for Lia Thomas, the cultural backlash against biological males in women's sports, Paramount's $16 million payout to settle Trump's lawsuit against CBS News, how legacy media abandoned journalism to oppose Trump, what this settlement and the reaction to it signals about the declining influence of left-leaning media giants, the outrage over Diddy being cleared of the most serious charges, whether he could end up making a comeback now, outrageous remarks from Joy Reid comparing Alligator Alcatraz to a "concentration camp," Elie Mystal's insane comments about Trump wanting to murder people, Charlize Theron's vulgar comment about sleeping with a 26-year-old on "Call Her Daddy," her f-bomb rant about why she's glad she's a single mom, Megyn's theory about Theron's public persona, and more. EP #779: Bryan finds "Alabama Fraternity Consulting" on Insta and is instantly drawn into this mystical creature's world. How does this work? Who uses his services? Who is he? How is he still going to Frat parties at 55 years old?! It's VERY Old School! Then, Xena the cat is remembered. RIP to Rachel's cat who even found a place in Bryan's heart (he is not a cat guy).
