Monster Week ended up being a monster episode for all of us here at Forge The World HQ and ended up taking longer than expected to deliver to your ears. Sorry about that and thank you for being patient with us, we're excited to finally be delivering some incredible Black Rock Coast monsters for your listening pleasure.

We have a content packed episode this week, because you guys provided us with so much good material we could barely fit it into one episode. Prepare to be transported into new areas of the coast so deep and rich with lore that it may change your whole perspective on the setting. From being a little light on detail to potentially some of the most fleshed out sections of the campaign guide so far, we hope you love these editions to the canon. As for next week, simples: IT'S MONSTER WEEK!!! Give our monsters special features or abilities like you would see in their stat block or just team up with the community to make a full stat block for each of our unique monsters. Feel free to contribute art or descriptions of new monsters providing that you've had one waiting for a while, otherwise flesh out some of the incredible monsters already there.

Join Kieran, Matthew, Michael, and some very special guests for a recap episode on the state of the forge so far. There's been some incredible progress made toward our mission to build a playable shared campaign setting for The Adventurer's Alliance. As we tie up a few loose ends from the responses we've received so far, we thought it would be a great opportunity to take a walk down memory lane and explore some of our favourite features of the world so far.

They form the backbone of our societies and in game terms, they present the perfect foundation for backgrounds and adventure hooks. Their origins may be steeped in tradition or formed on the back of a couple of ales in a tavern. However they come about, these organisations give us purpose, a place to work, grow and belong and are therefore vital to a living fantasy setting. We were so amped about the responses we received to this prompt that it inspired a bit of a bumper episode. So while it may be a touch longer than our usual episodes, stick with it and we promise you won't be disappointed. Until next time, keep forging the world.

How do you colour a campaign session where the party spends most of their time moving from A to B? Traversing the grand landscapes of D&D should be an epic experience and nothing adds colour to travel quite like well described landmarks. This week, we put D&D's ability to ignite our imaginations to the test by adding rich descriptions of physical landmarks into the 'Forge The World' setting. So without further ado, enjoy the haunting, fantastical, and epic additions to Sablereach and Firstshore lore in the show notes below!

Welcome back! In this episode we witnessed the creation of some truly inspired and memorable characters. Leaders who have shaped the culture and direction of their local communities. We hope that each of these NPCs will be enjoyed for a long time to come, as we eventually start playing games and campaigns within the setting. We also set the prompt for next week! Landmarks and Locations - It's time to set the stage for all the action that's going to take place within The Black Rock Coast. Now that we have this wonderful macro setting and a cast of interesting characters we want the places that our adventurers can visit, meet, explore, adventure, plunder and spy on. Think buildings, landmarks, places of interest, forbidden areas, constant places and locations that are different every time you go there. By the time we're done with this weeks prompt we'd love to have enough content, for our marvellous artist community to have a crack at doing micro maps of these fantastical lands. Welcome to the *very* second episode of Forge the World. In this episode, we broke down three new sections of our fast-evolving world. You'll be introduced to Sable Reach, First Shore and some areas of mystery and danger. The content for this episode was brought together from a swag of brilliant responses from a number of community members. Big shouts go out to Leah Otäck, Jay Hickory, Brent Walters, Michael Froend, Tom Dawe, Skate Murray, Luke Cotte and Belinda Boardman who all played a part in bringing the various canon elements in this weeks episode to life! We also introduced this week's prompt: "Leaders" which will be an awesome chance to get your teeth stuck into some NPC creation. Who are the key people of influence that have made their mark on the Black Rock Coast? Choose a character past or present that you think could be critical to the setting, describe them in detail and we'll include a collection of the best responses next week!
