Future Rewind proves that journalism is best when we include each other. Host Sandy Chávez relates formative experiences from her life in Los Angeles to stories on a diverse range of themes produced by NPR’s Next Gen Radio—a program that’s been training journalists for more than twenty years. We hear from the reporter of each story about their experience creating it and learn that the best sources of inspiration are often personal, organic, and heartfelt. Our series consists of five mid-length episodes that will be released weekly and were researched, written, edited, engineered and produced by a small but mighty team of program alumnae with funding and assistance from LAist Studios. This is the way storytelling is meant to be.
