On the 5th episode of It Starts Here, we interview Conor Ferguson of WISPr Systems. Located in Batesville, Mississippi, WISPr Systems began in 2015 with an idea conceived by CEO/co-founder Conor Ferguson to develop drones for performing site surveys for WISP, while working an internship with Austin Ratcliffe. He started taking the project seriously soon after, and Conor and Austin formed WISPr Systems. WISPr Systems aims to increase efficiency, save time, and save money (versus the traditional surveying methods) by using our commercial drones - WISPr Scout and WISPr Pogo - to complete site surveys. We have invented the first drone that can safely carry and power a CPE antenna and autonomously complete a site survey to locate the strongest signal strength to install wireless internet services.
Episode 4 of It Starts Here features the three individuals who make up Duett Technology. When Mississippi State agricultural engineering alumnus Thomas White started cutting hair as a hobby, he came across a problem many barbers have dealt with for decades—his electric clippers kept getting uncomfortably hot. Like most barbers, White started buying multiple pairs of clippers so he could keep cutting while the others cooled down. But conversations with one of his MSU classmates, Tyler Anthony, has led to the creation of a start-up company that is trying to make clippers in a better way.
In episode 3 of It Starts Here, we interview Stephen Caples, Co-Founder of BattleBells. Battle Bells was founded in 2012 by MSU alumni, Stephen Caples and John Howell. Within a few months of the original BattleBell’s release, Mississippi State fans adopted the BattleBell as their own. As each BattleBell made its way into Davis Wade Stadium, the noise grew louder, the wins increased, and a new standard was set for MSU football fans.
On Episode 2 of It Starts Here, we interview Charles Parker of Rod Sox, one of the original startups from the E-Center. The original Rod Sox covers your fishing rod and keeps everything in place so your fishing rod is ready to use when you need it. Rod Sox™ was created by pros that love fishing and want to spend as much time fishing when they’re on the water as possible. We hope you enjoy our first guest interview!
