Preview season rolls on as we dive into the SEC, figure out the contenders and pretenders, making some irresponsible predictions, and chew on the conference's biggest storylines going into the 2025 college football season. In this SEC preview episode, we discuss the impact Arch Manning could have on the Texas Longhorns, provided the offensive line can get sorted in time. Plus, a conversation around whether this year's Alabama squad will feel more "DeBoerian" than in 2024, and how Georgia stacks up with Gunner Stockton at the helm. We also debate the meaty middle of the conference and wonder if Brian Kelly can turn talent into big wins, if Mike Elko can bully the conference with his rushing attack, if DJ Lagway can handle a murderer's row of a schedule, and if Missouri is the ultimate wildcard. And of course, a conversation about a new-look Ole Miss, the fearsome trio of LaNorris Sellers, Dylan Stewart and Nyck Harbor at South Carolina, Oklahoma's new quarterback / coordinator tandem, Tennessee's transfer trade, Auburn's portal fever, and much more. And finally, we take the temperature of Arkansas, Vandy, Kentucky and Mississippi State. Consider this your starter pack for the 2025 SEC football season. ESPN's Chris Low joins 365 Sports to unpack his deep dive on the 2025 college football schedule—and why Clemson might finally be back in championship form. Low reveals why Cade Klubnik and Dabo Swinney's crew could be the most balanced and dangerous team in the country, and why Miami's schedule keeps them grounded despite talent upgrades. We also dig into why Texas Tech faces the toughest path in the Big 12, how Mississippi State drew the short straw with its brutal home slate, and whether Texas got a scheduling gift in its first full SEC season. PowerMizzou's Gabe DeArmond joins Southeastern 16's Chris Lee to preview Missouri football for the 2025 college football season. Topics include: Penn State transfer quarterback Beau Pribula has been an efficient runner and thrower in limited experience. What does he bring--and could he be beaten out by Los Angeles Dodgers' pitching signee Sam Horn? Louisiana-Monroe transfer Ahmad Hardy had 1,423 yards from scrimmage as a true freshman and could challenge for the league's rushing title. The Tigers don't have tremendous experience at wide receiver, but Mississippi State transfer Kevin Coleman and Illinois State transfer Xavier Loyd both registered over 900 receiving yards last season. Missouri returns two of the league's better offensive linemen in Cayden Green and Connor Tollison, and adds Wake Forest transfer Keegan Trost at right tackle. The Tigers' defense is stout, thanks to transfers Damon Wilson III (Georgia), Josiah Trotter (West Virginia), Nate Johnson (Appalachian State), Jaylen Catalon (UNLV/Arkansas), Mose Phillips (Virginia Tech) and Stephen Hall (Washington State). Missouri returns a number of good defenders in Chris McClellan, Zion Young, Dylan Carnell, Dreyden Norwood, Toriano Pride and Marvin Burks, too. The Tigers' schedule is “easy” by SEC standards (no Texas, Georgia, LSU or Florida) but not easy on the whole (nine teams with a legitimate shot at bowl eligibility). Is the country sleeping on Missouri before the season starts?
Parker Thune of KREF Norman looks at Oklahoma as they open practice. Rusty Hampton was the sports editor at the Clarion Ledger for 11 years and worked there for 25 years in two different stints. Southeastern 16's Chris Lee and Chase Robinson preview Texas A&M's 2025 football season. Topics include: The Aggies return one of the SEC's best running backs in Le'Veon Moss, whose absence hurt the team dearly when he got hurt late in ‘24. They'll supplement him with three other returnees at the position. Marcel Reed enters his second year as a starter, and will have two impact receiver transfers in North Carolina State's Kevin Concepcion and Mississippi State's Mario Craver who'll help with team speed. Do the Aggies have the SEC's best offensive line? It's possible; left tackle Trey Zuhn, left guard Chase Bisontis, right guard Arm'aj Reed-Adams are all-star candidates. Plus, the Aggies have the two players who started all their games at center last year Mark Nabou Jr., who was knocked out for the year in the opener and replaced with Kolinu'u Faalu) and returning right tackle starter Demetrius Crownover. A&M's struggles against the run on defense led coach Mike Elko to take over play-calling duties this year. The Aggies will build around a pair of stars in All-American linebacker Taurean York and corner Will Lee III. Texas A&M also has talent up front in Cashius Howell and Albert Regis, but need to generate more pass rush. The Aggies have a schedule that isn't among the league's easiest or hardest. Circle the game at Notre Dame in Week 3; if Texas A&M avenges last season's loss, it could be in the driver's seat for a playoff berth.

He dives into concerns about quarterback play at Mississippi State, roster questions at Kentucky and UCLA, and why even a promising young QB like Nico Iamaleava may not be enough to save the Bruins in Year 1 under DeShaun Foster. The Southeastern Conference's 2025 football season promises to be one of the most compelling in recent memory, blending established powers with emerging challengers across the league's East and West divisions. At the top of the hierarchy, Alabama enters Year Two under Kalen DeBoer with a revamped offense led by rising junior quarterback Ty Simpson and a receiving corps dotted with true freshman stars. The Tide's veteran secondary—anchored by Domani Jackson and Keon Sabb—should generate turnovers, but Alabama's ability to replace departed playmakers like Jalen Milroe and Justice Haynes will be tested in hostile environments such as Florida State and Wisconsin. Meanwhile, reigning East champion Georgia faces its own transition, having lost a quartet of first-round defensive picks and quarterback Carson Beck, thrusting Gunner Stockton into the spotlight. If Georgia's offensive line coalesces quickly and their rebuilt front seven can replicate past dominance, the Bulldogs remain a threat to run the table and return to the College Football Playoff.Elsewhere in the East, Florida's Billy Napier looks to leverage a healthy DJ Lagway and a power-running duo in Jadan Baugh and Ja'Kobi Jackson to vault the Gators back into SEC contention, while Tennessee reloads rather than rebuilds under Josh Heupel, fielding a new QB battle and a defense hungry to sustain its recent success. South Carolina and Missouri lurk as potential dark horses—the Gamecocks with a ferocious “bend-but-take” defense under Clayton White, and the Tigers riding momentum from consecutive double-digit win seasons under Eliah Drinkwitz. In the West, LSU's Garrett Nussmeier returns after a Heisman-caliber campaign, but must navigate early road tests at Clemson and Ole Miss behind a retooled offensive line. Ole Miss itself, guided by Lane Kiffin, seeks to replace NFL-bound stars with redshirt sophomore Austin Simmons and a dynamic downfield attack. Auburn's Hugh Freeze, Arkansas's Sam Pittman, and Texas A&M's Mike Elko each believe veteran leadership and portal acquisitions can push their programs into the upper echelon of the West, while Kentucky and Mississippi State chase incremental gains to break long-standing slumps. As win totals hover between 7.5 and 9.5 games for the conference's marquee programs, bettors and fans alike will be poring over the odds: Alabama at 9.5, Georgia at 9.5, LSU at 8.5, and Texas A&M at 7.5, with futures on the SEC Championship ranging from +390 for Georgia to +5,000 for Missouri. Sleeper picks like South Carolina (+1,800) and Arkansas (+12,000) could reward those willing to roll the dice, while dark-horse narratives are abundant in Columbia, Fayetteville, and College Station. From the Iron Bowl and Egg Bowl to marquee non-conference clashes, every week carries playoff implications and bets on win totals, record projections, and conference-championship futures. Whether you're drafting your pick'em bracket, targeting over/unders, or simply seeking expert analysis, the SEC's 2025 slate offers drama, storylines, and betting angles that will keep college football junkies glued to their screens from Week 1 through the SEC Championship Game.
