To make up for the lack of a new episode in your feeds right now, I am throwing a quick commentary episode. My interview with my wife will be in your feeds soon! But, I said new episodes every Friday and word is bond. In this special episode, I reflect on the NYTimes article Republican Ties to Extremist Groups Under Scrutiny. I write about this a little on my substack page but I had to verbally process this one as well. America is at a turning point (still) and it's going to take a united front to beat back the swell of hate that has found a voice in the Republican party since Donald Trump came down those escalators in 2015. The media has been playing a dangerous game for four years by not calling a spade a spade and giving hate a voice. As a black man with a small but meaningful platform, I want to provide a perspective that I am not seeing in the conversations that I am hearing. Our friends in Congress who deny that our country held a free and fair election are a threat to our democracy. Our institutions took a hit the past four years and if we are not careful they will deliver the knockout punch. We need to take them seriously and not trivialize their words. I try to offer a different perspective than the ones currently portrayed throughout the media. HIt me up here to find all the ways you can join in on the conversation. Tune in soon for the next episode of Me & My Friends! Share the podcast if you like and review us on Apple Podcast! Peace!
This week I talk to the man, the myth, the legend, my friend Alex! Alex is a husband, a father, an educator, and my very first coach! He taught me how to balance perspectives and work to solve complex problems. In this episode, we get deep into race and politics and of course, fatherhood. I was humbled by Alex's vulnerability throughout this episode and I found this conversation refreshing and honest. I hope you enjoy this conversation as much as I did! --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
First episode Alert! For my first episode, I talk to the person who gave me my first example of servant leadership, Heather! She is a mother, a wife, an educator, AND an artist! We talk about how she gets all that done among so many other topics! I could not imagine the first episode going any better. I had so much fun during this conversation and I hope you all will too! If you enjoy the show, please share with your friends, so we can be friends! --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
