According to Urban Dictionary: The best people in the world are in one group chat, including you. This is where you share the best tea, hype each other up and send the best memes. Well here at The Melanin Milieu podcast, we’re bringing our personal group chats to life and right to you! We created this podcast in order to cultivate a space where young black women AND men can engage in unfiltered open-dialogue conversations about life, love, and personal experiences from the millennial perspective. So grab your phone, make sure it’s charged, and get ready for some tea, cuz we about to spill it.
On the first Season FINALE of Melanin Milieu, Anisa and Raven discuss marriage and the social pressures that come with it. Everything from the order of the household, to children, to needing social breaks, and social norms, we go deep in this episode to discuss major topics related to the conversation. How do you feel about marriage? is it necessary? Are humans even meant to be monogamous? Lets talk about it in the #groupchat.
In our second to last episode of season 1, Raven and Anisa discuss some of the most important current event topics, covering everything from WAP by Cardi B and Meg Thee Stallion, to Joe Biden selecting Kamala Harris as his running mate for the 2020 election!

Relationship", and everything in between!

In light of everything going on in the world around us, Melanin Milieu wanted to take the time to share some positivity and what better way to do that than sharing nostalgia from our Black childhoods! In this episode, Anisa and Raven take it back and we mean waaaayyy back, to our youth and growing up in the 90s-early 2000s. We discuss everything from Saturday night music videos on MTV/VH1 to Big Wheels. This is an episode 90s babies don't wanna miss!
We all know there are double standards when it comes to men and women, but do they have any more or less of an implication when it comes to Black women and men? In this episode, Anisa, Raven and our first male guest, Marlon Vargas from the Bronx, New York, (Bx Stand Upppp!) discuss everything from the "Hoe Phase" to taking last names.
What makes a person "mixed"? Can someone claim more of one side of them and not the other? How does the way you self-identify factor into how the world sees you? Raven and Anisa spend this entire episode answering these very questions and highlighting their personal experiences with their heritage and how it's shaped their lives thus far.
Us 90s babies have gone through two economic crashes, 9/11, First black President, then number 45...a rise in school/public shootings, and now the first global pandemic, all before the age of 30!
