On Friday's Mark Levin Show, Qatar is working hard to buy off as many people as they can. There's a lengthy list of influential figures—including top business executives, politicians, podcasters like Tucker Carlson, think tank members, and even some Israel supporters and hawks—who are invited to Qatar with expenses covered for first-class travel, hotels, meals, and sometimes substantial payments to speak or interview others. On Thursday's Mark Levin Show, Jim Verdi fills in for Mark. The FBI has arrested Brian Cole from Virginia as the suspect in the January 5-6, 2021 pipe bomb incident near the DNC and RNC, identified through forensic evidence. This case is a major scandal, as the Biden administration and FBI had this information for four years and they couldn't out it together?  This could also count as an assassination attempt of incoming VP Kamala Harris, yet nobody seems to want to talk about that. It seems that the Biden administration didn't want to find out who the pipe bomber was. This is just the start of unraveling unanswered questions rather than the end of the investigation.  Also, the Supreme Court ruled 6-3 in favor of Texas using its redistricting map potentially allowing the state to gain five extra seats in the midterm elections. Dissenters Kagan, Sotomayor, and Jackson argued – racism. But the redistricting was the opposite of what they alleged. Later, the latest battle in the ongoing media manipulation of the news cycle is the battle with Pete Hegseth. Democrats are pushing for Hegseth to resign or be fired by President Trump, alleging he committed a war crime during a September 2nd strike on a boat carrying drugs and two narco terrorists. It's now December, and thus a natural time to look back and think about all that's changed in 2024. What did the Middle East and the world look like at this time a year ago? President Biden was in the Oval Office and President Trump was both the former president and the president-elect. Hamas still held hostages taken on October 7. Iran's regional proxies, though weakened, still threatened both Israel and American interests across the Middle East. Fast forward to today, and the landscape looks dramatically different. Israel has achieved stunning military victories. The United States Air Force bombed nuclear sites in Iran. New diplomatic possibilities have opened up. The balance of power in the region has shifted in ways that seemed unimaginable just twelve months ago. And yet, like the laws of physics, the iron laws of politics have asserted themselves: there are unintended consequences even, and especially, of those very stunning military victories. Despite wounding their shared adversary, the Israelis and Saudis have not normalized relations and in fact may be further from rapprochement than when the threat from Iran was at its height. Israel's victory has come at a cost of political and popular support in the United States. The Trump administration's management of the hostages' homecoming, and the terms of the cease-fire, have left Hamas in place, with no external peacekeeping force other than the IDF itself willing to restore order. Our top story this week: XX Certain glucose monitors from Abbott Diabetes Care are providing users with incorrect glucose readings, an error that has been linked with the deaths of at least seven people and more than 700 serious injuries worldwide, according to an alert from the US Food and Drug Administration.   Incorrect glucose readings can lead to improper treatment. Abbott warned that about 3 million FreeStyle Libre 3 and FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus sensors are affected, but no other Libre products. Patients can visit FreeStyleCheck.com to see if their sensors are affected and to get a replacement for free.   The FDA has also published specific information about the affected products in its alert. For 72 hours in a hotel setting, they ate heavy carb-and-fat meals, skipped all meal announcements, and didn't give any mealtime insulin boluses. The system handled almost everything automatically. Researchers said the device stayed in closed-loop mode 97% of the time and there were no incidents of diabetic ketoacidosis or severe hypoglycemia reported. While using the Freedom system, participants spent a median 61% of the day in the glucose target range — slightly higher than the 56% achieved with their usual pump at home. But the biggest improvement came overnight: time in range jumped to 96% with the closed-loop system compared to just under 70% during their home-pump week.
