What does sexual wellness mean? It's fundamentally about communication. It involves discussing your sexual health, including the disclosure of STDs, your flexibility and comfort with different sexual positions, your kinks, your birth control methods, and your libido or the frequency of your desire for sex. I also delve into the frequency of your orgasms. The health benefits of frequent orgasms have yet to be fully studied. We know they provide a super boost of healthy chemicals, but we don't fully understand the lasting effects emotionally, psychologically, or physically, especially concerning menopause. It's a muscle worth training. In the weekly relationship reading, we discuss competing for a high-value partner and what to do when they are being pursued by others as well. It's a third-party situation, and I transition into a conversation about golf, using metaphors related to hazards and letting loose women play through. Was it a hole in one? I don't know. Ultimately, it's about what brings you joy. It's time to make your sexual well-being a priority, which means doing pelvic floor exercises, using protection, and establishing a regular self-care sexual routine where you don't just focus on your steps, but also on achieving orgasms! ⚠️ These are performances and for entertainment purposes only. Episode 189:For today's guest episode it is my pleasure to welcome Dr Iman Sheeha to the podcast. Her book ‘Neighbourly Relations in early modern drama has been published recently so it was a great opportunity to talk to her about her research after she had just completed a summer tour of conferences. Her work is a close examination of neighbourly relationships in early modern English drama, placing a select number of plays alongside other contemporary materials such as wills, pamphlets and sermons and other sources that give us a glimpse of the early modern lived life. The plays span the period between the 1550s and the 1620s, belong to different genres, were aimed at different audiences, and were written for different kinds of playhouses, which allows for conclusions to be drawn about the way genre shapes the treatment of neighbourly relationships, as well as revealing continuities and changes during the period.Iman Sheeha is a Senior Lecturer in Shakespeare and Early Modern Literature at Brunel University of London and co-General Editor of New Mermaids Classic Plays series. She has wide-ranging interests within the fields of Shakespeare and Early Modern Literature, including gender, race, devotional literature, service, and domesticity and she works with PhD candidates working on these and related topics. She is the author of two books: Household Servants in Early Modern Domestic Tragedy, and Neighbourly Relationships in Early Modern Drama. She has co-edited a special issue on liminal domestic spaces for Early Modern Literary Studies. Her research has appeared or is forthcoming in Shakespeare Survey, Early Theatre, The Journal of Early Modern Cultural Studies, Early Modern Literary Studies, and American Notes and Queries and she contributed a chapter to People and Piety: Devotional Writing in Print and Manuscript in Early Modern England (MUP, 2019).' She has written the introduction for the Oxford World's Classics edition of ‘The Tragedy of Master Arden of Faversham' which is due to be published by Oxford University Press in April, 2026.Links to books by Iman Sheehahttps://www.routledge.com/Neighbourly-Relationships-in-Early-Modern-Drama-Staged-Communities/Sheeha/p/book/9781032896670https://www.routledge.com/Household-Servants-in-Early-Modern-Domestic-Tragedy/Sheeha/p/book/9780367503772Support the podcast at:www.thehistoryofeuropeantheatre.comwww.patreon.com/thoetpwww.ko-fi.com/thoetp Hosted on Acast. In this episode of the Dad Edge Podcast, I sit down with Doug Bopst—former felon, now personal trainer, author, and transformational speaker—to unpack how adversity, addiction, and rock-bottom moments can become the fuel for growth, purpose, and fatherhood. Doug opens up about his journey from incarceration and drug addiction to becoming a man of impact and integrity.   We explore how pain can become power when ownership is embraced, how faith and fitness became Doug's lifeline, and why men must choose responsibility over blame to rewrite their story. This episode is a raw and redemptive look at what happens when a man stops running and starts leading—with heart, humility, and grit.     TIMELINE SUMMARY [0:00] - Welcome and Doug's powerful backstory: from pills to prison [3:48] - The moment everything changed: awakening behind bars [6:22] - Fitness as a path to discipline, clarity, and redemption [9:10] - Rebuilding trust with family through consistent action [11:36] - The identity shift from addict to athlete to leader [14:44] - Why your past doesn't disqualify you from fatherhood or purpose [17:32] - How Doug uses his pain to mentor young men and fathers [20:01] - The role of faith in healing and daily direction [23:10] - Accountability and structure as freedom—not limitation [25:38] - Why your mess can become your message [28:19] - The impact of small daily wins over massive overhauls [30:56] - Final reflections on masculinity, resilience, and second chances     5 KEY TAKEAWAYS   1. Your Past Doesn't Define You—Your Choices Do Doug proves that where you come from doesn't have to determine where you're going. Redemption starts when you take full ownership. 2. Fitness Can Be a Spiritual Practice Exercise became Doug's anchor. It wasn't just about the body—it became a tool for mental clarity, emotional regulation, and self-worth. 3. Consistency Rebuilds Trust Doug didn't win back respect overnight. It was through showing up daily—at home, at work, in faith—that others started believing in him again. 4. Your Story Can Heal Others When you share your scars instead of hiding them, you give others permission to grow. Doug's journey now empowers men to rise from their lowest points. 5. Discipline Is the Gateway to Freedom True freedom doesn't come from avoiding pain. It comes from building structure, owning your role, and becoming someone your family can count on.       LINKS & RESOURCES   Connect with Doug Bopst: https://www.dougbopst.com/free The Dad Edge Alliance: https://www.thedadedge.com/alliance 25 Questions to Spark Connection With Your Partner: https://www.thedadedge.com/25questions Podcast Hub: https://www.thedadedge.com/podcast Tools & Resources: https://www.thedadedge.com/tools     If this episode inspired you to own your past and step into your potential, follow, rate, review, and share the podcast. In this episode of Unf*ck Your Relationship, I dive into one of the most common yet challenging dynamics I see: the anxious–avoidant relationship. Instead of just giving surface-level advice like “communicate better” or “give each other more space,” I explore how shadow work is the real key to creating lasting change. I share some of my own experiences with anxiety, avoidance, and love and why I realised that traditional approaches often just reinforce the old wounds. For me, shadow work has been the tool that allowed me to see the parts of myself I had disowned and projected onto partners, which kept me locked in unhealthy cycles. Here's what I cover: Why anxious and avoidant partners are so magnetised to each other. How your partner often mirrors the parts of yourself you've hidden or rejected. Why symptom management (like “better communication”) doesn't actually heal the root cause. The difference between chemistry and true compatibility. How I personally decide when a relationship is worth working on vs. when it's time to leave. The questions I ask myself when I feel stuck in old patterns. This work has taught me that true growth in relationships comes from embodiment, not just intellectual understanding. That's exactly why I created The Connected Woman to help women integrate shadow work with practices that shift attachment patterns, so we can all show up more secure, more authentic, and more fully ourselves in love.   WORK WITH MICHELLE: Join THE CONNECTED WOMAN, a course for the woman who wants to go from anxious & self-abandoning in relationships to secure, confident and unf*ckwithable: https://michellepanning.com/the-connected-woman Sign up for THE EXPERIENCE, an exclusive 12-month mentorship experience where you go all in on YOU (aka, you get direct access to me as a mentor, access to every offer I run over your year, and MORE): https://michellepanning.com/the-experience Sign up for THE AWAKENING RETREATS now before they sell out. But what happens when we step off these escalators and design our relationships according to our own values? What if we could move beyond hierarchical thinking and embrace a more expansive view of love and connection?Enter, relationship anarchy, and Dr. Nicole Thompson, who's joining us to explore this fascinating path to more intentional, authentic connections across every aspect of our lives. We aren't just talking romance here–relationship anarchy is about reimagining all your relationships by examining and dismantling their power structures. In this episode, we talk about:— What relationship anarchy really means:— How relationship anarchy connects to political anarchist values of self-governance and community care— Why relationship anarchy isn't just about romantic or sexual relationships but applies to all connections in our lives— The difference between "power over" dynamics versus conscious stratification of relationships— How to recognize when you're using hierarchy as a safety mechanism rather than as an intentional choice— The challenge of moving away from obligation-based relationships toward mutuality and choice— Why commitment looks different in relationship anarchy— The revolutionary feeling of knowing someone chooses to be with you when they have complete freedom not to— How to begin practicing relationship anarchy by first recognizing all the relationships you already have— The importance of community in providing multiple sources of love and support— Why relationship anarchy requires ongoing consciousness about power dynamics in all areas of life— How to navigate the reality of finite time and energy without defaulting to unconscious hierarchiesResources mentioned in this episode:— Modern Anarchy Podcast, hosted by Dr. Nicole ThompsonJOIN The Year Of Opening® community for a full year of learning & support. Ever feel like you're chasing success so hard that you forget why you even started in the first place? Or maybe you're hustling day in and day out but still hitting walls of burnout, doubt, or just plain overwhelm? I've been podcasting for six years now—600 episodes, countless conversations with world-class entrepreneurs, thought leaders, and just all-around inspiring humans. And throughout this journey, I've picked up some powerful truths that have not only changed my life but can change yours too. In this special milestone episode, I share six life-changing lessons that will help you put the Happy in your Hustle and create a legacy that matters. Here's a taste of the wisdom packed inside:-Balance beats burnout. The grind without harmony isn't sustainable. That's why I created the S.O.U.L.M.A.P.P.I.N system, 10 alignments that help you crush it both personally and professionally without losing yourself.-Relationships are the real ROI. Success isn't a solo sport. The right people in your corner accelerate growth, joy, and opportunity more than any single strategy ever could.-Clarity creates confidence. Without a clear target, you'll miss every time. Knowing your North Star for the next 90 days and aligning it with your long-term vision will give you the confidence to say yes or no with certainty.-Presence is the power move. This isn't your typical family business story. Bobby started in finance, swore he'd never work with family, then life forced a pivot. Stepping in reluctantly, he helped scale the business to 40 locations and $50M, but success came at a cost: resentment, burnout, and the realization that growth without alignment is a trap. So, he walked away. Bobby went on to build Greenridge Wealth, a firm built on values, systems, and a team-first culture. His mission? Help founders build businesses that run without them so they can actually live. In this episode, Bobby lays it all out. The toll of resentment. The dangers of tying your identity to your business. The hard decisions around rebuilding teams, shifting mindsets, and designing companies that can grow without you in the middle of everything. This is about leadership, clarity, and doing it on your own terms. Not grinding forever. Not chasing empty success. Just building a business that serves your life, not the other way around. So, if you're building, scaling, or just trying to break free from the grind this episode is packed with insights you don't want to miss. Grab your notepad, tune in, and start building a business that works for you, not the other way around. “To will is human, but to surrender is divine.” - Guy Finley So much of our suffering comes when life does not go our way. Traffic makes us late, meetings unfold differently than expected, or loved ones face challenges we cannot control. In this episode of 10 Minutes to Less Suffering, you will learn how our will can equal pain, how uncertainty can become an ally instead of an enemy, and how pure surrender eases stress and creates space for renewal. These practices show us how to meet everyday struggles with less resistance and more peace. Affirmation Poem: When my will demands what life does not give, I meet the birthplace of pain. I breathe, I soften, I release. Uncertainty is not my enemy. It carries hope, renewal, and possibility. In the unknown, I am free. Surrender is not giving up. It is giving over. It is opening to life itself, allowing it to reshape me, polish me, make me whole again. Here I find less stress, less suffering, and the peace of flowing with what is. In this new episode #224 – Why Resentment Builds, I'm diving into one of those sneaky emotions that can quietly shape your mission and your life: resentment. We've all felt it—whether it's with a companion, a roommate, a family member, or even in marriage. Resentment often builds when we expect someone else to meet our needs instead of learning how to meet them ourselves. I'll share stories from my own life, experiences from missionaries in the field, and tools you can start using right away to shift from emotional childhood into emotional maturity. Together, we'll explore what resentment really is, why it keeps us stuck, and how to fill our own “gas tank” with validation, appreciation, and love—without waiting around for someone else to do it for us. If you're preparing, serving, or adjusting to life after your mission (or supporting someone who is), this episode will give you practical strategies to stop outsourcing your emotions, take ownership of your feelings, and create the confidence and freedom you're looking for. As always, if you found this episode helpful, I want to invite you to subscribe if you aren't already, share this episode with your friends and missionaries you know, and write a review. What if failure wasn't the end... but the beginning of your breakthrough? In this powerful 15-minute intervention, Tony Robbins works with Anna, a young Inner Circle member, on how to deal with failure and the feeling of “losing time,” while keeping her mind fresh and positive. Tony shares the truth that success isn't about everything working out — it's about learning from setbacks and using failure as fuel. Every disappointment becomes feedback, every obstacle just a speed bump on the road to lasting success. Tony introduces his RPM system — Results, Purpose, and a Massive Action Plan — to give Anna a clear, practical framework for moving forward. He also shares a moving story from his friend Peter Guber's childhood, illustrating that persistence, not perfection, creates true achievement. The ultimate lesson: if you turn failure into learning, failure doesn't exist.  Please enjoy!

Why Love Feels Addictive: Enneagram Insights with Dr. Lisa Marie Bobby

What if the ways we keep getting stuck in relationships aren't just bad habits, but the natural outworking of how we're wired to bond—and to protect ourselves from pain? In this episode of Typology, I sit down with psychologist and couples counselor Dr. Lisa Marie Bobby (a freshly discovered Seven with an Eight wing) to talk about the intersection of attachment, addiction to love, and the Enneagram. We explore why love itself can feel addictive, how that longing for connection sometimes binds us to the wrong person or pattern, and why recovery communities often work—they help us reattach to what's good, true, and life-giving. Along the way we dig into common Enneagram pairings, the myth of perfect compatibility, and the real gift of learning to honor differences, see blind spots, and practice repair. If you've ever wondered why you tend to chase, withdraw, fix, or move on too quickly—and how to love with more courage and steadiness—you'll find this conversation both practical and deeply hopeful.   ABOUT DR. LISA MARIE BOBBY Dr. Lisa Marie Bobby is a licensed marriage and family therapist, psychologist, board certified coach and author of Exaholics: Breaking Your Addiction to an Ex Love.  She is the founder of Growing Self Counseling and Coaching, an internationally recognized practice focused on love, happiness, and success.
