In this episode of Selective Ignorance, Mandii B is joined by super producer A-King, journalist Jayson Rodriguez, and returning guest Ray Daniels for a thought-provoking exploration of pop culture, accountability, and the current state of society. The conversation kicks off with an introduction and book promotion [00:00], before moving into a sharp dissection of today’s biggest pop culture headlines [00:55]. From there, the hosts dive into the art of public apologies and accountability [02:44], reflecting on how controversial perspectives on relationships continue to shape both personal dynamics and public perception [05:14]. This leads into a larger discussion on the role of social media and how it amplifies — and sometimes distorts — public discourse [08:59]. The episode then shifts into rap culture, beginning with an honest breakdown of hip hop and street culture’s current state [13:48], followed by an in-depth look at Young Thug’s leaked jail calls and what they reveal about celebrity, loyalty, and consequences [18:44]. Relationship dynamics return to the forefront through the lens of Mariah the Scientist’s public narrative [24:32], before the group pauses for reflections and conclusions on how these conversations connect back to accountability and cultural responsibility [29:52]. As the dialogue expands, they explore the ecosystem of confidence and leadership and how it influences both individuals and communities [33:07]. The conversation also examines the evolution of language and shifting social norms [36:09], before celebrating athletic achievements like Carmelo Anthony’s Hall of Fame speech as part of a broader narrative about legacy and inspiration [37:33]. In its final stretch, the episode tackles the complexity of relationships and public perception [40:44], the impact of political narratives and violence — including the controversial killing of Charlie Kirk [45:05] — and ends with a powerful reflection on empathy, accountability, and the real-world consequences of opinions in today’s hyperconnected society [50:35]. “No Holes Barred: A Dual Manifesto Of Sexual Exploration And Power” w/ Tempest X!Sale Link Follow the host on Social MediaMandii B Instagram/X @fullcourtpumps Follow the guest on Social Media@raydaniels Follow the show on Social MediaInstagram @selectiveignorancepodTiktok @selective.ignoranceX/Twitter @selectiveig_pod See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Have you ever felt like your resilience is being pushed to its limits, especially in the chaotic and complex world we live in today? Dr. Alexandra sits down with organizational psychologist, researcher, and New York Times best-selling author Dr. Tasha Eurich to delve into the insights from her new book, Shatterproof: How to Thrive in a World of Constant Chaos (and Why Resilience Alone Isn't Enough). In this conversation, they discuss the myths of resilience, as well as what a “resilience ceiling” is and how to identify when we've hit it. Most importantly, they talk about how to understand the limits of resilience so that we don't, as Dr. Tasha would call it, “grit gaslight” ourselves when our usual coping strategies don't work the way they used to.You'll come away from this episode with:A clearer understanding of the limitations of resilience and how to identify when you've reached your 'resilience ceiling'.A renewed perspective on the importance of acknowledging struggles as part of personal growth and healing (stoicism isn't the answer here!).Practical strategies and tools to enhance your self-awareness and well-being, such as Dr. Tasha's self-assessment for determining how much of our self-definition is about our work and ambition, and her 2-2-2 tool for managing overwhelm.Insights into the essential emotional needs that foster deeper connections in your relationships.Resources worth mentioning from the episode:The Resilience Ceiling Quizhttps://resilience-quiz.com/Shatterproof: How to Thrive in a World of Constant Chaos (And Why Resilience Alone Isn't Enough) by Tasha Eurichhttps://bookshop.org/p/books/shatterproof-how-to-thrive-in-a-world-of-constant-chaos-and-why-resilience-alone-isn-t-enough-tasha-eurich/9f0e6a8876113ed0Managing Back to School Stress on MasterClass: http://masterclass.com/backtoschoolCouple Therapy Certification Course from PESI: http://pesi.com/dralexandraContinue the conversation with Dr. Alexandra Solomon:Ask a question! It's easy to think that some people are empathetic while others are not. And it's true that empathy comes more instinctively to some than others. But did you know that Jesus created your brain for empathy? This means that all of us naturally long to share the experience of being seen and known by God and each other.Join us for this episode of Soul Talks as Bill and Kristi discuss the gift of mirror neurons — brain cells that help us "feel with" those around us. You'll learn how to partner with Jesus to reflect the thoughts and feelings of others back to them by asking curious questions, attuning to their emotions, and being a warm presence.Resources for this Episode:Deeply Loved: Receiving and Reflecting God's Great Empathy for YouAttend a Soul Shepherding RetreatMeet with a Soul Shepherding Spiritual DirectorDonate to Support Soul Shepherding and Soul Talks

You were made to live deeply loved—yes, even in the middle of emotional pain, worry, or conflict. But too often, when we’re hurting, we hide. We pull away from God and others, settling for shallow connections and carrying our burdens alone. What’s missing? Empathy. This week on The Love Offering Podcast, I’m joined by Drs. Bill and Kristi Gaultiere, co-founders of Soul Shepherding and authors of Deeply Loved: Receiving and Reflecting God's Great Empathy for You. In this powerful conversation, we discuss: *How to trade self-judgment for God’s empathy and grace *How empathy heals emotional wounds and helps us overcome distress *The Four A’s of Empathy—and how to practice them with yourself and others *How Jesus models empathy and invites you to experience His understanding and care Empathy is not coddling. It’s not rescuing. True empathy respects God’s truth, empowers personal responsibility, and brings deep soul healing. I pray this conversation helps you feel deeply loved by God—and gives you the courage to offer that same love and empathy to others. Read the Show Notes: Writing - Rachael K. Leading with grit is more than a leadership mantra; it's the real-life story of how Kyle Ewing turned stacks of unsold paper in his basement into TerraSlate, a multi-million-dollar company whose waterproof, rip-proof products are now used by the U.S. military, biotech firms, restaurants, and even the NFL. His journey is proof that persistence, creativity, and accountability can transform even the “boring” into something extraordinary. In our conversation on this week's episode of Reflect Forward, Kyle shares how grit became his core value, the engine that carried him from stacks of unsold paper in his basement to scaling a thriving company. We talk about what it really takes to sell a product nobody thinks they need, why accountability creates stronger teams, and how leaders can flip the pyramid to serve their people and customers better. If you've ever wondered how to lead through challenges, embrace mistakes, and build a culture rooted in ownership, this episode will inspire you to see grit not as a buzzword, but as a daily leadership practice. What You'll Learn in This Episode • The origin story of TerraSlate: from wrinkled passports to waterproof menus and military manuals • How to pivot when your first idea flops and find true product-market fit • Why consistency and persistence are the secret weapons in sales and entrepreneurship • The power of psychological safety and accountability in building strong teams • How leaders scale by delegating authority and removing roadblocks Key Takeaways 1. Grit is the ultimate differentiator. Success comes from persistence, iteration, and showing up consistently, even when no one believes in your idea. 2. Accountability builds culture. The best employees own their mistakes and create systems to prevent them in the future. 3. Leaders must flip the pyramid. Your job is to remove roadblocks so your team can shine and serve customers. 4. Selling is serving. Relationships and trust matter more than hard closes; people buy from people they like. 5. Hire A-players early. Pay for top talent and let go of mediocrity quickly to unlock growth. Mic Drop Moments • “Leading with grit means owning mistakes and turning them into momentum.” • “I work for my employees; they work for the customer.” • “You're 2,000 cold calls away from success—consistency wins.” • “The buck always stops with the leader. Own it, fix it, move forward.” About Kyle Ewing Kyle Ewing is the founder and CEO of TerraSlate, makers of waterproof, rip-proof paper for mission-critical environments and everyday durability. What if the healthiest thing for your relationship… was your own front door? Living Apart Together (LAT) is a growing trend where committed couples choose to maintain separate households while staying emotionally and romantically connected. It flies in the face of the cultural script that says love means living under one roof, sharing a fridge, and arguing about thermostat settings. But LAT isn't about avoiding intimacy or commitment. It's about redefining what commitment looks like. In this episode, we're digging into the psychology, the science, and the very real benefits of LAT relationships and how to tell if this unconventional setup might be right for you.____________________________ Full blog and show notes: https://abbymedcalf.com/living-apart-together-relationships Take the Quiz and Get the Scripts: Is LAT Right for You?” Self-Assessment Quiz + Conversation Starter Scripts: https://abbymedcalf.com/lat-quiz Join my online community, One Love Collective, on Substack: https://abbymedcalf.com/substack. Most people believe that calming the nervous system is the key to healing. Meditation, breathwork, relaxation exercises—they all sound like the perfect formula and let's be honest, they can be beneficial in some ways. But here's the surprising truth: simply relaxing your nervous system could actually backfire and keep you stuck in pain, fear, or illness. In this episode, Brandy Gillmore breaks down the hidden risks of focusing only on nervous system regulation and why true healing requires more. You'll discover: Why nervous system relaxation alone doesn't create lasting self-healing. How constant calming can actually suppress fear and emotions instead of releasing them. The essential role of courage, empowerment, and confidence in mind-body healing. A new way to rewire your mind for real transformation, joy, and health. If you've been working on your nervous system but still feel stuck—or you're searching for a deeper way to heal your body and mind—this episode will show you what's missing and how to finally move forward. IMPORTANT NOTE: We understand that some may believe mind-body healing is impossible. Therefore, if you would like to see images of individuals using their minds to relieve pain, you can check out this medical journal. It includes images from some of Brandy's case studies. If you want to learn how to use your mind to heal yourself, you can check out the training on Brandy's website. Welcome to The Times of Israel's Daily Briefing, your 20-minute audio update on what's happening in Israel, the Middle East and the Jewish world. Diplomatic correspondent Lazar Berman joins host Amanda Borschel-Dan for today's episode. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio is in Israel and at recording time has just finished his meeting in Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Jerusalem office. On Friday, Trump and special envoy Steve Witkoff had dinner with the Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani in New York, after al-Thani held a four-hour-long meeting with Vice President JD Vance and Rubio at the White House. We learn what Rubio has so far said during his meetings in Israel about Israel's strike on Hamas leaders in US-ally Qatar last week. We also speak about the stated agenda for Rubio's visit to participate in the opening of the Pilgrims' Path excavated tunnel that leads from east Jerusalem's City of David to the Temple Mount plaza. Qatar is still fuming over last week's attack on its soil. Qatar’s prime minister accused Israel of “state terrorism,” and said its attack in Doha last week targeting Hamas’s leaders was “an attack on the principle of mediation itself,” but nevertheless vowed to continue efforts to reach a ceasefire. Berman explains why the country will continue to serve as a mediator, even as it may attempt to stir trouble for Israel in other realms. Israel is building two new aid distribution sites, which, according to the military, will be handed over to the US- and Israeli-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation in the coming days. The IDF invited journalists to visit the sites on Wednesday before they become operational. Berman was there and reports back on what he saw, and how the war may look moving forward. Check out The Times of Israel's ongoing liveblog for more updates. Want less stress in love and more connection? Start by knowing your attachment style! In this snippet from Episode 201, Kelly sits down with relationship expert and best-selling author, Thais Gibson, to unpack attachment theory and how understanding your own style and the style of the people you care about can make relationships calmer and closer. Thais explains the four main attachment styles (secure, anxious, avoidant, dismissive avoidant and fearful avoidant) and shows how early formed patterns can linger as unconscious “relational clutter” that shapes how we ask for needs and respond to closeness. You will be encouraged to think about your own attachment style and you will learn how knowing your style can help you bring calm during moments of conflict. Plus, Thais and Kelly discuss a real conflict situation between two opposing styles to show how, by recognizing each person's needs, the situation can be alleviated and turned into connection. Finding a job in today's economy can feel overwhelming, but you don't have to face it alone. With interest rates remaining high and the job market slowing, this is a strategic moment to refresh your job search. By combining diligence, adaptability, and prayerful preparation, you can approach this season with confidence rooted in God's wisdom.Proverbs 27:12 reminds us: “The prudent sees danger and hides himself, but the simple go on and suffer for it.” Preparation matters—not just in life but in your job search. With the right approach, you can steward your time, skills, and relationships wisely while trusting God to guide your steps.A great place to start is your resume. Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) filter applications before a human ever reviews them, so tailoring your resume to each job description is essential. Use specific keywords, highlight measurable results, and connect your experience directly to the role. Think of it as stewardship—presenting your God-given abilities thoughtfully and effectively.Building Relationships That Open DoorsEven in a digital age, networking is still king. Studies show up to 85% of jobs are filled through referrals, and many roles are never posted publicly. Reconnect with colleagues, reach out to mentors, and don't overlook your church community. Genuine, relational conversations—built on curiosity rather than transaction—often lead to opportunities you couldn't find otherwise.Employers are also seeking adaptable learners. Developing skills in areas like AI, digital communication, or project management shows you're willing to grow. Affordable platforms like Coursera, edX, and Google Career Certificates make it easy to build new skills that employers value.Standing Out in a Digital WorldYour online presence is often the first impression an employer has. More than 70% of hiring managers review social media profiles, and nearly half say what they find influences their decision. Clean up questionable content, complete your LinkedIn profile, and stay active with thoughtful updates. Treat it as your digital business card—when you remain visible, opportunities are more likely to find you.Interviews have also shifted online. Prepare your space, dress professionally, and look into the camera to build connection. Small details—like lighting, posture, and a thank-you note afterward—leave a lasting impact.Trusting God in the ProcessA slowing job market can stir up fear, but Philippians 4:6–7 offers comfort: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”Preparation and diligence matter, but so do prayer and trust. God orders your steps. Every interview, every connection, and every opportunity is part of His greater story for your life. Search faithfully, not fearfully, knowing He is your ultimate provider. On Today's Program, Rob Answers Listener Questions:What is the statute of limitations for a collection agency to pursue a debt I still owe?I'm thinking about applying for Social Security Disability because of a physical condition from my recent job. What are the advantages and disadvantages of doing that?I still owe $31,000 on my mortgage, but I've been paying an extra $2,000 each month. A friend told me I shouldn't rush to pay it off. What's your advice?I'm 70 years old and live in a busy part of Chicago. Due to my age and zip code, I'm being charged very high rates by insurance companies. God created humans with a spirit, soul, and body. And in order for each aspect of our being to function in harmony, our relationships should also be in harmony. From the beginning, God walked with Adam and Eve in the garden, talking with them and nurturing a personal relationship with them. In fact, throughout the scriptures, God built foundational relationships, whether it was with the reluctant leader Moses or Hannah, the woman who wanted to be a mother more than anything. Ephesians 4:2–3 says, “Be completely humble and gentle. Be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the spirit of unity through the bond of peace.” Right relationships are foundational to life. The Bible is clear that if one of ours is suffering, letting it drift is not an option. Make living in harmony with other people a top priority every day.Let's pray. Lord, you gave everything for us, created us to have fellowship, to experience your love, and to love you in return. Help us to always be mindful that life is short, but relationships can last for eternity. In Jesus' name, amen. Change your shirt, and you can change the world! Ever find yourself keeping the peace in your relationship—only to realize you're actually at war with yourself? For years, I stayed quiet. I carried the weight of invisible contracts I never signed, silenced my needs, and believed it was just “easier” not to rock the boat. But silence wasn't peace—it was resentment, exhaustion, and self-abandonment. This episode is for the woman who's ready to stop settling, stop silencing herself, and finally create the relationship she desires. Inside, we'll talk about: ✔️ Why “keeping the peace” creates inner chaos that erodes your relationship ✔️ How childhood patterns + invisible contracts shape your marriage roles today ✔️ The nervous system's role in why boundaries feel so terrifying at first ✔️ The surprising shifts that happen when you start voicing your needs unapologetically ✔️ Why self-worth—not self-sacrifice—is the foundation of true partnership If you've ever wondered whether you're “asking too much”… this is your reminder: you're worthy of it all. ✨ Come join me inside my upcoming group coaching program (launching this October!) where we'll dive deeper into motherhood, boundaries, relationships, and becoming the woman who has it all.

If you want respect, desire, and loyalty that lasts, you must understand the hidden behaviors that quietly destroy connection. In this video we expose why so many men fail in love and what you can do differently to build strength, confidence, and a relationship she truly values.
