Week 2 Rerun, January Jolt The Detroit Lions Podcast opened with a shot of adrenaline from September. The NFL Network replayed the Week 2 demolition of the Chicago Bears. Detroit 52, Chicago 21. Jared Goff threw for 334 yards and five touchdowns with zero interceptions. Jahmyr Gibbs ripped 94 yards on the ground. David Montgomery added 57. Jameson Williams cleared 100 receiving yards and turned short catches into three touchdowns under 15 yards. The defense took the ball away twice and rang up four sacks. Tyson Bagent mopped up in garbage time. Jack Campbell flashed. Aidan Hutchinson collected a pair. Brian Branch made plays. It felt like a statement. After a flat Week 1 in Green Bay, that win reset the temperature on the season. For a minute, Detroit sat atop NFL power polls and looked like the class of the NFC. That broadcast stung a little. It reminded everyone what this roster looked like at full strength and how quickly it turned. Promise met attrition. Confidence met slippage on both sides of the ball. The Week 2 tape is still proof of concept. It is also a measuring stick for what has been lost. From Firepower to Triage The current injury sheet is brutal. Alex Anzalone is out with a concussion after a failed midweek push. Penei Sewell is out. Alim McNeill is out with an abdominal injury. Kerby Joseph is out. Brian Branch is out. Sam LaPorta is out. S C.J. Moore's replacement depth has thinned, and even “Harper” snaps matter now because the room is down three safeties. Avonte Maddox will play, but the secondary is patched together. Up front, the tackle plan is a guess. Giovanni Manu was not activated. Miles Frazier could be forced into a spot. Dan Skipper likely logs heavy work. Maybe “Yode” slides outside. Taylor Decker is fighting through it and has earned the benefit of the doubt. None of that stabilizes protection. It raises a real question about whether Goff should finish the season finale behind a compromised line. The idea of Kyle Allen getting meaningful snaps has merit. It is evaluation and preservation rolled into one. Season Finale Math The finale arrives tomorrow with little on the line for the Detroit Lions in the NFL standings. The Bears, the team Detroit roasted in September, have since won the division and are chasing the two seed. They get Green Bay next week. That development colors the mood. Detroit once ran away from Chicago. Now the roster is a shell of that September juggernaut. The calculus is simple. Health over hollow pride. Avoid new long-term injuries to Goff, Montgomery, Gibbs, Amon-Ra St. Brown, and anyone already managing pain. Every sprain and strain now steals offseason recovery time. There is value in a winning record. There is much more value in a healthy spring. Use the finale to protect core pieces, test depth, and get out clean. The Week 2 blowout still matters. It shows what the Detroit Lions can be when whole. The job now is to make sure the next chance to look like that arrives with the roster intact. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RvnuoB40it8 #detroitlions #lions #detroitlionspodcast #offensiveline #injuries #schedule #draft #quarterback #jaredgoff #taylordecker #offensivelineinjuries #offensivelinedepth #quarterbackplay Learn more about your ad choices. (00:00-27:02) – Query & Company opens on the first show of 2026 with Jake Query and producer Eddie Garrison discussing Indiana’s dominating win over the Alabama Crimson Tide in the Rose Bowl. Jake connects the history of our founding fathers to how Indiana has become the overwhelming favorite in the College Football Playoff. (27:02-37:48) – Jake and Eddie look at the other College Football Playoff Games that took place over the last two days. They briefly discuss how impressive Miami was on New Years Eve and then how Ole Miss was able to beat Georgia at their own game last night in the Sugar Bowl. (37:48-45:13) – The first hour of the show concludes with Jake Query and producer Eddie Garrison debating how many people are actually working today between traveling back from Pasadena and it being the day after celebrating the start of the new year. (45:13-1:09:36) – Hour number two with Jake Query and producer Eddie Garrison kicks off by replaying the open from the start of the show and they continue discussing another historic win for the Indiana Hoosiers. Jake gives a lot of credit to Pam Whitten and Scott Dolson for how they bought into Curt Cignetti’s pitch during the hiring process to give him all the right ingredients to turn Indiana into the top college football team in two years. (1:09:36-1:22:58) – Mike Niziolek from the Bloomington Herald Times makes an appearance on Query & Company to share some of his takeaways from IU’s dominating win over Alabama yesterday. He was shocked with how Indiana’s offensive line took that game over after being exposed on the first drive of the game. Jake asks Mike what is different from his perspective between Oregon and Indiana since their meeting earlier in the season and what the most enjoyable part of the entire Rose Bowl experience was. (1:22:58-1:31:09) – The second hour of the show concludes with Jake Query informing Eddie about what resume pad day is and asking him if he has any New Year’s resolutions. Eddie doesn’t want to reveal them, but Jake kept prying. (1:31:09-1:59:43) – Tony East from Circle City Spin, Locked On Pacers, and Forbes Sports joins the show to discuss all things Pacers after briefly talking about IU’s win yesterday with him being an IU alumnus. Jake asks Tony about what he has heard thus far about some of the top players in the upcoming NBA Draft, assesses if we know what kind of player Jarace Walker is yet, and comments on what Rick Carlisle said following Wednesday’s game about petty nonsense that the team is dealing with. (1:59:43-2:11:17) – James Boyd from The Athletic joins the show to round out today’s guest lineup to preview the regular season finale for the Colts against the Texans. Jake asks James if the Colts are going to give anyone more playing time on Sunday to see how they perform in an expanded role, assesses how likely it is that Chris Ballard, Shane Steichen, Anthony Richardson, DeForest Buckner, and Alec Pierce will be back next season. Finally, Jake asks James if the focus of the Irsay daughters is on the football operations or other behind the scenes stuff. (2:11:17-2:15:51) – Today’s show closes out with JMV joining Jake from Ralston’s Drafthouse off Mass Ave to preview his show and to poke fun at all the people who believe the SEC is the best of the best.Support the show: https://1075thefan.com/query-and-company/See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Ep. 967 - The number 1,000 carries a lot of significance, especially in the NFL. It's a number that helps define whether a season was a success or not among skill position players, like wide receivers. On Sunday, Michael Wilson needs 93 receiving yards to hit the 1,000-yard mark for the first time in his career. It would, as he said this week, be a “heck of an achievement” considering how the season started. Craig Grialou and Zach Gershman talk about Wilson's year, his recent run of success and then dive into the matchup against the L.A. Rams; it's the last opportunity for a lot of players to make one last impression. Plus, for one final time, Craig and Zach head into enemy territory. They speak with Stu Jackson, senior staff writer for therams.com.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Greg & John give their FINAL Stranger Things Reaction, Recap, Commentary, Analysis, Breakdown, & Spoiler Review! The OG's REACT to “Chapter Eight: The Rightside Up,” the series finale of Stranger Things — a sprawling, emotional conclusion to Netflix's sci-fi horror epic that pits the Hawkins crew against the full force of the Upside Down and the Abyss in a final attempt to stop Vecna's plan and save their world. In this feature-length finale (over two hours), the gang reunites for one last stand, confronting the supernatural rifts unleashed across Hawkins as they attempt to close the Abyss and halt the interdimensional collapse that has threatened reality itself. Central to the showdown is Eleven (**Millie Bobby Brown – Enola Holmes, Godzilla: King of the Monsters`) as she faces Vecna and the monstrous forces of the Upside Down with help from Kali / Eight (Linnea Berthelsen – The Witcher) and her friends. Mike Wheeler (Finn Wolfhard – IT, Ghostbusters: Afterlife), Dustin Henderson (**Gaten Matarazzo – Prank Encounters, Dear Evan Hansen”), Lucas Sinclair (**Caleb McLaughlin – Concrete Cowboy), and Will Byers (Noah Schnapp – Hubie Halloween) provide emotional and tactical support, while Max Mayfield (**Sadie Sink – The Whale, Fear Street”) is at the heart of the finale's stakes after emerging from the Abyss earlier. Adult allies like Joyce Byers (**Winona Ryder – Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands”) and Jim Hopper (**David Harbour – Violent Night, Black Widow”) fight beside them, refusing to let Hawkins fall into darkness.
