Who better to cap off an incredible inaugural season of Marathon Minute Podcast than our family, Madison Ornstil. Madison has an unheralded story of chasing a dream and changing an industry that can be both a source of insight and inspiration. With a dream of being a connector between athletes and brands, Madison was initially denied a retail job at adidas after taking a leap of faith moving out to Portland with no job after graduating college . However, that was just the beginning of her story as she remained persistent, gained more experience, leveraged her relationships, and eventually got an internship in basketball footwear design. She quickly grew within the brand and moved into sports marketing where she worked closely with Derrick Rose, Kyle Lowry, Candace Parker, and was responsible for turning the women's basketball roster into one of most respected and marketable groups of players within all of sports. Madison recently accepted a role for talent representation and management giant Wasserman, moving on from a leadership role within adidas sports marketing after 10 years with the brand. She also recently launched a custom golf bag business with Kyle Lowry. Tune in to hear Madison talk about leading an adidas footwear collab with Damian Lillard and Oakland brand Oaklandish, her mindset in creating equity in women's sports, some fun family dynamics, and much more. To celebrate Season 1 of Marathon Minute, our first merchandise the "Logos Tee" is now available in limited quanity at marathonminute.store!
Da Binge Bois are joining the Squid Game this week, as we review the highly hyped and much talked about Korean Netflix series. But before we get into Squidward's Game, we must do our classic segment, Whatcha Been Watchin', where Enrique discusses the finale of the Starz series Heels and talks about the possible storylines in season 2, and Eli talks about having rewatched the sixth, seventh and eighth Harry Potter movies, and then Da Bois spiral into a talk about which of the movies they prefer, and how they dislike the books themselves. After that, Da Bois talk about the entire plotline of the first season of Squid Game and what things they picked up on as the series continued. Da Bois talk about how the show actually has a great theme to it that a lot of people are not noticing because they care more about the actual game scenes, they all agree on their collective hat for Sang Woo and how is the biggest of snakes in media, and how #067 was their favorite and really only likeable main character the show had to offer. After weeks of pushing it off, finally Da Bois will be talking about Rain Man and new edition of the Trailer Trash segment. As always thanks for watching, hit us up on social media for a shoutout! Instagram: @DaBingeBois Twitter: @BingeBois Shoutout BNH for Chill Clap that opens the show every week!

Season Finale. For three years now I've been nailing these little red crosses into the ground. I know it doesn't mean very much, but what the hell else am I supposed to do? Forget? Walk away with the same indifference I've resented in others? I know they don't fix anything; I know they don't make anything right. Maybe most people don't even know what they are. In fact, I'm sure they don't.I could have marked the actual burial plots – but with what? I can't put a name on them. I can't fit my outrage on a little stone marker (what's the character limit on those anyway?) Besides, putting a memorial in some remote corner of some equally remote cemetery, overtop of a forgotten body, is only going to result in a forgotten memorial.Visit us online at itsfoulplay.comCheck out or other podcasts at itsarclightmedia.comEnjoy the podcast and want to support us? Statistics show it takes a domestic violence victim an average of 7 attempts to leave before they actually do. While I didn't ask previous guests how many attempts it took before they actually left, you've heard from their stories that it wasn't after the first incident. This series has highlighted SO many things including the fact that abuse isn't just a black eye. It's also narcissistic behavior, the need to control or limit, the degrading of your self-esteem, misogyny, threats, the imposition of fear, interrelationship rape and the list goes on. Bottom line, if it doesn't feel right, it probably isn't because love shouldn't hurt even when it doesn't work. I've received so much amazing feedback, so much support to pass along to those who've shared, so much love...and I'm grateful to be a vessel. Ironically we're closing out the series during DV Awareness month. For the season finale I invited my new friend to the mic, Assistant District Attorney, Erika Johnson, a prosecutor with the Durham DA's Office Special Victims Unit. Erika, a fellow Eagle, earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 2014 and Juris Doctor in 2017 from NCCU. She is a wife, mom of 2.5 (there's one in the oven) and an advocate for victims of Domestic Violence. She offers a legal perspective to victim rights, expectations and resources. Erika has seen and done alot and shares some of those experiences with us. Tune in.. The Durham Crisis Response Center helpline is available 24/7 at 919–403–6562 (English) or 919–519–3735 (Español). The service is free and confidential. If you need assistance with a domestic violence protective order, call the Family Justice Center at 919–450–8970. If you are an abuser, help is also available at Pathways to Change. Erika is also helping with a presentation tomorrow (October 7th) at the Durham Crisis Response Center (DCRC).

Mark & Al open with their thoughts on the emotional moment in the top of the 8th when Ryan Zimmerman was ceremoniously removed from the game to thunderous applause. It certainly felt like his final game, will it end up being so?(10:47) Juan Soto struggled on Sunday and struck out three times. Given that nobody else ran away with it, does he still have a chance to win the NL Cy Young?(19:48) Alex Avila had a memorable final game of his career. He connected on a 2 run double and also was given a standing ovation as he exited the field for the final time.(25:16) Joan Adon wowed in his Major League debut. Adon struck out 9 members of the Red Sox in just under 6 IP. The bulk of Adon's season was spent in High-A Wilmington, and yet he played a factor in a game with direct postseason implications.(33:43) Mike Rizzo spoke to the media before the game and indicated he is not planning on tanking next season. Do we have an idea of how long the Free Agency shopping list will be? Has his philosophy on pitching changed? Do we have an updated timeline on the rebuild?
