Tips, Tricks, Techniques and even news, if you're interested in Lotus Notes and Domino then this is the screencast for you! Most shows run about 9 minutes and give a tip to either a Developer, Administrator or End User.
This is a different show today. I'm going to be speaking at MWLug at the end of August. In this show I'm going to do a little demo of what I intended to present at MWLug. I'm not going to tell you HOW to do it yet, you'll need to come to see that. Or wait for it to hit a future NotesIn9. In addition to the commercial, I've taken a small clip from my show 100 (which ran WAY too long). In this clip I give suggestions on how to get more involved in the XPages community and why you might want to. At the end I refute any excuses that you might have. Hope you like the show.
In this show John Jardin comes back on to expand on his part 1 episode. He'll demonstrate more XPages and Relational Data integration and show you how to make things a little more flexible. The first part can be found here.
In this show Tim Tripcony returns with the first of a two part series. This first part is about creating a custom control to edit fields on an XPage "in place". So no opening another page or dialog needed. Really nice UI feature! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L_Qo6PcnFfU
In this show , the 12th Extended Edition, Brian Moore comes on as a new contributor to introduce us to the iText project and how we can use it to create PDF's from XPages.
In this show I take a question from a viewer who asked how you could have a view on the right, click on a document and be able to edit it on the left. I'll demonstrate that by using a Repeat Control since I don't like View Controls that much. There's quite a bit in here for the beginner. I create a repeat control, bind to a foreign database, control rendering of the document section, use simple actions and SSJS and even show the world how bad I am with CSS. :-) The viewer also wanted to be able to create NEW documents, but I'll save that bit for a future show. Hope you like it.
NotesIn9 Week continues with this episode in which Graham Acres comes on as a guest to talk about how he got started using XPages. I want to thank Graham very much for taking the time to record this presentation for NotesIn9. Graham will talk about his journey into learning this new technology and then will show off a couple of interesting demo's and tips. When I first heard of this presentation, which I think he did for a Canadian user group, I thought that this might be really inspirational. Everyone who starts out learning XPages struggles with it. The first several weeks are the hardest. The way to get past that is to not get frustrated. Realize there is a roadmap to improving your skills and that you're not alone out there. There are now a lot of great resources out there for XPages information. Here's just a couple: XPages.Info XPagesWiki.com XPages Forum XPages Blog Designer Wiki XPagesCheatSheet.com XPages101.net XPages.TV OpenNTF.org TLCC.com Again, a big thanks to Graham for his presentation.
Did you know that openNTF is running an XPages Development Contest? 3 iPads have been sponsored by We4IT. Already many custom controls have been submitted for free use in any applications. In this show we take a look at one of these custom controls. Mark Hughes from hugesconnect.com comes on the show to discuss his custom control creation - a very powerful View Picker.
