A podcast covering Bad Idea Comic Books. Eniac, Tankers, Whalesville, Sleigh Bells, and more!
Passive Aggressive is actually two books. Some stores received the story "Passive" and others received the story "Aggressive", though the two versions have the same cover. Only the interior is different.I have some thoughts to share about this book. I have a big question: does the order we read these books color our views of these books? I read Passive first, and now I don't have any way to go back in time and read Aggressive first.Or do I?Also, in my previous episode, I had a called shot about Passive Aggressive, that it would be the key to the redemption program that the buttons have alluded to. I was partly correct, that there was something up with this book, and a big hidden secret. I have an updated Called Shot now, and it is worse. So, so, so much worse.Timecodes:01:15 - FunDunked08:00 - Two books, not one14:57 - Passive Aggressive22:24 - Magic Intervention24:03 - Aggressive Passive29:35 - The Magic Ends33:45 - WARNING36:06 - Updated Called ShotOne caveat: Overthinking Comics is not responsible for any action you may take as a result of listening to these crazy theories. Whalesville and Rocks and Minerals are both short stories that, while drastically different, focus on one theme: Understanding. That is a valuable commodity these days. Plus, I call my shot about the buttons and sticker, and where it is leading.First, I talk about Whalesville. Second, I talk about Rocks and Minerals. Third, I tie it all together. Fourth, I discuss the buttons and Final Five sticker, and Sixth, I call my shot about what it is leading to.
A short emergency podcast to discuss the shocking news of the day, and... wrestling?Today, Bad Idea posted that Bad Idea, as we know it, is coming to an end. What does this mean, and how do we interpret it? What does wrestling have to do with this anyway?
Sean discusses Eniac #2, and the connections he is finding throughout the story so far. There is more going on than we are aware of. We have seen glimpses of it in flashbacks, and pieces here and there in the history of Eniac. What is it leading to though? This podcast has ideas. We apply Attention Theory to this book to see what it can reveal about what is important, and what is simmering under the surface. We also look at several connections, with the plot, and thematically, throughout the book. Also, Eniac is hungry.
Tankers #1 is in our hands! Let's talk about the contents of this book, which pits modern day tanker soldiers against prehistoric dinosaurs.
