Our passion is to see people experience the life changing power of Christ. We are a recovery church focused on Jesus Christ. We ourselves have experienced the power of being set free from a life of bondage and slavery, through our addictions.
It all started in the garden of Eden when God gave us dominion over all things and the option of free choice. We should stop blaming God for our bad choices and start taking responsibility for all the global tragedy around every corner. STOP BLAMING GOD!
Phillip expands on the difference between calling and purpose. All of us ask the question why are we here, some of us are fortunate enough to find our calling, while others spend and entire lifetime looking and searching.
Pastor Dave teachers that we are in a race of endurance, its not a sprint, its a slow steady focused race of endurance. Hebrews 12:1 Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us
Phillip continues in fruits of the Spirit, this episode he expands on kindness, goodness and faithfulness as apposed to being poisoned by the fruits of this world
Pastor Dave explains; We as human beings work and strive for our future here on earth, but intact we should be working towards a future beyond this life time
Pastor Dave explains; Your Past can keep you from moving forward. We need to realise that our past is in the past. If you look at your past you will see that you are a victim of your own choices. Its time to start making the correct choices , and don’t let your past determine your future.
Phillip dives into Galatians 5 - The fruits of the spirit. He unpacks the importance of peace and long suffering. Peace is not the absence of strife, war or hard times. But rather peace is found in Christ. Through the trials we must be strong in Christ.
Pastor Dave Barber talks out of 1 Corinthians 9:24 "Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may win." We must learn to walk in victory. Victory is an act of defeating an enemy or an opponent in a battle. We will face many challenges on our walk of recovery, but we must learn to run our own race.
