Changing careers is no small feat. Follow the journey of ex-radio host Kyran Wheatley as he talks with experts, career changers and friends and family to explore his next move and inspire you to do the same.

Kyran Wheatley begins his journey towards making a career change by speaking candidly with psychologists Sabina Read and Michael Inglis who help him identify the fears and insecurities that have been holding him back from taking the next step in his career. In this episode Kyran also learns about the importance of embracing vulnerability, self-reflection and commitment to self-development.

As Kyran continues exploring an alternate route for his career, he checks in with psychologist Sabina Read to talk about the pros and cons of seeking the opinions of friends and family. A chat with his mum Wendy and best friend Maddie demystifies his often-debilitating thoughts around what others think.

Transferable skills. What are they? How do you get them? And how can you talk about them? Kyran doesn’t know how the skills he gained as a radio host could possibly translate into another industry, so he decides to consult an expert. Anastasia Liberatos, a talent acquisition manager for a financial services company highlights how widely his existing skills can be applied, even in the finance industry.

In the fourth and final episode of SEEK ALT ROUTE, Kyran addresses the all-important topic of money, has an emotional exchange with a multi-time career changer and talks to his partner, comedian Rhys Nicholson about his personal views on Kyran’s approach to a new career.
