Viagra's Cancer Signal, TV's Toll on Your Brain, Heat and Accelerated Aging, and a New Way to Flush Your Brain Explained Viagra's Active Ingredient May Block Cancer From Spreading A study published in Cancer Research from the Weizmann Institute of Science, in collaboration with Clalit and the U.S. National Cancer Institute, found that sildenafil, the active ingredient in Viagra, may interfere with cancer cells' ability to metastasize by disrupting how they regulate cholesterol, a resource tumors need to detach and invade new tissue. The team combined mouse models and human cell cultures with more than twenty years of medical records covering roughly five million people, and found better survival outcomes among about forty thousand cancer patients who had taken sildenafil before diagnosis. Researchers also flagged a possible combination effect with statins. Host Dave Asprey breaks down why this cheap, off-patent drug class deserves more attention than it's getting, and where it fits alongside his own longevity protocol. Source: https://www.healthline.com/health-news/viagra-may-stop-cancer-from-spreading-study ~~ Heavy TV Watching In Midlife Tied To Alzheimer's-Related Brain Changes A nearly twenty-four-year study published in Alzheimer's & Dementia followed more than 1,700 adults, tracking TV habits in their early fifties and scanning their brains in their mid-seventies. Men who watched more TV showed greater white matter damage and smaller frontal and occipital lobes, while women showed no such association. Critically, people with desk jobs that kept them sedentary all day did not show the same brain changes, and the TV association held even after adjusting for exercise levels. Host Dave Asprey unpacks why passive screen time, not sitting itself, may be the real driver here. Sources: https://www.the-independent.com/life-style/tv-time-linked-alzheimers-study-b3023054.html https://alz-journals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/alz.71582 ~~ Ambient Heat Exposure Linked To Faster Biological Aging A Science Advances study of 3,686 older adults linked neighborhood-level heat index exposure to accelerated biological aging using DNA methylation clocks. Short-term heat exposure moved one clock significantly, while exposure sustained over a full year or six years moved all major clocks, with extreme-caution heat days tied to nearly a three-year jump in one aging measure and a five percent faster overall aging pace on another. Researchers point to inflammation and stress signaling as likely drivers. Host Dave Asprey explains why this is a fundamentally different kind of heat story than the sauna and cold-plunge conversation biohackers are used to. Source: https://www.science.org/doi/10.1126/sciadv.adr0616 ~~ Industrial Chicken Farming May Be Accelerating The Spread Of Drug-Resistant Bacteria A genomic analysis of nearly 2,800 bacterial samples from chickens and wild birds across thirty countries, published in PNAS and covered by The Guardian, found a roughly hundredfold increase in Campylobacter strain transitions between wild birds and farmed chickens since 1900. Global chicken populations have grown sevenfold since the 1960s to about 27 billion birds, and researchers identified genetic adaptations tied to antimicrobial resistance developing inside that population. Sixty to eighty percent of human Campylobacter infections trace back to raw chicken, with links to post-infectious IBS in some cases. Host Dave Asprey connects the dots between industrial farming density and the gut-health stakes for anyone who eats chicken. Sources: https://www.theguardian.com/food/2026/jul/27/industrial-chicken-farming-accelerating-spread-of-diarrhoea-bacteria-study-finds https://doi.org/10.1073/pnas.2609969123 ~~ VA Researchers Develop Breathing-Based "Brain Flush" For Parkinson's And Alzheimer's VA researchers led by Dr. Henry Lin found a way to trigger the brain's glymphatic clearance system, normally active during deep sleep, in people who are awake, using alternating puffs of five percent carbon dioxide and room air every thirty-five seconds. In a study of thirty Parkinson's patients and thirty-three healthy controls, a single thirty-minute session produced measurable increases in blood levels of beta-amyloid, alpha-synuclein, and other waste proteins associated with neurodegeneration. The VA's Technology Transfer Program is now developing a patent and prototype device. Host Dave Asprey explains why this gives breathwork protocols a real physiological mechanism instead of just a hunch. Source: https://www.research.va.gov/currents/0426-Exciting-new-treatment-being-developed-for-Parkinsons-Alzheimers.cfm ~~~ This episode is designed for biohackers, longevity enthusiasts, and high-performance listeners who want mechanism-level insights into an overlooked cancer drug repurposing story, the real difference between passive and active screen time, a new angle on heat as a biological stressor, the hidden gut-health cost of industrial poultry farming, and a breathing technique that may unlock your brain's own detox system. Host Dave Asprey connects clinical research, large-scale genomic data, and translational neuroscience into practical frameworks for improving longevity, gut health, and brain performance. The AI industry spent the week arguing with itself, which is honestly the healthiest thing it's done in years. One coalition led by Nvidia begged regulators not to slow down open AI models, while more than 1,100 AI workers signed another letter asking regulators to do exactly that. Anthropic warned about bioweapons, OpenAI admitted the four-hour workweek isn't happening after all, and Microsoft's Satya Nadella reminded everyone that building your entire business on someone else's AI is a fantastic way to outsource your own brain. In other words, the people selling the future still can't agree on what they're selling, except that you'd better buy it fast.Meanwhile, the AI bubble keeps demanding sacrifices. Patreon, BuzzFeed, and Uber all swung the layoff axe while insisting AI isn't replacing humans... it's just reorganizing them out of a paycheck. Nvidia is floating another three-quarters of a trillion dollars in infrastructure deals that have people muttering "AI subprime mortgage crisis," China has discovered there's money in renting your face to AI companies, and the U.S. is carving data centers out of pollution rules because apparently acid rain is a small price to pay for chatbot dominance. Add in ChatGPT suddenly refusing to imitate famous authors, researchers discovering AI coding assistants are happily installing malware if you ask nicely, and Meta launching an ad campaign about the wonders of AI that somehow forgets to mention what any of those wonders actually are.Elsewhere in Tech Hell™, eBay finally paid the price for its executives' unhinged harassment campaign involving pig masks and live insects, Elon is shopping The Boring Company while promising money won't matter in the AI utopia of 2036, and a traveler is headed to court after allegedly triggering GrapheneOS's "duress PIN" during a border search. We also hit Media Candy with Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, Silo, Blade Runner 2099 and Neuromancer, celebrate Dave Bittner's birthday, marvel at Jason's ever-growing Boneyard of dead websites, and somehow end up discussing thermal cameras, piano repair, and old-man bladder supplements.

Pearls HFpEF is a constellation of symptoms often with different underlying pathophenotypes; cardiometabolic type is rising in incidence. Diagnosis is predominantly based on the clinical scenario along with supporting evidence from imaging modalities such as echocardiogram, cardiac MRI, and right heart catheterization. Cardiometabolic HFpEF is a complex syndrome characterized by dysregulated lipid metabolism, systemic inflammation, and hemodynamic abnormalities, all of which contribute to exercise intolerance and frailty. Lifestyle interventions, comorbidities management, and HFpEF therapeutics go hand in hand for comprehensive HFpEF care and offer opportunities for multispecialty collaboration to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Dr. Tatem has built his practice and his YouTube following around pushing medicine beyond what the traditional medical establishment allows, with a focus on male girth enhancement, performance enhancement, peptides, and PEDs. They break down the real science behind penis enhancement, including why length surgery still does not exist, how hyaluronic acid injections safely increase girth, and why silicone and PMMA fillers have left men permanently disfigured. Dave and Dr. Tatem also get into cutting-edge testosterone dosing strategies, the peptides driving the biggest gains in human performance and longevity, including BPC-157, TB-500, SS-31, and MOTS-c, and why PT-141 has become the most talked-about peptide for libido and sexual health. You'll Learn: Why hyaluronic acid injections have become the safest, most reproducible method for girth enhancement The truth about penis enlargement surgery, and why length enhancement still has no reliable surgical fix How daily microdosed testosterone compares to traditional weekly TRT protocols Why PT-141 and melanotan II are being used for libido, nitric oxide release, and even prostate health How BPC-157, TB-500, SS-31, and MOTS-c are changing recovery, mitochondria function, and metabolism The dangerous enhancement trends to avoid, including silicone implants and unregulated fillers Why the fight over peptide access at the FDA could determine the future of functional medicine and supplements in America Thank you to our sponsors! - Just Thrive | Get a free 90-day supply of Digestive Bitters (a $90 value) when you start a 90-day Just Thrive Probiotic subscription at https://get.justthrivehealth.com/pages/asprey - KILLSwitch | If you're ready for the best sleep of your life, order now at https://www.switchsupplements.com/and use code DAVE for 20% off - PredictiveMind™ | Get your Brain Pattern Mapping report at predictivemind.io/dave and use code DAVE for 10% off. - ALP | Head to http://alppouch.com/ and use code DAVE for 20% off your first order. In this refreshingly honest episode, Dr. Scott Watier and Tommy Welling tackle one of the most common frustrations in the fasting community — when fasting stops producing results — and make the case that the problem is rarely fasting itself, but the context surrounding it. They walk through three major blockers that quietly undermine progress: a fasting schedule that doesn't match your current lifestyle or physiology, food choices inside the nutrition window that are working against the fast, and the tendency to push harder with longer fasts instead of adjusting smarter with smaller targeted changes. The hosts share a candid story about delivering 100 customized fasting plans early in the podcast's history, only to discover that the plan itself was never the missing piece — consistency within real life always wins. They also highlight how intentional morning hydration with quality mineral salts acts as a universal lever that supports all three blockers at once, helping to calm cravings, stabilize energy, and make the next fast feel easier. This week's challenge is simple: identify which of the three blockers resonates most, pick one small adjustment — whether that's shifting the eating window earlier, cleaning up the nutrition opportunity, or protecting sleep — and give it a week to feel the difference. You've probably tried everything to sleep better. Magnesium. Melatonin. Blackout curtains. Maybe even expensive sleep gadgets. But what if the real reason your sleep feels broken has nothing to do with any of those things? In this video, Dave Asprey explains a hidden biological process that controls whether your body stays in stress mode at night… or finally switches into deep recovery mode. He breaks down why so many people wake up exhausted, why cortisol stays elevated while you sleep, and why your body may never fully enter repair mode even if you're technically asleep. You'll learn how one overlooked habit affects your brain, metabolism, recovery, heart rate, and overnight repair systems, plus the surprising research that showed dramatic changes in sleep quality from a single adjustment. Once you understand this mechanism, you'll never look at sleep the same way again.Try Danger Creatine: https://dangercoffee.com/products/danger-creatineTry TrueDark glasses: https://truedark.comTry Danger Coffee: https://dangercoffee.com/discount/davetubeTry Suppgrade Labs: https://shopsuppgradelabs.com/I have spent twenty years and millions of dollars testing every legal focus drug I could get my hands on. It's an energy production problem inside your brain. Artificial Sweeteners & Cognitive Decline, Myosteatosis on Coronary CT, Merck's Oral PCSK9 Inhibitor, Cyclospora Outbreak, Gut-Brain Synchronization, and the Banana Smoothie Mistake Explained Artificial Sweeteners Linked To 62% Faster Cognitive Decline In Landmark Brazilian Study A study tracking more than 12,700 adults (average age 52) over eight years found that people consuming the most artificial and low-calorie sweeteners, roughly 191 mg a day, about what's in a single can of diet soda, showed cognitive decline 62% faster than the lowest-intake group, equivalent to 1.6 extra years of brain aging, with memory hit hardest. Six of the seven sweeteners tested, including aspartame, saccharin, and acesulfame K, were linked to faster decline; tagatose was the lone exception. Researchers point to gut-microbiome disruption, altered glucose and insulin signaling, and possible direct neuronal effects as plausible mechanisms. Host Dave Asprey breaks down why a dose this small was enough to move the curve, why tagatose deserves more scrutiny before being called "safe," and where diet products' short-term weight-loss marketing conveniently ignores the long-term cost to your brain. Source: https://www.inc.com/kevin-haynes/study-links-cognitive-decline-to-surprisingly-small-daily-amount-of-artificial-sweeteners/91376522 ~~ AI Analysis Of 1,722 Heart Scans Finds Muscle Quality Predicts Heart Attacks Independent Of Calcium Score Using data from the SCOT-HEART trial, a University of Edinburgh team ran an AI model against ten years of coronary CT angiogram scans, measuring skeletal muscle attenuation, a marker of myosteatosis, or fat infiltration into muscle tissue. Every 10-point increase in muscle density corresponded to a 31% lower heart attack risk and 39% lower all-cause mortality over the following decade, and critically, this held independent of coronary calcium score, the current gold-standard risk marker. The same low-density-muscle patients also showed higher lung attenuation, lower liver attenuation, and more torso fat volume, a pattern consistent with systemic insulin resistance rather than a muscle-specific issue. Host Dave Asprey unpacks why calcium score isn't capturing the full risk picture, why myosteatosis is really a readout of whole-body insulin sensitivity, and what he'd add to a routine workup on top of a calcium score. Source: https://www.theguardian.com/science/2026/jun/30/strong-chest-back-less-likely-heart-attack-analysis ~~ FDA Approves First Oral PCSK9 Inhibitor, Cutting LDL By Up To 60% Without Injections Merck's enlicitide (brand name Lipfendra) is now FDA-approved as the first once-daily oral PCSK9 inhibitor, lowering LDL cholesterol by up to 60% in a phase 3 trial of 2,912 patients, routinely bringing levels down to 50-60 mg/dL. It works by blocking PCSK9, a liver protein that tags LDL receptors for destruction, the same target as injectable drugs like Repatha and Praluent, which have shown roughly 20% reductions in heart attacks and strokes in high-risk patients. Lipfendra is priced at $315 for a 30-day supply, with no excess side effects reported versus placebo over six months, though long-term outcome data is still pending. Host Dave Asprey explains why crushing total LDL without checking ApoB, LDL particle number, or oxidized LDL is optimizing the wrong variable, and what he'd want on his labs before considering a drug like this. Sources: https://www.nytimes.com/2026/07/16/science/the-fda-approves-a-new-pill-to-slash-cholesterol-levels.html https://www.cnbc.com/2026/07/16/mercks-cholesterol-pill-gets-us-fda-approval.html ~~ Cyclospora Outbreak Tied To Taylor Farms Lettuce Spreads To 34 States, Prompts Nationwide Recall Federal investigators have linked a multistate cyclosporiasis outbreak to shredded iceberg lettuce from Taylor Farms de Mexico, with Michigan alone logging over 5,000 cases and 100+ hospitalizations, much of it traced to lettuce used at Taco Bell. Taylor Farms has recalled all iceberg lettuce sourced from central Mexico, and Walmart has pulled Marketside Iceberg Salad and Marketside Shredded Lettuce with specific date codes across 27 states. Cyclospora spreads through fecal contamination and causes weeks of watery, explosive diarrhea if untreated; washing doesn't reliably eliminate it, since the parasite requires heat above 158°F to inactivate. Host Dave Asprey explains why pre-washed, pre-cut bagged greens remain a recurring contamination risk no matter what the label claims, and connects the outbreak's gut damage to lingering gut-brain consequences long after symptoms resolve. Sources: https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/health/2026/07/18/taylor-farms-shredded-lettuce-sample-cyclospora/90969103007/ https://www.fda.gov/food/outbreaks-foodborne-illness/investigation-5-state-outbreak-cyclospora-illnesses-iceberg-lettuce-july-2026 ~~ New Research Links Excessive Gut-Brain Synchronization To Anxiety And Depression Emerging research on the enteric nervous system, which contains over 100 million neurons and sends more signals to the brain than it receives, finds that when the gut's electrical rhythm synchronizes too tightly with the brain's, that over-coupling correlates with higher rates of anxiety and depression. The gut communicates with the brain through the vagus nerve, hormones, and immune signaling, and dysbiosis or ENS dysfunction has separately been linked to mood disorders in both human and animal studies. Host Dave Asprey breaks down why the goal isn't maximum gut-brain connection but the right kind of connection, questions whether the coupling is driving the anxiety or the anxiety is driving the coupling, and makes the case for treating mood from the gut up instead of the brain down. Source: https://refractor.io/medical/enteric-nervous-system-brain-link-mental-health/ ~~ Rhonda Patrick Explains Why She Never Adds Bananas To Her Berry Smoothies Rhonda Patrick has been telling audiences she skips bananas in her berry smoothies because of polyphenol oxidase, an enzyme in bananas that degrades the polyphenols in blueberries linked to improved cognition and vascular health, based on in-vitro and food chemistry data. She now builds her smoothies on an avocado base instead, and notes that vitamin C from citrus can partially inhibit the enzyme for anyone unwilling to drop the banana. Host Dave Asprey weighs in on the gap between lab chemistry and clinical outcome data, why that gap doesn't make the mechanism any less real, and why this is a low-cost swap worth making even without a human trial behind it. Sources: https://www.reddit.com/r/Biohackers/comments/1v2jbib/dr_rhonda_patrick_i_dont_add_bananas_to_my/ https://www.foundmyfitness.com/episodes/polyphenol-oxidase-bananas-smoothies ~~ This episode is designed for biohackers, longevity enthusiasts, and high-performance listeners who want mechanism-level insight into a sweetener risk hiding in everyday diet products, a heart attack predictor buried inside routine CT scans, the tradeoffs of a new cholesterol drug, a produce recall worth paying attention to, the science behind gut-driven anxiety, and a smoothie mistake that's quietly undercutting your polyphenol intake. Host Dave Asprey connects clinical research, cohort data, and food chemistry into practical frameworks for protecting brain health, cardiovascular health, and gut-brain resilience. On this week's show we look into our crystal ball to see what is on the Home Theater Horizon. We also read your emails and take a look at the week's news. News: 2026 Value Electronics TV Shootout: Samsung Snaps Sony TV Streak CarPlay video coming with iOS 27 WGA Seeks Injunction to Block Deal's Closing What is on the Home Theater Horizon Home theater technology is advancing quickly and the trend is moving toward wireless setups, brighter and more flexible displays, AI-powered calibration, immersive spatial audio, and simpler high-end installations. Today we take a look at what we can expect over the next couple of years. Displays: Brighter, Wireless, and Modular Ultra-thin wireless OLEDs: LG's OLED evo W6, also called the Wallpaper TV, is part of their 2026 evo lineup. It's incredibly thin — just 9 millimeters thick — and features a true wireless design. All your devices plug into a separate Zero Connect Box that can sit up to 10 meters away. The box then sends 4K video and audio wirelessly to the TV with almost no quality loss. The TV also includes Hyper Radiant Color Technology. This delivers much higher brightness — up to 3.9 times brighter than standard OLEDs — along with deeper black levels and fewer reflections. For gamers, it supports 4K at 165 Hertz, G-SYNC, and very fast response times. MicroLED and RGB advancements: MicroLED displays — including variants like Micro RGB or TriChroma — are becoming popular for luxury home theater setups. They deliver perfect blacks like OLED screens, but with much higher brightness, no burn-in risk, and modular designs that let you create custom sizes, such as 136-inch or even larger cinema walls. Brands like LG with their MAGNIT Active Micro LED, Samsung, and Sony are leading the way, offering seamless, cinema-certified picture quality. Consumer versions are still quite expensive — often six figures for a full wall — but they're becoming more realistic and affordable over time. Mini RGB: These TVs are poised to be a big hit because they combine the best of both worlds: the perfect blacks and contrast of OLED with the extreme brightness, longevity, and modular flexibility of MicroLED-style RGB technology. By using advanced Mini RGB LED backlighting, Mini RGB delivers stunning HDR performance, vibrant colors, and seamless large-screen designs ideal for luxury home theaters — all without burn-in worries. Sony's reputation for premium picture processing, cinema-grade calibration, and build quality gives their Mini RGB a clear edge over competitors, making these TVs the top choice for serious enthusiasts who want theater-like visuals that will stay impressive for years to come. Projectors: Triple-laser UST (ultra-short-throw) and standard models dominate, with brighter outputs (thousands of ISO lumens), wider color gamuts (e.g., 110% BT.2026), Dolby Vision support, and 4K/8K capabilities. Examples include XGIMI Horizon 20 Max, AWOL Vision LTV-3000 Pro, and Hisense models. Laser is now the baseline for premium performance. Audio: Wireless Immersion and Modular Systems Wireless multi-speaker ecosystems: Dolby Atmos FlexConnect is rolling out more widely including the LG Sound Suite. This enables cable-free speaker placement with accurate panning. Sony's BRAVIA Theatre lineup (Trio, Bar 7/9, etc.) emphasizes modular wireless components with 360 Spatial Sound Mapping, phantom speakers (up to 24 channels), and room calibration. Advanced AVRs and processors: Denon, Onkyo, and others offer higher-channel support (9.4+), Dirac Live/Audyssey calibration, and AI room tuning. Multi-channel processors use Audio over IP for fewer wires in custom installs. Immersive extras: Haptic furniture, synchronized smart lighting using the Philips HDMI Sync Box 2.1, and AI acoustic optimization for real-time adjustments. Other Notable Trends AI integration: Automatic calibration, content optimization, and adaptive environments including room mapping for sound and light.. Hybrid/immersive rooms: 360-degree or wraparound video with spatial audio, plus premium formats inspired by commercial cinema (laser projection, higher baselines like 7.1+ with height channels). Lifestyle focus: Movable displays, aesthetically integrated speakers, mainly acoustically transparent designs, and easier setups for non-dedicated rooms. There are some exciting technologies shaping the next couple of years in home theater. Displays are getting brighter, thinner, and more flexible with ultra-thin wireless designs. Keep winning! Two-time Emmy and Three-time NAACP Image Award-winning, television Executive Producer Rushion McDonald interviewed Al Smith. Interview Purpose The purpose of this interview is to explore life transitions, resilience, and financial discipline through the lens of elite performance, using Al Smith’s journey from NFL All‑Pro to executive, entrepreneur, and community leader as a blueprint. The conversation highlights how preparation, education, mindset, and adaptability are essential when dreams evolve or abruptly change. This interview also serves to connect the experiences of professional athletes with those of small business owners and entrepreneurs, emphasizing that success in both arenas requires discipline, accountability, and long‑term thinking. Major Themes & Key Takeaways 1. Education as a Safety Net and Strategy Al Smith made the deliberate decision to finish his college degree before fully committing to the NFL, recognizing that professional sports offered no guarantees. This choice gave him leverage, confidence, and security—both mentally and financially—throughout his career. Key takeaway: Always secure something tangible before going “all in” on an uncertain opportunity. 2. Turning Fear into Fuel Smith openly discusses fear—fear of being cut, fear of competition, fear of uncertainty—and how he learned to convert fear into motivation rather than paralysis. He treated each season as if it were his last, approaching preparation with urgency and focus. Key takeaway: Fear is inevitable; how you respond to it determines longevity and success. 3. Competition Is Not the Enemy Competition played a central role in Smith’s development. Rather than avoiding it, he embraced it, understanding that growth requires discomfort. He credits adversity, pressure, and coaching challenges with sharpening his performance and character. Key takeaway: Competition strengthens discipline and reveals accountability. 4. Financial Literacy and Lifestyle Discipline Smith addresses the common financial pitfalls faced by professional athletes, many of which also apply to entrepreneurs: Lifestyle inflation Supporting others without boundaries Delegating financial decisions without understanding them Trying to maintain an image instead of sustainability Smith’s financial stability was aided by mentors, personal involvement in decisions, and a mindset focused on not owing—not just earning. Key takeaway: Financial success is not about income—it’s about control, habits, and awareness. 5. Mentorship and Environment Matter Smith emphasizes the value of surrounding himself with successful, disciplined people both on and off the field. Mentorship influenced how he thought about money, effort, competition, and leadership. Key takeaway: Proximity shapes thinking; environment influences outcomes. 6. Preparing for Life After the Dream Even while succeeding in the NFL, Smith planned for the transition ahead. This forward thinking led to opportunities in the front office, business, and leadership. He viewed this transition as a chance to open doors for others and to understand the business side of sports. Key takeaway: The end of one dream can be the beginning of a larger purpose. 7. Athletes and Entrepreneurs Face the Same Reality Smith draws a direct parallel between: Athletes competing yearly with no guarantees Entrepreneurs running businesses without security or routine Both require maximum effort, preparation beyond the clock, and resilience. Key takeaway: There is no 40‑hour workweek when you are building something of your own. Notable Quotes “I turned my fear into fire.” “There are no guarantees—every year is a one‑year deal.” “I treated every season like it was my last.” “You don’t want to owe. You want to own.” “Don’t be scared of competition.” “The gain outweighs the strain.” “Prepare so that if it ends tomorrow, you’re still standing.” Overall Message Al Smith’s interview is a powerful lesson in discipline, foresight, and adaptability. It reframes success as something built through preparation before opportunity arrives and sustained by humility, mentorship, and intentional decision‑making. His story reinforces that dreams evolve—but character, work ethic, and financial awareness determine whether those transitions become setbacks or stepping stones. #SHMS #BEST #STRAWSteve Harvey Morning Show Online: http://www.steveharveyfm.com/See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Summer vacation is nearing it's end, and somehow it's almost time to send the kids back to school. Dale and Amy aren't fully ready for it, but they're making the most of their time at the beach. Their good friend TJ Majors borrowed Isla's scooter and quickly found himself on the ground. Amy took the girls to a Taylor Swift cover band that she thought was kid-friendly, but that thought quickly faded. And Dale had a run-in with a code enforcement officer over a beach house project. Plus, Dale, Amy, and Travis debate electric scooters, test their fifth-grade knowledge, and Dale talks about Steve Letarte's carpooling plan that had him completely baffled. The show rounds out with a great edition of Ask Amy featuring Dale's reaction to the new Days of Thunder 2 news and a special guest lineup for next week's Bless Your Hardt. Fix Leaky Gut, Boost Testosterone & Slash Endotoxins with Spore-Based Probiotics | Kiran KrishnanYour bad gut bacteria might be the reason your testosterone, your immune system, and even your sperm count are struggling, and most probiotics never survive long enough to fix it. This episode reveals which strains actually make it through your stomach acid alive, and what happens once they do. Go To JustThriveHealth.com/asprey for a free 90 day supply of bitters with your next subscription. Host Dave Asprey sits down with research microbiologist Kiran Krishnan, co-founder of Microbiome Labs, the leading microbiome therapeutics brand among healthcare professionals. He has published multiple peer-reviewed studies, holds global patents, and has spent 20 years building companies focused on the science of the microbiome. His work centers on spore-based probiotics, the rare strains proven to survive the stomach's brutal acidity and actually rebuild the gut from the inside out. Kiran and Dave break down why 98 percent of conventional probiotics die before they ever reach your gut, and why spore-forming bacteria are different. They dig into the "gelding effect," the well-documented pathway where endotoxins from bad gut bacteria shut down testosterone production and drive up cortisol, and how fixing your microbiome can reverse it. They cover the connection between endotoxemia and nearly every major marker of aging, metabolism, and inflammation, why butyrate acts like a natural GLP-1 for fat loss, how Akkermansia can upregulate mitochondria and improve blood sugar control, and the surprising role vitamin K2 plays in bone density and functional medicine. This is biohacking at the cellular level, using ancient biology, fasting-adjacent metabolic pathways, and precision supplementation to optimize human performance from the gut up. You'll Learn: Why 98 percent of probiotics die in your stomach before they ever work What the "gelding effect" is and how gut bacteria can shut down testosterone How endotoxins drive inflammation, cortisol, and accelerated aging Why butyrate functions like a natural, low-cost alternative to GLP-1 drugs How Akkermansia improves mitochondrial function and blood sugar control The overlooked link between your microbiome and vitamin K2 production Why spore-based probiotics can survive gastric acid when most others cannot How 90 days of gut repair can measurably reduce circulating endotoxins Keywords: best probiotics that survive stomach acid, spore based probiotics benefits, gelding effect testosterone, endotoxins and testosterone, how to lower endotoxins, LPS gut bacteria, Akkermansia GLP-1 natural, gut bacteria and belly fat, vitamin K2 bone density, Kiran Krishnan microbiologist, Just Thrive probiotic, leaky gut symptoms, microbiome and testosterone, fecal transplant benefits, Dave Asprey, biohacking, longevity Resources: • Go To JustThriveHealth.com/asprey for a free 90 day supply of bitters with your next subscription • Learn More About All Of Just Thrive's Offerings At: https://justthrivehealth.com/ • Get My 2026 Clean Nicotine Roadmap | Enroll for free at https://daveasprey.com/2026-clean-nicotine-roadmap/ • Dave Asprey's Latest News | Go to https://daveasprey.com/ to join Inside Track today. • Danger Coffee: https://dangercoffee.com/discount/dave15? • My Daily Supplements: SuppGrade Labs (15% Off) • Favorite Blue Light Blocking Glasses: TrueDark (15% Off) • Dave Asprey's BEYOND Conference: https://beyondconference.com • Dave Asprey's New Book – Heavily Meditated: https://daveasprey.com/heavily-meditated • Join My Substack (Live Access To Podcast Recordings): https://substack.daveasprey.com/ • Upgrade Labs: https://upgradelabs.com Thank you to our sponsors! - ZenBud | Dave's Nervous System Biohack. Welcome back to How to Decorate from Ballard Designs! While the team takes a short summer break, we are sharing some of our best and most beloved conversations from the archives. Today, we are re-airing our all-time most listened-to episode, and it is all about furniture shopping. Buying furniture is a big decision that can easily feel overwhelming, with countless options, price points, and potential mistakes. Caroline, Taryn, and Liz sit down to discuss how to approach furniture as a long-term investment and share practical tips on construction and fabrics so you never regret a purchase again! Quick Decorating Takeaways: Know Your Space and Lifestyle: Before looking at styles, assess how you actually live. Are you eating snacks on the couch, hosting dinner parties, or accommodating pets? Knowing these details dictates what kind of fabric and cushion style you will need. Test Drive Your Fabric: Fabric is often the most crucial element in determining a sofa's longevity. Order a full yard of your fabric swatch, wrap it around your favorite chair or dog bed, spill coffee on it, and see how well it cleans up before you commit. Understand Construction Basics: Look for kiln-dried wood frames to prevent the frame from cracking. While eight-way hand-tied springs used to be the gold standard, modern suspension technology offers fantastic durability and comfort as well. Avoid the "Showroom" Look: Do not buy a perfectly matched furniture set if you want a collected feel. Give your space personality by mixing leg styles (e.g., skirts versus exposed legs), arm shapes, and wood tones. Create a Room Plan First: Do not shop in a vacuum! Map out your room on graph paper or use painter's tape on the floor to understand how pieces will actually fit, flow, and scale with your ceiling height. Keep Swatches Handy: Stash your essential fabric and paint swatches, along with room measurements, in your car's glove box. You never know when you will spot the perfect piece while out shopping. What You'll Hear on This Episode: 00:34 Intro to our summer "best of" series and why this is our most popular episode. 01:44 Trials and triumphs: new babies, basement offices, hardware decisions, and carbon monoxide scares. 25:41 Why buying a sofa starts with knowing yourself and testing out seats in a store. 35:18 The nitty-gritty of sofa construction, from kiln-dried wood to spring types. 46:39 The importance of choosing the right fabric and how to effectively "test drive" it. 52:40 Observing where your guests naturally gravitate to optimize your room's seating layout. 56:57 Dealing with long furniture lead times and why you shouldn't settle. 01:01:54 Dining room strategies: picking wipeable fabrics and indestructible quartz or porcelain tables. 01:07:21 How to effectively partner with a store's sales associate to find your perfect match. 01:11:32 Designing a collected room without getting stuck in a "matchy-matchy" trap. 01:16:04 Tips for budgeting your furniture layout piece-by-piece and pacing your purchases. 01:22:10 How to scale pieces correctly using tape, cardboard, and line drawings. 01:28:56 The furniture purchases the hosts regret most—and their all-time favorite statement pieces. Income, Impact, Lifestyle July 19, 2026 | Episode 5501 Host: Scott Smith Episode Description Hope you had a great weekend. I can feel fall coming, and I'm up to something with a credit card I'll tell you about another day. Today I'm sharing the one thing I work on with almost every client I've ever had. It comes down to three words: income, impact, and lifestyle. Every real goal lives at that intersection. I'll show you why I lead with money, how to run the actual numbers instead of the vibe, and how time compression turns someday into a date on your calendar. Let's get to it. Featured Story Somebody comes to me and says, Scott, I want to have an impact on the world. Great, I say. What's your idea? They tell me, and I love it. Let's build it. Then I ask the question nobody expects. How much money you got? Not because I want it — I want the runway. How long do you have to make this work? I can last maybe three weeks, they say. I've heard that answer before. And I tell them the truth: let's not even start. You're not ready yet. You need more runway before that dream has a chance to breathe and pay off. Important Points * Every real goal lives at one intersection: what you earn, the mark you leave, and the life you live while you do it. * Lead with income. It doesn't matter most, but it clarifies everything and gets you to the impact and lifestyle faster. * Run the real numbers with taxes and monthly burn. Do it once, and someday becomes an actual date on your calendar, so you can see when it starts paying off. Memorable Quotes * Every single big goal you have lives right at the intersection of three things: income, impact, and lifestyle. * I want the runway, not the money. What really matters is how long you've got to make this whole thing actually work. * Most people never do the math on their dream. They wing it, or worse, they put the whole thing on a credit card. Scott's Three-Step Approach * Start with a goal so big you can't see a ceiling, the kind you can scale forever without ever getting trapped in a cage. * Then figure out the income first — the cash, the runway, the burn rate — so the whole dream finally stops being a vibe and starts paying off. * Finally, compress the timeline from ten years to two, and watch what that pressure forces you to act on today so the payoff comes sooner. Chapters 0:01 - The nicest renegade and a credit card secret 1:01 - The two I's and the L that run everything 2:36 - Every big goal lives at one intersection 4:00 - Why I always lead with the money, not impact 5:06 - Run the real numbers instead of the vibe 5:49 - Compress ten years down into two or three 8:04 - Financial planning attached to your dreams Connect With Me Search for the Daily Boost on YouTube, Apple Podcasts, and Spotify * Email: support@motivationtomove.com * Main Website: https://motivationtomove.com * YouTube: https://youtube.com/dailyboostpodcast * Instagram: https://instagram.com/heyscottsmith * Facebook Page: https://facebook.com/motivationtomove * Facebook Group: https://dailyboostpodcast.com/facebook Learn more about your ad choices. Most people think biohacking is only for billionaires with access to expensive machines, private clinics, and million-dollar anti-aging protocols. But the truth is, some of the most powerful upgrades in your biology start with the basic signals your body receives every single day.In this video, Dave Asprey breaks down how to start biohacking with around $200 by focusing on the foundations that control your sleep, energy, focus, and cellular repair. These are the simple changes that can create a massive difference before you ever spend money on advanced technology. If you've ever wanted to feel sharper, recover better, sleep deeper, and support your body's natural repair systems without wasting money on random gadgets, this video shows you where to start.Try Danger Creatine: https://dangercoffee.com/products/danger-creatineTry TrueDark glasses: https://truedark.comTry Danger Coffee: https://dangercoffee.com/discount/davetubeTry Suppgrade Labs: https://shopsuppgradelabs.com/I have spent twenty years and millions of dollars testing every legal focus drug I could get my hands on. In this video, I break down which compounds actually work, which ones are a waste of money, and the exact stack that delivers hours of clean focus without the afternoon crash. The shift is simple: focus isn't a willpower problem. It's an energy production problem inside your brain. Once you fuel it at the cellular level, deep focus stops being a struggle and becomes the default state.Thank you to our sponsors! Shawn Stevenson On The Science of Family Meals, Oxytocin, and LongevityYour dinner table might be the most overlooked biohack in your house. This episode reveals the exact minimum dose of family meals that lowers a child's risk of obesity, the hormone your body releases every time you eat with people you love, and why teaching your kids to cook may protect their metabolism for life.Host Dave Asprey sits down with Shawn Stevenson, founder of The Model Health Show and author of the bestselling Eat Smarter Family Cookbook series. Shawn spent over two decades studying nutritional science and functional medicine after recovering from advanced degenerative disc disease at age 20, and he has become one of the most trusted voices in health media for turning peer-reviewed research into real-world family habits.Shawn and Dave break down the science of community eating, including new research on oxytocin, nervous system regulation, and metabolism that shows why sitting down together beats eating alone every time. Everything bad happens when Dale Jr. isn't home… at least that's what Amy is starting to believe. On this episode of Bless Your Heart, Dale and Amy are back at the beach house talking about the latest adventure that went wrong while Dale was away at the race. After a massive storm rolled through, Amy, Karsyn, and the girls found themselves stranded with a dead golf cart and had to push their way home. That leads to Dale building his case that Amy might be the reason his vehicles keep breaking down, including the story of what happened when she took his restored S-10 truck for a drive. The conversation doesn't stop there. Dale reveals the one very specific song he wants played at his funeral, Amy shares her thoughts on his growing trading card obsession, and the two debate whether hobbies are ever really “too much.” Then they switch over to Ask Amy, where they answer fan questions about Freddie's chair, pickle wine, favorite childhood memories at their grandparents' houses, and the ultimate breakfast debate: pancakes, waffles, or French toast. It's another episode full of stories, laughs, and the adventures that somehow always find Dale and Amy.
