In today's episode, we discuss what it really takes to be a musician on cruise ships. Working on cruise ships as a musician is very similar to working on land in terms of the business. In general, it isn't solely dependent on talent. We see this in mainstream entertainment all the time. Artists don't necessarily need an unbelievable amount of talent in order to create a name for themselves or create a career. Other variables such as personal branding, image, and ability to entertain play such a large factor in whether or not an artist/musician is able to succeed. Musicians on cruise ships work at the mercy of the guests and operate under the entertainment department. Thus, everything depends heavily on reviews. Great musicians/artists are entertainers first. This isn't to say that the art/craft comes second, but they're able to know their limitations and use their strengths to entertain their audience. Have questions? In today's episode, we discuss how crew members on cruise ships juggle scheduling and sleep. It's pretty well known that crew members have hectic schedules (for the most part). Due to this hectic schedule, we have to make sure we're making the right decisions to ensure proper performance on the job, by sleeping enough and doing the things that keep our spirits up.

In today's episode, we're discussing everything about relationships on cruise ships. From relationships between crew and guests and crew and crew, we dive into the no-nos and the go-gos (is that a thing?) regarding relationships on cruise ships. To sum things up, having intimate/sexual relationships with guests on cruise ships is a huge no-no, but general, platonic relationships is very encouraged as it builds helps the cruise line get better reviews because this encourages guests to come back on the same cruise line. Due to the red tape around having intimate/sexual relationships with guests on cruise ships, the cruise line almost encourages crew to seek companionship between crew members. It's definitely not stated outright, but if you're desperate for some tail... There are a ton of other crew members in the same boat! (See what I did there??) Don't have time to watch the full video?
