In 1907, the men who would go on to lead the Russian Revolution met in London for a crucial congress. But the revolutionaries – including Vladimir Lenin, Joseph Stalin, and Leon Trotsky – were nearly stranded after running out of funds. The late British journalist Henry Brailsford played a key role in securing their fare home.In 1947, he told the BBC how the meeting marked a point of no return for the party's two warring factions – the Bolsheviks and the Mensheviks – and ultimately led to the creation of the communist party.Produced and presented by Vicky Farncombe. Eye-witness accounts brought to life by archive. Witness History is for those fascinated by the past. We take you to the events that have shaped our world through the eyes of the people who were there. For nine minutes every day, we take you back in time and all over the world, to examine wars, coups, scientific discoveries, cultural moments and much more. Recent episodes explore everything from football in Brazil, the history of the ‘Indian Titanic' and the invention of air fryers, to Public Enemy's Fight The Power, subway art and the political crisis in Georgia. We look at the lives of some of the most famous leaders, artists, scientists and personalities in history, including: visionary architect Antoni Gaudi and the design of the Sagrada Familia; Michael Jordan and his bespoke Nike trainers; Princess Diana at the Taj Mahal; and Görel Hanser, manager of legendary Swedish pop band Abba on the influence they've had on the music industry. You can learn all about fascinating and surprising stories, such as the time an Iraqi journalist hurled his shoes at the President of the United States in protest of America's occupation of Iraq; the creation of the Hollywood commercial that changed advertising forever; and the ascent of the first Aboriginal MP.(Photo: A group of revolutionaries including Bolshevik leader Vladimir Lenin (centre) and Menshevik leader Julius Martov (on his right). On today's episode I speak about enjoying myself recording episodes with my family and i jump into talking about my birthday celebration. I talk about seeing my fellow crabs living it up and me wanting to do the same. I also came to the realization that i don't like being the center of attention. Like people think 1+2= talks to me, it does not mean that lol but i still mess with y'all. Then i talk about the Breakfast club vs streamers, I didn't mind it but these young kids are in a tizzy over it and it is fun to watch.CRAZY TRAIN - OZZY OSBOURNELET'S GO - TRICK DADDY(00:00 - 23:26)I have a new not so new segment which is about movie reviews and spoilers. This week i speak about “ SUPERMAN 2025” and this movie wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be, it was pretty good. When i saw the trailer i was intrigued because it was showing him injured, so i believed there was something else going on but no the Director wanted to make him somewhat relatable. Hated that part, but besides that it was a good film. It's basically trying to show the humanity of Superman, but also throwing in a John Wick moment which is what seems to be the new go to. In general, this was a good watch and the kids will love it too, so it is not only for adults. (23:27 - 35:35)I then jump into The Cool Report where I give praise to the JBP for his interview with the times, Where we discover he makes 20 million a year and that is amazing for an independent artist. Most people think he is not, but he totally is and this is huge for everyone across the podcast universe. He let us know we don't need to take there ad sponsors, you don't have to give up working rights when signing a deal, and that your work stays your work, I love it. From there we go into the Stephen Colbert cancellation and people don't think this is a big thing, but this is the sign of bigger rights to be taken away from us, this is bigger than celebrities. We then jump into the William McNeil Jr case and how it was abuse of force, now now now i am not sating that the gentleman was 100 percent in the right, but one does not lead to the other if one was not profiled, tune into see what I had to say about this outcome.(35:36 - 56:47)We then step into a segment where the listeners ask me 3 questions about myself or just randomness. Like a character telling me they did not get my mix from last week, so I gave them a break down personally for them, because it was not tocking for them, is I dropped the science. Another character wanted to know what were my birthday goals and i don't know, not really concerned over them. One also wanted to know if i were stuck on a island what would I bring with me, and i feel like everyone always answer this question wrong, they bring things that can't help them. (55:48 - 01:05:34)Then we have 2 fans ask us a questions for PTL where we get asked the tough questions where we place ourselves in their shoes. A lover wants to know why their partner has so much low self esteem, and keeps trying to break up with him. He is so flabbergasted with the idea of a break up, that he chalks it up to low self esteem on her end, it was hilarious. Another lover wants to know if getting matching tattoos 6 months in is a lot for the beginning stage, i think not, go for it buddy. Get his and hers tattoos to show it's real.(01:05:35 - 01:13:05)THE FINI give bonus content because an error was made on my end and i forgot to hit record on the card but i was able to clean up audio and here we're .I give thank to everyone that shows us love and wish y'all the best on the journey called life.(01:13:06 - 01:15:27)Please continue to like, share, comment and subscribe.PEACE OUT!!!! The human body is a miraculous thing. Most incredible is the fact that we only know a small fragment of what it is capable of and it's potential. Specifically when it comes to genomes and our DNA. This week's guest, Ruslana Remennikova, has dedicated her life to this fascinating exploration of human potential & evolution. Ruslana is the author of the book, Activating Our 12-Stranded DNA: Secrets of Dodecahedral DNA for Completing Our Human Evolution. She is also a scientist, sound healer, and artist. On this guest episode, Ruslana shares some fascinating insights into mysterious and exciting realms of where Science meets Spirituality. She explains what first sparked the idea for Activating Our 12-Stranded DNA, describes the idea of 12-stranded DNA & why it's important, and what the special frequencies are that seem to “speak” to our DNA. She also speaks on how sound and intention work together when it comes to awakening our DNA, what the connection is between water, DNA, and consciousness, and how activating our DNA can support healing—both emotionally and physically.Social media: www.ruslanaremennikova.com@ruslana.remennikova (Instagram) and FacebookBio: Ruslana Remennikova is a scientist, sound healer, and artist, and the author of Activating Our 12-Stranded DNA: Secrets of Dodecahedral DNA for Completing Our Human Evolution (Inner Traditions, Park Street Press, 2025)

This after the football academy allegedly failed to pay for return flights and accommodation. The group left Cape Town on the 6th of July and were due to have arrived back on Wednesday. Eighteen-year-old player, Uan Jumat is among a group of over 20 who have been left with no way home. His mother, Chriszelda Williams says the group is currently in Lisbon, Portugal after fundraising. She says parents are now at their wits end and are running out of funds.
Lester Kiewit speaks to concerned parent Virgil Martin, about a nightmare tour to Spain organised by BT Football Academy. No return tickets were secured for the group who paid R50 000 for the trip. NGI markets editor Chris Newman sits down with Bracewell partners Bryan Clark and Jared Berg to discuss how companies can tap associated gas supply in the Permian Basin to fuel innovative co-located power arrangements and potentially receive higher pricing than at the oft-volatile West Texas benchmark, Waha. While data centers housing artificial intelligence grab headlines for their massive appetite for electricity, these projects represent a broader trend of associated gas assets being monetized for various in-basin power needs. Bigger projects may solve gas supply issues, but they bring operational complexity. Clark and Berg give examples of existing and proposed off-grid uses and the challenges they face.

Some time ago, the British journalist Sophie Elmhirst was reporting a story about people who try to escape the land and to live on the water. “I found myself trolling around as you do in these moments, online and on a website devoted to castaway stories and shipwreck stories,” she tells host Gilbert Cruz. “There were lots of photographs and tales of lone wild men who were pitched up on desert islands and had various escapades. And in among all of these was a tiny little black-and-white picture of a man and a woman."The couple were Maurice and Maralyn Bailey, a husband and wife who took to the seas from 1970s England, selling their suburban home to buy a boat and sail to New Zealand. Nine months into the trip, a sperm whale breached under their boat, leaving them stranded on a crude raft with an assortment of salvaged items, luckily including water, canned food, a camera — and a biography of King Richard III. Elmhirst tells the Baileys' story in her new book, “A Marriage at Sea." Unlock full access to New York Times podcasts and explore everything from politics to pop culture. Send us a textThis July, we are featuring special guests from across The Diocese of Atlanta. This is the first of four special guest episodes. The Good Samaritan is a parable that many in our society have heard. We often think of ourselves as the Samaritan - the helper. But what happens when we find ourselves helpless and in need? The Rev. Tricia Templeton's personal journey offers a unique perspective taking us on a personal journey through the Good Samaritan parable—not as the helper, but as the one who needed help.In this episode, Melissa has a conversation with Tricia about her time serving in the Peace Corps in the early 1980s. Tricia experienced a frightening situation when thieves broke into her Malaysian hotel room while she slept, stealing everything except her passport. Stranded with limited options, she encountered unexpected compassion from a Thai woman prostitute. This stranger provided meals, packed lunch for Tricia's journey, and gave her emergency money—going far beyond basic assistance. The parallels to Jesus' radical parable are striking: help often comes from those we least expect. This episode challenges us to examine our resistance to receiving. Have we internalized the message that giving is superior to receiving so deeply that we miss blessings offered through unexpected channels? As Tricia wisely observes, "The most unlikely person might be just the person who has what you need at that moment." Listen for the full conversation.Read For Faith, the companion devotional. The Rev. Tricia Templeton has been rector of St. Dunstan's for 21 years. She previously served churches in Knoxville and Chattanooga. Before going to seminary she was a newspaper reporter and editor and a Peace Corps volunteer in Thailand. Support the show Follow us on IG and FB at Bishop Rob Wright.

In this episode of Energy Newsbeat – Conversations in Energy, Stuart Turley talks with Mark Lancaster about solving the stranded gas challenge by turning wasted natural gas into energy for Bitcoin mining and data centers. Lancaster explains how his company provides fast, scalable natural gas generators, which cut project timelines and reduce emissions. They discuss the impact of Biden-era policies, grid backup requirements for data centers, and how Bitcoin miners help oil producers monetize gas. Lancaster also highlights investment opportunities in energy infrastructure, including portable LNG, with scarcity driving demand across the oil, gas, and power sectors.I had an absolute blast talking with Mark, and we have another podcast scheduled for recording in a week with Steve Reese to discuss the impact on the United States grid. As demand for electricity skyrockets, large flexible loads like data centers and Bitcoin miners are reshaping how – and where – energy infrastructure is built. But integrating these loads into a grid already under pressure requires a rethink of both project development and power market participation. In this episode of Transmission, Quentin is joined by Brock Petersen, COO at Satoshi Energy, to unpack how digital infrastructure is co-locating with renewables – and why that could unlock new opportunities for grid flexibility and clean energy investment. From the load profiles of AI data centers to the geographic arbitrage of Bitcoin mining, this episode explores what these emerging industries mean for grid planning, transmission bottlenecks, and the economics of new build generation. In this episode, you'll learn:How co-location unlocks stranded renewables: Why pairing flexible data center load with renewable assets helps monetize energy that would otherwise go unused.Bitcoin vs. AI load profiles: The key differences in cooling needs, flexibility, and infrastructure requirements.ERCOT's load boom: What 135 GW of new load requests means for one of the world's most dynamic power markets. The role of transmission and interconnection queues: How load-following strategies could help relieve pressure on grid infrastructure. What utilities and developers should know: Insights for navigating site selection, market design, and emerging opportunities in flexible load integration.About our guestBrock Petersen is the Chief Operating Officer of Satoshi Energy, a Houston-based energy technology company pioneering the integration of renewable energy with data center operations. “I sold the coins for current pesos and went to the grocery store. I literally bought food for my family that day,” recalls Lobo Tiggre. In today's summer series themed on how precious metals can change and even save lives, he shares emotional moments of how silver coins came to the rescue. The first shock occurred in 1977:“My stack of cash is literally worth half of what it was the day before.” Decades later, in 1999, Lobo was driving to Costa Rica with his wife and three children when the job he was moving for vanished mid-journey. Stranded in Mexico with no income and mouths to feed, he turned to his old coin collection — a briefcase of silver he'd saved since childhood.“If I had had paper pesos, they would have been basically worthless. But instead, I had those pesos that had a smidgen of silver.”“That lesson didn't just save my life. It later saved my family.”Watch the video to hear Lobo's full story, a powerful reminder of why real money still matters.✅ FREE RESOURCESDownload the Ultimate Decision-Making Guide on Gold & Silver plus Daniela Cambone's Top 10 Lessons to safeguard your wealth (FREE)
Join us as my friend Tracy and I chase Muskies on the legendary Lake of the Woods in Ontario, Canada. When the fish weren't biting the first few days of the trip, we made a bold decision to explore a new area- one that required portaging our boat overland using an old rail cart system. Things didn't go as planned and we soon found ourselves stranded on the wrong side of the portage with daylight slipping away. Send us a textHello, passionate cruisers! This is Paul and this week on The Joy of Cruising Podcast I am delighted to welcome Helena and Dustin, two “cruisers” with a once-in-a-lifetime harrowing tale with a happy ending on Carnival Splendor. Another one of those world-wide new human-interest stories I love bringing to the listeners of The Joy of Cruising Podcast. Dusty and Helena are two Australians in their late 30s who have been living off-grid for the past three years. Their journey began with a motorhome adventure around Australia — accompanied by their three beloved dogs. After completing the full lap of the country, they asked themselves, “Why not take on the world?” That question led them to their next big chapter: life at sea. Eight months ago, they bought a catamaran, La Vita, and set sail, trading roads for open ocean and embracing a new kind of freedom. Along the way, they decided to document their sailing adventures — the highs, the lows, and everything in between — in a YouTube vlog called Sailing Barking Cat." Back at home in Australia is the wine company, Little Ripples, that Dustin founded and is the CEO of, and is so instrumental to their story.Little Ripples is wine with purpose. Crafted in Australia's most celebrated wine regions, every bottle of Little Ripples delivers more than just great taste — it provides one year of clean drinking water to a person in need. So far, we've helped over 750,000 people with 1 year of clean and safe water, and we're on a mission to reach 5 million lives within 10 years. From bold Shiraz to crisp Sauvignon Blanc, our wines are made to be shared, savoured, and remembered — not just for their flavour, but for their impact. Drink well. Do good. That's the Little Ripples way. When Daniel Wolman of Australia decided to join a Keren Hayesod-UIA mission to Israel to better understand the conflict in the region, he never expected to be caught up by Israel's surprise launch of a military campaign in Iran. With the Israel's airspace closed, and repatriation yet to begin, Wolman spoke to KAN reporter Naomi Segal about the uncertainty surrounding efforts to get home. (Photo: Associated Press. As Iran and Israel trade missile strikes, Israel's airspace has shut down, leaving tens of thousands of foreign nationals stranded, including thousands of Britons. Among them is the UK's Chief Rabbi, Sir Ephraim Mirvis, who had travelled to Israel with his family ahead of a planned speech in Munich. What was meant to be a visit of celebration has turned into days and nights under the shadow of war, marked by air raid sirens, closed borders and sheltering in bunkers. In this special episode of The Daily T, Camilla speaks to the Chief Rabbi in Herzliya as he share his experience on the ground, explains why the people of Israel support the war and his reflections on how the crisis has impacted the British Jewish community.Producers: Georgia Coan and Lilian FawcettPlanning Editor: Venetia RaineyExecutive Producer: Louisa WellsSocial Media Producer: Ji-Min LeeVideo Editor: Will WaltersStudio Operator: Meghan SearleOriginal music by Goss Studio Hosted on Acast. [00:30] The Age of War (35 minutes) The world is anxiously waiting to learn President Trump's decision on whether or not the United States will carry out direct strikes on Iran. In the U.S., many people are arguing that America should stay out of another Middle East conflict. The reality is that Iran has been at war with the West for decades. [35:00] A Beacon of Hope (20 minutes) Earlier today, Newsmax published an article about Celtic Throne's tour in Israel and the troupe's journey to continue its first international tour. The author of the article, titled “Stranded but Undaunted: U.S. Dancers Beacon of Hope in Israel,” writes: “In a time when international performers often cancel tours to Israel due to security concerns or political pressure, Celtic Throne took the opposite path. They came when others fled. They danced when others fell silent. And they stayed when others found the exits.”
Asia correspondent Erin Hale spoke to Lisa Owen about a volcanic eruption in Indonesia that has left many tourists, including New Zealanders, stranded in Bali, meanwhile two suspects have been arrested after an Australian tourist was shot and killed in Bali.
