Ep 5: Oops Sorry Life Happened

We're sure you noticed how short this episode is, and that's because August really chose violence on both of us. We apologize because this is not a full episode, so we understand if you skip it, but you should listen anyway to hear the wacky tales of Maeve dropping her phone in the ocean and then having to evacuate the hurricane, as well as Jera's story of getting pulled over twice in two different states within a 45 minute span. We promise there will be a sports episode in the near future, but come back next month to hear all about strange medical phenomena, and finally learn the identity of our very special guest! Stay safe and we'll see you in September! Please feel free to subscribe, rate, review, and share our silly little show to help other folks find it! Happy July everybody! This month we'll be discussing some lesser known serial killers to give you some spooks in July! After Jera fails the coin toss twice, they will tell us the bone chilling story of Alaska serial killer Israel Keyes, whose pre-buried "kill kits" you may have heard of before, but how much do you know about the whole case? Then Maeve will tell us a story that is actually pretty close to both hosts, as they both grew up in the same town of serial killer Michael Ross, who in some documentaries and articles is called "The Roadside Strangler" and "The Egg Man." As locals to the town, Maeve and Jera can both confirm that no one has ever referred to him as those names, so don't listen to the silly media. Then hold on till the end to hear Maeve's anecdote of her eleven year old brain not knowing what a serial killer was, as well as some exciting announcements of things to come! Stay safe and silly, friends! *Content Warning: sexual assault, child violence, and domestic abuse* Please feel free to subscribe, rate, review, and share our silly little show to help other folks find it! Happy Pride month! First, Jera will educate us all about queer coding in cinema, then we'll get into their silly theories about their favorite queer coded characters, as well as some fictional relationships that they read as queer. Then stick around for Maeve's biography all about All-American actor Tab Hunter, and his exploits as a closeted person in Hollywood in the 50's and 60's. If you are interested in learning more about these topics (after listening to our angelic voices, of course), you can check out the documentaries we mentioned, which are "The Celluloid Closet," and "Tab Hunter Confidential." Have a happy and safe July 4th, enjoy your favorite queer films, and we will see you next month! Welcome back for our May episode all about crime! We may have teased other stories for this topic, but oopsie, we fibbed. Sometimes we do that. First, Maeve will take us back to the five years (although Jera is bad at math and said six) where famed bank robber Pretty Boy Floyd was VERY active during the 20's and 30's. Then we'll time travel even further back to the Civil War to hear Jera tell us all about Southern socialite and Confederate spy, Mrs. Rose O'Neal Greenhow. If you are interested in finding the song Maeve talked about, it's called "Pretty Boy Floyd" by Woody Guthrie, and the book Jera talked about is "My Imprisonment" by Mrs. Rose Greenhow. Welcome to our very first episode! Join us as we talk all about television shows! First, Jera will take us on a nostalgic journey through groundbreaking sitcoms of the 90's. Then Maeve will educate us all about TV viewing technology; specifically streaming. Is live TV on its decline? Did Jera confess to breaking a VHS tape that their mother had no idea about? Does Maeve agree with what IMDB says the best show of the 90's is? You'll have to listen to find out, won't you?
