David Daoud explores the Israel-Lebanon security deal and the IDF's destruction of a major Hezbollah arsenal. Daoud explains the concept of "pilot zones" where the Lebanese Armed Forces must perform demonstrably before territorial expansion. He notes Hezbollah wants a pragmatic end to pain but rejects normalization. 7v
David Daoud and Bill Roggio analyze "pilot zones" as a mechanism to hold Lebanon's feet to the fire regarding Hezbollah's disarmament. Daoud warns that if the US prioritizes quiet with Iran, these zones could become pressure tactics against Israel rather than mechanisms for actual Lebanese performance. 8ř979 Iran

BETA Technologies is a Nasdaq-listed aircraft manufacturer breaking new ground with its advanced pursuit of building world-beating electric planes. Kyle Clark, Founder and CEO, explains the economic advantages of electric aircraft. He discusses assembly to operating systems, and then explains how oil majors are the beneficiaries of planes constantly refuelling, but those who own and make the electric airplanes & their batteries have a much greater continued advantage. He describes how the US wants to lead in electric aviation, the military demand, why regulation can help as it creates barriers to entry, why for their roll out, cargo, medical & logistics are coming before people. However, longer flights, more people, and the peace of flying electric, are all part of a fascinating new chapter in flight. The Money Maze Podcast is kindly sponsored by J.P. Others are forged there.Rob “Scratch” Mitchell grew up surrounded by aviation legend — his grandfather flew Spitfires over occupied Europe, his father patrolled Cold War skies in a Royal Canadian Air Force jet. By the time Scratch sat down to choose his own path, there was never really a question. He wanted to fly fighters. He wanted to be the best. And through relentless focus, iron discipline, and a willingness to outwork everyone around him, that's exactly what he became. In this episode of the Pilot to Pilot Podcast, Scratch takes us from the crucible of Canadian military pilot training — where attrition rates hovered near 50% — through the unforgiving world of F-18 tactical flying, into the bright lights of the Canadian Forces Snowbirds, where he eventually led the team as commanding officer. Along the way, he opens up about the fatal accident that occurred on his watch during his very first airshow weekend as team lead, and what it taught him about leadership, humanity, and what it truly means to hold a team together when the world falls apart. What you'll hear in this episode:How Scratch finished number one in his pilot training class to guarantee a fighter slot — and why second place wasn't an optionThe story behind his callsign, involving a French tanker, the wrong basket technique, and a very expensive canopyWhat 95 airshows in a single season does to a team — and to a marriageThe moment during the Snowbirds' first airshow of the season when his wingman was lost, and how Scratch led nine pilots back to earth when the world had just gone silentWhy ego has no place in the debrief room — even when you're debriefing your commanding officerThe civilian world's hardest lesson for a fighter pilot: sometimes skill and effort aren't enough, and luck is a variable you cannot controlHis pivot from the cockpit to the camera — and why aviation storytelling was always the through lineWhether you fly airliners, light aircraft, or simply love the world above the clouds, this is an episode about what it means to commit completely — to a mission, to a team, and to yourself.

We're down to two shows this week as the world cup (or embargoes, depending on who you ask) closes its vice-like grip on the airwaves. But what a pair they are: we're back in the spy business with Michael Fassbender in the return of Paramount+'s espionage drama The Agency, and on the missing persons beat with Colin Farrell as Apple's sci-fi-cri Sugar makes its return. Plus we mull over some of the Pilot shows that have dragged us out of our comfort zone and not only does Kay Ribeiro make her triumphant return to the podcast this week, but Steph drops by as well, making this a rare full house.Note: time stamps are approximate as the ads throw them out, so are only meant as a guide. If you want to avoid this and would like the podcast entirely ad-free (as well as 17 hours early, with a second weekly show and spoiler specials) then sign up to Pilot+!

USAFA - Spirit of 76 - Legacy Project - REPORT! Interviews with the Long Blue Line.
This episode you meet John Mashl who grew up in RI and went to USAFA for engineering, as nav qualified. After suffering a major injury in wrestling class he eventually healed up and received his pilot waiver our Firstie year. Yes, that was against the flow of all our classmates losing their PQ's in that era (including yours truly) but John took it to UPT and flew for over two decades in USAF C-130 squadrons flying rescue and weather missions worldwide. Upon retirement from USAF he landed a pilot slot at Delta, got furloughed for over two years, returned to flying, and finally retired from them after 18 years. John has witnessed and lived through many aviation and life experiences and I'm sure you will be inspired by his story.

When Pam decides it's time to find love again, she signs up for a dating site and soon meets "Pat." He's charming and very kind; they hit it off right away. "Pat" works overseas and can't tell Pam much about his high-security job, but when he needs help getting back into the country, she lends him $20,000. This all sounds very suspicious to Pam's son-in-law, who does some digging and tracks down a man with the same name and face as the man Pam's been talking to nearly every day for several months. The legitimate Pat explains to Pam how a scammer is impersonating him in order to steal money from her. It turns out that Pam is one of many victims who've reached out to the real Pat.
Send us Fan MailNicotine can feel like a cheat code for focus, but the bill shows up later in stress, cravings, and a rising baseline you can't outrun. We sit down with Josh Gunderson, a US Air Force combat pilot who has flown F-15s and F-22s, to talk about what “performance” really costs when your go-to tool is a chemical that spikes cortisol. From 12-hour single-seat missions to long hours studying tactics, Josh explains why nicotine became normal in high intensity communities and why becoming a dad forced a hard reset on health, energy, and longevity. That reset turned into GTG Energy, a nicotine-free pouch built to fit the same real-world habit pattern without chasing a buzz. We dig into what the pouches feel like, how nootropics and adaptogens can support mental clarity and stress resilience, and why “smooth awareness” beats caffeine jitters. Josh also walks us through formulation thinking, dosing for everyday use, and the practical steps he took to prioritize safety, including physician reviews and manufacturing in a facility certified for quality standards. We also zoom out into service and leadership: the different ways to serve in the military, what fighter pilot training and evaluation actually looks like, and why veteran mindset translates so well to entrepreneurship. We close with a blunt take on balance, a simple definition of priority, and a challenge to invest in the next generation with stories that empower instead of divide. If you're trying to quit nicotine, improve focus, or build a healthier performance routine, hit play, then subscribe, share this with a friend, and leave a review.

Tread Perilously's pilot season continues with the first episode of The Art of Being Nick -- the bizarre Family Ties spinoff with one notable star in its cast. When Family Ties guest character Nick Moore moves back to New York to concentrate on his art, he ends up living with his older sister, Marlene, and her young son, Louis. As soon as a job is mentioned, he pushes to work in her bookstore, where he immediately catches the eye of co-owner Rachel. All seems well until Marlene announces she is engaged to Louis's teacher, Bob. Is Louis really okay with it, or will Nick's strange anti-intellectualism reveal the truth? Paul and Corey Cross the Streams' Paul Pakler joins Erik and Justin for a deep dive into the strangest part of Family Ties' history. Paul reveals the history of actor Scott Valentine while Erik discloses the other attempts to spin off the actor and his character. Nick inadvertently demonstrates the gross and unexamined underpinning of the Keatons' real political biases. The age gap between Nick and Mallory also comes into the conversation. The "Tom's Rule" makes its debut. Paul acknowledges the existence of the Bronx Wars. Erik theorizes NBC was looking for Friends for a long time. Julia Louis-Dreyfus easily proves to be the standout in the ensemble and Nick's anti-intellecutal tendencies provide a possible way forward for the series.
Since 2023, illicit financial activity has surged by $1.3 trillion, reaching an estimated $4.4 trillion globally. The reason isn't a mystery: bad actors have AI now too.In this episode of One Vision Podcast, Theodora Lau sits down with Tyler Allen, CEO of Unit21, to unpack what's happening on the front lines of AI-powered fraud. Tyler was Unit21's founding software engineer and he is now leading the company through a moment he calls "have your cake and eat it too": AI is finally cheaper than the human labor it could replace, and unlike humans, it doesn't get alert fatigue. The conversation goes deeper on:• The fundamental asymmetry between attackers and defenders — and why AI made it worse• Why majority of AI pilots fail (hint: it's almost never the technology) • Why AI makes sense for financial crime prevention and detection • What he asks potential buyers, from ownership and goals, to risk tolerance and more • What every FI should be demanding from their AI vendorsA conversation about the new physics of fraud — and the human consequences of getting it wrong.

Pilot whales rely on sound for nearly every aspect of their lives. They use vocalizations to communicate with family members, coordinate movements, find food, and navigate through their environment. But what happens when the ocean becomes so noisy that those sounds are drowned out? In this episode of How to Protect the Ocean, we explore new research suggesting that commercial shipping noise in the Strait of Gibraltar may be interfering with the ability of pilot whales to hear and communicate with one another. The Strait of Gibraltar is one of the busiest shipping routes on the planet, connecting the Atlantic Ocean to the Mediterranean Sea. Every day, hundreds of vessels move through these waters, generating a constant background of underwater noise. Scientists are increasingly concerned that this noise pollution is masking whale calls, forcing animals to change how they communicate and potentially affecting their ability to stay connected with their social groups. For highly social species like pilot whales, losing the ability to communicate effectively could have serious consequences. In this episode, Andrew Lewin breaks down why sound is so important in the ocean, how human activities are changing underwater soundscapes, and what can be done to reduce noise pollution. You'll learn why scientists consider sound an essential part of marine habitat, how quieter ships could help protect marine mammals, and why ocean conservation is about more than just protecting physical spaces. If you've ever wondered how something as invisible as noise can impact whale survival, this episode is for you. Michael Gilpin had an interest aviation at a young age but had never pursued flying. He joined the Army with an option to pursue Officer Candidate School near the end of his college years. Even as he became an officer and started training, he was still in the infantry. But soon he would switch to pilot training - specifically helicopter pilot training. He deployed to Vietnam in 1971 as a Huey pilot bringing Air Cavalry personnel in and out of combat. In this edition of Veterans Chronicles, Col. Gilpin shares his first thoughts of Vietnam and offers more detail on the missions he was part of. He also focuses on two particular missions: one where his Huey crashed and another where he and his team were tasked with helping to rescue American personnel held prisoner by the enemy.Later, Gilpin tells us about the solemn duty he had to meet the remains of a childhood friend and bring them home. And he tells us about the powerful encounter he had in an airport while on that assignment.Plus, he recalls his return to Vietnam decades later and both the positive and negative experiences that came with that trip.
What happens when the "masterpiece" you expected turns out to be just the beginning of a very different journey? In this first part of a special release from the archives, I'm sharing the beginning of my landmark conversation with the legendary Paul McGann. Recorded in May 2020 and originally released in August 2020, this was Paul's first-ever podcast interview. While he has hosted many shows since then, this remains the definitive look at the moment he first "went down the rabbit hole" to discuss his life and career with a fan. To coincide with the 30th anniversary of the 1996 Doctor Who TV movie, Paul shares the story of his childhood Olympic dreams, his "acting family" business, and the "indifference" of show business. We talk about why the fans are the true custodians of the TARDIS and why stories are sometimes the only thing that can save our morale and tip the scales toward kindness. I'm Nancy Norbeck, and I'm your Messy Muse Mentor. I help people feel alive again through creativity, curiosity, and play. In this episode, we discuss: The 2020 Perspective: A snapshot of creative survival recorded in May 2020 during the first months of the pandemic. The Failed Athlete: Why Paul's first ambition wasn't the stage, and how he navigated the "brutality" of not making the cut. The RADA Turning Point: How a "confused kid" who nearly joined the Navy found his way to the Royal Academy. The Custodians of History: Why the fans, not the actors, are the ones who truly look after the Doctor's legacy. When Coast Guard pilot Steve Torpey got called into work on a Friday night back in January, 1998, he had no idea he was heading into the most challenging flight of his career. At that point, two Coast Guard helicopters had already failed to rescue the crew of the sunken fishing vessel La Conte. Torpey's crew — manning the third helicopter — were the stranded fishermen's last hope. Now retired, Steve Torpey joins host Mike Corey to share his memories of that fateful rescue mission. Recorded live at Indiana Comic Convention - Holly Frey and Bryan Young gathered before a live audience to talk about the challenges facing the production of A New Hope, the original Star Wars film as George Lucas worked feverishly to complete the film as Fox got more and more impatient with how over schedule and over budget the film was. Still, he had some decisions to make.

The most common question I get after publishing my last episode about surviving a furlough is “What does Spirit shutting down mean for new pilots?” Today, I will also answer the question of how this affects all pilots at all levels. Talking Points: https://www.alpa.org/press-room/2026/05/spirit-airlines-closure-a-devastating-blow-to-more-than-2000-pilots-thousands-more-workers This news does not affect the new pilots. Thanks to the world cup (and a handful of embargoes), there are only two shows we can cover this week, but that's okay because not only is one of the triumphant return of Game Of Thrones prequel spin-off House Of The Dragon (1:15:43), but the other is Welsh drama The Light In The Hall: Still Waters (1:01:38), which also exists under the Welsh name Y Golau: Dŵr, which James does attempt to say, albeit with a little assistance. Plus Javier Bardem joins us on the show to chat bringing Max Cady back to our screens in Apple's adaptation of Cape Fear (35:07-46:23).Note: time stamps are approximate as the ads throw them out, so are only meant as a guide. If you want to avoid this and would like the podcast entirely ad-free (as well as 17 hours early, with a second weekly show and spoiler specials) then sign up to Pilot+!

The ladies share the full origin story of Office Ladies, reflect on the leap of faith that started it all, and hear from the producers, collaborators, and friends who helped shape the show along the way. Then, for the very first time, they open the vault and share the never-before-heard recording that started everything: the original Office Ladies pilot, recorded in Angela's garage. It's a special, nostalgic, celebration of friendship, creativity, and the incredible community that made 500 million downloads possible. Thank you for being part of the journey.
