Today on the podcast Dr. Wheeler and I discuss the vestibular system: what is it? what role does it play in the body? and how important rehabilitation can be for someone who has a vestibular disorder and/or deficits. Stephanie discusses how a vestibular evaluation can be different from a general post-op or orthopedic injury/deficit. We discuss specifically the most common vestibular disorder treated in the physical therapy field benign proximal positional vertigo (BPPV). We cannot stress enough how important it is to seek help if you have these symptoms, as some symptoms, if BPPV, can be cleared in only a few visits.
