Beloved NY comedian and Tonight Show's resident comic & sketch performer hosts a lively and revealing chat show with some the country's most talented and interesting actors, writers, comedians, musicians etc. These episodes would were recorded off of Instagram live, so the sound isn't perfect and sometimes we are talking people commenting in the comment section live.
Norah Jones is one of America's most beloved singer/songwriters. Everyone knows about her velvet voice and keen sense of rhythms and melodies. We know she's made seven albums, and received 5 Grammy's for the first one alone. However, there's a lot you don't know. Norah and I go deep on her mother's theatrical past, her love for Halloween (and her favorite costumes), her favorite collaborations, all the fake band names they've used over the years. Plus we discuss how she met collaborator Jesse Harris (who would later help her pen many songs) while she was in college and how often chance meetings are the ones that change your life. We recorded this episode on November 17th of 2020, during the pandemic, while we were gearing up for the "second wave." Whether you're a Norah fan or even if you don't know much about her, you will love this episode. We get behind the music and get real with the woman herself and a very easy, fun, and casual way. Tell your friends!
In this episode, Seth gets into with one of America's favorite actor's & personalities, Jerry O'Connell. As Jerry posts up on the streets of LA, they talk about Trump's potential pardons, being dads to twin girls, being stutterers, and Jerry talks about his experience doing a film with friend Justin Long, and little dust up. Justin is watching, and when Jerry signs off, Justin signs on, and tells his side of the story. Then Jerry comes back on the show and has a final rebuttal. It's a wild ride and a lot of fun.
In this inaugural edition of The Sweetest Pod, Seth deconstructs what happened with the attack the Capitol a couple days after it happened (recorded on Friday Jan 8th). While taking in the gravity and severity of the situation, he unmasks these misled marauders for all their faults and what they are truly about. He's joined by actor/comedian, former Army ranger, and Tonight Show's Obama impersonator, DION FLYNN to help shed insight and humor as what happened, who these guys were and what can we do with them now.
As a great second episode, to help launch of "The Sweetest Pod," I chose this very engaging chat between myself and Questlove. This was recorded on May 22nd, 2 months after lockdown began. We normally perform together at the Tonight Show each day, and hadn't seen each for a couple of months, and were excited to catch up and get silly. We very breezly jump between subjects- from the perils of DJing online to my twin babies development to performing live with artists when there is tension to SKA music theories and then Questlove ends with probably the best Stevie Wonder story ever. It's about 40 minutes or pure fun. It goes by fast, so buckle and get ready for the ride.
