In the spring of 2023, I was working for a local MOPAR dealer. On a random day at about 2 p.m., one of the salesmen took a call where the customer asked if we had any allocations for the new Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170. In the car business, dealers can't just get any vehicle they want. The manufacturer allocates, or allows, dealers to order certain numbers of certain vehicles based on the markets and sales in each particular dealership. As the day went on, we received more and more calls asking the same question. Some were from customers; others...Article Link

On this episode Nick discusses the phrase, "you can never know enough, but never know too much". In the fire service, continuous learning is essential. Tactics, building construction, fire behavior, medical response, leadership, and technology are always evolving. No firefighter can ever say they've learned everything — there's always more to understand, train for, and improve upon. As the old saying goes, "the day we know everything is the day we retire".

I met Jill on a Facebook group and appreciated her vulnerability and honesty in our conversation. I consider her a friend and a disability warrior. She discusses her battles with mental health, the chronic pain that comes with it, and also how it constantly fluctuates. She talks about some of her biggest fears, like losing her sight and having to use a wheelchair to get around. Jill is somebody I have a lot of respect for, and even if she can't see it yet, she is a really strong person.
Tune in for a jam-packed Best of the Week episode of the Clay Edwards Show, where we dive into the hottest topics, local controversies, and personal rants with unfiltered commentary! This week, we break down President Trump's bold executive order aiming to slash prescription drug prices by up to 80%—what does it mean for you? We also celebrate Jackson, Mississippi's 50% drop in homicides year-over-year and debate who deserves the credit for this turnaround. Clay doesn't hold back as he tackles Jackson's so-called “lawless” culture, arguing residents have traded safety for chaos and now want their kids in Rankin or Madison County schools. He unpacks the risks of this move and the deeper issues tied to what he calls a “cancerous death culture.” Plus, we compare two local brawls: a gun-pulling fight at Clinton's Santa Fe Grill, where police made quick arrests, versus a chaotic Cinco de Mayo brawl at Jackson's Margarita's Mexican Grill, where Clay calls out JPD Chief Joseph Wade for not cracking down hard enough. On a lighter note, Clay shares a hilarious rant about his name being mistaken for “Dwight” on to-go orders, and recounts a wild radio segment sparked by an Instagram algorithm gone wrong, linking a swingers party to the Diddy trial. He also opens up about his life-changing 4:30 AM wake-up routine, inspired by Cameron Haynes' new book Undeniable, and shares how it's already making waves in his life. Clay reflects on a personal slight from the Mud Monsters, Jackson's new baseball team, who ghosted him after offering a first-pitch opportunity, and celebrates an exclusive interview with X5 podcast host Charlie Reece and rock legend Brett Scallions (formerly of FUEL) about their new country single, “Somewhere They'll Never Know.” Finally, Clay delivers a sobering warning about the quickest way to end up dead in Jackson. Expect raw takes, local insights, and plenty of laughs in this can't-miss episode! Catch it now and join the conversation.

I am so stoked to have had 2 guys I really look up to and admire come on the show this morning, I've been an avid listener of the X5 Podcast for a couple of years now and a OG fan of Brett Scallions and FUEL for nearly 30 years. They came on the show this morning to discuss their new band and their new hit single "Somewhere They'll Never Know".
Join Clay Edwards for a dynamic episode of The Clay Edwards Show on 103.9 FM WYAB, streaming live on SaveJXN platforms. Despite battling a sinus infection, he touches on local issues, including a reported 50% drop in Jackson, Mississippi's murder rate, crediting Capitol Police efforts while questioning the trend's sustainability. Clay also discusses cultural fatigue, referencing Jason Whitlock's commentary on “Black fatigue” and societal dysfunction, sparking a candid conversation about urban culture and accountability. In hour two, Clay interviews Charlie Reese, founder of the X5 Podcast, and Brett Scallions, former Fuel frontman, about their new band's single, Somewhere They'll Never Know. The southern rock/country track, filmed on Alabama's Smith Lake, captures summer vibes and promises to be a feel-good anthem. The duo shares insights on their creative process, plans for two albums, and potential live shows, with Clay pitching a Jackson performance. The episode blends music, pop culture, and raw social commentary, staying true to Clay's unfiltered style.

Teddy Swims' poignant song called "Some Things I'll Never Know" can remind us that we often linger in the past, grappling with the difficulty of not knowing when someone stopped loving us or why something unexpected happened. However, once we process our pain, the desire to understand the unknowable can keep us tethered to our pain and prevent us from moving forward. This is a much-needed rebroadcast reminding us to let go of what we can't know and embrace the road ahead with all its hope and possibilities.
