In this week's episode, we just wanted to catch our listeners up to speed on our brief hiatus. We also ran through some of the big highlights from our summers, such as working summer school, summer adventures, and expectations for the upcoming school year. This episode is a quick hitter!

This week, we welcome Humanities Supervisor, Mr. Scott O. Cumberbatch! He is a 15-year English teacher vet to this teaching game, and is now on his second year as a school administrator! In this episode, he joined us to share his hearth of knowledge on how teachers can facilitate CONTROVERSIAL TOPICS! This means politics, race, religion, sex/gender, and anything else in between!

Thank you all for being patient! Now that Spring Break's over, we tried to bounce back big! This week, Gustavo and I welcomed THREE guests on the pod. Ms. Stephanie Tapia, Ms. Virginia Connor, and Mr. Nathaniel Sanchez! They joined us this week to discuss some of the biggest takeaways and lessons from our teacher education programs at our respective undergraduate colleges. Remember these teacher education programs can be traditional (college program) or untraditional (alternate route). Join us for this encapsulating discussion on pedagogy and some of our best student-teacher memories!

This week, Gustavo and I discussed the intricacies of grading, and by that we mean, the long weekends, the feedback for our students, and so much more. Grading is a harder part of being a teacher, especially when the assignments are long and tedious. But what is the purpose of all these assessments? Is it to measure how much students really know? Were they made to hone in and sharpen the essential skills that students will need in the real world? Or are students allowed to express themselves in ways other than completing a multiple-choice exam? Join us for this in-depth conversation!

This week we welcomed our first guest, Ms. Tana Cambrelen, as we broke down how we see "professionalism" in the world of education. We all discussed our experiences with student/teacher relationships, professional relationships, perceptions of work attire, and more.
