This episode will disseminate the theme 'Family Dynamics' of the "Out of School Time (OST) for Latinx Youth: A Qualitative Research Study in Spartanburg, South Carolina." Join us as we discuss parenting approaches, perceptions of financial stress, the connection to parental expectations of children, and parents' perceptions of lack of safe spaces.

Our motive is to create conversations pointed to the desire for qualitative data to contextualize quantitative data related to both educational outcomes, particularly college access and attainment, and public health, including mental health and teen pregnancy and specifically to the Spartanburg city of South Carolina. This podcast is the dissemination of a report written in 2019, "Out of School Time (OST) for Latinx Youth: A Qualitative Research Study in Spartanburg, South Carolina" Thanks to Wofford College, this podcast was created by Hector Ortiz, Mayra Lomeli-Garcia, Mariana Gonzalez, and Sandra Lopez.
