We are Katie and Olyvia and we are two hilarious millenial comediennes who love self-improvement. Sometimes it’s so easy to buy the book, but do you actually do the work in it? Most of us don’t, so we created this podcast so we can challenge ourselves to do the work, and talk about the struggles alo…
Olyvia's best friend Jared graces us with his presence, because he too has moved back to Colorado, so we discuss what the differences are between big cities like Chicago (where Jared has been pursuing comedy), and New York, and Denver. We decide that Colorado has the best Mexican food, and that we would probably rather have that food than any other food. Other topics include: jobs, and how much they suck, capitalism, and ghosts! We also have a new feature where you can send us voice messages! Please send us one, because it will be really, really fun! Ok love you bye enjoy!
In this tantalizing episode we welcome our first guest, Jack Barton, to the podcast! We talk about sex, love, #metoo, Michael Jackson, leaving the toilet seat up, and our worst dates ever. And we also plug this incredibly talented and Flynn Rider-esque man and his band and all of the fabulous things he does. Follow Jack’s band on Instagram @thebartonbrothers follow him on Spotify under The Barton Brothers and Lake Isabel, and visit his website at www.thebartonbros.com for truly great music and tunes! Don’t forget to slide into his DM’s!
Katie and Olyvia read their Angel Tarot cards, to see what the future holds... but before that they catch each other up on some big life events. Katie had a job interview, and Olyvia got an apartment, finally! They also talk about how hard it is when you have depression, and if you too are suffering, you should seek treatment, maybe an anti-depressant, and if the first one doesn't work, you can always try another one. There's even a test online you can take to see if you're depressed! Follow this link: https://bit.ly/2HH7y9c And if you are having suicidal thoughts, call: 1-800-273-8255 Or text HOME to 741-741 for the crisis text line.
Katie challenges and also helps Olyvia to buy groceries and cook a recipe. It doesn't seem like any of it is enjoyable to Olyvia, we probably didn't have a breakthrough there. Isn't it annoying that most of the food that is readily available has no nutritional content? The real reason Katie thought that cooking is an important skill, is just because most things are filled with sugar and preservatives and carcinogens, oh my! Olyvia gets through it, and Katie breathes heavily in to the mic (sorry). Katie had a tough assignment in her data analytics class (where my data analysts at?!?!), and she hopes to live another day in it.
Olyvia helps Katie prepare for a mock interview, that Katie has the next day through her online school. Katie continues to hypothesize that she has Asperger's, hence why she only seems to get worse at interviewing for jobs, and not better. Olyvia reassures Katie that she took a test, and does not have Asperger's. Please note the requisite mention of the movie Titanic is also discussed, as well as other works by Leonardo DiCaprio.
Katie and Olyvia decide that because online dating is one of the seven circles of hell, a good way to approach it would be to talk to suitors for each other.
In this episode, join Katie and Olyvia as they discuss their relationships with food, snooty family members, and their Gynecologists.
In this inaugural episode, we read You Are a Badass At Making Money by Jen Sincero and discuss goals, habits, money, and as alway the Titanic.
