Suzanne Roussin, Regan Wann, Amy Brooks and Matt McGaughey share stories in our first trip to St. Louis.
Our March 11, 2015 episode features the theme of "The Park," and we had some fantastic storytellers step up to the dais to share their 'park' tales. Christopher Harrison recounts a horrifyingly funny late-night potty-break misadventure. Performance artist Erin Renee Roberts, AKA Terra Josephine describes love and life through spoken word and motion. Returning speaker Nick Drago shares another riveting story from his memoir "Use Once then Destroy." Recurring musical guest Matt McGaughey sings and plays some more wonderful original tunes. Teya King raises the tavern roof (and has the entire audience in hysterics) with her story about seeing aurora borealis for the first time.
This month's theme is "I'm Standing Right Here" and features original music by Matt McGaughey, story and poetry by Teya King and introducing Xiomara Jimenez with an inspiring story of survival and self-journey.
"So..." Stories of Life is pleased to add another dimension to our award-winning podcast: interviews with the storytellers and performers who contribute to our show. We introduced Matt McGaughey during our Jan. 2015 episode of "So...," titled: "Fresh Starts" (and other terrifying adventures). His read was memorable, his story enthralling. His interview in-depth, honest and completely poignant. Listen in to a story about growing up in the fringe, love, loss and longing - and accepting change.
The award-winning podcast, "So..." Stories of Life, returns to the Tavern of Fine Arts in Saint Louis after a brief hiatus to celebrate the art of storytelling through spoken word, poetry, short plays, music and performance. This month we feature a talented newcomer to our podcast, Matt McGaughey, with his personal and memorable story of family dynamics and longing. Also featured is one of our favorite spoken word artists, the ferociously unique Susan Trowbridge Adams, a powerhouse poet and speaker.
