North Korea is closely watching the situation in Venezuela after the U.S. captured President Nicolás Maduro, shaking up one of Pyongyang's few political friendships in the Western Hemisphere. In this episode, Gabriela Bernal and Camilo Aguirre Torrini delve into what happened in Venezuela, how North Korea has reacted in state media and what lessons Kim Jong Un may be drawing. The guests discuss why the DPRK-Venezuela relationship has been more symbolic than substantial, how sanctions and a shared anti-American ideology have shaped ties and what the future could look like if Caracas shifts further under U.S. influence. Dr. Gabriela Bernal is a North Korea analyst and non-resident fellow at the European Centre for North Korean Studies who writes on Pyongyang's external relations and information strategy. She recently wrote an analysis for NK Pro titled “Where North Korea-Venezuela ties stand after Nicolás Maduro's downfall.” Dr. Camilo Aguirre Torrini is a researcher whose work traces DPRK-Latin America ties and sanctions-era politics. He previously wrote a piece for 38 North titled “Can Venezuela and the DPRK Wipe the Slate Clean and Make a Fresh Start?” About the podcast: The North Korea News Podcast is a weekly podcast hosted by Jacco Zwetsloot exclusively for NK News, covering all things DPRK — from news to extended interviews with leading experts and analysts in the field, along with insight from our very own journalists.

In this episode of The Fresh Start Family Show, Wendy invites parents into a powerful reset, one that goes far beyond New Year's resolutions. She explores how fresh starts are created through intention, nervous system safety, and the courage to imagine something better for your family. Wendy unpacks why misbehavior is often a signal, not a problem, and how breaking generational cycles begins with understanding what's happening beneath the surface, for both parents and kids. You'll hear how collective energy, community support, and regulation-first parenting can help you move from reactive patterns into more peace, joy, and connection at home. This episode is a grounding, hopeful reminder that it's never too late to rewire old habits, rebuild trust, and create family dynamics that truly feel good. If you're ready to reset your parenting approach and start the year with clarity and confidence, this conversation will meet you right where you are. Here we are, at the start of a new year. How is it going for you? How does it feel to start fresh? Beginning something new can feel exhilarating. After all, anything is possible, all is new. But being a beginner can also feel intimidating and overwhelming. After all anything is possible, all is new. In today’s episode, I want to talk about what it means to be a beginner (as in: someone who begins again and again) and why it matters so much. Whether you’re in the “working my resolutions for the new year” camp or the “new years is an arbitrary marker on a man-made calendar camp,” I invite you into the newness of this day, of everyday. I invite you to see yourself as a beginner. Using the Breakup Life Wheel (or Bigger & Better Life Wheel), you'll learn how to assess where you actually are, identify what needs attention now, and turn that insight into three clear intentions with concrete actions you can take in real life. We'll also land on a single word for 2026 that anchors your decisions and gives you direction when motivation wavers. Fresh Start: What Are You Ready to Let Go of in 2026?A fresh start isn't about pressure, resolutions, or reinventing yourself overnight. It's about intention. As a new year begins, this episode invites you to pause and reflect on what you're ready to release — not just from your home, but from your life.Decluttering is often framed as getting rid of things, but at its heart, it's about recognising changing seasons. The person you were five or ten years ago may not be who you are now, and your home should reflect the life you're actually living. When it doesn't, clutter can quietly build — not because you've failed, but because your environment hasn't caught up with your growth. This episode explores the many forms clutter can take. It might be physical items like clothes that no longer fit your body or lifestyle, hobby supplies for interests you've outgrown, or furniture and décor that no longer feels like you. It might also be unfinished projects, side hustles that once made sense but no longer serve you, or belongings tied to expectations you've since released. There's also space to acknowledge emotional clutter. Items connected to grief, change, or past versions of yourself can be especially hard to navigate. Letting go doesn't erase meaning or memories — it simply allows you to choose what you carry forward with intention. As you look ahead to 2026, consider asking: What kind of life am I creating, and what kind of home will support that? You don't need to declutter everything at once. One thoughtful decision can create momentum. One cleared space can bring relief.A fresh start is built slowly, gently, and with freedom in mind. When your home reflects who you are becoming, it becomes a place that supports you — not one that holds you back. You may also like to listen to these episodes:Because. Really. The start of a new year feels like the perfect time to reset and refocus. This often takes the form of New Year's resolutions. There is a great power in making a clear statement about what you want and why you want it. The problem is (and I'm sure you have experienced this yourself), simply making a resolution does not guarantee success. That's why the first Friday of January is often referred to as Quitter's Day because it is when most people ditch their resolutions. Making the decision for a fresh start is not the problem. Thinking a resolution is enough is the problem. To achieve positive change in the new year we need a structure that supports our growth and clears any emotional resistance in the way of our goals. This week in the podcast I share a simple process that will shift you from toothless New Year's resolutions into creating meaningful change. Listen to learn how to create a compelling goal that you can buy into emotionally AND a simple process to help you to tap for all the resistance that comes up. Ten minutes of tapping a day will create a whole new world for you. Support the podcast! While the world focuses on temporal self improvement, Christians are called to a higher pursuit. In this episode, Dr. Richard Caldwell and host Josh Philpot discuss how to approach the New Year with biblical wisdom. They explore the dangers of presumptuous planning as warned against in James 4 and the supreme value of knowing God as described in Jeremiah 9. The discussion highlights the importance of daily Bible reading, finding purpose in mundane obedience, and leaving a spiritual legacy for the next generation.

Matt and Oren are pulling together their year-end recap posts for social media. And they realize, “wow, there's a lot to reflect upon!”LA is definitely enjoying a resurgence, of sorts. And while more productions are shooting in LA, a lot has changed over the past few years. And everything isn't rosy.So if you're wondering what's the right type of year-end social media recap, or what you should post that will win over the right people, then you won't want to miss this episode!Matt and Oren have some diverging opinions Like what you ask? Well…sure, it's cool to show your working and always on set. But if you only celebrate your own wins, are you being tone-deaf to the struggle it takes to get those opportunities? And what are some ways to make it more human?Matt and Oren look at it this way. You have to post something intriguing so people who can hire you have you top of mind when the right gig comes. But what should you focus on? Tagging people? The best of your best? Family? Something else? Finally, with the industry in its December-January slow-period, Matt's been thinking about setting goals and starting new habits. And Oren shares why this time of the year is ideal for some deep internal probing.---Help our Patreon! https://www.patreon.com/JustShootItPodMatt's Endorsement: 1. Moviemaker magazine. 2. In this grounded solo episode, Emily shares five transformative truths to support you at the edge of any new season, identity shift, or fresh start. Whether you're beginning a new habit, exploring a mindset change, considering a business pivot, or simply feeling the pull toward growth in the new year, these insights offer clarity, encouragement, and direction.Emily unpacks why we often overcomplicate new beginnings, how perfectionism disguises fear, and why small, simple steps are far more powerful than grand plans. She explores the role of fear in personal evolution, the importance of getting out of your head and into conversation, and how lived experience prepares you for whatever you're stepping into next. This episode is a reminder that meaningful change is nonlinear, intuitive, and deeply personal, a refreshing alternative to “New Year, New You” pressure. If you're craving practical mindset support and grounded guidance for your next chapter, this conversation will meet you right where you are.In this episode, I explore:Why new beginnings feel overwhelming, and how perfectionism, over-planning, and pressure often mask fear rather than support real change. How to simplify your first steps so you can build momentum without needing a full plan, strategy, or end vision before you begin. The role of fear in personal growth, including fear of failure, fear of success, fear of judgment, and why fear often shows up even when a path is aligned. The power of community and conversation in gaining clarity, and why you can't evolve, pivot, or create solely in your head. How your lived experience prepares you for new seasons, identity shifts, and fresh starts even when you don't feel “qualified.”Why waiting for permission keeps you stuck, and how cultivating self-trust becomes the true turning point for any transformation.Real examples from coaching conversations, cyclical living, identity work, and your own Wild & Waking journey that illustrate how change actually unfolds in everyday life.A grounded alternative to New Year pressure, offering a more intuitive, sustainable, and compassionate way to approach personal growth in January and beyond.Be sure to hit subscribe so you never miss the latest episode!Connect with Emily:Website: www.EmilyReuschel.comInstagram: @emilyreuschelFacebook: Emily ReuschelLinkedIn: Emily ReuschelJoin my Book Insiders List: Sign up here!Resources and Links:Sign up here to get the inside scoop to my book writing journey!Book me as a speaker for your next event - email inquiries to emilyreuschel@gmail.com or schedule a call hereWild & Waking – Produced by Jill Carr Podcasting | Learn More

#2821 Day 3: Breathing Meditation to Visualize a Fresh Start - "Refresh: A Gentle Reset for a Brand New Year Meditations"

Today, you're guided with a calming breathing technique to create the fresh start you've been craving—not through pressure or perfection, but through presence. This guided practice helps you slow your nervous system, clear mental noise, and gently open the inner space where clarity lives. We'll begin with a simple breath pattern you can return to anytime you feel rushed or overwhelmed, then move into a visualization designed to help you feel what a clean-slate moment is like in your body: lighter, steadier, and more aligned. From there, you'll be guided to imagine your next steps unfolding naturally—evolving at your own pace—so your growth feels sustainable, grounded, and true to you. You'll leave this episode with a refreshed mind, a calmer body, and a clear inner reminder: you don't have to force your life forward. You can breathe your way into what's next. This is day 3 of a 7-day meditation series, "Refresh: A Gentle Reset for a Brand New Year,"  episodes 2819-2825. ABOUT THIS WEEK'S MEDITATION JOURNEY: THIS WEEK'S CHALLENGE - "A Brand New Approach" This week's challenge offers you a way to experience a life refresh. You're invited to do something every day to uplevel your life in some way. You might select one area of your life to focus on refreshing. Think about what you have been putting off doing for yourself. This is the week to begin honoring yourself again. THIS WEEK'S MEDITATION JOURNEY  Day 1:  Refresh Visualization Day 2:  Affirmation: "I evolve at my own pace." Day 3:  Visualization Breath Day 4:  Tattva mudra for self-expression Day 5:  Fifth Chakra for inner truth Day 6:  Refresh Flow meditation, combining the week's techniques Day 7:  Weekly review meditation and closure Welcome to this special series: Refresh — a gentle, powerful reset for the start of a brand new year. If you've been craving that clean-slate feeling—not just on your calendar, but inside your mind and in the way you live—this is for you. Because a new year isn't only a date. It's an invitation. To clear what's been cluttering your inner space… to come back to what matters… and to choose how you want to feel as you move forward. Over the next seven episodes, we're going to refresh seven key areas of your life—not with pressure, perfection, or a long list of goals… but with inner clarity. Think of this series like opening the windows of your life and letting fresh air move through every room. Each day, we'll focus on one area—simple, practical, and deeply supportive. You'll be guided through: a short, grounding insight to create perspective a few reflective prompts to clarify what's true for you right now and a calming meditation to help you integrate the shift—so this becomes something you feel, not just something you think about This isn't about fixing yourself. You're not behind. You don't need to become someone else to have a meaningful year. This is about coming home to yourself—and gently updating the way you live, so your days match the person you're becoming. So wherever you are—making coffee, sitting in your car, walking outside, or curled up in a quiet corner—take a breath and let this be your beginning. Welcome to your refresh. Let's start the year with clarity… and create a life that feels clean, aligned, and truly yours. SHARE YOUR MEDITATION JOURNEY WITH YOUR FELLOW MEDITATORS Let's connect and inspire each other!
