In today's episode, I'm sharing why micro retreats have become one of my favorite tools for resetting my mind and body in this busy season of life and we talk about how can me make micro retreats in our day to day life. Instead of waiting for a full weekend away, I've been focusing on small moments during the day to pause, breathe, and recharge. These quick resets can make a huge difference in how we show up for workouts, motherhood, and everything else on our plates. I'm also sharing some updates inside Glow, my fitness membership including new features in Flow that make it easier to stay consistent and find what you need. You'll also hear:• Why micro retreats can help regulate your nervous system and support recovery• The new clickable calendar and monthly recipes now available inside Glow• Why this month we're focusing on glutes to build strength and support longevity in Glow• Why strength training after 30 is essential for maintaining muscle and aging well• How Momentum Week is now evergreen, so you can start whenever you need a reset If you've been feeling overwhelmed or like you need a small reset, this episode is your reminder that sometimes the most powerful changes come from the smallest pauses. Money can feel like one of those topics that's super heavy… even when you want to be a good steward. In Part 1 of this conversation, we sit down with Amanda Texera, co-founder of Wallet Win, to talk about money through a Catholic lens—without shame, without extremes, and without the “girlboss” energy that often leaves women feeling more stressed than before.Amanda shares her own story (including a very real honeymoon money moment

When life feels overwhelming and you don’t know which way to turn, how do you start your day with peace and hope? In this episode of Every Day Joy, Ash Couchman reflects on Psalm 143:8 - “Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life.” Ash unpacks how this simple morning prayer from David can shift the way we face each day — from striving in our own strength to resting in God’s unfailing love. She shares a personal story about learning to pause, encounter God’s presence, and draw encouragement from His love before the day begins. If you’ve been feeling weary, uncertain, or disconnected, this heartfelt reminder will encourage you to slow down, breathe, and start your day anchored in the assurance of God’s love and guidance.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
The NFL offseason is heating up with quarterback rumors, free agency speculation, trade predictions, and bold roster changes heading into the 2026 season. Just like NFL teams searching for the right quarterback, we all have to ask:What am I looking for? What do I truly need?In this episode we ask:
Today's Luke sequence begins with a miracle and ends with a parable, but parable is present from the beginning. The featured friends believe and care deeply enough to take dramatic action to bring a friend to Jesus. We can do the same with and for those we love, family or friend. Jesus' display of power and compassion continues in us and others. We are called to witness with wonder & awe. Levi, like Peter, sets an example of immediate full following of Jesus, telling everyone he knows about it. Our new walk with Jesus in His kingdom is not something to add to our life. It is our life. He is our life. Pass it on. To investigate this most important of stories further, go here.
Send a textA clean cut can change more than your reflection. I share how shaving my head became a reset ritual that pulled me out of mental fog and into a season of clarity, gratitude, and forward motion. From the cultural weight of symbolic change to the daily choices that reinforce identity, we dig into how small, visible cues can unlock real momentum in creativity, fitness, and mindset. On the mat, that clarity helped me earn a new stripe and simplify my jiu-jitsu with high-percentage moves, tighter decisions, and calmer breathing. The same approach powered my workouts and recovery, turning consistency into confidence. At the desk, I reopened old joke files and saw clean edits everywhere—shorter setups, quicker punches, sharper premises. The throughline is simple: remove noise, focus on fundamentals, and let small wins stack into sustainable progress.I also talk about refusing the doom loop. Instead of reliving what went wrong, I keep my attention on who I'm building. The shaved head isn't an identity; it's a reminder—show up, keep it honest, trust the work. If you've been stuck or scattered, consider a visible cue you can commit to, something that nudges you toward the person you want to be. Nobody wants war but after nearly 50 years of killing Americans and chanting "Death to America" it was eventually going to happen with Iran and their radical, oppressive regime. In an incredible show of military precision and strengh, Iran's leaders were taken out and their military operations have been pounded and are in chaos. To be sure, President Trump did exactly what he said he would do. He said it on the campaign trail, he warned them publicy and then he did it. If this somehow creates peace in the middle east, it will be his crowning achievement. A Kansas City mega church pastor is planning to run for US Senate and he's certainly well known. But not always for the reasons you may like. Andy Reid couldn't make it to the NFL Combine this year recovering from a knee procedure but he sure is upbeat about rebuilding his football team. KU gets beaten up pretty good in Arizona. Mizzou rolls and has a great shot at finishing 4th or higher in the SEC. Carter Jensen goes deep for the Royals. The Cardinals are discounting all you can eat tickets this year and Tyler Reddick wins for the third week in a row in the NASCAR Cup Series.... to start the season! And something is just a little fishy about our Final Final today.

Happy new year to my friends from Just Plain Dave. I have started experimenting with a new podcast recording app and I'm putting this out there to see how well it goes. We are celebrating one year with our with Nova dog in our family, plus a brief recap of the Rhode Island Trail challenge. We are having a very cold and snowy winter. It's great for skiers and snowboarders but a real challenge for those of us trying to run the trails.
New goals, new year, the next phase...doesn't automatically create new results. It feels good; I mean who doesn't love a new planner and a clean slate? But without real change, they often lead right back to the same patterns, the same habits, and the same outcomes. In this episode of Life at Ten Tenths, Matt and Garrett break down why you don't need a fresh start, you need new standards, clearer awareness, and a willingness to act differently than you have before. This conversation moves past motivation and into something far more practical: understanding why last year unfolded the way it did, and what actually has to change for the next one to look different. In this episode, we discuss:Why fresh starts often fail without identity changeThe difference between setting goals and changing standardsHow repeating the same behaviors recreates the same yearWhy awareness matters more than motivationHow to use past results as data—not judgmentWhat it really takes to create lasting changeThis episode isn't about starting over. It's about breaking the cycle.

"A fibro-friendly, fresh start isn't about staying on track forever. It's about gently correcting your trajectory when things drift off." - Tami Stackelhouse Fresh starts are supposed to feel hopeful, but with fibromyalgia, they can feel heavy instead. The start of a new year brings many of us pressure to get it together, do better, and somehow reset everything at once, even when we're already exhausted. Then, when our bodies don't cooperate the way the plan expected them to, we start wondering what's wrong with us. The truth is, most fresh start advice isn't made for fibro bodies. They have quiet assumptions of consistent energy, predictable capacity, and unlimited willpower. But when your nervous system is sensitive, and your energy fluctuates, pushing harder usually makes things worse, not better. A fibro-friendly fresh start looks different. It's gentle, flexible, and based on today's reality, not who you wish you were. Small steps, compassionate restarts, and creating space for healing often matter far more than motivation or perfection. In this episode, Tami shares what a fibro-friendly fresh start looks like and why discipline-based plans don't work for those of us with chronic illness. She explains why discipline-based plans fail for people with fibromyalgia, how the just-do-it mindset activates our threat response and worsens fibro symptoms, why it's not your fault when fresh starts fail, what a fibro-friendly fresh start looks like, why small steps matter more than motivation, recognizing that rest and space are essential for healing, checking in with yourself and choosing one realistic next step, letting go of perfectionism and rules about productivity, focusing on one small change at a time, how to restart gently when things go off track, why kindness is the key to sustainable progress, why rest is not a reward, personalizing your fresh start instead of copying what works for others, understanding your Fibromyalgia Wellness Style℠ and what fits you, why long-term planning can be hard with fibromyalgia, how getting a little better every day adds up over time, and more. Note: This episode is not meant to be medical advice. Every person and every situation is unique. The information you learn in this episode should be shared and discussed with your own healthcare providers. To learn more about the resources mentioned in this episode, visit the show notes. So Much More: Creating Space for God (Lectio Divina and Scripture Meditation)
This is a guided meditation and reflection on all of Psalm 32. Psalm 32 starts with the reminder of the joy we should know because of the fresh start and a clean slate we’ve been given through Jesus. Have we forgotten how amazing and miraculous his work is in our lives? This Psalm also reminds us that hiding sin in secret places will eat us up from the inside out. The amazing news is – when we bring anything hiden into the light, God renews and receives us. Did you catch that? Every single time you turn back to God, he receives you. Every. Single. Time. He does not tire of our returns, he celebrates them. In this meditation, we will listen to Psalm 32 from the Message Translation and I will give you prompts to reflect on with the Lord. Each reflection space in 1 minute long. Feel free to pause or rewind if you need more time. May the Lord guide you to what he has for you through his Word today. Here are the reflection prompts: Consider, what would your life be like without Jesus? Thank God that through Jesus he has given you a clean slate. Recall a time when you were hiding from God and others and how it felt. When you returned to God and stopped hiding from others, how did that feel? Thank him for his mercy. Bring it forward to today… is there any place in your life that you feel you are hiding from God or others? If so, what’s holding you back from bringing it to the light? Ask God if there is any place in your life where you’re being ornery like a horse or a mule and resisting him. If he reveals anything, Ask him for his help. If nothing comes to mind, ask him to help you stay tender and responsive to his leading. Praise God for the truth that you are loved every time you turn around. If there’s a place that God has shown you where you need to turn around, ask God for his help. And remember you will be received with love. The passages we meditated on is as follows: Psalm 32, The Message Count yourself lucky, how happy you must be— you get a fresh start, your slate’s wiped clean. 2 Count yourself lucky— God holds nothing against you and you’re holding nothing back from him. 3 When I kept it all inside, my bones turned to powder, my words became daylong groans. 4 The pressure never let up; all the juices of my life dried up. 5 Then I let it all out; I said, “I’ll make a clean breast of my failures to God.” Suddenly the pressure was gone— my guilt dissolved, my sin disappeared. 6 These things add up. Every one of us needs to pray; when all hell breaks loose and the dam bursts we’ll be on high ground, untouched. 7 God’s my island hideaway, keeps danger far from the shore, throws garlands of hosannas around my neck. 8 Let me give you some good advice; I’m looking you in the eye and giving it to you straight: 9 “Don’t be ornery like a horse or mule that needs bit and bridle to stay on track.” 10 God-defiers are always in trouble; God-affirmers find themselves loved every time they turn around. 11 Celebrate God. Sing together—everyone! All you honest hearts, raise the roof! Discover more Christian podcasts at lifeaudio.com and inquire about advertising opportunities at lifeaudio.com/contact-us.

Behavioral scientists have been exploring whether a psychological reset can lead to lasting change. In this update of a 2021 episode, we survey evidence from the London Underground, Major League Baseball, and New Year's resolutions to look at accidental fresh starts, forced fresh starts, fresh starts that backfire — and the ones that succeed.
