We are back! And who knew? Well, we did, obviously! In this introduction we tell you all about what to expect from series 2, and, there's food, of course!

In this edition of the podcast we are chatting with Chris Logan of The Rising, talking about the trials and tribulations of being an independent artist and all of the work that it entails to be as professional as possible.

In episode 8 we start be exploring the use of sex in selling country music, specifically women. Are they being exploited or is it actually just playing into the hands of men? From there we move to Facebook, Spotify & social media in general. Do the quantity of 'likes' or 'follows' matter or is it the quality? Do people follow or like based on an image, rather than the music? As always we mange to talk about food and theres some chaos, lets be honest, it wouldn't be Charlotte and Simon if it were all sensible, would it?

We have been made aware of a number of concerns that people have raised about a couple of episodes and our opinions. We thought we would take the opportunity in this (additional) episode to give our replies to those and also apologise for any offence caused in the past. As is always the way, we manage to squeeze food and drink into the podcast! This was recorded on Tuesday 23rd June and we recieved a review on Thursday evening/Friday morning which we also wanted to address, so there is additional content after the first ending jingle! Specifically the need, or possibly lack of need for radio pluggers and what is the best way to promote your music, charts (iTunes) or streams (Spotify)?

We also discuss the importance of professionalism both in terms of the promo material, a scheduled and planned campaign and getting your music played on credible country music radio shows and/or stations.

The journey starts...To kick off the series in earnest Charlotte and Simon discuss What is Country Music? As you might expect this created a number of points for debate and when it came to marshmallows and gnomes they fell out!!
