She highlights the need for managing expectations regarding the time it takes to see results from upper funnel investments and the significance of understanding the entire consumer journey, which begins before a customer even visits a website. Geeta also addresses the challenges of creating cohesive consumer experiences across multiple touchpoints, and the art of storytelling in marketing, advocating for a more integrated approach to engaging consumers. The podcast explores the intricacies of digital marketing, focusing on the importance of landing pages, user journeys, and the role of AI in enhancing marketing strategies. European Green Transition PLC (AIM:EGT) founder and non-executive chairman Cathal Friel talked with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about his formal move into the non-executive chairman role and the company's strategy going forward. Friel shared how European Green Transition (EGT) aims to build value by acquiring distressed yet revenue-generating assets, a model he has successfully applied with previous companies such as Amryt Pharma and hVIVO. “Our model going forward is to acquire low-priced, distressed, good value assets, bolt them together,” he said, emphasising the need for revenue-generating components or the capacity to make acquisitions profitable from day one. He reflected on EGT's IPO in April 2024 and his transition from other responsibilities, including his long tenure with hVIVO. With that chapter closed, he now brings more focus to EGT's growth. Friel confirmed that the company still holds the majority of the £6.5 million raised, having only used a small portion on its rare earth asset in Sweden. Monetising that asset remains a priority. EGT's strategy continues to centre on small teams, tight cost control, and targeting multi-fold returns over a 24-month horizon. “I'll be very careful of [the shareholders'] cash. It's like mine,” Friel added. Visit Proactive's YouTube channel for more interviews. James Cridland is the editor of Podnews and a radio futurologist— a writer, consultant, and public speaker on radio's future. We discuss the BBC's Annual Plan, its financial challenges, the impending changes to BBC Sounds' international access, the intricate challenges of rights management, potential revenue streams, and the delicate balance between public service broadcasting and commercial imperatives. “The only change going on here is that we're getting rid of the BBC Sounds app, and you have to use the not-very-good-as-a-replacement bbc.com/audio. So, if you're using a smart speaker or TuneIn, then, reading that paragraph, you would expect that you will still be able to have a listen, which is brilliant. But they've kind of hidden that under a bushel. Hey Lifers!Britt has potentially found a new life... as a trad wife! Either that or she's going off grid more often.Laura has had a bit of a mishap spreading her beautiful grandparent's ashes. How do you feel about sharing your kids online? Where is the line when it comes to kids being paid to create online content? You might remember the horrible story of the mum, Ruby Franke, who was charged with 4 counts of child abuse earlier this year. There is a brand new film called 'Mormon Mom Gone Wrong' that came out on Oct 26 that details the story of the Franke family and their youtube account that had 2 million subscribers.Shari Franke is now 21 years old and has shared her testimony in court about her experiences of abuse and family vlogging. She states that there is no such thing as a moral and ethical family vlogger. We unpack these questions: Should children have a say in family vlogging content? What are the ethical implications of involving kids in content? Can you get informed consent from kids? How should kids be ‘compensated' if they are making content that makes money? Does it matter if they make money? Does it change when it becomes a significant income source? Steel may exist as a critical product in today's global economy, but it's also a significant source of carbon emissions. What kind of a role could green steel play in the path towards net zero? In this week's podcast, Ehsan Khoman, Head of Research – Commodities, ESG and Emerging Markets (EMEA), delves into this theme, wherein he discusses why green hydrogen-based steel – a market that already exists in Europe and will likely be made more attractive with the EU's Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism – may offer a key route for the monetisation of the Middle East's unparalleled renewables prospects. Podcast Summit Kane and Ash interview Yvonne Tchrakian about launching a successful podcast in just two months through manifestation and taking action. Yvonne shares how she overcame tragedy, got a sponsor with no episodes out, and managed it all while juggling 4 kids under 5 and a high-powered legal career. Her high-energy attitude will motivate you to get started on anything you've been putting off this year! KEY TAKEAWAYS Manifest your goals by getting clear on what you want, believing it's possible, visualising the outcome, taking action daily, and expressing gratitude. You're manifesting either going for your goals or just cruising through life, so raise your positive vibration no matter where you're at. Become a decision maker, take imperfect action over delayed perfection, and learn as you go. Progress compounds. Ask for what you want from potential sponsors or partners, back yourself, leverage relationships, and get creative vs boring ads. Share your authentic self on social media, especially on strategic platforms like LinkedIn, to build your personal brand. When grieving or struggling, develop daily gratitude, simplify achievements into steps, and find accountability partners. BEST MOMENTS "If you're not going to do it now, you're never going to do it." "I always tell people, imagine, think about what you want to manifest in your life, whether it's a baby, a soulmate, the dream job, the car, whatever it is, imagine you've been given it. Like imagine you guys are manifesting your podcast." "I've always been like that. It was the same for my wedding. Right on one dress. I was like, that's it. You've got to know what you want." "People think, oh my god, she's doing it all. She's a corporate lawyer, she's got four kids, she's doing a podcast. But nothing is done to a hundred per cent." "Some people are just born doers, right? So, we've just ran one of our three-day trainings... and there's a few people that by lunchtime's like I've got two of the biggest names in our industry that have committed!" What are the best ways to monetise your video content? In this episode, Ash and Kane compare two of the biggest video platforms right now, YouTube -vs TikTok. They talk about the advantages of using an established platform such as YouTube but also the differences between YouTube and the more dynamic TikTok and what each has to offer creators. KEY TAKEAWAYS It's harder to reach the threshold on YouTube to use its monetisation tools, The major downside of TikTok is you don't always get access to the partner programme unless you consistently hit the threshold. With YouTube, once you have hit it once then it's lifetime. It's 10-20 times easier to get big views on TikTok, meaning it can be consistently easier but if you can put the work in long-term then you will earn much more on YouTube once you hit their threshold. Ensure your content is at least 1 minute 5 seconds on TikTok as it has this tendency to cut off the end of your video. Don't artificially lengthen your content, as this will mean people will stop watching and impact your overall views. Your Editor should be able to use your content to create something that is both long enough and quality content so people don't switch off. Those who have very good production with an editor will see the difference in monetisation as they will be able to keep the audience engaged and interested in their content. BEST MOMENTS “The first year of YouTube is a slog” “It's easier to get millions of views on TikTok” “As soon as I open the TikTok app my attention span drops by 50%” “If you can evoke emotion whether its laugh cry, or controversy people are more likely to engage and its more likely to go viral” “AI is now very good at replicating what is already working” "The content is the main thing which is why your podcast should be your focus" VALUABLE RESOURCES Website EPISODES TO CHECK OUT NEXT Podcast Production - The Cost of the Wrong Choice How to Launch a Number 1 Podcast - Part 1 ABOUT THE HOSTS Kane Baron & Ashley Morris run the UK's first and largest Podcast Agency, Progressive Media. Free Webinar | https://bit.ly/podcastpowr Kane and Ash discuss how to approach the world of podcasting as a newbie and the right attitudes and mindsets to have to find success. If you are apprehensive or anxious about starting your podcast and releasing your content into the world, this episode is for you, it will challenge your preconceptions and alter your perception of podcasting! KEY TAKEAWAYS It's not embarrassing if no one listens to your podcast to start with, no one knows your numbers. Negative reviews on podcast platforms are very rare, so don't be frightened when releasing content. If you have content that can help people, you are doing those people a disservice by not releasing it. Monetising a podcast isn't just about ads and sponsorship, if you are getting referrals and clients via your podcast that is monetisation. Consistent numbers mean you have a diehard following. You don't need thousands of listeners, you just need a dedicated and loyal audience. BEST MOMENTS “People don't say anything when they're happy” “It's different people who listen to podcasts than most people who consume social media” “With the right guidance you can make a lot of money through it, sponsorship isn't the only way to monetise your podcast” “Numbers on a screen, they don't really mean anything” “Don't doubt yourself, don't compare yourself to others, comparison is the thief of joy” VALUABLE RESOURCES Podcast Production - The Cost of the Wrong Choice How to Launch a Number 1 Podcast - Part 1 Free Podcast Workshop https://tinyurl.com/Podhelp ABOUT THE HOSTS Kane Baron, Ashley Morris & Thom Luter manage over 150 live podcasts Including Rob Moore, Kevin Clifton, Shaa Wasmand MBE & more. The founder of Narrative, Nick Jordan, joins Ryan in this episode. He talks about what made him enter the world of entrepreneurship after previously working at global tech companies Adobe and Yahoo. He then talks through his solution, why so many companies are missing out on the value of data right now and his highly-effective referral-based growth strategy. KEY TAKEAWAYS Narrative has a mixed growth strategy. Focusing on both their enterprise sales team and referrals. Nick hadn't always dreamt of starting his own company, he knew the work involved from watching his father create his own business. But 5 years ago, he wanted to fix the problems he had been seeing in data. Every company assumes they have enough data to be able to utilise it effectively to drive results. But this isn't the case, they often have gaps in data sets and a lack of knowledge of how to make their data useful If you can get the right data at scale you can generate trust and a lifetime lifestyle brand. If you collect the right data you can look at supply chain optimisation and shopping basket analysis, using it to aid growth via ancillary products and add-ons. Narrative can often feel like a marketplace, they are ‘the pipes' that make it easier for people to work together. This is what enabled their referral-based growth strategy; they work with both sides of the market. If you make things easier and more efficient for both sides of a marketplace, this means that they want to use your software outside of your marketplace to make other areas of their business easier too. Narrative's solution allowed the smaller companies in the data world to get a much bigger market share, by putting all of their solutions together on one platform, one marketplace making it more appealing for buyers. BEST MOMENTS “Certainly, I'm not the only person with this problem…no one had fixed the problem in the way I wanted them to” “People are often drowning in data and often the data they have isn't efficient in solving the problem they want to solve” “We're starting to see people use data to actually source deal flow” “Referral-led growth, the easiest way to cut through that is to have someone who already works with a company, so you need to be working with them” Do You Want The Closing Secrets That Helped Close Over $125 Million in New Business for Free?"
