In August 2019, the sleepy town of Whaley Bridge was awoken by news that intense rainfall had caused the Toddbrook reservoir to rise dangerously and the dam holding it back had started to crumble. Rescue efforts were made on a heroic scale and disaster was averted. My guest on the podcast this week lived through the whole ordeal. Gaynor Preece owns the company Spicely Does It specialising in home made charcuterie kits. Discussion also turned to the inspiration behind Gaynor's business and how early life for her was like in Africa. Including what a proper African BBQ is like!
