The most unusual thing about today's story is that almost everyone is going to bruise their lungs. For your sake, I hope it's from laughing. Not everyone will be so lucky. On today's episode: you'll hear about the one part of your body I want you to consider more worthy of fiddling with than your genitals; if you're a stickler for building codes, we're going to take you on a beautiful, potentially one-way hike to see some shoddy-ass worksmanship; and we'll see what makes helicopter rescues as frightening as whatever you did to earn one in the first place. And if you were listening on Patreon… I would use tales of sharks and octopuses and meth and sex toys to try and make today's location more appealing; you would meet the surviving inductees to the No-Parachute Hall of Fame; and you would find out how the greatest construction disaster in US history inspired my idea for an OSHA Violation Ouija Board Game.In this episode, so you know, I was going to start by saying we have a story you're going to fall head over heels for, but that felt like the most unintentionally disrespectful thing I've ever said. I'm also going to teach you the reassuring paleontological roots of why you laugh at this show. It is my unique pleasure to be able to take us all back to Oceana on today's episode. I make a point about how little attention is paid to this part of the world outside of South East Asia. Actually, I make a few points about it, as I've done in the past as well. This is, sadly, one of those episodes were young people will die terribly, and frighteningly, but it's also one of those stories that offers two things. First, a silver lining and legacy of change and safety, sure – but second, a chance to really get your torches and knives out for a government that dropped a ball and then walked behind it kicking it the whole way. I know a lot of listeners get a kind of malicious satisfaction or bureaucraschadenfreude when people in positions of responsibility for our stories get their heads removed. You'll just have to wait and see. And because we're now into October and the Halloween Season, I will be creating a masterpiece of horror and gore for our next episode. This is one I originally started writing all the way back in 2016 (yes, it took four years to get this show rolling). I shelved it though. Too violent. Too many limbs. Well, five years in, you've all proven how hard it is to scare you off, so from the annals of history comes our most frightening episode ever. Maybe. It's relative I suppose. I carved my name on a bullet......because a thousand paper cuts had me bleeding out: no sleep at a busy house, a crumbling relationship, financial troubles, a body and mind breaking down, and losing a brother. In this raw conversation with Sammy Freyta (LPC, ATR, First Responder Counselor & firefighter spouse), we break down how that slow grind happens and how to start climbing back... one honest step at a time. What You'll Learn:Why it's not “one bad call.” How years of small hits—sleep loss, a dying home life, finances, grief—pile up until you can't think straight.Moral injury in plain talk. Sammy's “torn bicep” analogy for your brain: ignore small strains and it tears.Self-care vs. soul care. Daily basics (sleep, food, movement, sunlight, connection) vs. deeper resets that actually refill you.Sleep that fights back. Blackout the room, keep it cold, phone off at night—why stimulation wrecks your recovery.Alcohol isn't a fix. It numbs now, wrecks sleep and anxiety later. Why it made things worse.Control vs. relief. The bullet as a symbol of control—and the truth that most of us want relief, not death. It has been two years since thousands of Hamas terrorists attacked Israel and slaughtered more than 1,200 men, women, and children, and took more than 240 innocent people hostage. One of those innocent lives taken hostage and put in the dark tunnels underneath Gaza was a 3-year-old girl who watched her father be murdered. Forty-eight hostages remain in Gaza, with around twenty of them still believed to be alive. FOX's Tonya J. Powers speaks with Liz Hirsh Naftali, hostage release advocate and author of 'Saving Abigail: The True Story of the Abduction and Rescue of a Three-Year-Old Hostage', who shares the horrific stories that her own family, and many other Israelis, have gone through since the terror attacks. Prize Greed and the Abandonment of Barnard Guest: Eric Jay Dolin Charles Barnard offered the British castaways a humanitarian deal: rescue them in exchange for salvaging the Isabella. This accord was shattered when HMS Nancy, commanded by Lieutenant William Peter D'Aranda, arrived. D'Aranda, seeking personal fame, immediately disregarded the agreement, prioritizing personal financial gain through the prize system, which was widely viewed as "semi-piracy." D'Aranda seized the Nanina as a prize and declared the Americans prisoners of war. Crucially, D'Aranda callously abandoned Barnard and four others (including three British) who were ashore hunting food for the entire group. Marooned for 534 days, Barnard's survival hinged on the help of his dog, Cent, who was vital for hunting powerful, four-tusked wild boars.

The Logan Canyon Scenic Byway is both breathtaking and treacherous. In May 2020, Raechel Mitchell set out with her children for a day trip to Bear Lake. Things took a dark turn when a simple bottle of vitamin water slipped beneath her van's pedals, and in seconds, her vehicle veered off the road and plunged into the icy Logan River. As water rushed in, Raechel awoke to the screams of her children as the van was swept downstream—before miraculously lodging against something unseen. Trapped inside as frigid rapids roared around them, Raechel fought to keep her children calm while rescuers on shore scrambled for a plan. With no cell service, strangers with radios, ropes, and kayaks stepped forward to help. For more than five hours, the family sat in freezing water as firefighters and volunteers risked their lives to reach them. One by one, Raechel's children were pulled to safety; and then she was finally rescued—blue-lipped, bloodied, and exhausted, but alive. What should have been tragedy became a story of courage, community, and what many witnesses could only call a miracle.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------If you're a fan of true crime but crave a dose of inspiration instead of tales of darkness, The Miracle Files is your perfect alternative. With the same storytelling intensity as true crime podcasts, The Miracle Files delves into the details of each miraculous story, exploring the people and circumstances that turned these moments into something unforgettable.Whether you believe in divine intervention or human perseverance, this podcast will leave you feeling uplifted and amazed.Website: www.themiraclefiles.comPodcast/RSS: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-miracle-files/id1714203488Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/the_miracle_files_podcastFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.phpid=100093613416005&mibextid=LQQJ4dTikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@the.miracle.files?_t=8rB5ooQd482&_r=1

This week we cover topics from watching Hospital Bills and how to save money to news of Wilderness survival and new policy, record-breaking hunts to mythbusting jellyfish. Real-life stories that could save your life or keep money in your wallet. Join radio hosts Rebecca Wanner aka ‘BEC' and Jeff ‘Tigger' Erhardt (Tigger & BEC) with the latest in Outdoors & Western Lifestyle News! How to Save Money on Hospital and Insurance Bills — Even When You're Fully Covered When you're diagnosed with a serious illness like cancer, the last thing you want to worry about is money. But between insurance coverage, hospital billing departments, and ongoing treatments, out-of-pocket costs can spiral — even when you're fully insured. In 2021, I was diagnosed with cancer. I underwent 12 rounds of chemotherapy and 8 weeks of daily radiation. While my insurance was a blessing, I quickly discovered that being covered doesn't mean you're not vulnerable to costly billing mistakes — ones that could cost you thousands if you're not paying attention. Why You Must Compare Your EOB With Hospital Bills — Line by Line One of the most important lessons I learned: Always compare your Explanation of Benefits (EOB) from your insurance provider to the bill from your hospital or healthcare provider. Here's what happened to me: Even after I had hit my out-of-pocket deductible, I noticed monthly hospital charges averaging around $900 in my online billing portal. After comparing the EOB to the hospital bills, I saw that some treatments weren't even being submitted to my insurance company. Instead, I was being billed directly — as if I had no coverage at all. I called my insurance company, who confirmed they hadn't received claims for those charges. Then I contacted the hospital's billing department and was told each time that it was a “mistake,” and they would resubmit. Had I not caught this, I could have paid over $10,000 in wrongful charges — with little chance of a refund later. Pro Tip: Don't Automatically Pay Medical Bills Without Verifying It's tempting to just pay the bill and be done with it — especially when you're overwhelmed and just trying to get through treatments. But trust your gut. Instead: Wait to receive your EOB before paying anything. Compare dates, services, and costs between the EOB and your hospital bill. Call your insurance company if anything doesn't line up. Then, contact your healthcare provider's billing department and request that charges be re-submitted if needed. Always Ask: "Has This Been Submitted to My Insurance?" Make it your mantra when speaking to any healthcare billing department: “Has this claim been submitted to my insurance company?” If they say no or “it was a mistake,” ask for proof of submission and a timeline. It can take weeks or even months for a corrected bill to show up — so document every call and keep all emails or confirmations. Human Error and AI Mistakes Are More Common Than You Think In today's digital world, hospitals and insurers often rely on automated systems for billing. But that doesn't mean the process is error-free. In fact, it may be worse. You might encounter: Incorrect coding of procedures Claims not submitted at all Duplicate billing Coverage miscalculations That's why your personal oversight is essential — especially when you're dealing with ongoing care. How to Protect Yourself from Costly Healthcare Billing Mistakes Here's a quick checklist to help you save money and protect your finances during a medical journey: Know your deductible and out-of-pocket maximum Track every treatment and procedure in a personal log Check your EOBs monthly and match them with bills Dispute errors right away — don't wait Keep records of every call and conversation Ask for itemized bills from providers Request written confirmation of any billing correction Final Thoughts: Be Your Own Advocate — It Could Save You Thousands Between AI systems, human error, and overloaded billing departments, even those with full insurance coverage can fall into financial traps. The stress of calling weekly to fix these issues took a toll, but in the end, it saved me thousands of dollars. The bottom line? Be proactive. Be persistent. And never assume a bill is correct just because it looks official. If you're navigating medical bills or complex treatments, you're not alone. If I hadn't spoken up, I would have unknowingly overpaid by thousands. Don't be afraid to double-check, question, and challenge what doesn't look right. Your health matters — and so does your wallet. 14-Year-Old Girl Makes Pennsylvania Hunting History with Record Bull Elk We've got a record-breaking hunting story that's as heartwarming as it is impressive. According to Outdoor Life, fourteen-year-old Samantha Bartlett just became the youngest hunter ever to tag a bull elk in Pennsylvania — and she did it with a single, well-placed shot from her crossbow! It all happened in the early morning hours of September 16, deep in the mountains of north-central PA. Samantha and her dad, Noel, had already spent three long days hiking and hunting, holding out for the right bull. On the fourth day, it finally came together. After hearing two bulls fighting at dawn, Samantha and her guide crept through tall grass and waited. With a few cow calls, a massive bull came trotting in. At 40 yards, Samantha took the shot — and nailed it. The 6x7 bull elk went down within 100 yards, and the rest is history. The animal was estimated at 800 pounds, and the rack green-scored at 310 inches. Getting the bull out? That was a whole different story. The team dragged it downhill for four hours — no vehicles allowed — proving once again that the hunt doesn't end with the shot. Her bull was officially checked at a game station in Benezette, where state officials confirmed Samantha's place in the record books. This big moment was made possible by a lucky draw for a limited bull elk tag — and by a new law allowing Sunday hunting in Pennsylvania for the first time, giving young hunters like Samantha more opportunities. What's next for her? She's got her sights set on the “Pennsylvania Quad Trophy” — elk, black bear, turkey, and deer — all with a crossbow. Talk about ambitious! Moral of the story? Don't underestimate a determined young hunter and her crossbow. Reference: https://www.outdoorlife.com/hunting/youngest-hunter-bull-elk-pennsylvania/ 14-Year-Old Becomes the Youngest Hunter to Ever Tag a Bull Elk in Pennsylvania Military Training Helps Missing Hunter Survive Winter Storm in Colorado Backcountry According to Summit Daily, A 57-year-old hunter from Illinois is safe today, thanks to a combination of military experience, calm thinking, and solid preparation — after spending two freezing nights alone in the rugged backcountry of Jackson County, Colorado. On Monday, Sept. 22, the man became separated from his group near the Three Sisters Trailhead in the Rawah Wilderness. The last anyone heard from him was a text saying he was lost, just before 3:30 p.m. His phone later went dark, and with winter weather rolling in, it was too dangerous for search teams to head out that night. By the next day, over 20 agencies — including Search and Rescue teams, deputies, and wildlife officials — launched a full-scale search in snowy, cold, and windy conditions. Air support was grounded, and rescuers battled through the backcountry on foot. Despite the brutal storm and tough terrain, the search effort continued into a second day. Then, on the afternoon of Wednesday, Sept. 24, hope came from above: the hunter was able to place several 911 calls, helping rescuers pinpoint his location. At around 1 p.m., air support spotted him — alive and in good health. So how did he make it? The hunter credited his survival to his military training, staying calm, building a fire, and using his sleeping bag and layers to stay warm. A big thanks goes out to Jackson and Grand County responders, Colorado Parks and Wildlife, search dog teams, and all others who helped pull off this dramatic rescue. Moral of the story? Being prepared can make all the difference — especially when Mother Nature has other plans. Reference: https://www.summitdaily.com/news/missing-hunters-military-experience-and-supplies-keep-him-alive-in-jackson-county-backcountry/ Tragic Lightning Strike Kills Two Missing Elk Hunters in Colorado Wilderness According to the Kiowa County Press, Wyoming is at the forefront of a renewed push to remove Endangered Species Act protections from grizzly bears in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. Representative Harriet Hageman has introduced the Grizzly Bear State Management Act of 2025, which supporters say reflects decades of conservation success. Grizzly numbers in the region have rebounded from just a few hundred in the 1970s to nearly 1,000 today, meeting recovery targets set back in 1993. Advocates argue it's time to return management to the states, allowing for more flexible and responsive action on local issues — especially as livestock conflicts rise. Last year, grizzlies killed 91 cattle in Wyoming, the highest number on record. The bill also aims to cut through federal red tape, reinstating a Trump-era delisting rule and blocking future legal challenges that have stalled similar efforts. Supporters say it will free up resources at the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and help speed up energy development and wildlife responses. While environmental groups warn that grizzlies still face genetic and habitat threats, Wyoming leaders say the bear has recovered — and state wildlife agencies are ready to manage them responsibly. Wyoming's stance? Grizzlies have recovered. It's time to let states take the reins. These jellyfish are no joke: they can weigh up to 50 pounds and their tentacles can stretch as long as 70 feet. From Port Aransas to Corpus Christi, beachgoers are spotting more of them than ever before. Marine biologist Jace Tunnell from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi says it's unlike anything he's seen in years of beachcombing. “I grew up on the beach and had never seen one until this year,” he said. The “pink meanie” was only officially recognized in 2011 and is known for its cotton candy color and its appetite for other jellyfish — especially moon jellies, which are currently blooming in Gulf waters. What to Do If You Get Stung While the sting isn't life-threatening, it can hurt — lasting about 10 minutes with red marks that stay for a couple of days. Here's how to treat it: Get out of the water immediately. Remove tentacles carefully using gloves or a tool — don't use bare hands. Rinse the sting with seawater, not freshwater. Pour vinegar over the sting to neutralize any remaining stinging cells. Apply hot (not scalding) water for 20 minutes to ease the pain. Avoid rubbing the area, and watch for any signs of allergic reaction. Experts say these jellyfish likely won't stick around — once cooler weather hits, both moon jellies and pink meanies are expected to disappear from Texas shores. Every winter we hear the stories, we see the pictures of avalanches. We have done a lot of work in Alaska, and I took special note of an avalanche that happened at Alaska's Turnagain Pass. The mountain slopes had danger written all over them that day - eight feet of new snow had fallen on this older, packed-down snow, a warm sun had been beating down all day, and there were avalanche warnings. But that didn't stop some snowmobilers from powering up this 2,000-foot-high mountain to see who could go the highest. There was an even more sobering warning of the danger they were in. Twenty minutes before the major avalanche there was a smaller one in a nearby gully. But some of the snowmobilers just kept going. When the big avalanche hit, a mile-wide wall of snow roared down that mountain. An onlooker's videotape shows massive slabs of snow breaking loose and sliding down the mountain in a roiling, powdery cloud with at least four snowmobilers - mere specks - being swallowed up. At least four people died that day. And none of them had to. I'm Ron Hutchcraft, and I want to have A Word With You today about "The Warning You Must Not Miss." You say to yourself, "If only they had listened to the warnings." I wonder if that's what God says every time someone goes into eternity unprepared. The Bible makes it clear He wants us to go to heaven when we die, to be with Him forever, to experience His awesome love forever. But the Bible also makes it clear that many won't make it to heaven, not because they weren't good enough, but in God's own words, "because they have not believed in the name of God's one and only Son" (John 3:18). Because they've heard God's warnings about sin and its death penalty in hell, but like those stubborn snowmobilers in Alaska, they've ignored the warnings. Our word for today from the Word of God in Hebrews 2:3 really bottom lines what's at stake here. God says, "How shall we escape if we ignore such a great salvation." Salvation. That's rescue. That's what I got the day that someone came to rescue me from drowning in Lake Michigan. I was ten years old. That's the reason I'm around today. Someone came and rescued me. So salvation is what a person receives when a firefighter brings them out of a burning building. It's salvation. Rescue from dying. God says that's what Jesus dying on the cross is all about. He was paying the price for all the sinning you and I have ever done so He can come and rescue us forever. But like me in that lake or the person in the burning building, if we resist the rescuer, we'll die. God warns us here about ignoring His salvation, and I think that's how most people end up in hell instead of heaven. Not because they out-and-out reject Jesus; they just ignore Jesus and all of God's warnings about our need of Him. Maybe that's where you are. You're just too busy to think about eternity right now or you're having too much fun. You think you're religious and you'll make it on your own goodness, or you think you know Jesus because you know a lot about Jesus. But for one reason or another you are ignoring the Savior. You are ignoring God's warnings. And this is one more warning from God. Right here today. It may be that for someone here today; this might be the last warning. But God is saying, "Don't keep going this way! You are headed for an eternity without hope, without love, without Me." This is just too important to ignore any longer. You are risking the eternal judgment of Almighty God - judgment which God's Son already took on the cross for you. Please listen to Jesus' knocking on the door of your heart. Listen to the warning of God. Tell Jesus "I'm trusting You today to do what only You can do - to rescue me from my sin and its eternal death penalty." Actually, our website is there because we wanted to put things that would help you begin that relationship with Him and know you belong to Him. I want to encourage you to go there. It's ANewStory.com. Please check it out! The avalanche of God will sweep away all those who ignore His warning, who ignore His Son. Please, don't gamble your eternity one more day.

8 years of career experience, 3rd generation Firefighter. A Engineer on Rescue 1 for Savannah Fire Department In Georgia. Tyler never had the career notions of becoming a Firefighter. She was always around sports and in college played D2 Basketball, transitioned to coaching and along the way obtained her masters degree in sports medicine. But Tyler felt like she wanted to do more. Her father mentioned joining the fire service and with that everything seemed to click in place and Tyler never looked back. Once in Tyler had mentors that helped shaped her viewpoint and mindset towards being a better version of herself. We all need to have someone in our lives to help push out that inner positive being within us to truly allow ourselves to leave the service better than we found it. IG:tylernicolebarrett
The functional path of oneness is not an abstract unity but a lived encounter of utter dependence. Western thought, enslaved by the grammar of the Anglo-Saxons, treats the human as an individual: a self-contained atom, an object unto itself. It imagines freedom as isolation, and isolation as freedom. But this supposed independence becomes sterility: the atomized person, cut off from the Shepherd's breath, is lost in a sea of thorns, choked by its own irrelevance.True independence lies not in the language of atoms but in the biology of divine anatomies, in the irreducibility of God's living functions. The Semitic root does not define a solitary “one” but a functional, dependent, and connected one. Every creature is undoubtedly one, yet cannot sustain itself any more than a cell can live apart from the body.As the body cannot live without its head, the tree without the earth withers. The triliteral root—three consonants binding the Tree of Life to the Master who gives it breath—embodies this living unity. Each consonant functions only in relation to the others; none can speak alone. Like branches drawing life through hidden roots, utility flows from dependence on him, not autonomy. In this linguistic body, the Semitic scrolls convey the unity of divine oneness: connection without possession, coherence without control. To be yaḥid is to be fragile, dependent, and open without self-reference: the earthen vessel through which the breath of ha-ʾEḥad flows.Western language, by contrast, breeds an unconscious polytheism of the self. When every person becomes an independent atom, the world fills with gods. Each will asserts its own dominion; each word competes for sovereignty. Polytheism, at its base, is war: the multiplication of possessive wills in endless collision. The Lukan crowd becomes a pantheon of thorns, a battlefield of competing gods. The soil of faith is twisted into a field of confrontation, where the multitude gathers against the Lord and his Christ to suffocate the one who brings the life-giving breath of his instruction.Yet within that suffocating crowd stands the yaḥid, Jairus, whose “only daughter”—his yeḥidah—lies dying. His lineage collapses; his name withers. Yet in this desolation, he does not press or grasp; he kneels before the “one.” There, in the stillness of dependence, the breath returns, and the Shepherd that the cares of this life cannot choke breathes life into the earthen vessel that has ceased to strive.μονογενής (monogenes) / י־ח־ד (yod-ḥet-dalet) / و-ح-د (wāw-ḥāʾ-dāl)One and only; single of its kind; only-born; only, only one, solitary, unique.“She was his only one [יְחִידָה (yeḥidah)]; he had no other son or daughter.” (Judges 11:34 )Here יָחִיד (yaḥid) expresses the fragility of the earthen vessel. In verse 34, the human line rests upon a single, irreplaceable life. Jephthah's entire legacy depends on his yeḥidah; when she is offered, the limits of family and human continuity are laid bare. The father's grief, bound to his only daughter, exposes the futility of lineage and the inevitability of dependence on God. The yaḥid becomes the mirror through which the insufficiency of man encounters the sufficiency of God.“Deliver my life from the sword, my only one [יְחִידָתִי (yeḥidati)] from the power of the dog.” (Psalm 22:21) LXX 21David cries from the edge of annihilation. His yeḥidati (“my only one”) refers to his only life (nefeš). He stands surrounded by predators, stripped of every defense, holding nothing but the breath that God alone can sustain. In that setting, ha-yaḥid encounters ha-ʾEḥad; the singular human breath encounters the One God who gives it breath. The weakness of the individual, the threatened “only life”, is the functional context of י־ח־ד (yod-ḥet-dalet) where triliteral replaces human vulnerability with God's sufficiency.“Turn to me and be gracious to me, for I am alone [יָחִיד (yaḥid)] and afflicted.” (Psalm 25:16 ) LXX 24Here, yaḥid is not emotional loneliness but martial isolation: the condition of a soldier or supplicant with no human ally, no support, no constituency. The psalmist is cut off from every network of defense; he stands as the yaḥid before ha-ʾEḥad. His solitude is not inward melancholy but strategic exposure. He is a man encircled and undone, left with no strength but God's. In that position, the oneness of God supplants the weakness of the individual, and dependence itself becomes the ground of divine action.“Rescue my life from their ravages, my only one [יְחִידָתִי (yeḥidati)] from the lions.” (Psalm 35:17) LXX 34The psalmist again names his life (nefeš) his yeḥidah: his one, irreplaceable self surrounded by devouring forces. This cry is not heroic but helpless; the yaḥid has no shield, no strength, no tribe. He stands as the fragile earthen vessel awaiting rescue from the ʾEḥad who alone grants and restores the breath of life.“They have taken their rabbis and monks as lords besides God and the Messiah, son of Mary; yet they were commanded to worship One God [إِلَـٰهًۭا وَاحِدًۭا (ʾilāhan wāḥidan)]. There is no god but he. Glory be to him above what they associate with him.” (Qurʾan, Surat al-Tawba سورة التوبة “The Repentance” 9:31)The yaḥid stands before al-Wāḥid as a fragile vessel, emptied of pretense, whose worth lies not in possession or inheritance but in exposure. To be yaḥid is to stand alone—not because one has chosen solitude, but because every other support has failed. It is the state of Jairus in Luke 8:42, David in Psalm 22:21, and Jephthah in Judges 11:34—each reduced to dependence, each holding a single, irreplaceable life before the one who gives it.Yet the religious mind, ancient and modern alike, mistakes the vessel for the seed. It clings to fleeting human breath instead of to the one who gives breath. This is what Qurʾan 9:31 exposes in its indictment of clericalism: those who mistake the earthen vessel, which passes away, for the words of God, which do not. This is also the folly of the crowds in Luke 8. They gather not to hear the divine instruction but to choke it—to smother the seed because it threatens their economy of possession. They are the ʿedah, the swarm around death. They handle Jesus like a toy, fascinated with what can be held, pressed, traded, and measured; they prefer the earthen vessel to the living seed. They worship the perishable container rather than the imperishable Word, the finite dust rather than הָאֶחָד (ha-ʾEḥad), the one from whom all life flows. But the yaḥid—the one left with nothing—sees through the mirage. Standing before al-Wāḥid, Jairus discovers that what endures is not clay but command. The earthen vessel passes away; but the Word of God abides forever.συμπνίγω (sympnigo)To press in so tightly that one can barely breathe; to crowd around or press hard against; to suffocate.“The one sown among the thorns, this is the one who hears the word, and the worry of the world and the deceitfulness of wealth choke [συμπνίγει (sympnigei)] the word, and it becomes unfruitful.” (Matthew 13:22)

Have you ever felt so alone and oppressed that you thought God had abandoned you? The Psalmist cries of living in shame even though he has not forgotten God. There are times in our lives when hope for relief seem to be dissolving as they drift away from us. We search our hearts to see we still trust in the pain of unwarranted shame. In that trust, we remind God of His unfailing love – a love that heals and restores. That changes everything. Daylight Meditations is a daily podcast from CFO North America. When a trusted doctor changed his medication without consulting his psychiatrist, what started as a routine visit spiraled into a night of crisis. After three weeks of worsening mood and breathing problems, her husband — already battling long-term depression and COPD — texted that it was “over.” She raced home, instinct telling her where he would be. What followed was part survival story, part mystery: she pulled the garage door open, grabbed the keys from the ignition and called 911. He was rushed to the hospital and later admitted to a psychiatric facility. Doctors said he should not have survived as long as he did, yet he pulled through. But the story doesn't end with medicine and ER lights. On the drive home from the hospital, she looked into her rearview mirror and saw a face appear — her father-in-law, the very man who had taken his own life the same way years earlier. He told her, without words, that he'd been with his son in the garage and saved him that day. Her husband didn't believe at first. But between the inexplicable survival and that rearview encounter, the family was left asking: coincidence, guardian spirit, or something else? #MiracleSurvival #GuardianSpirit #MentalHealth #DepressionRecovery #Paranormal #TrueGhostStory #RearviewApparition #MedicalMistake #NearDeath #RealGhostStoriesOnline Love real ghost stories?
