Welcome to my podcast, Crunchy Meets Science! In this episode, I introduce myself and share the journey I have been on with my son that led me to create this podcast. My son, Bradley, was born extremely premature with a congenital heart defect. He lived with a feeding tube for a period of time and was made violently ill by the diet prescribed to him. I eventually learned that the scientific data surrounding these products would predict exactly what happened, but his medical team simply did not know about the data. I also learned that his story was not uncommon. The path this took me down inspired me to begin this podcast. Lastly, I explain what this podcast will be about. This series is all about finding the middle ground between scientific data and personal experience and stories. Together, we will explore many topics from both a personal and scientific perspective.
