Thank you for joining us for our 2nd Cabral HouseCall of the weekend!   I'm looking forward to sharing with you some of our community's questions that have come in over the past few weeks…   Bettina: Hi Dr. Cabral, I'm a 46‑year‑old woman in perimenopause. Two years ago an ENT confirmed slight hearing loss in my left ear. I was asked to return for follow‑up but haven't done so. My grandmother developed early hearing loss and needed a hearing aid around age 40-50. I've never had repeated ear infections, though the ENT noted small spots on my eardrum ( i think it was). I'm self‑conscious about hearing aids at my age, and I'm concerned about EMF exposure from modern hearing aids that connect to apps. I would appreciate your thoughts. Thank you so much for your thoughts.       Ali: Hello Dr.Cabral, is magnesium supplementation always necessary? Based on Cronometer, I get about 600mg of magnesium from food alone (mainly soaked and pressure cooked legumes to minimize phytic acid and from avocados, potatoes and various vegetables). I also get only about 500mg of calcium from food so I supplement daily 350mg of calcium from marine algae calcium. Whenever I tried to supplement magnesium on top of my dietary intake, I get restless legs at night despite the supplemental calcium I get. I tried all quality forms of magnesium and the only one that doesn't cause is about 50mg of L-threonate. So does it mean that my magnesium intake from food is sufficient? My HTMA shows good balance between calcium & magnesium.       Nicci: Dear Dr. Cabral, I am writing you from Europe, Austria. I have always had on the lover level white blood cells (4 or 5). Now They are as low as 2.2, This is the first time they are so low. I will now have to go to the hospital and they will check it. But I just want to know your opinion from your experience with other patients. I have had a few virus infections in the last three months, including sinusitis. And I am also very stressed. What do you see in other patients with 2.2. white blood cells? Neutrophile are 1000/m3. Hemoglobin is 12 but I started taking Iron 10 days before blood test because I felt cold all the time, Iron is now 70, ferritin 41. Trans ferritin 12,9%. B6, B12, zink and copper are ok. Gamma GT is a little to high 55! I don´t drink alcohol. Thank You       Anonymous: Hi Dr. Cabral! I love your podcast and have learned so much from listening during my work commute. I was wondering if you could give some insight on syringomyelia. I was diagnosed with a syrinx a few years ago after experiencing some tingling/numbness in my toes which eventually turned into pain throughout my legs and feet. I'm on the lowest dose of pregabalin which helps enough to get me through the day. I would love to stop taking it though and heal my body naturally as the chronic pain has become exhausting. Do you have any suggestions or advise?       Riela: Hello! I listened to your podcast on A-Z guide to Children's Health (#858). Does this one apply to babies younger than 1 year old? I do not intend to get a medical shot for me or my baby, and I intend to breastfeed. I was wondering what I could stock up on that would work for babies of that age, to prevent/help treat any viruses/infections that he might get, since he will be born in November.     Thank you for tuning into this weekend's Cabral HouseCalls and be sure to check back tomorrow for our Mindset & Motivation Monday show to get your week started off right! - - - Show Notes and Resources: StephenCabral.com/3845 - - - Get a FREE Copy of Dr. Cabral's Book: The Rain Barrel Effect - - - Join the Community & Get Your Questions Answered: CabralSupportGroup.com - - - Dr. Cabral's Most Popular At-Home Lab Tests: > Complete Minerals & Metals Test (Test for mineral imbalances & heavy metal toxicity) - - - > Complete Candida, Metabolic & Vitamins Test (Test for 75 biomarkers including yeast & bacterial gut overgrowth, as well as vitamin levels) - - - > Complete Stress, Mood & Metabolism Test (Discover your complete thyroid, adrenal, hormone, vitamin D & insulin levels) - - - > Complete Food Sensitivity Test (Find out your hidden food sensitivities) - - - > Complete Omega-3 & Inflammation Test (Discover your levels of inflammation related to your omega-6 to omega-3 levels) - - - Get Your Question Answered On An Upcoming HouseCall: StephenCabral.com/askcabral - - - Would You Take 30 Seconds To Rate & Review The Cabral Concept? A Mediocre Time with Tom and Dan — Episode Notes Episode: 888 - "Nuttin's Gon' Change, No One Does S***" (Friday free show) Hosts: Dan, Tom | Guest: comedian Ross McCoy Sponsors / Ad Reads My Eternal Vitality (Dr. Powers) — opening segment, interview with Andrea Dennis about her weight loss (down ~30 of a 40-lb goal), hormone replacement therapy, and microdosing GLP-1s since March; plans to stop in Sept/Oct. Jeff's Bagel Run — plugging the new limited-edition cucumber dill cream cheese; free bagel for downloading the app. Hollerbach's German Restaurant (Sanford) — pitched as a venue for fantasy football drafts ($30/person: beer, pretzels, charcuterie, dedicated draft TV); also books their "Night's Hall" for parties/events. Bearcat (promo code BDM420) — cannabis product ad. Segment Rundown Cold open / ad — Andrea Dennis interview on HRT and GLP-1 microdosing (see above). Show open — Ross McCoy intro'd as guest; bit about Ross shaving/mowing the lawn in the heat. Business/announcements — Studio "pinball meet and greet" event coming up (very limited tickets, announced last-minute); Andrew (the "pinball dude") adding more machines; Pizza Bruno sponsoring food, White Claw sponsoring drinks; framed as a fundraiser for a new app/website they're building. Tangent: lambskin condoms — Riff sparked by mishearing "chic" as a brand name; potted history of the "Sheik" condom brand (named after the 1921 Valentino film, marketed for disease prevention since birth-control marketing was illegal), plus a long bit about what lambskin condoms are actually made from. Voicemail: cousin Gary (from Texas) — Dale's older brother; called in after hearing Dale had called the show. Reminisced about Dan's late father and uncle Doug ("the funniest fuckers ever"), said Dan looks/sounds more like Uncle Doug than his own dad. Dan reflects on losing touch with Virginia family after his dad died, and on reconnecting now. Gary left a callback number and invited a visit/get-together. Health aside — Dan discusses recent heart workup: calcium score of zero, clean echo, no chamber enlargement — good news after some health scares that have him "rethinking a lot of relationships." News: Amelia Earhart — Discussion of the Nikumaroro Island "castaway theory" (a freckle-cream jar and heat-damaged glass found near an old campfire site); Purdue University's Legacy Institute sending an expedition to the island October 7, chasing a satellite anomaly thought to be her Lockheed Electra. Tangent: unsolved mysteries — MH370, giant rich-guy experimental planes that vanish, Alcatraz escapees (the "Escape from Alcatraz" pair), Billy the Kid death theories, ancient/pyramid conspiracy stuff, DB Cooper, and a long detour into Jeffrey Epstein death conspiracy theories — including the viral story about an Epstein-linked email tied to a Fortnite account ("Little St. Jeff1") that resurfaced in released files. Coal-mining oddities — Time-Life "Mysteries of the Unknown" book bit (frog found inside a lump of coal, petrified tree stump found underground); Centralia, PA mine fire mentioned as a real, "solved" phenomenon (not a mystery, just still burning). News: cemetery "niche" robberies — Three Central Florida suspects at large for breaking into cemetery niches (small mausoleum lockers holding cremains) and stealing ~$30,000 in jewelry/valuables. Long bit ranking this on a "scale of crimes" (near the bottom, close to victimless). Reddit story tangent — A woman discovered her late mother's belongings (rare rock-photography prints of Skynyrd, Tom Petty, etc.) being resold at Orlando's Thrift Con after her storage unit was auctioned off; she's trying to track down the buyer. Break plug — Ross McCoy's comedy show, "What Do You Want From Us" Moe Comedy Jam at the Funny Bone, October 17; tickets on sale "early next month." Caller: "Concrete Mike" — Grave-robbing story from his younger days selling magazines with a traveling group; friends back home (while he was on the road) robbed cemetery mausoleums for jewelry to fund LSD, made national news, several went to prison. Segues into a long string of acid-trip stories (Twister movie premiere, Walmart at 2:30am, etc.). Discussion: leaving Florida — Sparked by a BDM (fan community) thread; framed around Jordan Foley's farewell show that night at Will's Pub (moving to a small town near Nashville). Debate over whether people who don't actually use Florida's beaches/outdoors amenities should just move somewhere cheaper; examples cited include Dan's niece Daisy moving to Georgia, and general "normal American" suburban living not being tied to location once remote work is factored in. House-demolition story — Dan describes watching a neighboring house get fully demolished by an excavator crew in 58 minutes; tangent into the "McMansion" trend replacing old Florida houses on his street, and permit rules requiring a percentage of original walls to remain standing. Wrap-up / plugs — Teased "big" announcements (a possible at-sea event and a land-based event) to be revealed on Monday's BDM show (fan membership show, sign up at tomandan.com). Sign-off. Key Dates / Plugs Mentioned Tonight: Jordan Foley's farewell show, Will's Pub (~6:30–7:30pm), before his move near Nashville, TN. Tomorrow: Real Radio poker tournament (Dan playing). October 7: Purdue-led expedition departs for Nikumaroro Island (Amelia Earhart search). October 17: Ross McCoy's "What Do You Want From Us" comedy show at the Funny Bone (tickets on sale early Sept). Monday: BDM (fan club) show — event announcements plus continued "Mysteries of the Unknown" book bit. Upcoming ("next week" as of recording): Studio pinball meet-and-greet, sponsored by Pizza Bruno and White Claw. Notable Guests/Callers Andrea Dennis — on-couch interview guest (weight loss/HRT segment). Ross McCoy — in-studio guest, Orlando comedian. Gary (cousin from Texas, Dale's older brother) — voicemail. "Concrete Mike" — phone-in caller with the grave-robbing/acid story. ### Website: https://tomanddan.com/ App: https://tomanddan.com/app Become a BDM: https://tomanddan.com/registration Merch: https://tomanddan.myshopify.com/ YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@TomandDanLive Twitch: https://www.twitch.tv/tomanddanlive Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/AMediocreTime Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/tomanddanlive/ X: https://x.com/TomAndDanLive TikTok: https://tiktok.com/@tomanddanlive Reddit: https://reddit.com/r/tomanddan ACT RSS: https://feeds.libsyn.com/61976/rss AMT RSS: https://feeds.libsyn.com/18904/rss

Managing High Homocysteine with MTHFR Variants and the Role of Vitamin C in Brain Aging: Registered dietitian nutritionist Leyla Muedin discusses MTHFR genetic variants (C677T and A1298C), their links to impaired methylation, homocysteine, SAMe, mood issues, migraines, vitamin deficiencies, and pregnancy complications, noting many people are asymptomatic and some feel worse on methylated B vitamins and do better on standard formulations. Responding to a listener with C677T, high homocysteine, and borderline methylmalonic acid, she reviews optimal homocysteine targets and outlines other causes of elevated homocysteine such as hypothyroidism/subclinical hypothyroidism, kidney failure, obesity, hypertension, diabetes, smoking, inactivity, and medications (atorvastatin, methotrexate, fenofibrate). She suggests checking these factors, considering absorption issues (intrinsic factor) for B12, and trialing SAMe and more trimethylglycine, with possible pharmacologic folate if needed. She then summarizes an observational Japanese study (n=2,044 adults >64) linking lower plasma vitamin C to reduced gray matter and weaker default mode network connectivity, and notes diet and blood sugar can affect vitamin C status.

This episode features a discussion with several Beef Cattle Institute researchers who share updates on current projects aimed at improving cattle health, welfare, and production efficiency. Topics include new technologies for semen evaluation, investigations into feeding patterns associated with interstitial pneumonia and liver abscesses, machine learning tools for detecting pain in cattle, and research on how water quality affects livestock performance. These projects highlight the growing role of technology and data analysis in solving practical problems faced by producers. The group also addresses a listener question about weaning calves from large grazing allotments where producers have limited opportunities to handle animals before weaning. Rather than focusing solely on vaccines or medications, the discussion emphasizes reducing stress through strategies such as favorable weather conditions, low-stress weaning methods, gradual adaptation to feed and water sources, and thoughtful management of the overall system. A major segment focuses on pain management in cattle and how attitudes toward animal welfare have evolved over time. The panel discusses procedures such as castration, dehorning, branding, dystocia management, and prolapse repair, noting that pain mitigation can improve welfare even when production responses such as average daily gain are difficult to measure. Researchers argue that producers should consider broader outcomes, including animal comfort, health, recovery, and public expectations for livestock care. The conversation emphasizes that many producers genuinely want to provide the best care possible and are often willing to use pain-control tools when practical options are available. Ultimately, the episode highlights the value of systems thinking, continuous research, and proactive management in advancing both cattle well-being and industry sustainability.

They dig into the White House's increasingly combative response to questions about the president's condition, the unusual number of specialists involved in his latest physical, and what his erratic sleep schedule could reveal. Then, Sarah breaks down the bizarre decoy-plane operation that secretly whisked Trump away from NATO while leaving senior officials and reporters behind, raising fresh questions about security and who knew what. The conversation also turns to Trump's increasingly difficult Iran war and the growing problems it creates for his administration, before Sarah reports from a battered National Mall where a botched renovation has become another symbol of government incompetence. #ad Save 20% Off Honeylove by going to https://honeylove.com/DAILYBEAST! #honeylovepod Learn more about your ad choices. Episode 4204 │ August 12, 2026 Two million American children are on Ritalin. Dr. Wallach never lost a single case back to it. Three trace minerals changed everything in 72 hours. WHAT THIS EPISODE COVERS  Scott Kesterson replays an archival broadcast titled God's Recipe — Dr. Joel Wallach's landmark ADD and ADHD nutrition program built on three trace minerals, lithium, chromium, and vanadium, alongside a proanthocyanidin and ginkgo biloba combination and a multi-enzyme supplement to help metabolize sugar — documenting hundreds of families who saw dramatic behavioral change within 24 to 72 hours without a single reported case returning to Ritalin. The episode features Max James, whose son endured six years of Ritalin including 60 percent weight loss down to 50 pounds by age 12, alongside multiple parent testimonials describing children moving from failing grades and violent outbursts to academic success and calm behavior within days of starting the nutritional protocol, and Dr. Chris Van Overin explaining the biochemical mechanism: refined sugar depletes the mineral cofactors and vitamin coenzymes the body needs to metabolize it, creating a cascading dysfunction that mimics ADD and ADHD. The episode closes on Scott's framing of the body as a perfect temple designed by God to heal and restore when given what it actually needs, rather than a broken system requiring pharmaceutical management. KEY QUESTIONS ADDRESSED  What are the three trace minerals — lithium, chromium, and vanadium — that Dr. Wallach used to treat ADD and ADHD, and why did he never have a single documented case return to Ritalin after starting nutritional supplementation? What is the biochemical mechanism connecting refined sugar to ADHD symptoms — and why does Dr. Chris Van Overin argue that sugar metabolism depletes the exact mineral cofactors and vitamin coenzymes the body needs to regulate mood and behavior? What did Max James's son experience during six years on Ritalin, including dropping to 50 pounds by age 12 — and what changed within 30 days of removing him from the drug and returning him to a natural food environment? They can give your feet just what they need, especially if you want a roomier toebox because of bunions or a hammer toe, or just wanting more comfort. Altra shoes aren't just zero-drop anymore, either. They have 4mm heel-toe drop models and I've found that this is my personal sweet spot. When your body begins changing during perimenopause and menopause, the fitness industry's answer is usually predictable:Eat less.Cut the carbs.Skip breakfast.Fast longer.Do more cardio. But what if eating less isn't actually the strategy your body needs? In Part 3 of Menopause in the Light, Coach Alex Van Houten turns to nutrition—and challenges the idea that midlife health is simply about making the number on the scale smaller.Menopause changes physiology, but it doesn't erase physiology. Energy balance still matters. But so do muscle mass, protein intake, sleep, training, insulin sensitivity, food quality, recovery, and the hormonal changes influencing where and how your body stores fat.The goal isn't just weight loss. The goal is to build and maintain a woman who is strong, capable, metabolically healthy, resilient, well-nourished, and ready to serve. In this episode, Coach Alex breaks down:Why dramatically cutting calories can backfire during menopauseThe difference between weight loss and improving body compositionWhy protein becomes increasingly important as women ageA practical strategy for getting enough protein throughout the dayWhy carbohydrates aren't the enemyThe difference between food and fuelHow whole, nutrient-dense foods can simplify your nutritionFiber, calcium, vitamin D, healthy fats, and bone healthIntermittent fasting and when it may—or may not—serve youWhy breakfast can be a powerful opportunity for better nutritionAlcohol, sleep, and taking an honest inventory of your habitsCreatine and supplements during menopauseIron considerations during perimenopauseWhy you should be skeptical of products promising to “balance your hormones”How husbands and families can support women without becoming the “food police”A biblical perspective on food, gratitude, self-control, and stewardshipCoach Alex also offers a simple framework for building meals:Start with protein. Add plants. Add fuel according to your activity. Pay attention to your fats.Nothing exotic. Nothing magical.Just a repeatable strategy that can still work next year.As 1 Corinthians 10:31 reminds us: “Whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all for the glory of God.”Food isn't God.Food isn't the enemy. It's provision—and something we are called to receive with gratitude and steward with wisdom.TAKE THE NEXT STEPIf you're navigating perimenopause or menopause and know it's time to make a change, Coach Alex wants to help you identify where you are now and what deserves your attention first.Go to: faithfulfitness.co/menopauseComplete the Faithful Fitness Assessment and claim your seat for the upcoming live seminar. You'll learn how to take your current starting point and build a practical plan for getting meaningful results over the next 30 days—without miracle supplements, crash diets, or internet gimmicks.Take the assessment and reserve your seat: faithfulfitness.co/menopauseNext week: Menopause in the Light, Part 4 — hormone replacement therapy, sleep, sexual health, supplements, peptides, medical care, and how to know when it's time to ask for more help.Train hard. It's the highest count in 35 years. That's in large part because measles vaccination rates have slipped below 95 percent – the threshold public health experts say is needed to stop community spread.  Last week on CNN, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said children should be vaccinated for measles after being pressed on-camera, even as he used the same interview to push a debunked claim about respiratory syncytial virus.  And on Monday, President Donald Trump signed an executive order aimed at upending the childhood vaccine schedule, including changes to the measles vaccine and others. But what will actually change at the doctor's office?Find more of our programs online. Your Cells Are Changing: Roxanne Khamsi on the DNA We Acquire as We Age

Right now, inside your body, cells are dividing. Each time they divide, they must copy an enormous instruction manual: your DNA. Most copies are remarkably accurate. Some acquire changes. We tend to think of DNA as fixed. You receive it from your parents, carry it through life, and perhaps pass part of it to your children. But scientists are finding that inheritance is only the opening chapter. As we grow older, our cells collect mutations. Sunlight can leave its mark on skin cells. Tobacco smoke can alter cells in the lungs. Inflammation, infection, copying errors, environmental exposures, and simple chance can all play a part. Most of those changes may never matter. Some help our immune system recognize new threats. A few give one population of cells an advantage over its neighbors. And some are associated with cancer, cardiovascular disease, or other health risks. That means the cells in your body do not all carry precisely the same genetic story. For those of us in our 60s, 70s, 80s, and beyond, this raises a fascinating question: How much of our health is inherited, and how much continues to be written as we live? Our guest is award-winning science journalist and Smithsonian Associate Roxanne Khamsi. Her work has appeared in The Atlantic, The New York Times, WIRED, The Economist, and other leading publications. Her new book is Beyond Inheritance: Our Ever-Mutating Cells and a New Understanding of Health. Roxanne Khamsi, welcome to The Not Old Better Show.

President Trump signed an executive order updating recommended childhood immunizations—reducing the core schedule from 18 vaccines down to protections against 11 diseases, spacing out doses, and recommending single-dose MMR options. While medical and scientific consensus maintains there is no link between vaccines and autism, both the President and Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. suggested at the signing that a link may exist between the expanded schedule and rising autism rates. Dr. Stephanie Haridopolos from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) joins the Rundown to examine what this new guidance actually changes. She discusses HHS's approach to vaccine safety research, efforts to rebuild public trust, pediatric recommendations, and the administration's plan to investigate potential environmental triggers behind brain inflammation and autism. The restaurant industry is navigating complex challenges in food safety as recent FDA investigations into widespread foodborne outbreaks leave consumers on edge. Chef and restaurateur David Burke joins to discuss how his 18 locations manage major supply recalls through centralized buying, the pros and cons of local sourcing versus large distributors, and practical advice for consumers navigating food safety concerns when dining out. On December 20th, 2022, a doctor at Women and Infants Hospital in Providence looked at Lindsay Clancy's medication list and decided she was too medicated to safely enter their postpartum program. That doctor picked up a phone and called the nurse practitioner prescribing them. Nobody answered. Nobody called back. Thirty-five days later her three children were dead.Today that nurse practitioner testified, and Kevin Reddington read her the note.Day 11 in Plymouth Superior Court, on what happened to be Lindsay Clancy's 36th birthday. Julie Paul retook the stand and got a one-minute cross that was more devastating than any of the grillings that came before it. Rebecca Jollotta, the psychiatric nurse practitioner who inherited Clancy's care in November 2022, spent nearly the entire day answering for a treatment record she only ever saw a fraction of. And before the jury walked in, Judge William Sullivan heard argument on whether a former McLean Hospital social worker who posted about the trial on TikTok can testify about holiday staffing on a psychiatric unit.I go through the MyChart messages Clancy sent her provider in December, in her own words, in real time. I go through the bipolar question and the 5K that nobody knew about. And I get into the detail nobody else is covering: Jollotta could not get her patient's psychiatrist notes, could not get the McLean records, and did not know about fourteen psychiatric appointments, but she could pull every controlled substance Clancy had ever been dispensed in Massachusetts in about ninety seconds. We built one interoperable health database in this country. We built the one that watches you. Also in here: why blaming HIPAA for this is a myth, with the actual regulation cited. Why there are five inpatient perinatal psychiatric programs in the entire United States and forty-five states have none. And why every provider on that witness stand is also a defendant in a civil suit over the same care.***This episode is not editedBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/we-saw-the-devil-unfiltered-political-analysis--4433638/support.Website: http://www.wesawthedevil.comPatreon: http://www.patreon.com/wesawthedevilRobin's Instagram: http://www.instagram.com/robin_wstdTwitter: http://www.twitter.com/WeSawtheDevilInstagram: http://www.instagram.com/wesawthedevilpodcast.TikTok: tiktok.com/@wesawthedevilpolitics
