And while it may sound "woo woo", energy medicine helped her resolve many chronic conditions that were plaguing her. Anna then went on to implement ancient practices for the healing of her land. She started prioritizing "living soil" (her #1 crop). She began playing the long game by following permaculture principles and other simple, ancestral techniques to revitalize the land, make it more productive, and enable it to provide healthy veggies, untouched by artificial, chemical inputs—so that it could make better the lives of generations to come. The Dad Edge Podcast (formerly The Good Dad Project Podcast)
Have you ever asked yourself: Am I really aware of how much social media and online content is influencing my kids? Have I noticed my kids becoming overly focused on their physical appearance or diet? How do I handle conversations about nutrition and fitness at home? If you've noticed your son obsessing over his physique or protein intake, or your daughter silently struggling with self-worth because of what she sees online, this episode is for you. Larry and Rich dive deep into how today's digital landscape is distorting kids' perceptions of themselves, driving issues like body dysmorphia, disordered eating, and unhealthy relationships with food and fitness—affecting boys and girls earlier than ever before. You'll hear real talk on what warning signs to watch out for, how to foster healthy conversations about food and body image, and the steps you can take to protect your kids from the relentless pressures of curated perfection online. Plus, learn practical strategies for monitoring your child's digital world and discover why it's crucial to model resilience, open dialogue, and authentic self-worth in your home. Whether you're a dad, coach, or mentor, this episode is your wake-up call and toolbox—because the world is changing, and as fathers, we need to step up, disrupt the status quo, and help our kids build unshakeable confidence in themselves. Become the best husband you can: https://bit.ly/deamarriageyoutube In this vital conversation, we dig into: Why Social Media Is A Game-Changer: Unlike the occasional magazine we grew up with, today's kids are constantly exposed to unrealistic body standards, curated feeds, and supplement ads designed to make them feel “less than.” The result? Kids (especially boys ages 12-14!) are reporting anxiety, body dysmorphia, compulsive exercising, and disordered eating at skyrocketing rates. Spot the Warning Signs: It's not just about undereating—obsession with protein grams, excessive workouts, and constant flexing in the mirror can all point to an unhealthy relationship with food and body image. Smart Conversations, Not Confrontations: The episode shares actionable tips to open up dialogue with your kids. Watch "Generation Flex" together, use it as a springboard for honest conversation, and focus on how food and fitness make us feel—not just how we look. Model Healthy Habits: As dads, it's not about being perfect—it's about showing our kids that food isn't “good” or “bad,” and that balance is key (yes, you can have that burger and a salad). Digital Safety for Peace of Mind: Larry also highlights tools like Bark, which alert you to concerning activity on your kids' devices—so you're not left in the dark about what they're seeing online. If you care about raising healthy, resilient sons and daughters in an always-connected world—and want to know the practical steps you can take at home—this episode is for you Here's what research and observation highlight about Studies show that hospitalizations for pediatric eating disorders rose by 139% from 2002 to 2018, with the largest relative increase seen in males aged 12 to 14 Boys and men now represent a third of all eating disorder diagnoses today Nearly 100% of kids with internet access are exposed to carefully curated or unrealistic fitness/body images daily. thedadedge.com/bark thedadedge.com/alliance https://menshealth.com @menshealthmag @richdorment Read more about Men's Health's documentary "Generation Flex": https://www.menshealth.com/generationflex Watch Generation Flex on Apple TV+:https://tv.apple.com/us/clip/generation-flex Watch Generation Flex on Amazon Prime Video: https://www.amazon.com/gp/video/detail/B0DJCND11R

In this episode, Jen gets real about what it's like to share publicly while barely holding it together behind the scenes. July 28, 2025 - Season 16, Episode 2 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Monday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right to discussing the health of the Pittsburgh Steelers with four training camp practices now in the books for 2025. Alex and I discuss Steelers RB Cordarrelle Patterson still being on the roster through four training camp practices. (UPDATE: Patterson announced he was released by the Steelers right after the show wrapped up.) We discuss the Steelers adding veteran S Chuck Clark more in depth during this show and if that means the team will wind up keeping four safeties on their 53-man roster to start the 2025 regular season. The Steelers announced their 2025 Hall of Honor Class over the weekend, so Alex and I discuss this year's three new members, Joey Porter, Ben Roethlisberger, and Maurkice Pouncey. We also talk about Pouncey's chances of being voted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame at a later date. The Miami Dolphins have now revamped the contract of new S Minkah Fitzpatrick since the Steelers traded him, so Alex and I go over the details of what that looks like. With Steelers T Broderick Jones being banged up now in training camp, Alex and I discuss his status this summer and the same with fellow starting T Troy Fautanu. We discuss T Dylan Cook getting extra reps at left tackle with the first and second team offense on Sunday. Kyle Brandt had two great interviews with Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers and HC Mike Tomlin on the NFL Network over the weekend, so we recap those during this show. We focus a lot on what all Rodgers had to say to Brandt and specifically what his rebuttal to the recent criticism he received from Hall of Fame quarterback Terry Bradshaw of Fox Sports. We go over what Tomlin had to say about his long non-losing season streak. Later in this show, Alex and I look ahead to things we will be looking for once the Steelers resume training camp practices on Tuesday and how the team will begin donning pads this week. Alex and I then attempt to quickly recap a few notable things that a few other various Steelers players had to say since our last show. This 85-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted in the recap, and we make sure to answer a few listener questions at the very end. steelersdepot.com Learn more about your ad choices. Episode Summary: In this honest and reflective episode, Molly shares her personal journey with More Dry July and what it really means when your outcome doesn't match your original goal. She walks through her mindset shift from chasing perfection to reinforcing identity, and how 21 alcohol-free days—rather than the planned 24—still powerfully reflect the systems she's built as an Alcohol Minimalist.Drawing from James Clear's Atomic Habits and Elizabeth Benton's Chasing Cupcakes, Molly explores how honest tracking, identity-based change, and keystone habits can keep you aligned even when things don't go perfectly. She also shares a powerful metaphor that reframes each alcohol-free day as a building block in the foundation of a peaceful relationship with alcohol.Whether your July was a success by the numbers or felt a little off-track, this episode will remind you that your next decision matters far more than your last one—and that progress is always possible when you stay connected to who you are becoming. In this episode, you'll learn:Why prioritizing alcohol-free days matters more than perfectionHow “alcohol-free-ish” thinking can undermine honest accountabilityThe difference between tracking outcomes vs. living your identityWhat it means to own your behavior without excuses or shameWhy each AF day is like stacking a brick in your foundationResources and Links:Atomic Habits by James Clear: https://jamesclear.com/atomic-habitsChasing Cupcakes by Elizabeth Benton: https://amzn.to/3KXh2xQStart your Sunnyside trial: https://www.sunnyside.co/mollyWork with Molly or learn more: https://www.mollywatts.comQuote of the Week: "You do not rise to the level of your goals. So remember that a mixed drink or full glass of wine are probably more than one drink.Abstinence from alcoholAbstinence from alcohol is the best choice for people who take medication(s) that interact with alcohol, have health conditions that could be exacerbated by alcohol (e.g. liver disease), are pregnant or may become pregnant or have had a problem with alcohol or another substance in the past.Benefits of “low-risk” drinkingFollowing these guidelines reduces the risk of health problems such as cancer, liver disease, reduced immunity, ulcers, sleep problems, complications of existing conditions, and more.
