Desert Alien Jams

Another one from the archive. The Hookey brothers jam on this QOTSA-esque riff. Sam Hookey - bass, Teddy Hookey - drums, Jack Hookey - elec and Harry Hookey - one keyboard note.

The guys are adhering to the government's regulations and decided to do a remote jam from their separate homes. Jack - guitar/bass, Harry - iPhone vocals and Jesse - electric drums.

The night before regulations on public gatherings tightened, a group of the finest musicians in the land of Gipps convened at Small Town Alien Studios for one last musical hurrah. Who knows when the next opportunity will come? This jam features features Jack on elec/vox, special guests Rachel Jameson on vocals, Dave Williams on bass and James Johnson on drums.

Jack (elec), Harry (bass, vocals) and Jesse (drums) are back together this week to give a musical take on the biggest news story since 9/11.

This week the band couldn’t jam together, so Harry pulled one from the archives. This was a solo jam done in the spirit of the 2 headed eagle. The bird looks east and west simultaneously, never sure of its own true calling but compulsively drawn to observe as much as possible, even at the expense of its own identity.

Harry got held up at work so Jesse (drums), Jack (elec/vox) and special guest David Dower (Moog bass, keyboards) concocted a sonic tapestry of glorious nonsense. Jack had just visited Morwell and bought a tiger table for $250 in attempt to fill the void in his soul.

About a year ago the Hookey brothers - Sam (keys), Jack (bass), Teddy (drums) and Harry (vocals) got together on a rare occasion when they were all in the same country, and jammed until their fingers got sore.

Harry couldn't make the jams this week, so Jack and Jesse (aka Naggots) had a fun jam of absolute nonsense, do not take any of this seriously.

The band jams on a melancholy piano riff while Harry channels Donovan with an Aussie twist. Harry - vox/harmonica, Jack - piano and Jesse - drums.

The band attempts "Gippsland Hills." Jack leaves in the middle because he doesn't dig the song. Harry - acoustic/vox, Jack - bass, Sam Hookey - keys and Jesse as always - drums.

Harry and Jesse were away so Jack invited a special guest, his brother-pianist "Spiderfingers" aka Sam Hookey to weave some wacky patterns on the keys with Jack providing the beat.
