The renewed focus on Jeffrey Epstein has pulled Bill and Hillary Clinton back into a political posture they know better than almost anyone. Hillary Clinton's decision to publicly challenge House Oversight Chair James Comer and call for a live, televised hearing was not defensive or impulsive. It was classic Clinton strategy. When scrutiny becomes unavoidable, they prefer exposure on their own terms rather than silence that allows suspicion to metastasize. This approach is rooted in decades of experience. From Arkansas through the White House years and into the post-presidency era, the Clintons have learned that retreat signals weakness. Engagement, even aggressive engagement, creates opportunities to reframe. By demanding a public forum, Hillary Clinton is betting that structure, preparation, and confidence outweigh the risk of unpredictable questioning. It is a wager based on a long track record.Politics Politics Politics is a reader-supported publication. To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber. There is a widespread assumption that a public deposition would inevitably turn into a referendum on Donald Trump or spiral into uncontrollable chaos. I do not buy that. For such a moment to damage the Clintons meaningfully, Bill Clinton would have to concede proximity to wrongdoing he has denied for years. That would contradict every instinct the Clinton political machine has ever displayed.Instead, the more likely outcome is disciplined deflection. Epstein becomes a cautionary tale about elite misconduct broadly defined. Republicans become opportunists exploiting tragedy. Trump becomes the moral counterexample. This is not improvisation. It is choreography. The Clintons are exceptionally skilled at narrowing the scope of inquiry while expanding the scope of blame. What we are watching is not a reinvention, but a revival. The logic of the “vast right wing conspiracy” never disappeared. It simply went dormant. In moments like this, it reemerges because it still works with Democratic audiences inclined to see investigations as partisan weapons rather than truth-seeking exercises. That does not mean the Epstein issue goes away. It means it gets absorbed into a familiar frame where accountability is abstract and suspicion is redistributed. For Democrats privately uneasy about defending Bill Clinton, this strategy offers an escape hatch. For Republicans hoping for a decisive reckoning, it is a reminder of how resilient the Clintons remain under pressure.Chapters00:00:00 - Intro00:05:45 - Clintons00:24:37 - Update00:24:53 - Jobs00:28:15 - Maine Polls00:29:50 - Texas00:32:19 - Kirk Bado on the State of DC01:03:29 - Wrap-up (and Bonus Crazy Political Ad) This is a public episode. In this BME Podcast episode, Tone sits down with David Rushing — better known as YoRush — for a real, personal conversation that goes beyond NBA Threads and social media influence.Rush opens up about being a husband and father, and how those roles shape who he is off screen compared to the version people see online. He talks honestly about navigating growth, opportunity, and visibility through social media while still staying grounded in real life. The conversation reflects on Rush'd Vibes reaching over 100 episodes, including one conversation that surprised him with how deeply it resonated with listeners. There's also a fun (and very real) debate on what's harder to manage: NBA discourse on Threads or keeping chickens healthy and happy. From there, Rush shares his favorite League Pass players and teams outside of the Lakers, his thoughts on the Lakers' future under new ownership with Mark Walter, and which NBA storylines have his attention heading into and after the All-Star break. The 4th Quarter Segment brings personality and humor:• Favorite food cuisine• Who's having the most impactful NBA season right now• NBA player he'd love to see host a Threads Q&AThis episode is about identity, balance, perspective, and growth — not just basketball takes.
Orchestrate all the Things podcast: Connecting the Dots with George Anadiotis
Software engineering is being transformed by AI faster than any other domain. Unpacking how this transformation is playing out may offer a glimpse into the future Greg Foster's journey into software engineering began in an unlikely place: a Nevada high school where he couldn't land a job at Starbucks. Instead of serving coffee, he taught himself software development. Foster developed what he calls "a lifelong obsession with the craft of software engineering". That obsession evolved from building apps to building for other builders. From Airbnb cofounding Graphite, where he now serves as CTO running what he calls "a dev tools team for the entire industry". Foster is now building the future of software development with Cursor. Foster doesn't just have a front seat to watch how AI is changing software engineering - he gets to shape the change. We caught up and talked about the past, present and future of software engineering. The takeaway? There is a world of difference between vibes and solid foundations for software engineering at scale. It's time we retire the debate over whether or not AI can improve outcomes in business. New data out of PWC from over 4,000 global CEOs indicates that for one-third of the market, the financial returns are real. However, while the headlines are quick to celebrate the winners, they are burying the hard reality that the majority of companies are stalled and some are actively paying an "innovation tax" with nothing to show for it.This week, I'm framing my conversation around two key charts from the 2026 PwC Global CEO Survey. What's hidden in them is a reality check on the cognitive dissonance happening in the C-Suite. I'm exposing an uncomfortable mirror test facing leadership and the survival strategy for the teams reporting to them. I'll explain why the high confidence in culture and tech is often a mask for a lack of execution and highlight why the pressure is about to boil over.My goal is to strip away the optimism to expose the critical gaps hidden in the data and why they are fatal for your ROI: The "Dead Zone" Reality (Stalled vs. Bleeding): It's not just that companies aren't winning; 13% are seeing costs rise with no revenue growth. I break down why you might be paying a tax on innovation rather than investing in it, and why staring at the P&L won't fix the leak. The C-suite Mirror Test (Vibes vs. Velocity): 69% of leaders believe their culture is ready, yet only 29% can access their own data. I explain why you cannot "mindset" your way to ROI and why confusing sentiment with strategy is a trap. Escaping the Trap (Lead vs. Lag Measures): The winners aren't overemphasizing the lag measures “Cost" and "Revenue.” I discuss why chasing the scoreboard leads to bad decisions (like the Grok crisis) and how to pivot to the operational metrics that actually remove friction. The Direct Report's Survival Guide: Your boss sees the winners and expects results. I provide the specific defense strategy for functional leaders to turn "we're working on it" into a data-backed case for better resources before the heat turns up. By the end, I hope you see this not as a critique of your readiness, but as a call to operational rigor. You cannot build a future-focused organization on "vibes," and you cannot join the winning 33% without doing the unsexy work of fixing the roadmap.⸻If this conversation helps you think more clearly about the future we're building, make sure to like, share, and subscribe.
