Episode No. 16 - The Jimi Hendrix Experience

Episode No. 16 is something new altogether. In this Episode I just play my favorite deep tracks from The Jimi Hendrix Experience who are one of my favorite bands from the 60's. These track are taken from the main 3 albums they recorded between 1967 & 1968. "Are You Experienced", "Axis: Bold As Love", & "Electric Ladyland". There was an album in between called "Smash Hits"which was a compilation of songs from the first album as well as some tracks that were never on an album. "Red House" is one of the tracks off of "Smash Hits". This is the first time I'm dedicating the entire hour to one band or artist but I felt that this band deserved it. I may do other Episodes concentrating on one band in the future. Maybe The Beatles, The Stones, Traffic, Mountain etc. I hope you enjoy this Episode. The idea came to me when listening to the strange & esoteric "Third Stone From The Sun".

Another episode of deep tracks from the 2 best decades of rock music. These episodes represent what was going on musically and culturally in the days of free spirit. I still believe these 2 decades produced the best rock music overall. The freedom of creativity was in abundance back then. Bands were signed to a record deal because they sounded different than everyone else, unlike today where much of the music sounds the same. It was a generation of people who played instruments and sat for hours at a time alone, practicing and improving their musicianship. No American Idol Stars singing along with their favorite singer flavor of the day. No Karaoke. Strictly musicians who worked on their craft intensely just to let their creative juices flow. Enough said. LISTEN!Dino

This episode is a departure from the usual deep tracks format and instead is some of the more popular songs played on FM Radio, they may have even become hits for these artist. No worries, there will be no Pop music in this episode. The artists are all great bands with excellent players with plenty of creativity & talent. The Who, Traffic, Cream, Jimi Hendrix Experience, Deep Purple, The Beatles, etc. Please take the time to review in iTunes, if you possess an iTunes account. Thanks for the support. I changed the usual format and theme from the usual Deep Tracks to what was played on the Radio back in the 60's & 70's. More or less I'm playing hits from great bands of the period. Songs that your typical person born in that era would know. I had a lot of fun putting this episode together so I think I may continue in this sort of "Hit" vein for the next couple of episodes as there are a lot more bands and hit songs from that era. I hope you enjoy this. Please give a review either way. I do appreciate it.Dino
